TMZ reports that 43-year-old Anthony filed papers in LA on Monday, citing the usual “irreconcilable differences,” for the reason behind the demise of their seven year marriage. Since the couple went their separate ways, 42-year-old Lopez began dating 25-year-old back-up dancer Casper Smart in November.

No word on custody of their 4-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

The two have also been working on their singing reality show ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen, and things seem to be pretty amicable between these two, despite J.Lo calling Marc a “pig” recently.

This will be Marc’s second divorce, and Jennifer’s third. Marc was married to Miss Universe contestant Dayanara Torres, while the American Idol judge was previously married to Ojani Noa and Cris Judd.

JLo and Marc hash it out in the boardroom over some impending cuts, revealing, perhaps, a glimpse of what life might have been like for the divorced couple behind closed doors.

Things only get worse later on in the episode, when Marc, 42, refers to some of the female contestants as his “babies.” Jennifer, unhappy with the remark, looks at her ex and proclaims, “You’re a pig.” Ouch!

JLo, 42, and Marc announced they were splitting last year, after seven years of marriage. Jen has since moved on to a much younger man — 24-year-old dancer Casper Smart, who can be seen in the sexy new video for her new single “Dance Again.” (Watch it here.)

The two also announced that they will wrap up ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen with a live performance at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center on May 26.

Ellen showed a scene from their show, in which J-Lo smacks her estranged husband, and the American Idol judge claims that the producers added a smack sound effect. Jennifer reenacted the slap on the talk show and the audience laughed as Mark exclaimed, “She can’t help herself. Now that’s the shot that you need.”

Marc and Jen (both 42 years old) have moved on in their love lives. Jennifer is dating 24-year-old Casper Smart, while Marc is with Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima, also 24.

The American Idol judge showed up on the TODAY show Monday morning to chat about her relationship with Marc. She told Matt Lauer: 

“Marc and I were friends before we got married. We were friends for years. And we always loved each other, and we always worked together…. Obviously, we have children together so it’s not like he’s not going to be in my life, he’s always going to be in my life.”

Both parties have looked to have moved on from their marriage to significantly younger pairings with Marc, 42, dating a model, Shannon de Lima, 24, and Jennifer, 42, dating her backup dancer, 24-year-old Casper Smart. 

JLo admitted that working with your ex isn’t always easy, saying “We’re human. I’m not going to sit here and lie to you about it. But at the end of the day there is real love there, and there is a family there and that comes first. And at the end of the day we also really love this project. It has its difficult moments once in a while when we’re together, just because of the same things as when we were married.”

As for whether she’ll ever remarry, she answered, “I don’t know… we’ll see… It’s not time to think about that yet.”

On Saturday, the former couple attended the 2012 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, California. The former couple were at the event to promote their upcoming show, Q’Viva: The Chosen. J.Lo and Marc were all smiles as they posed for photographs — even exchanging laughs during the sit-down portion of the panel.

According to reports, the pair have both moved on romantically. Jennifer is currently dating back-up dancer Casper Smart. Meanwhile, Marc recently went public with 24-year-old Venezualan model Shannon De Lima, who posted photos of them kissing on her personal Facebook.

So who is this beauty? It’s Venezualan model Shannon De Lima, 24. Anthony paraded his new romance — adding a photo of him and his new girlfriend kissing to his Facebook and tweeting about his new relationship.

He posted a message on Twitter in Spanish which translated as: “To Shannon, my statue of liberty. Kisses baby!”

Since Marc and Jennifer Lopez separated, the American Idol judge has been romantically linked with actor Bradley Cooper and is now dating 24-year-old dancer Casper Smart.

The American Idol judge topped off her belly-baring blouse with olive cargo pants and tan sunglasses. J.Lo was in Buenos Aires scouting for music and dance talent for Q’Viva- The Chosen!, a reality show she started with ex-hubby, Marc Anthony. The show will focus on finding the best undiscovered talent all over the continent and makes its debut in 2012.

Despite the chiller temps around the country, it seems like celebs are embracing the bare midriff trend. J.Lo previously wore another midriff top at L.A. engagement, while stars like Rihanna, Jessica Biel, Nicole Richie and Camilla Belle have also been spotted rocking the revealing look at major red carpet parties and events.

“It was a flight attendant, it was the pilot — I heard it was this guy sitting next to me in a rehab in Houston. I’ve heard it all,” he told ABC News during the interview, airing tonight at 11:35PM on Nightline.

Instead, Anthony says their marriage simply fell apart. “It’s a decision that we made jointly. And that’s how I’ll answer that,” he said.

Meanwhile, Anthony, who added that he is “always going to be Daddy” to the couple’s twins, Max and Emme, had only kind words to say about J-Lo. “I’ll always love Jennifer. Yes. I’ll always love Jennifer. She knows that,” he said.

We reached out to relationship expert Trina Dolenz to hear what she had to say about Hollywood’s latest breakup. Trina was most recently featured on VH1′s reality show Tool Academy. She was educated and trained in Cambridge, England and later in London, where she earned her Post Graduate Diploma in Couples Therapy from Relate, the UK’s #1 Couples Therapy training organization.  She is the author of Retool Your Relationship and is a regular guest host on the hit radio show Loveline hosted by Psycho Mike Catherwood and Dr. Drew.

Trina Dolenz:  I am sure many are wondering what went wrong in this high profile celebrity marriage, which appeared to be working so well, until the seven-year-itch has supposedly led them to announce their separation so unexpectedly.

This relationship started way too quickly after their previous breakups for either of them to really grieve or change – both were seen together less than a week after Marc Anthony’s divorce was finalized and less than two months after J.Lo’s break-up with Ben Affleck .  Although she and Marc share very important core similarities of culture (both have Puerto Rican parents) and both were brought up in the same religion (Catholicism), which often is very important in sustaining a long-term relationship, especially when the couple start a family; there the similarities end. We can be duped into thinking they had so much in common just because they are both actors and recording artists. This is just their chosen battleground.

This couple came together in an unspoken ‘deal’ whereby J.Lo would give Marc some glitter to his career and he would give her a rock to lean on.  This is the classic case of what we therapists call ‘Star and Fan.’ At the start of this particular modern-day fairy tale, many of the relationships flaws, problems, incompatibilities, are swept under the carpet and these two had plenty of distractions to keep them blind. But at some point, the glitter fades and the truth of the relationship begins to reveal itself. As we saw on American Idol, a job she supposedly took to revive her already unbelievably successful career, Marc Anthony had to muscle his way onto the show to try to gain some of the glory his wife was basking in. He often led her back to her roots in the career choices he helped her to make in their recordings and films, but often they were the ones that failed.  This will have added to Marc’s feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness, making him aggressively try to exert power over his wife to gain some control.

I am sure if we were able to be a fly on the wall at their family home we would be witness to some pretty volatile exchanges.  This couple have probably been battling it out for some time now and have decided to call it quits realizing their relationship no longer provides Jennifer with stability or security but is leaving them both feeling distant and alienated. This couple came together as old friends, who once dated in the past. J.Lo hoping for safety and a relationship that can last longer than two years, Marc maybe hoping to be loved for who he really is?  J.Lo swings from the boring to the dangerous in her pick of men, but always men she hopes ultimately to get the better of (with the exception of Sean “Puffy” Combs where she have got more than she bargained for).

On top of their fight for dominance, they have had to deal with what is a very precarious time in a marriage; the first three years after having kids, and this couple had twins! J.Lo moved her mother into the family home, probably to help out with the children, but I am quite sure it has driven a wedge further into their relationship by changing the family power balance even more in Jennifer’s favor, so distancing Marc Anthony from more decisions.  Marc may feel he is now in a threesome and we could find out later that he has decided to find his own diversion.

“After her much publicized romances with men like Cris Judd and Ben Affleck, what would make any of us think that things would work out with Marc? He didn’t have the best track either,” Jessica explains. “However, after years went on, and they remained happily together, they seemed to prove us all wrong, even as mismatched as they seemed. Even more so, when they had the twins, they seemed more in love and committed than ever.”

Still, Radloff believes there were signs all was not well in their marriage — as recently as last weekend.

“Flags were raised when Jennifer attended the BAFTA gala with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge last Saturday night and brought her mom instead of Marc,” says Jessica. “In Hollywood, unless you’re Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck- who make a choice not to be seen arm-in-arm at public events- it was definitely unusual.”

JLo and Marc have certainly been in the public spotlight more over the last year thanks to American Idol. And the spotlight clearly favored Jennifer.

“Everyone always commented that he got lucky nabbing her. She’s a goddess, and he. . . well, not so much,” points out Radloff.

Unfortunately the way things go in Hollywood, if the woman is more successful in a relationship trouble is quick to follow. Is that what could have happened here?

“Jennifer clearly had a breakthrough year on Idol by endearing herself to millions of viewers. She was compassionate, down-to-earth, and the total opposite of what [her public perception has been]- that she was a total diva. Had this split happened a year ago, I think the public would be more apt to blame her. Now, of course, I see it going the other way.  ”

“Whether or not her success this past year had anything to do with the split- and I think that’s taking the easy way out to blame it on that- remains to be seen,” explains Jessica.

So where will JLo go from here? Could she be done with a high-profile relationships?

“I don’t see Jennifer jumping into a new relationship for some time,” says Radloff. “Where would she find the time? Unlike years past -and especially considering that she’s a mother now- I really think Jennifer will put [her children] Emme and Max’s needs first and take her time.”

Continues Jessica:

“When the time comes though, it certainly won’t be a so-called ‘commoner.’ Whether she hooks up with a music producer or well-known entertainment executive, Jennifer craves someone with power and prestige. . . as long as he doesn’t steal her limelight altogether. That seems just about impossible for the talented and gorgeous Ms. Lopez though!”

“The real victims of course, are Emme and Max, two adorable little kids that don’t deserve the difficulty that comes with parents splitting up. Either way, we haven’t seen the last of this story.”

Couldn’t agree more. Wishing Jennifer, Marc, and their beautiful family the best during this hard time.

The Latino power couple, who tied the knot seven years ago and have two children together, announced on Friday afternoon that they plan on divorcing. The couple told People exclusively:

“We have decided to end our marriage … This was a very difficult decision. We have come to amicable conclusions on all matters … It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”

The split comes as a surprise to many, especially as they two had several joint projects in the works. In fact, Latino magazine conducted an interview just a few weeks ago in which J.Lo said they were “a good combination.” 

Lopez and Anthony are the parents of twins Max and Emme, who are 3 years old. They gave no indication of what their plans are for custody of the children.

After much speculation of a possible baby on board in 2008 — and after dodging several questions during interviews — Lopez confirmed that she was expecting during a concert in Miami.

Lopez has seen a career resurgence of late, having taken on the role of American Idol judge this past season, which in turn kick-started her music career back up. While there has been speculation as to whether she’ll return to Idol for another season, this news will likely play a major part in her decision. Still, there’s no doubting Lopez re-established herself as a major pop artist, thanks in part to smash hits like “On the Floor.”

As for Anthony, he has remained private through much of the couple’s marriage, continuing his wildly successful recording career as well.

Sadly, this also means that another Marc and J.Lo collaboration. Our friends at Idolator have complied their top five musical performances; we picked our fave, their “Por Arriesgarnos” duet, below. See the rest over at Idolator. 

In fact, she seems so wrapped up into her marriage with Marc Anthony that she had to recruit family members to help her come up with the hot guy for her new video!

She told Kathie Lee & Hoda on Today:  

“His name is William Levy. It was funny because over Christmas, I had my whole family at my house, and every day my cousins and my aunts and everybody tuned in to this thing [telenovela] to see this guy … when we started doing the video I was like, who’s hot right now? I called my cousins and they were like, ‘It’s William Levy. You’ve got to get William Levy!’”

William is currently playing Maximiliano Sandoval in Televisa’s soap opera El triunfo del amor.

So, what does her hubby think of her rolling around the beach with the muscle hottie? J.Lo told the Today hosts:

“I think he’s OK with it. I mean, you sholud see his last video!”
