Is Quentin Tarantino circling a gangland epic as his next film? After screening his latest film, Django Unchained, at a BAFTA event, the director hinted that tommy guns and fedoras are in his future. “I could conceive maybe someday doing a 30′s gangster picture, or something like that.” The Pulp Fiction director also said that making another Western could be in the cards. Fans of the TV show Friday Night Lights are going to have to take a knee if what Coach Taylor says about the prospective new movie is true. While promoting his new film, Zero Dark Thirty, Kyle Chandler said that, despite reports to the contrary, he is neither involved in any plans to bring the NBC series to the big screen, nor wants to be. “My general attitude about Friday Night Lights is, it was a great movie with Billy Bob [Thornton]. It was a great TV show,” Chandler said. “But they ended [the show] at exactly the right time, and exactly the right way as well.” The actor went on to say that he has yet to see a script for the film, or have any contact with director Peter Berg regarding the project. Thursday’s release of an announcement trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness is just the beginning. On December 14, Paramount Pictures will present the first 9-minutes of the film attached to IMAX prints of Warner Bros.’ The Hobbit. Director Kathryn Bigelow follows up her award-winning master-class in tension The Hurt Locker with Zero Dark Thirty, an unapologetically factual depiction of the hunt for Osama bin Laden.  Originally conceived as a literal exercise in futility – the film was all but completed when President Obama surprised the world with the news of Bin Laden’s death – Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal reworked and expanded their film into a portrait of dogged determination (if not utter obsession) in the face of ever dwindling odds.

But does Bigelow’s decidedly cold presentation of one woman’s decade-long manhunt succeed in its matter-of-factness or stumble in its refusal to evoke emotion?

The Mega Millions jackpot is up to a record-breaking $640 million, and it’s anybody’s game! Though we won’t know the winning numbers until later this evening, Celebuzz thought we’d take a look back at some of the best TV and movie moments that featured people (like us) hoping to win big.

So, what are some of our favorites that come to mind?

First one for us would be Lost! Though we didn’t know it at the time, when Hurley won the lottery, the winning numbers “4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42″ would play a huge role in the rest of the mysterious series. Watch the video above.

Full House
On an episode of Full House, the gang tries to make Uncle Joey think that he won the lottery by putting an old video in the VCR (remember those?!) and trying to convince him that he had some winning lotto ticket numbers. Well, it looks like the joke ends up being on them! Check out the video here.

It Could Happen to You
In the 1994 flick, It Could Happen to You,Nicolas Cage plays a cop who can’t tip his waitress at a local diner, so promises he will split his lotto earnings with her if he wins. Turns out, he ends up winning – $4 million to be exact! His greedy wife (Rosie Perez) doesn’t want to share it with the waitress (Bridget Fonda), and the cop and his wife end up splitting. But the cop and the waitress end up with the best prize of all — love!

Lottery Ticket
Bow Wow and a number of others starred in the 2010 film, Lottery Ticket, about, “Kevin Carson is a young man living in the projects who has to survive a three-day weekend after his opportunistic neighbors find out he’s holding a winning lottery ticket worth $370 million.”

Windfall
In 2006, Luke Perry starred in a short-lived series called Windfall that dealt with the downsides of winning the lotto among a group of 20 friends who decide to split the money.

Friends
Joey, Chandler, Monica, Ross, Rachel and Phoebe got into a lot of shenenigans over their 10 years of Friends-hip, but perhaps one of the biggest tests for this tight-knit group? The lotto of course! In a episode that aired in 2003, “When everyone except Ross pools together to buy tickets for the lottery, Phoebe gets a prediction from her psychic that they will win. Ross, despite his skepticism, gets in on the action.” Check out a video here!

Early Edition
Before Kyle Chandler took on the role of Coach Taylor in Friday Night Lights, he played Gary Hobson on Early Edition from 1996 to 2000. For some unknown reason, Gary received newspapers a day early, and had 24 hours to “set things right.” One of the first time he realized what was happening to him was when he played winning lotto numbers.

Boy Meets World
On an episode of Boy Meets World, Eric is convinced he has some kind of psychic powers, which he tries to use to win big money.

How I Met Your Mother
When Robin’s citizenship is in question, she considers (horror of all horrors!) taking a job as the “Lotto Girl.” But not before Barney has some (hilarious) fun at the current Lotto Girl’s expense.

The Office
On The Office, the warehouse guys win the lottery! Which can’t be good for the actual office folks at Dunder-Mifflin.

Outstanding Drama Series went to the show that makes us want to dress up just a bit more after watching each episode — Mad Men.
