John Travolta has claimed he helped a car crash survivor who was suffering “constant pain” from a broken ankle by using a mysterious Scientology procedure called “an assist” — leaving the victim “noticeably better” afterwards.

The Saturday Night Fever star, who has been studying Scientology since 1975, spoke about the incident in the controversial religion’s latest edition of their publication, Celebrity Magazine.

“I was in Shanghai recently at a work event and the Master of Ceremonies’ best friend had recently gotten into a car wreck. He had broken his ankle and was in constant pain,” the 57-year-old revealed in an article titled “John Travolta: Stayin’ Very Alive.”

“I asked him permission to do some Scientology assists and he said, ‘Okay sure’.

“People were standing around watching as I did them. You could actually see him confronting the pain and after a while he looked up at me and said ‘I feel better’ so I said ‘Okay end of assist.’

“He had gotten noticeably better and I was chomping at the bit for more.”

The popular star and devout Scientologist spoke about how he liked to use his unorthodox skills to help people that he meets on the street.

According to the Scientology handbook, an ‘assist’ is a process whereby a Scientologist helps an individual to heal himself — or to be healed by another agency — by removing his or her reasons for precipitating and prolonging his condition and lessening their predisposition to further injure themselves or remain in an intolerable condition.

The TV and film icon, who holds 11 licenses to fly jet airplanes, credits the religion for helping him become such an accomplished aviator.

In the interview, Travolta reveals that he used to drive his aeronautics instructors crazy because he was so detailed in his requests about how every part of a plane worked.

“I’m a high school dropout. Now, what are the odds of a high school dropout having 11 jet licenses? Not very high. Well, with just a little bit of Study Technology under my belt found I could totally understand the subject and for that matter any subject that I chose,” he added.

Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston are enjoying being parents again to their infant son Benjamin Travolta, 2, after their son Jett, who suffered from autism, died at the age of 16. He hit his head in a bathtub at the family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Hotel on the Grand Bahama Island in 2009.

And during a recent appearance on The Doctors, Preston opened up for the first time about Jett’s autism and what she believed caused it.

“He was autistic, he had seizures, and when he was very young he had Kawasaki syndrome. I strongly believe as a mother, as does my husband, that there are certain contributing factors that lead to autism,” Preston, 50, revealed.

For her, those included a bout of food poisoning while she was pregnant, her ‘fast and hard labor’ and taking antibiotics while breast feeding, which gave Jett thrush (a common yeast infection in the mouth which has been linked to a symptom of autism).

Travolta and Preston, who also have a 12-year-old daughter Ella, are among Scientology’s highest profile celebrities in Hollywood, as well as Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley and Jenna Elfman.

ABC’s Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars’ double elimination of Week 8 paved the way for next week’s semifinal round. The four All-Star semifinalists are now locked in, minus one fan favorite and one sexy hunk.

Recall head judge Len Goodman’s grumpy tirade over Shawn Johnson’s tribal samba. He sternly told her she had her two pro partners Derek Hough and Mark Ballas to blame if she was sent home. Was he right?

Note: Spoilers ahead if you didn’t watch Tuesday’s episode.

Nope! After all Len’s complaining, Shawn can actually thank her pros because she was swept into the semifinals early in the show, as was Melissa Roycroft. Then it was time for the first elimination, with Kirstie Alley and Kelly Monaco in the hot seat. No real shocker here that out of the two, Kirstie was ousted.

Even though both found themselves neck and neck at the bottom of the leaderboard for several weeks, Kelly has shown the most improvement and finesse on the dance floor. Kirstie was always a good time and had a large fan base, but the entertainment value can only take you so far. The stakes are so high for a place in the All-Star semifinals and Kirstie just wasn’t improving at all week over week. See the video of her last dance above and note how sloppy it seemed at times.

When Kirstie and partner Maks Chmerkovskiy’s names were announced, it was curious that no attention was paid to Kelly and partner Val Chmerkovskiy for making it into the semifinals. No fanfare, no congrats, nothing? We can only assume Kelly and Val will have a private, romantic celebration later. Kirstie was gracious, thanking Maks for his patience, the judges for their critiques and of course, the fans.

The next couple to make it into the semifinals was Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke. This was surprising only because Emmitt has been struggling in the middle of the pack for several weeks, and quite frankly, hasn’t danced that well. It can only be the power of the legion of football fans that saved him. Emmitt’s safety left Apolo Ohno and Gilles Marini on the hot seat for the last spot in the semifinals. Apolo was in, while Gilles was eliminated. Gilles had received higher scores overall than Apolo, but the fans just weren’t digging him or his sexy accent this time around. Gilles said being on the show twice had been an incredible experience and lovingly thanked his wife, because without her, he was nothing.

In between the heart thumping moments, we learned that next week would see unique dance styles once again with each All-Star semifinalist picking the style for another:

Kelly picked “Caveman” Hustle for Melissa
Emmitt picked “Knight Rider” Banghra (Indian folk dance) for Shawn
Gilles picked “Big Top” Jazz for Apolo
Shawn picked “Espionage” Lindy Hop for Emmitt
Kelly was left with “Surfer” Flamenco

Next week’s semifinals will also see tribute dances to Michael Jackson, with each couple performing to a song from the album Bad.

Tom Bergeron got quite the surprise during the premiere of Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars when contestant Kirstie Alley congratulated his Emmy win with a kiss on the lips.

So, how did it feel to be kissed by the former star of Cheers?

“Well, it was fine,” Bergeron quipped to Celebuzz in a recent interview.

“I have to admit that I was working on sort of two levels: one, this is a bit of a surprise; and two, this will probably be good TV,” he added.

Good TV has been a running theme on this season of Dancing With the Stars, which brought back some of the show’s best contestants for one epic battle.

Three weeks into the season, Bergeron — who won an Emmy in September for hosting the top-rated ABC program — says things are going really well.

Almost too well, in fact.

“We had quality dancing this past week that is usually seen in the finals,” he said. “That’s why we’re sort of throwing some curve balls at them to get them a little bit out of their comfort zones.”

“It’s certainly gotten bigger, in terms of the production values,” added Bergeron,  who has been with the show since its debut. Discussing how Dancing has evolved over 14 seasons, he said, “That’s something that you hear Kelly [Monaco] and Drew [Lachey] and Emmitt [Smith] talk about … The training required to do the dances and all of that is essentially the same, but the spectacle of it has gotten bigger, and the bar has been raised in terms of what you do in a dance.”

“I think we’re only probably two seasons away from bungee jumping and rocket launches.”

It’s no wonder, then, that Bergeron has no plans to leave his post anytime soon.

“I love live TV,” he said. “I love the variety-reality hybrid of this. I think I’m under contract [until 2015]. If the show is on, I’ll still be with it.”

As for where he keeps his Emmy, Bergeron revealed, “I have it, appropriately enough, right over the TV on a mantel.”

Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars airs Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC.

Talk about waltzing the weight off.

Bristol Palin wowed the crowds not only with her Cha- Cha but also with her new super slim figure on the Dancing With The Stars premiere.

But she isn’t the only celebrity who has Paso Doble-d the pounds away. Celebuzz is looking at the weight loss winners of the reality dance show.

So who dropped the most?

Kelly Osbourne, 27, had a complete body makeover when she was a contestant in 2009.

She lost 40 pounds through a combination of gruelling dance rehearsals and learning how to eat healthier, which she thanks her dance partner Louis Van Amstel for teaching her.

But by far the biggest weight loss wonders were Kirstie Alley, 61, and Gladys Knight, 68.

Alley lost a whopping 100-pounds in total, but it wasn’t all from training on the show. The former Cheers star put it down to organic food and dance.

Knight, on the other hand, appeared to shrink in front of viewers eyes. The legendary singer shed an incredible 60 pounds during her stint on the 14th season of the show.

A few years ago, it seemed like Cheers was one of those shows, like M*A*S*H, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, or Frasier (Cheers’ own spinoff) that was going to be a staple of late-night TV forever, its 275 episodes a permanent part of TV’s atmosphere.

Today, however, Cheers‘ place in the TV firmament seems less certain. After all, as of this weekend, it’s 30 years old (it debuted on Sept. 30, 1982). It’s not as hip in its content as the more subversive, satirical Simpsons or Seinfeld, or as cutting-edge in form as laughtrack-free mockumentary sitcoms like The Office or Modern Family. Younger viewers simply may not be aware of what a landmark Cheers was, or how it made all those other shows possible.

“Cheers was an enormous influence on comedy, and an influence very much for the positive,” Huffington Post TV critic Maureen Ryan told Celebuzz.

“It was incredibly sharp and literate and well acted. It raised the bar in terms of what comedy could be, and the best thing an aspiring TV comedy writer could do is watch that show,” she added.

Those sentiments are echoed by such accomplished comedy writers and and performers as Amy Poehler, whose current Parks and Recreation is unimaginable without the example set by Cheers. Fans of the series should visit GQ‘s website, which just posted a wonderful, epic oral history of the show, featuring recollections from nearly every star and writer. Those who aren’t yet fans, read on for eight reasons why Cheers still matters and why it still holds up 30 years later.

1. It created lasting stars. Among those made famous by Cheers are Ted Danson (currently heading the cast of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Kirstie Alley (currently on Dancing With the Stars), Kelsey Grammer (currently starring in Boss), Shelley Long (occasionally guest-starring as Ed O’Neill‘s ex-wife on Modern Family), and Woody Harrelson (whose recent movies include Zombieland and The Messenger, for which he earned an Oscar nomination).

Then there are others who are less household names but eternally recognizable faces, including Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger, Bebe Neuwirth, and George Wendt, who, for the rest of his life, will never have to pay for a drink and will be greeted with a rousing group shout of “Norm!” every time he enters a bar.

2. It was based on a brilliant, endlessly adaptable premise. There had been workplace sitcoms before Cheers, but Cheers was the first one that suggested that any ad hoc people who spent enough time in one place together, whether they worked there or not, constituted a family. That was true of Seinfeld and Friends (substitute a diner or coffeehouse for a bar), and it’s true of the extended families of The Office, Parks and Recreation and Community.

3. It created fully-rounded characters whom viewers came to regard as family members. ”What the show did was give viewers an array of characters we could care deeply about, and it also made people care about those people’s relationships with each other,” Huffington Post‘s Ryan told Celebuzz.

“This was not the standard way in which comedy operated back in the day, but it’s very present in how many of TV’s best comedies have worked in subsequent years, and I think that’s largely the influence of Cheers. Why did we care about Ross and Rachel on Friends, why do we care about the citizens of Pawnee [on Parks and Recreation]? Because Cheers provided an example of how you deepen and enrich the bond between audience and show — you tell funny jokes, sure, you entertain, but you also have a heart and a story that is going somewhere.”

4. It worked as both self-contained episodes and as a long, soapy arc. Watching any of them today, out of order on late-night TV, each Cheers episode works on its own. But Cheers also marks the beginning of primetime comedies with long-gestating storylines, with characters who grow and change over time instead of remaining static. The will-they-or-won’t-they-hook-up plotline between Sam (Danson) and Diane (Long) in the first few seasons was the model for every show since that’s tried to milk the sexual tension between its male and female leads for as long as it can, without losing the spark of conflict (and the audience’s interest) if they do finally become a couple.

“It raised the stakes in the characters’ relationships over time,” Ryan told Celebuzz. “That simply didn’t happen, for the most part, on any TV shows, but in its own stealth way, Cheers made it safe for shows to be serialized, to have people’s lives change, to have dramatic developments reverberate for months or years.”

Eventually, the notion of a serial plotline that you had to follow from the beginning was everywhere, even in unclassifiable dramas like Lost.

5. It was the model for how to replace a beloved character who leaves — twice. When Nicholas Colasanto died, his sweet-but-dimwitted Coach was replaced by a similar but younger character, Woody Boyd (Harrelson). And when Long left, Diane was replaced by a character who was her polar opposite, Alley’s Rebecca Howe. Both transitions worked remarkably well and gave the show several more years of life. In fact, it’s hard to think of another sitcom that has replaced primary cast members as gracefully — not NewsRadio, nor The Office, nor Two and a Half Men.

6. It made Thursday the most important night of the television week. Believe it or not, in the 1970s, people used to stay home and watch TV on Saturdays. CBS had an unbeatable lineup of sitcoms that included The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Bob Newhart Show. ABC had frothy, hour-long escapist shows Love Boat and Fantasy Island. But the rise of Cheers helped make Thursday into TV’s top night Augmented later by The Cosby Show and eventually by Seinfeld, Thursday night became what NBC rightly touted as “must-see TV.”

Soon, its Thursday hits were commanding top dollar among advertisers. It didn’t hurt that Hollywod studios realized that Thursdays are when many people decide which movies to see on the weekend, making Thursdays especially lucrative for film ads. The other networks began moving their strongest shows to Thursdays to compete, making the night an ad bonanza for all of them. Still, NBC held on for a very long time, with its ’90s Thursday schedule including such mainstays as Seinfeld, Friends, and the drama ER. It’s only in the last decade or so that NBC’s Thursday dominance has slipped, though it’s still the night you can watch the network’s smartest comedies — Community, The Office, 30 Rock, and Parks and Recreation. And it’s still the most prestigious night for TV sponsors.

7. It never jumped the shark. Sure, some people prefer the Diane years over the Rebecca years, or the Coach years over the Woody years, but the quality stayed remarkably consistent over 11 seasons, thanks to the working rhythms developed by the cast (who knew their characters inside and out) and the top-notch writing staff.

“I attended a taping once,” Denver Post TV critic Joanne Ostrow recalled to Celebuzz.

“They rewrote lines on the fly, trying out various ways to make the funny jokes funnier. There they were, hitting marks, making entrances, spouting lines, writers on the side rewriting even during the taping, suggesting new lines, and it all went off like a little play,” she said.

By the time Cheers went off the air in 1993 (only because Danson was tired of doing it, and no one wanted to do the show without him), it was still one of TV’s top-rated and best-loved series. Forty million people watched the finale, an unimaginable number for any comedy now.

8. It championed a sophisticated style of writing that became a dominant style in sitcoms. Cheers punchlines were full of lofty references to highbrow culture, but placed in context so that, even if you didn’t get the reference, you’d still get the laugh. The writers didn’t talk down to the audience. Often, the writers would avoid addressing sticky topics directly, assuming that the audience would figure out what was really being said. That’s a writing style that bore fruit most clearly on Frasier (which, naturally, was staffed with writers who’d worked on Cheers), but also shows like Friends, Will & Grace (both of which depended on the light touch of Cheers director James Burrows), Seinfeld, The Office, and The Simpsons and Modern Family (both of which have included writer/producers who had worked on Cheers).

Poehler continues to study Cheers on her downtime. “It’s the only show I have on my DVR, and I watch it all the time,” she told GQ. “Not only because it’s comforting, but also because I relate to that feeling of loving the people you work with.” She added, “I hope and assume that every good comedy writer, no matter the age, has a moment where they discover how great Cheers is. And I would encourage any young person getting into comedy to sit down and watch the best television show that’s ever been on, and see the structure of it. Because their jokes were evergreen.”

Kirstie Alley knows how hard it is to handle media scrutiny over weight struggles.

The Dancing With the Stars: All Stars contestant is speaking out to support Lady Gaga’s, 26, efforts to start a body revolution – after the pop star revealed that she had gained 25 pounds in the past year.

“I say more power to her,” Alley confessed to Ok! Magazine.

What did the actress call Lady Gaga?

Alley added, “she is such a role model for millions o girls in the world and she should be whatever weight she wants to be and nobody should have to starve themselves.”

The Fat Actress star, 61, explained that “sometimes when you first come out in the industry and you have an image and you’re all skinny and you have all this fashion and you become an icon because you’re a stick and then – she gained what 30 pounds? Who cares!”

Gaga’s body revolution – which she started on her website on Monday – is exactly what young women need today, according to Alley.

“I think it’s good that she’s saying this and starting the body revolution. I know dancers and ballerinas and [they’re] expected to be shredded and skinny and there’s no way to do it naturally.”

It looks like the Dancing with the Stars romance bug has bit Kirstie Alley and Romeo! Well, not really, but the two stars definitely enjoyed playing a smooch prank on the paparazzi.

Kirstie, 60, was photographed kissing Romeo, 21, as the former Nickelodeon star left rehearsals for the hit ABC dance show. After planting a smooch on him, Kirstie giggled and ran back into her rehearsal space while Romeo joked with the paparazzi. “Romeo and I got bored today so we decided to put on a little freak show for the paps,” Kirstie tweeted later in the day. Romeo was voted off DWTS earlier this month but perhaps he is gearing up for a special re-appearance on the show.

After seven weeks of booty-shaking performances, reality star and Celebuzz celebrity blogger Kendra Wilkinson was voted off DWTS on Tuesday night.

In an emotional good-bye, Kendra thanked her dancing partner Louis van Amstel for sticking with her and “not fighting.”

“Baby Hank, I’m coming home for you!” the 25-year-old mom exclaimed. “I may not the best dancer, but I am the best mom.”

In viewer votes, Kendra was in the bottom three with Kirstie Alley and another Celebuzz favorite, Chelsea Kane. Kendra had the third-lowest judges score of the week, scoring 31 points to Kirstie and Romeo‘s 30.

It’s Tuesday, so you know what that means. Time to say goodbye to a couple on Dancing With The Stars. Monday was not the best night for Kirstie Alley who had another two-step malfunction. Last week she fell down and Monday a shoe fell off mid-dance! Could that cost her the mirror ball trophy?

Or could  it be Kendra Wilkinson‘s time to go, who found herself at the bottom of the scoreboard after her Viennese waltz with Louis van Amstel (a little tough there judges).

Hey guys! So, I’m bummed that Mike Catherwood and I were voted off last week but I’m so proud of him and how hard he worked! On a happier note, I am sooo excited to announce that I’ll be recapping the each week’s dances for Celebuzz!

Since I’ll be watching the dances LIVE each week, I figured I could give all you guys a breakdown of each couples’ moves! I can’t wait to get started!!

So, who do I think ruled the dance floor on Monday night? And whose days are numbered?

Wendy Williams & Tony Dovalani:
So far from the judges, Wendy has caught a lot of flack for not showing her personality but despite what the judges had to say, I was really proud of her performance and she’s been getting better week to week. She seriously works non-stop! A lot of people don’t realize that she’s out in New York shooting her show, then she takes a red-eye out to LA on Sunday nights to do everything that needs to be done before Monday’s show. The woman is just working her buns off and I think she’s doing great!

Romeo & Chelsie Hightower:
I thought these two did a good job! There’s some sexual tension between them that’s for sure! They’re back and forth because one minute they’ll be really into each other then the next they’ll talk back then they’re getting along and it’s cute to watch, but I thought overall they did good and tonight we definitely saw a more grown-up side of Romeo.

Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chermkosvy:
These two started off a bit shakey after Maksim’s fall, (due to his knee), but it’s seriously so common for dancers to be in pain and just keep on going. We all definitely have that “The show must go on” mentality, but it’s totally different when it’s a celebrity because they can get lost so easily, so I definitely applaud her for continuing on! They definitely realized “This happened and there’s nothing we can do about it, so we just need to move forward,” and were able to pull off a nice rumba.

Chris Jericho & Cheryl Burke:
Ok, I just have to say it: Chris and Cheryl are my favorite couple on the show! They’re both just such great people and I respect them so much and I really respect Chris after tonight. I feel like a lot of people just see him as this fun, outgoing guy, but after Monday night’s episode, we’ve seen a very different side of him. We saw where he’s come from, his struggle and what it was like losing his mom, so it was really beautiful to see Chris as Chris, and not “that wrestler guy.”

Kendra Wilkinson & Louis Van Amstel:
I love Kendra so much! She and I have so much in common because we’re both not “girly girls”,” and we like to make fun of ourselves and don’t necessarily have the best manners in the world! But tonight she was such a sexy elegant woman on the floor! I was so proud of her! They did have a little bit a prop malfunction with the smoke covering way too much of her instead of highlighting her, but they got through it, she did a great job and was just awesome!

Hines Ward & Kym Johnson:
OMG! Hines seriously threw the place upside down! The crowd just went nuts for him! He reminds me so much of my partner Kyle Massey from last season. Kyle just had that affect on people, where he could make the crowd go wild, and get them involved and that’s exactly how Hines is. Hines is just a joy to watch, you can’t help but smile when you watch him dance (especially with his mom in the audience!) This week was just such a cute side of Hines to see.

Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff:
Ralph is absolutely one of the best dancers this season, that can pretty much go without saying. However, tonight the judges kind of picked him a part a little bit, and told him a lot of the things they think he should fix, which was a lot of stuff with his hands and whatnot. What I don’t think many people realize though, is that Karina is making these dances really hard for him and what he’s showing makes it look so easy. He’s not a dancer, so add that on to the fact he’s dancing with the unbelievably sexy Karina Smirnoff as his wife his sitting right there watching him! Sure, he didn’t get the highest score but he still pulled off an amazing routine!

Petra Nemcova & Dmitry Chaplin:
Petra is the sweetest person on this planet! Whether you’ve never met her or you’ve known her forever, she’s the kind of person who is nice to you no matter what! She’s so funny, she has to kiss you on the face three times and that’s just her thing. I seriously have a girl crush on her, but besides that, she just did a great job. They danced to a beautiful Josh Groban song and it was just stunning.

Chelsea Kane & Mark Ballas:
Chelsea is one of my favorite girls to hang out with! You can definitely get that vibe from her since she’s a Disney girl, she’s kind of afraid to shake it and get sexy but I thought she definitely pulled it off tonight! After last week she asked if I could help her and of course I did! She came running up to me afterward and said, “Did I do a good job? Was I sexy enough?” And of course she was! I thought she just did great.

Sugar Ray Leonard & Anna Trebunskaya:
Last week was kind of tough for him, but he came out this week swinging, literally! I think that last week put a fire under his butt and definitely put him in gear to prepare for this week. He also improved his score by five points, which may not seem like a lot, but he has definitely made some huge improvements just since last week.

Mike Catherwood the KROQ radio host who is better known by his on-air handle, “Psycho Mike,” was sent home by America after scoring the lowest combined scores for his first and second week dances. (No celebs were sent home for the first week of dances.)

Mike, who was partnered up with Lacey Shwimmer, danced a jive number on Monday night and tied with Wendy Williams (who, interestingly enough, got her start as a radio host) with a low score of 17. However, Mike scored the lowest two-week total with a combined score of 30.

“It sucks to be sent home first!” Catherwood said. However, he admitted that DWTS had been a “pleasurable experience” and that Lacey is “equally if not more beautiful on the inside.”

While he wasn’t exactly as nimble as Kirstie Alley on the dancefloor, he did improve quite a bit from his first week’s dance.

Season 12 of Dancing with the Stars is officially here! America’s favorite dancing show kicked off its new season with a live 2-hour premiere on Monday night that got everyone talking.

While no dancing couple will be sent home this week, their performances were ranked by the panel of judges. Ralph Macchio (aka the Karate Kid) and Karina Smirnoff came out on top with a total score of 24 while Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovisky followed them closely with a score of 23. Meanwhile, former Jonas star Chelsea Kane and her partner Mark Ballas came in third with a combined score of 22. Fan favorites Kendra Wilkinson and Wendy Williams didn’t fare as well at the judges’ table but luckily they all have another week to work on their dancing game.

Kirstie was clearly excited that her performance went over well with the judges and the audience. “You are all saying such sweet and complementary things to me,” Kirstie wrote on Twitter shortly after the live show. “Thank u all so much.. I feel like Cinderella tonight…[dance partner Maksim] is amazing.”

With its innovative new approach to narcissistic self-promotion, it isn’t surprising that Twitter has drawn in celebrities like moths to a flame.

Sure, there are the celebs that we follow just because we like them (or because we want to follow someone ironically and have people think we are “clever”) but, perhaps more importantly, there are the celebrities who we love to hate-follow. You always vow to unfollow them after an inappropriate remark or inane tweet, but you just can’t seem to bring yourself to hit “unfollow” and look away from these ever-unfolding Tweet-wrecks. We are just too addicted to their drama to stop paying attention to them.

Guess we know where Kirstie Alley stands on the hot-button issue of immigration. At least if you’re a paparazzo.

Apparently weary of professional shutterbugs documenting her steady decline, the former Cheers actress is reportedly snooping into the paps’ immigration status in a presumed bid to become the Minutemen Project’s first celebrity spokesperson:

“Kirstie Alley has long had a love/hate relationship with the paparazzi. Now there are reports the actress has hired a private eye to investigate the paps she hates. That includes delving into immigration records, hoping to uncover illegals—many of the L.A.-based paparazzi are of Mexican or Central American descent— and have them deported.”

Hmm; maybe the Department of Homeland Security should just hire Alley to stand guard at various checkpoints. What self-respecting would-be immigrant would try to gain entry into the country, if she was the first thing they encountered?

Despite a series of apologies from Southwest Airlines, film director Kevin Smith remains outraged over his recent ouster from a Southwest Airlines flight as a result of his extra large body size.  While Southwest claims to have no specific policy banning the XXLs, Celebuzz has learned that the “Symbol of Freedom” airline actually has a fairly extensive list of celebrity passengers that are virtually banned from being seated on their airline.

Kirstie Alley — longtime national treasure and a woman who once had an epic spaz-out on Twitter, telling the whole Internet to ‘RRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN’ to Sonic for a free Root Beer Float promotion — is apparently diving into the fitness-related micro-blogging game (actually, we think she just made that game up) by launching a new site called Phitter, dedicated to people encouraging each other’s weight loss, 140 characters at a time.

This amazing new site describes itself accordingly:

“Phitter is a phitness phocused community and a gift from Kirstie to encourage talk or ‘Phits’ about health, diet & exercise, while making new Phriends in the Phitter-mmunity and having Phabulous Phun… Phew!”

Despite nothing about this making any kind of sense (especially “Phitter-mmunity” — maybe the worst/best ‘pun’ ever conceived), we’re pretty sure that Kirstie Alley should be made Queen of the Internet because we sort of want to blow the rest of phorever sitting around, sucking down free root beer floats, and staring deeply into this website.
