Jake Pavelka is trying to do things differently this time around.

Since being romantically linked to Kristin Chenoweth, the former Bachelor star has managed to keep the relationship private.

“I’m not in a ‘high profile relationship,’” Pavelka said at Warner Bros. TV’s 25th Celebration at The Bachelor mansion in Agoura Hills, Calif. over the weekend.

“I had a very high profile relationship and it’s put some unnecessary strain on something that could potentially be really beautiful. It didn’t work out so well last time,” he added, referring to the failed courtship with season 14 Bachelor winner Vienna Girardi.

Without spilling too much, Pavelka, 34, did speak highly of his new ladylove — the two first met at the American Humane Association’s Hero Dog Awards last October.

“Kristin and I have been spending time together. She’s wonderful, absolutely wonderful.”

Pavelka also dished on his version of a perfect date.

“Oh man, you know what? Sunday afternoon. Laying in bed all day, getting takeout, watching movies, not doing anything, cell phones off. That is my favorite.”

But don’t expect the Dallas native to join Chenoweth, 44, in a song anytime soon.

“I do everyone a favor and never sing. I don’t even sing in the shower.”

The current season of The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8PM on ABC.

Country chic was the theme of the red carpet at the American Country Awards.

From Carrie Underwood’s shimmery peach dress and Jewel’s hot pink sequined gown to Miranda Lambert’s metallic mini dress, country’s finest glimmered in sparkly dresses.

Hostess with the mostest, Kristin Chenoweth sought to beat Anne Hathaway’s Oscar wardrobe-change record, donning an array of colors and styles throughout the evening.

In addition to sparkly styles, color was everywhere. From cobalt and emerald to hot pink, country’s leading ladies created a red carpet rainbow. Balancing out the brights were LeAnn Rimes and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott in sexy LBDs.

Cutouts were the night’s other big trend, with Carmen Electra donning two different slitted styles, and Scott, Natasha Bedingfield and Lauren Alaina rocking dresses with cutout necklines.

The cast and creators of FOX’s New Girl should be smiling this morning as they are seemingly the only scripted show who remained steady in the ratings on Tuesday. Though CBS won the night overall, their shows did take a dip of between nine and 16 percent. NBC’s comedies also suffered from declining ratings as their usually strong lead in of The Voice was a recap special. Meanwhile FOX’s other comedies, including freshman series The Mindy Project and Ben and Kate, were all down more than 20 percent from last week. The premiere of the CW’s Hart of Dixie was steady in its key demographic of 18-34 but down 13 percent from it’s debut last year. [EW]

What award is bringing the stars out to salute Ellen DeGeneres? 

Emmy host Jimmy Kimmel along with Kristin Chenoweth, Steve Harvey and Lily Tomlin will honor DeGeneres as she receives the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Oct. 22 at the Kennedy Center in Washington. Also on hand to honor the funny woman will be John Krasinski, Sean Hayes and Jazon Mraz. The show will be broadcast on PBS stations on Oct. 30. [AP]

ABC’s new musical drama Nashville is teaming up with Taylor Swift’s record label, Big Machine Records. It was announced that one song from the three to seven musical performances per episode will be released to iTunes by Big Machine. Two songs will be released from the premiere – “Love Like Mine” as sung by Hayden Panettiere and “Back Home” performed by Charles Esten. “Telescope” performed by Panettiere on Episode 2 will be the first song sent to country radio. Nashville premieres Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 10 PM on ABC.  [THR/Billboard]

Strike Back will be back on Cinemax for Season 3 in 2013. The Emmy-nominated series will shoot in South Africa and Hungary for its new 10-episode season. The currently running second season finds the team of counterterrorism operatives tracking stolen nuclear triggers while facing their own issues. Adult Swim favorites, Children’s Hospital and National Terrorist Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle (NTSF:SD:SUV), have been picked up for new seasons. Children’s Hospital, created by Rob Corddry, will be back for Season 5. NTSD:SD:SUV, which focuses on government agents protecting the city, is making its Season 3 return. [Deadline]

The Hollywood Reporter has once again compiled its list of showrunners to watch for 2013. Included on the list are House of Lies’ Matthew Carnahan, Nashville’s Dee Johnson, The Mindy Project’s Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton, and Arrow’s Andrew Kreisberg and Revolution’s Eric Kripke among others. Sahara Davenport, 27, also known as Antoine Ashley, passed away due to heart failure on Oct. 1 in Baltimore. Davenport, is best known for his appearance on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Logo released the following statement: “Logo is profoundly saddened by the passing of Antoine Ashley who fans around the world knew and loved as Sahara Davenport. He was an amazing artist and entertainer who’ll be deeply missed by his Logo family. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, especially his boyfriend Karl, in their time of need.”

Kristin Chenoweth was excited about her new job: A juicy, recurring role on CBS’ The Good Wife playing Peggy Byrne, a political reporter. But all that changed last July when she was filming.

An enormous tarp attached to metal beams suspended 35 feet in the air fell and slammed the diminutive (at 4 feet, 11 inches and 91 pounds) actress to the ground. She was knocked unconscious and awoke to find EMT and co-star Josh Charles attending to her injuries.

“I fell on a curb and suffered a skull fracture and neck and back and rib issues,” the Oklahoma native told Celebuzz. “I’ve been recuperating for eight weeks. So, you can see me do two scenes on The Good Wife, which bums me out but that’s the way life goes.”

How’s Chenoweth doing now and how has the accident changed her?

Although she’s feeling much better she’s still not completely healed. “For the most part, my neck and rib issues are still very prevalent,” she explained.

“My goal is getting back into life and trying to get back to work, but very slowly because I have to wear my neck brace,” she continued. “But, I’m feeling a lot better and thankful to be here.”

The accident forced the actress who has successfully navigated Broadway (Wicked), television (FOX’s Glee and the short-lived GCB on ABC) and movies (The Pink Panther) to reassess her career path and decide what she really wants to focus on. Not surprisingly that turns out to be singing.

“I’ve had a lot of time to think lately,” Chenoweth, 44, told us. “And one of the things that I want to do, that I love so much is singing. I feel like God didn’t give me the gift of math or being a very good driver, but this is my gift so I want to concentrate on that.”

“I’ve always been singing since I can remember, but concert work is so important to me. Obviously, I love TV and movies but I want to get back on that stage, because I do think that’s what I’m supposed to do.”

Celebuzz spoke more with the actress and singer about what life has been like on the mend since her accident and returning to Glee.

Celebuzz: It must have been hard to lie in bed in for two months.
Kristin Chenoweth: I hated it. It knocked me out. I’m just glad it’s over. I feel like I’m over the hump. I go at 200 miles per hour and then to go to zero, it’s hard. I thought and thought about all the things you don’t want to think about. But it’s actually been kind of a blessing. I said to my mom, “Why me?” And she said, “Why not you? You’re just like everybody else, you’re human and things happen. You’re not special. It’s just life.” And that kind of helped me when I had that “why me?” thing.

CB: Were there any bible verses that helped you?
KC: I have bible verses all over my house. My mom taped some to my closet door, so when I would wake up in the morning I would see them. But, the thing I kept quoting was Dolly Parton who said, “If you want to have the rainbows, you’ve got to put up with the rain.” And that’s kind of where I’m at. You don’t get to have it all great all the time.

CB: Any favorite TV shows while you were laid up?
KC: Any of The Real Housewives, Here Comes Honey Boo, and Storage Wars. I love Caroline Manzo from Jersey Housewives. I went on Twitter and I guess I started a Twitter war. I wrote, “I love you Caroline.” And she tweeted me back and then all these people started saying, “How dare you like her! She’s bad news. We’re never going to see another show you’re in.” I was like, “What?” People can be mean, because they can hide behind their Twitter name. I’ve gotten very fond of the block button.

CB: Any more Glee appearances planned?
KC: They’ve not asked, but I sure did love playing her. She was such a fun part. I love the cast so much.

CB: Did you feel like a mama bear?
KC: Very much so and I took on that role because I knew they’re young, they’re starting out and it’s going to be hard because they’ve had such success and you know there are ebbs and flows in this career. I’m especially fond of a couple of them. I don’t know, I just want them all to do well.

The Good Wife Season 4 premiere airs Sunday at 9 PM on CBS.

Actress Kristin Chenoweth is “doing great” after sustaining a head injury while filming The Good Wife in July, according to her former Good Christian Belles co-star Marisol Nichols.

“She’s doing great,” Nichols, 38, revealed at the Pre-ALMA Awards Charity Dinner in Hollywood on Saturday. “She falls all the time and bounces right back up. She’s amazing.”

“We’re supposed to have dinner,” she added. “I just literally flew back a couple of hours ago but I’m dying to see her.”

Nichols worked with Chenoweth earlier this year on the short-lived ABC dramedy GCB, which was canceled after one season.

While she’s bummed the show didn’t last long than it did — “It’s the nature of the business,” she said — Nichols already has her sights set on the future.

“I’m currently looking at a program that is in Spain and all Latin American countries and I’m adapting it for American television, so I’m excited about that,” she revealed. “Other than that, [I'm] just looking to find the next show.”

Chenoweth, 44, was hospitalized after a piece of lighting equipment struck her on the head while filming a scene for The Good Wife. Though she was ultimately forced to pull out of the show, she did return to film a brief cameo with co-star Alan Cumming in August.

For the first time since her horrific accident on the set of CBS’ The Good Wife, Kristin Chenoweth made stepped into the public eye with an appearance on Live! with Kelly and Michael.

The Broadway star chatted with co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan about her neck injury, revealing she’s on the mend but still “issue ridden.”

“I have a skull fracture, and a rib issue and a neck issue and a hip issue,” Chenoweth explained. “I’m just issue-ridden. But I’m getting better and I wear my neck brace on and off and I’m trying to build these muscles back up but this [her head] is healing.”

How does she describe the accident and her recovery thus far?

Chenoweth sustained multiple injuries after lighting equipment attached to metal rods fell into her. “It knocked me in the face and slammed me down to the ground,” she recalled. “We were shooting outside for The Good Wife and the back of my head got hit on a curb so I was out cold.”

“I woke up to the EMT workers,” she continued. “Josh Charles (who plays Will Gardner on the CBS drama)…was holding my hand. He’s my angel…. And then I woke up in Bellevue [Hospital] and then I saw a lot of prisoners attached to their gurneys and I thought ‘Oh, the police are all here to see me.’ No they were there for the criminals.”

Joking with Ripa about the clothes she was in when she woke up, the diminutive star said, “I was wearing my outfit from The Good Wife. I think I might have stayed in it a couple of days. They gave it to me, which I thought was nice.”

“If this is what you got to do for free clothes, then send another lighting piece down on my head,” Chenoweth added in jest.

Though she has had some speech and memory issues, “that’s getting better,” she revealed. “There’s still some pain and issues but I just feel like I’m so blessed and lucky and grateful because it could have been a lot worse.”

Chenoweth recently filmed a short scene with co-star Alan Cummings after temporarily leaving the show due to her injuries.

Kristin Chenoweth has returned to The Good Wife following a horrific on-set accident in July that forced her to temporarily leave the show.

The 44-year-old actress took to her Twitter to share the good news, writing:

Chenoweth was injured on the set of the CBS legal drama this summer when she was was struck on the head by a piece of lighting equipment.

Witnesses on the Brooklyn, N.Y., set said the Wicked performer was knocked unconscious and suffered a seizure. She was later spotted out in a neck brace.

In August, the Emmy-winner announced that the would be temporarily leaving the show to recover, telling Celebuzz, “It is with deep regret [that I have] to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time.”

“(I’m) getting better slowly and thank you everyone for your concern,” she added.

Chenoweth booked a recurring role in June as a reporter investigating Peter Florrick’s (played by Sex and the City star Chris Noth) campaign, though the network has yet to say if her character’s involvement in the story will be cut down due to her injury.

The Good Wife Season 4 premieres Sept. 30 at 9 PM ET on CBS.

Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth has had to pull out of television series The Good Wife after a horrific on-set accident last month.

Chenoweth, 44, revealed on Monday that she will not be able to continue with her guest role on the popular CBS legal series.

“It is with deep regret [that I have] to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time,” she told Celebuzz via her rep.

“(I’m) getting better slowly and thank you everyone for your concern,” the tiny actress said.

What does that mean for Chenoweth’s guest role?

While the award-winning Broadway star was meant to appear throughout the upcoming season, she will now only be seen on the season 4 premiere September 30. Though, she has told fans that she may be back.

The exact nature of Chenoweth’s injury remains unclear, but reports from the July 11 accident suggested the star suffered a head injury after she was struck by a piece of lighting equipment.

Witnesses on the Brooklyn, N.Y., set said the Wicked performer was knocked unconscious and suffered a seizure.

Kristin Chenoweth, the Tony Award-winning actress and singer, was injured on Wednesday after falling from scaffolding on the set of the series The Good Wife, but thankfully has been released from the hospital to heal at home.

This isn’t the first time the tiny Broadway star has injured herself on the job. In 2011, she injured her back on the set of Glee when she tumbled down a set of concrete stairs. Ouch!

While shooting as Achilles for the movie Troy, Brad Pitt tore his Achilles tendon. Lame jokes aside, this injury delayed the movie by several weeks.

Hilary Swank has perhaps the funniest on-set injury to date. During filming of P.S. I Love You, she was hit in the face with Gerard Butler‘s suspenders when they broke during an on-set striptease for her character. The suspenders whacked her on the head, and she had to get three stitches.

Actor Chris Hemsworth revealed he gave himself a black eye with Tom Hiddleston’s whip on the set of Thor. The hunky star admitted he ignored warnings to be careful with the weapon.

Kristin Chenoweth was knocked unconscious and rushed to the hospital following accident while filming an episode of CBS’ The Good Wife.

According to TMZ, the 43-year-old actress was injured on the show’s Brooklyn set when she was struck by a piece of fallen lighting equipment. A witness to the incident said Chenewoth was “hit square in the head” and appeared to be “knocked out cold.” The actress’ rep says she was struck by a falling piece of scaffolding.

“I thought she was dead at first,” said the onlooker.

Additional reports indicate the multi-talented actress may have also have suffered a seizure.

A source told the New York Post she suffered the seizure after the accident at around 5 p.m. ET. Photos taken on the scene show Chenoweth being attended to while lying on a stretcher while clutching the hand of a woman by her side.  Paramedics transported the GCB star to New York City’s Bellevue Hospital by ambulance where she is currently listed in stable condition.

Oxygen’s The Glee Project continues to bring on more Glee stars as mentors. The competition series adds Kevin McHale, who plays Artie on the Fox hit, for the July 3 episode. McHale focuses on the new theme of “adaptability.” McHale’s costars Lea Michele, Samuel Larsen, Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera appear on Tuesday’s episode. [THR]

NBC’s Smash continues to staff up. The series just added Off-Broadway actor and TV newbie, Andy Mientus, for Season 2. He plays a poor kid from Brooklyn with dreams of writing for Broadway. Oy, let’s hope we don’t have another poorly done Ellis (Jaime Cepero) on our hands — just when we thought that was done with. This casting follows that of singer-actress Jennifer Hudson in a major recurring role and Newsies (and former pop singer) Jeremy Jordan as a new series regular. [TVLine]

Celebuzz had the pleasure of talking with Jennifer Aspen, of one the GCB ladies, to get an exclusive inside look at the new show and her connection Glee connection!

The new show created by Robert Harling, who wrote and created Steel Magnolias and The First Wives Club, follows the lives of a group of southern beauties who are reconnecting with each other years after the drama and antics of their high school days.

Everyone is so excited for GCB! Can you tell me a little bit about the show and how you became a part of it?
Thank you! I’m hearing that so much and it’s so exciting! I wanna tell you that I love it so much. I love this project.
I was looking for a really great show with great writing, I wanted to play a southern woman, and I wanted something that was both comedic and dramatic. I saw this project and it’s original title and I saw that Darren Starr was doing it and Bobby (Robert Harling) and I was like, “Oh my god! That’s it!” I said that was the one, we went after it and I was the first one cast! It was so exciting!

Speaking of creator Robert Harling, I see that he was also the writer of Steel Magnolias, The First Wives Club, and Soapdish. What is it like working with someone who has given southern women and women in general such a strong voice?
Well you feel like the luckiest girl in the world, seriously. He is such a gentleman and so humble. He really is a southern gentleman. He has like a pecan farm in the south! (Laughs) You would get these scripts and they were so good and the table reads would just be so killer each time. You know the talent on the show is extraordinary. I filmed my favorite episode of television i’ve ever done. I got a script, I read it at about 10 o’clock at night. Couldn’t fall asleep until 6 in the morning. It was that good.

How is it working with such a strong cast of women around you?
Extraordinary. You don’t sleep on your job. I can tell you that much. Everyone shows up to play, big time. These are all accomplish comediennes for the most part and can also do drama really well. We all can do that tone. It was extraordinary. The amazing thing is that Kristen Chenoweth and Annie Potts, they are big time right? They are so humble. They are doing great work and they are just there with the rest of us. No frills, except that everyone cared so much about making it great. It truly was a great experience. I know it sounds all happy honey-pot, but it’s true!

Speaking of Kristen, you two both had recurring roles on Glee. Was that the first time you had worked together and gotten to know each other?
No, we actually missed eachother by a day! We were aware of eachother, but the first place we actually met was in Dallas the day before the table read for this show. We were both really excited to meet eachother. We had respected eachothers work from Glee. I wanted to know how she always had such a great looking tan. I would be in the makeup chair at Glee and I would see pictures of her from like the day before. I would look at her and say wow she has such a great tan. I know that’s crazy, but that’s what I remember.

What was it like to be on Glee?
You know I will say this, Glee had a similar feeling to me. We shot that in that first season of Glee, the very first 9 or 10 episodes. You could tell, you know I was looking for really great writing. Glee had that same feeling. It wasn’t on the air yet. No one had seen it. We were just in this pocket, making great television, and you could feel it. It was a similar feeling.

Yeah, there is a vibe happening with GCB that is definitely similar where you know something great is coming on.
Well you know, Ryan (Murphy) wrote that part for me. I showed up the first day and he was like, “how are you feeling?” and said “um….LUCKY!” I could tell I was a part of something special and I was really lucky to be there for that.

Are any of the characters on the show, or your character in particular, similar to anyone that you have encountered in real life?
Well you know, the way I work, the character just comes to me inexplicably. I dove into Dallas when we were there. I went to church there. I hung out at Highland Park. I went to Neiman Marcus and out of observing all these women and these places, this girl came. It’s not specific thing, it’s like an immursion and all at once this character is coming out. Then I decided that this is who this character should be. I’m not following one particular person. It’s hard to explain. It’s just arrived from some place and you’re grateful that it’s there.

Can you reveal any guest stars that might be on GCB this season?
Well, Sandra Berhardt! That was really exciting. She’s in our finale. She was so great and it’s such a hilarious part that she plays. I would say that is the thing that got me the most excited. One of the women from Knotts Landing is a guest star on the show. Bobby Harling was very excited about that. But I want to tell you. The men on this show, when you get a full gander at them, they are all over 6 feet tall and they will take your breathe away!

Armed with an umbrella, Kristin Chenoweth was one of the many New Yorkers that braved the elements this week. Despite the gloomy weather, the Glee actress was all smiles as she stepped out in a bright purple top and AquaStop polka dot rain boots.

Word is that Kristin Chenoweth won’t be back for season three of Glee. Sad face!

Creator Ryan Murphy says he’s putting a ban (of sorts) on guest stars and tribute episodes — something the show took a great deal of criticism for this past season. Kristin (who guested on another FOX show this week as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance) says she understands the decision, but that the news is a “bummer.”  

“I think he’s trying to get his show back,” Kristin tells Zap2it. “I think he’s trying to really concentrate on his characters. I actually understand that. I get it. People want to see those characters.”

Even so, she’s sad to see her character go. “Of course it’s a bummer for me because I love April Rhodes,” she adds. “But he needs to get his show back, so I get why he’s doing that.”

It’s not like the pint-size performer has a ton of time to do further guest spots, anyway. She has her first country album, Some Lessons Learned, coming out this September, plus a new ABC show called Good Christian Belles that will air this fall. 

Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars were honored over the weekend at the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles which recognizes and honors the media for their fair,  accurate and inclusive representation of the LGBT community.

Kristin Chenoweth from Glee, Ariel Winter from Modern Family and Celebuzz favorite Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars were all in attendance.

Chenoweth admitted that this particular award means more to her than anything and added ‘A lot of people speak out against the gay and lesbian community, out of fear, out of ignorance. They Simply Don’t know.”

The Broadway beauty chatted with Hollywood Life and revelead her character would indeed be back for a third go round:

“Yeah, I’ll be back in the spring. I have to go do a movie, then I’ll do Glee!”

This is great news for Gleeks! We can’t wait!
