Many are outraged that an underage girl could get access to a product clearly intended — by law — for those 18 and over.

While we all know there are health risks to smoking, so too are there risks with eating large amounts of sugar, for example, as well as many other perfectly legal activities. While she’s shy of being a full-fledged adult, Lourdes is calling the shots when it comes to her Material Girl collection; if she can run a fashion house, is she old enough to make her own decision when it comes to smoking?

She was on to something since her line “Material Girl” with daughter Lourdes “Lola” Leon, has just released their spring 2012 “Lucky Stars” campaign which features the three winners-Samantha Titus, Katrina (Tina) Arandjelovic, and Kimberly Perry-from the search for the next “Material Girl.” 

Along with the digital and outdoor campaign and in-store in Macy’s display (the line is exclusive to the department store), the duo also debuted the “Making of The Next Material Girl” video, which is available on the Material Girl’s Facebook page, and features behind the scenes footage for the search for the next Material Girl. Madonna, Lola, and Kelly Osbourne helped with picking the winners as well as a panel of guest judges including Perez Hilton.

The punked out look is a drastic change from her usual hairstyle, but she’s hinted that she wanted to change it up before. Her famous mom kept a rule that she couldn’t dye her hair until she was 14 (she went darker). Now 15, Lourdes is taking it to the next level!

If the ‘do looks familiar, “Me & U” singer Cassie made the style popular back in 2009.

Kelly Osbourne and Madonna‘s daughter Lourdes Leon were on hand at a casting call for the Material Girl fashion line in the big apple on Wednesday, and posed for some pics while the photogs snapped away. Both were looking cute and ready for fall.

While Kelly looks great on the red carpet, it looks like she might have been a little sick!

The event turned into a full on runway show, as models hit the pink catwalk in the Material Girl clothing. Kelly and Lourdes giggled like BFFs from the sidelines, eventually strutting down the runway. Kelly sported a leopard print top, leather jacket and skirt, while Lourdes wore a flirty, yellow and white mini dress and black pumps.

Fans gathered on the fourth floor of Macy’s in NYC, to catch a glimpse of the twosome. Adding even more frills to the b-day bash, there was a four-tiered birthday cake decorated with sparklers and ribbons that was brought onstage. The Material Girl line launched last year, and Kelly took over the spokes model job in February, replacing Gossip Girl wild child Taylor Momsen.

There’s no denying that Madonna‘s little girl is all grown up! The 14-year old mini-mogul, who also launched a beauty product collection for Material Girl, is still making plenty of time for fun though. Just a few weeks ago, Lourdes hit the beach in Antibes, France, with some of her friends to enjoy some gun in the sun. The group were later spotted riding jet skis.

She and a small group were spotted off the shores riding jet skis.

Lourdes was recently promoting her new product launch in New York, adding to the already successful label the she and her popstar mom created together. It looks like she’s taking a break after all that hard work!

Miss O can be seen in the new Fall 2011 fashion line ad campaign for Material Girl, which is the junior fashion venture by Madonna and her daughter Lourdes. In the photos, Kelly is seen all across New York City, posing in places as iconic as Times Square and as local as Chinatown. Whether on a skyscraper rooftop or building doorstep, Kelly sports the edgy-meets-teen gear with confidence.

Kelly says that shooting the ads has been a blast.

I never expected it to be as fun as it actually is. From the minute we walk in to the minute we leave, we laugh … it’s the fun cheeky girl inside of everyone.

Lourdes (aka Lola), who has become close pals with Kelly during the shoots, says that even though they got along OK at first, “it’s even better because we know each other even more.”

The Material Mom appears via satellite on The Ellen Degeneres Show to speak out against the recent suicides of gay teens and the bullying, negative gossip that has preceded them, saying she “wouldn’t have a career if it weren’t for the gay community:”

I’m incredibly disturbed and saddened by the overwhelming number of teen suicides that have been reported lately because of bullying. Teenagers committing suicide is extremely disturbing but to hear that teenagers are taking their lives because they are being bullied in schools and dormitories, what have you, is kind of unfathomable.

Like Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers before her, Madonna herself reveals she was bullied as a kid. The pop icon even says she still feels “different:”

I can totally relate to the idea of feeling isolated and alienated.  I was incredibly lonely as a child, as a teenager.  I have to say I never felt like I fit in in school. I wasn’t a jock.  I wasn’t an intellectual.  There was no group that I felt a part of.  I just felt like a weirdo…It wasn’t until my ballet teacher who was also gay took me under his wing and introduced me to a community of artists and other unique individuals who told me it was good and okay to be different and brought me to my first gay disco and ironically made me feel I was part of the world and it was okay to be different.

Madonna’s words of wisdom, as shared with her teen daughter Lourdes? Don’t judge people “who don’t fit into our expected view of what’s cool and what isn’t.”

“Think about it across the board. The concept that we are torturing teenagers because they are gay… It’s like lynching black people or Hitler exterminating Jews,” she told Ellen. “This is America… The land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen was already “psyched” to rep Madonna and daughter Lourdes‘ new fashion line, Material Girl. What Taylor didn’t know was that Madge and her teen daughter would be on hand to help with style, direct and even shoot the ad campaign featuring their clothes. Lucky!

Madonna reportedly disapproves of the way her 13-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon, dresses, saying that she wishes “she’d dress more conservatively,” adding “how’s that for irony?”

Meanwhile, millions of mothers who fought with their daughters (and possibly sons) about copying Madonna’s revealing style in the ’80s and early ’90s are feeling the warm glow of satisfying revenge.

However, Madonna doesn’t disapprove of her daughter’s sartorial choices too much, since she is teaming up with Lourdes to create a new teen fashion line for Macy’s called, appropriately, Material Girl.

So we’re guessing there won’t be any lacy bustiers, cone bras or mini skirts in this collection?

The Material Mom was in the Namitete area of Malawi on Thursday for the  ground-breaking ceremony  for the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls, which the singer is building via her Raising Malawi charitable foundation.

Madonna also visited the Mphandula Orphanage, accompanied by her children, Lourdes Leon, Mercy and David—the latter two of whom she adopted from Malawi.
