It looks like NYC hasn’t gotten the memo that it’s springtime, but that hasn’t stopped Hollywood stars from stepping out and about.

Krysten Ritter was all smiles as she walked through the set of her new TV show, Assistance, in midtown Manhattan.  The pilot episode is scheduled to premiere on NBC in the fall.

This is Ritter’s latest project after the cancellation of the ABC’s Don’t Trust The B– In Apartment 23, which aired for almost two seasons.

Not far from there, another TV star was showing off her smile. Kendra Wilkinson arrived at her SoHo hotel in a peach and black leather sheath dress after making an appearance on The View this morning to discuss the new show Splash.

Shia Labouf also faced the talk show cameras today. As the actor left The Late Show studio in NYC, he stopped to sign autographs for fans waiting outside for him, despite being burdened with a broken ankle.

Labouf discussed his recent departure from the Broadway production of the play Orphans, also starring Alec Baldwin.

Labouf admitted to tension among the two actors during rehearsal, he said “Alec, I think you’re awesome, man,” straight to the cameras, during the interview.

On the opposite end of the country, Kate Beckinsale, Amy Poehler, and Selma Blair were seen outside shopping and enjoying the spring weather in Hollywood.

TV heaven may be getting two more angels.

On Tuesday, the news broke that ABC has pulled the acclaimed comedy Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 from its Tuesday night lineup. And then on Wednesday, Deadline reported that FOX’s Ben and Kate is seeing a similar fate.

Why are these hysterical series failing?

Ratings. It’s all about the ratings.

Ben and Kate has been getting the lowest ratings during FOX’s new two-hour Tuesday comedy block. And, the second season of Apt. 23 hasn’t been getting promising numbers either, averaging only 2.85 million viewers, as Adweek reported — compared to its average audience of 6.37 million viewers for the first season.

These shows may have loyal fans, but sadly not enough of them. Ben and Kate and Apt. 23 join an illustrious list of other well-done shows that were taken too soon.

For example, Freaks and Geeks only ran on NBC for one season starting in 1999, starring actors who have since moved onto the A-List: James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Jason Segel. And who can forget FOX’s Arrested Development starring yet another famous star, Jason Bateman, that took a hiatus in 2006 before making a comeback on streaming video site, Netflix.

When it comes to ABC’s Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23, anything goes.

Whether it’s forcing a foster child to work as her personal assistant or tricking her neighbor James Van Der Beek into thinking the cast of Dawson’s Creek was still open to a reunion, Chloe (Krysten Ritter) is a total b****. But this week’s episode may take things to a whole new level when Chloe persuades June (Dreama Walker) to come with her to her parents’ house for the holiday — in a wheelchair.

“In order to have a successful family thanksgiving, she makes June get into a wheelchair, and hilarity ensues,” Ritter told Celebuzz. “It’s so ridiculous and wrong. I laughed so hard when I saw it… It’s so funny.”

So why does Chloe hate Thanksgiving so much? ”She thinks it’s a fake holiday, where everyone is pretending to like each other, and they think it’s OK to wear Uggs,” Ritter explained. “It’s against everything she stands for.”

With June’s help, Chloe pulls off one of her most elaborate schemes to date, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be some holiday family drama.

“She and her mother do not get along,” said Ritter. “Chloe is horrible to her mother… She loves her dad. She’s such a daddy’s girl, so it’s kind of twisted and bizarre. And June and her dad had a fling, so there’s some major awkwardness there, but because June is going to be in a wheelchair, it levels the playing field with my mom, and they bond over their wheels.”

Meanwhile, James volunteers at an exclusive celebrity soup kitchen in order to get a photo opp, but he’s unpleasantly surprised when he gets roped into actually working.

And in case you Don’t Trust the B—- fans are wondering, Ritter, whose character just took over People magazine, approves of the magazine’s pick for Sexiest Man Alive. “That boy can dance!” she said of Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike skills.

Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23 airs Tuesdays at 9:30PM ET on ABC.

Meanwhile, the duo pauses to consider what it means to get older as youth culture threatens to pass them by.

What phrase inspires Krysten and Alicia to ponder the aging process?

After a friend (Zak Orth) calls to invite them out for an evening on the town, he signs off of the call with “GDG,” which they later discover is slang for “gotta go.”

Meanwhile, Silverstone and Ritter compare the music of 2012 to that of their heyday — the glorious 1980s — while coming to terms with the world of the living — and loving — that threatens to extinguish their immortality.

Surfing never looked so sexy.

The X Factor UK judge Nicole Scherzinger and Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 star Krysten Ritter were heating up the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico this week when both ladies took up surfing in their teeny bikinis.

Oakley surfer Luke Walsh and his big-wave surfer brother Ian, and Ritter’s beau Brian Geraghty were also close by to give the girls a hand with their boards.

However, they weren’t the only celebs on the beach that day.

Hayden Panettiere and her New York Jets beau Scotty McKnight were also spotted frolicking in the waters nearby.

So who was the more successful surfer: Ritter or Scherzinger?

Pretty skilled at surfing himself, Geraghty 37, was also on hand to help longtime his girlfriend, 30, who was able to get up on her second try in the surf.

Meanwhile, being part-Hawaiian, Scherzinger, 34, had no trouble holding her own with the Oakley pros at their Learn to Ride Surf event.

Krysten Ritter may have nailed the audition to play a swindling party girl on her hit show Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23, but during an interview with Celebuzz, the 30-year-old actress revealed not all her auditions have gone as smoothly.

Opening up about her tryout for a role in 2004′s Aviator starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Ritter admitted the audition actually left her in hives.

“I was so nervous… I was like sweating and had hives. It was the worst thing ever,” she told Celebuzz at Dentyne’s Split2Fit Summer Night Out in New York on June 28.

“I didn’t expect to get the part, but I remember being so nervous that it was debilitating.”

Lost roles aside, Ritter is preparing for the second season of her hit show Apartment 23, starring alongside James Van Der Beek. While his role on teen series Dawson’s Creek is a recurring punch line on the show, Ritter admitted she never watched an episode.

“I can’t say I’m Team Dawson or Team Pacey — I’ve never seen the show,” she quipped.

“Everyone has another idea of him from Dawson’s Creek, but I only know him as my James… He’s heaven. He’s so sweet and a family man. He’s an amazing guy,” Ritter gushed.

Alicia Silverstone is, like, totally reunited with “Clueless” writer/director Amy Hecklerling as filming for the new horror comedy “Vamps” gets underway in Detroit, Michigan.

New photos from the set show Alicia – still looking like a total betty – and “She’s Out of My League” star Krysten Ritter shooting scenes for the 2011 film about a pair of beautiful bloodsuckers.

Isla Fisher and the rest of the cast were front and center and fashionable at the New York City premiere of Confessions of a Shopaholic at the Ziegfeld Theater last night.

Temperatures in New York dropped to 11 degrees last night, yet most of the actresses attending the premiere (including Fisher, Leslie Bibb, Claire Danes and Krysten Ritter) all wore fairly non-winter dresses on the red carpet. Which was OUTSIDE of the theater. Brrrr!

The Shopaholic herself wore a sage mini-dress by designer Matthew Williamson.

At least Miss America Katie Stam wore a trenchcoat with her tiara! Smart girl.

Also in attendance was Shopaholic’s male lead Hugh Dancy (Danes’ boyfriend in real life), John Goodman and former Just Shoot Me star Wendie Malick.

In the flick, recent Allure coverbody Fisher plays a literal shopaholic who tries to contend with her debt (how timely) by taking a job at a high-finance magazine. Hilarity ensues, as Fisher’s character has no idea how to manage money obviously.

Dancy’s presence as Fisher’s charming suitor sweetens the deal. He’s no Sacha Baron Cohen (Isla’s real-life fiancé and father of daughter Olive, 1) but he’ll do. There was no sign of the Borat actor at the premiere, but who knows if he was there or not? The guy’s been known to go undercover, after all.

The Australian Fisher told Canada.com that a key scene in the movie, in which her character tries to seduce Dancy via fan dance, was a dream of hers.

“It’s always been a comic dream of mine to attempt to seduce a man doing a dance that’s actually repulsive,” Isla, 32, says.
