Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper have danced their way to Academy Award nods for Silver Linings Playbook, but it didn’t come without a little help.

Choreographer Mandy Moore remembers how their dancing determination may just lead them to the gold… Oscar, that is.

“Neither of them were dancers. But it was amazing how open they were and the room was filled with so much energy and lots of hard work,” Moore told Celebuzz.

Even though Cooper, 37, may have had two left feet in the beginning, he was already planning what professional moves he could use off screen, she said.

“He said, ‘I like swing dancing — I can use that in the clubs!’” Moore recalled, laughing.

It was Lawrence, 22, who plays a dancer in the Best Picture-nominated drama, who surprisingly needed the boost in self-confidence.

“Poor Jen. I think I trained with her every day for six weeks!” Moore said. “Just to get her in shape for what she needed to do. I spent a lot of time with her and it was an intense project.

“I remember her saying to me, ‘I’m not a dancer and you’ll never get me to dance.’ But now look at her!

“She gave Bradley a run for his money.

“She was always determined and was going to get it no matter what. And she kills it in this film. She puts all the emotions on her face and all those things that [her character] Tiffany is supposed to be.”

And for added inspiration, Moore turned to the classics, of course, like tutorials from the pros in Singing in the Rain.

“I was floored when I first saw Jen and Bradley dance on screen. It was magical.”

Whether or not Cooper or Lawrence, who are both up for Best Actor and Best Actress, take home the statuette on Sunday night, Moore just wants them to show off their newfound moves when they party as a cast.

“Whoever comes out winning, I just hope we all get to celebrate together,” she said.

“All I have to say is enjoy the moment. All the hard work paid off, all the sweating and laughing was worth it.”

It’s that time of year again, movie buffs! Yep, that’s right. Another Valentine’s Day, another overtly romantic movie with a poster of the two beautiful lead actors in an embrace.

This year’s selection is an adaptation of a novel from the man who seems to have nothing but romantic bones in his body, Nicholas Sparks. Seriously, Sparks is like the romantic gift that keeps on giving.

The latest novel-turned-sappy-movie is Safe Haven, starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. The pair of leads easily fit into the roster of Sparks-leads alumni including Amanda Seyfried, Mandy Moore, Channing Tatum, Rachel McAdams, Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron, to name a few, but does the newest edition to the Nicholas Sparks movie collection have as much (pun intended) heart as the movies that came before it?

Critics weighed in, and according to them, the film is generally lackluster. But, in the end, it all depends on what the audience thinks. Meaning, don’t let the critics discourage you too much! Having said that, here’s a look at exactly what they had to say about the film:

Today marks 11 years since America came under attack on September 11, 2001. And on this anniversary of 9/11, the Hollywood community is remembering the tragedy that shook the country.

Mandy Moore shined (literally) on the 2011 Oscars red carpet on Sunday, as she was donned in a glittery Monique Lhuillier frock.

The actress, who is set to perform the nominated song “I See the Light” from the Disney animated feature Tangled along with her co-star from the film, Zachary Levi, told E! host Ryan Seacrest she wasn’t too nervous, but was excited to celebrate afterwards.

Not only has Disney’s most recent animated feature, Tangled, been a critical and box office smash, but the song “I See the Light” from the film is nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards, and the film’s stars will perform the song at the February 27th ceremony.

While the film itself may have been snubbed from the Best Animated Feature category, Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore, who provided the voices for the Rapunzel-inspired fairy tale, have been confirmed to belt out the nominated song. So, what songs are they up against? “Coming Home,” from Country Strong, “If I Rise,” from 127 Hours and “We Belong Together,” from Toy Story 3.

Tangled star Mandy Moore was all smiles as she dropped off a load of laundry at the local cleaners in Los Feliz, CA on Thursday.

Considering the Disney film’s Thanksgiving haul at the box office, she ought to be laughing hysterically. $69 million over the five-day long weekend was enough to land it in the second place narrowly behind the Hollywood juggernaut Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

It’s no secret that John Mayer has hooked up with a bevy of beautiful female stars, and now reports are coming in that Katy Perry once fell prey to his powers of seduction.

According to E! Online, Katy and John briefly dated right before Katy met her future husband Russell Brand at the 2009 VMAs. While the two didn’t last, John has never had a problem dating beautiful women, even if it is only for a few days.

Some celebs may spend the holidays obsessing over calories and fad diets, but Mandy Moore is not one of them. Moore, who voices Rapunzel in the animated box-office smash Tangled, which opened Nov. 24, took a big bite out of the Hollywood stereotype confessing that she eats exactly what she wants in a recent interview with PEOPLE.

“If I want to have a burger and fries like I did [the other] night in the park, then I’m going to do that because that’s okay,” she says.

The singer-songwriter and actress admits that her free-love philosophy on food has not always been this way. “[There have been times] when it’s the first thing on my mind all the time,” says Moore. “I’m so affected and driven by that diet and what I’m eating and how much I’m exercising.”

Moore has since cultivated a stress-free approach to staying fit.

“I’ve just realized in time that if it’s a constant thread in the background of my life,” she says, “that’s when I’m the happiest and that’s when I feel the best about myself.”

Before the madness of the VMAs, celebs like Vanessa Hudgens, Kelly Osbourne and breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate used their starpower for a good cause: raising money at Friday night’s Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon.

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross (whose husband suffered from cancer) and former American Idol singer David Archuleta also turned up for the star-studded charity event. Officials said they would announce the fundraising total this week. The 2008 Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon raised more than $100 million.

Mandy Moore stunned her fans when she got married to indie musician Ryan Adams in a surprise ceremony in Savannah, Georgia on March 10.

And she couldn’t be happier, according to Us.

At a Latisse launch party on Thursday night, the singer/actress gushed about her new married life.

“I’m thrilled,” Moore, 24, said. “Very, very happy.”

Moore and Adams were snapped checking out a flea market in West Hollywood on Sunday.

And what did they do for a honeymoon? Mandy’s not saying.

“I don’t know. I’m sort of shy about answering questions about it. I’m trying to keep as much for myself, but things are good right now. It’s nice to be home and relaxing and taking a bit of time off.”

Moore, who replied “I think I’m done with that,” when asked if she would have a second ceremony, does have some advice for other brides.

“I would recommend whatever you feel comfortable doing and not going against how you really feel,” she says. “It’s just important to maintain what feels authentic and organic and genuine for you.”

Mandy Moore definitely isn’t a Bridezilla type.

People magazine reports that Moore and rocker beau Ryan Adams‘ wedding on Tuesday was the essence of simplicity.

The ceremony, which was held at Whitefield Chapel at Bethesda Home for Boys outside of Savannah, Georgia, lasted a mere eight minutes. The wedding bands were silver and purchased from a local jeweler. Arrangements were made just the day before.

And the dress code was extremely casual. Moore wore a cream-colored dress and flat sandals. The groom opted for tight skinny jeans, a T-shirt with sport coat and sneakers.

Pastor Steve Schulte, who officiated the ceremony, had never met the couple before and was initially wary due to the last-minute arrangements. “I thought it was either somebody famous or somebody really bad,” Schulte recalls. But Moore’s obvious elation set the pastor’s mind at ease. “She was thrilled to be getting married,” Schulte offers. “She was giddy but not in a childish way. She was obviously so happy.”

After the brief ceremony, which began at 2:30 p.m., Adams and Moore exited the chapel. Adams paused, turned to his new bride, took her face in his hands and planted a wet one on her. Then the newly married couple retreated to a little footbridge near the chapel, where they hugged and kissed some more.

“It was so romantic. It was awesome,” says wedding planner Chad Baker—who was only in attendance because he had another wedding appointment with Schulte later that day. “I just can’t stress how happy they seemed.”

Mandy Moore and her boyfriend, indie music superstar Ryan Adams, got married yesterday, a source at Ryan’s public-relations firm confirms to Celebuzz.

The couple were wed in a quiet ceremony in Savannah, Georgia.

News broke that Adams, 34, and Moore, 24, had become engaged in February. The couple had been dating since last summer. Moore had been engaged once before, to Scrubs actor Zach Braff.

One generation’s bad girl met another on Monday night when Madonna was seated next to Lily Allen in the same cozy corner of the Sunset Tower Hotel’s restaurant.

The ever-popular Tower Bar saw Madonna dining with two girlfriends while Lily was on a date, an on-looker tells Celebuzz.

“They weren’t over affectionate, but there was a vibe,” the source says of Allen and her dark-haired mystery man.

As for the exchange between the Queen of Pop and controversial Allen?

“They said hello.”

Never let it be said that Mandy Moore doesn’t keep an eye out for her friends. And former beaus.

The 24-year-old singer/actress—who got engaged to her rocker boyfriend Ryan Adams last week—may have her ex-boyfriend, plane-crash victim DJ AM (born Adam Goldstein) spin records at her wedding reception, Us Magazine reports.

During an interview on Los Angeles radio station 104.3MYfm on Friday, Moore let it slip that she wasn’t sure if she or her husband-to-be would be providing the entertainment for their wedding reception.

“We haven’t really gotten that far,” Moore admitted, before adding, “I could ask my friend Adam [Goldstein]. That could work too. [There are] many options. I haven’t even gone down that path yet.”

Moore and Goldstein dated for a time in 2007. In the wake of Goldstein’s horrific plane crash in South Carolina last year—in which he and former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker were badly burned—Moore showed support for her former flame, attending the Friendly House 19th Annual Awards Luncheon with him last October.
