She may only be 13 years old, but Kiernan Shipka is a bit of a fashion expert.

It’s no accident — she’s had five seasons of Mad Men to learn from the best in show costume designer Janie Bryant. And on Apr. 7, Shipka will portray Sally Draper for a sixth season, as the AMC show heads to the ‘60s.

Off screen, Shipka has hit the right fashion notes thanks to names like Miu Miu, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino and Moschino.

At this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Mar. 23, the young star turned to Rag & Bone for a floral frock that doubly served as a reminder that you can look chic and fresh all while being age-appropriate.

“What I try to do with red carpets, I try to make it a little different each time,” Shipka told Harper’s Bazaar last summer. “I most admire people who aren’t afraid of what people are going to think and really just rock it, even if it’s really crazy.”

While the red carpet is still waiting for Shipka to pull off a “really crazy” look (a la her personal favorites Willow Smith or Helena Bonham Carter), the actress has settled comfortably into an affair with patterns, bright colors and looks that let the clothing — not the makeup, shoes or accessories — do all the talking.

Mad Men will kick off its sixth season on Apr. 7 on AMC.

The final Twilight film may be battling Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln (and Skyfall) at the box office this weekend, but a united front can be seen in the latest pages of Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

Breaking Dawn star Dakota Fanning, Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka, Malin Akerman and Evan Rachel Wood are featured in “The Spielberg Connection,” a recreation of some of Spielberg’s most famous scenes and characters.

In her recreation of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Fanning is Jillian Guiler (originally played by Melinda Dillon in 1977). And yes, the spaceship and Guiler’s son Barry are also in the frame.

Shipka, the young star who has been stealing the show on Mad Men since the series’ beginning, bears an uncanny resemblance to a young Drew Barrymore, who of course starred in E.T. the Extra Terrestrial as the adorable Gertie, opposite the adorable alien.

Photographed by Simon Procter, the feature also includes Akerman and Wood in equally iconic scenes from Jaws and Jurassic Park, respectively.

Spielberg’s latest film Lincoln, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the nation’s 16th president, has grossed some $7 million at the U.S. box office after a limited release. The film opens in wide release this weekend.

The film is already generating a ton of Oscar buzz for Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones and Spielberg.

The cast of Mad Men was out in full force at the ArcLight theater in Hollywood on Wednesday evening to celebrate their season five premiere, and Celebuzz was able to catch up with Sally Draper herself!

Kiernan Shipka 12, plays the on-screen offspring of Don and Betty Draper (Jon Hamm and January Jones), and we chatted with her about her precocious character on the Emmy-award winning show, as well as what it’s like to have Jon as a dad!

“It’s really great! He’s so funny, he’s such a cool person. He’s absolutely great!”

You don’t have to tell us twice!

Looking adorable in a Miu Miu dress (that she picked out herself!), when we asked about whether or not she had seen the two hour season premiere, the actress admitted,  ”This is my first time seeing it. I’m just looking forward to seeing how it turns out.” 

Kiernan was also open to talking about how character will change this season, revealing, “She’s just growing up. That’s her big story line, coping with everything around her.”

It’s been over a year and a half since the season four premiere, and Kiernan assured Mad Men fans, “It’s bold, and it’s exciting. It’s really fun.”
