Yes, the world may be holding its breath for tomorrow’s big Academy Awards show, but there are other awards ceremonies going on this weekend too, y’know.

The 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards went off at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Friday and, while the carpet was, officially, blue, the occasion did give Tinseltown’s finest a chance to get a running start for the Oscars glam-a-thon.

Maria Bello Snags 20-Something FiancÃ©

Actress Maria Bello stars in the Brendan Fraser action flick, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer, but the last place she’s looking to find a husband is in a tomb—unlike some people.

Maria’s rep confirmed to E! News that her client is engaged to 28-year-old Bryn Mooser.

News of the engagement was broken by the Times Herald in the couple’s hometown of Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Mooser and Bello have been dating for a year and a half. They met when Maria dined at the restaurant where Bryn works as a part-time waiter.

Bello has gone on record that she “didn’t understand monogamy.”

However, after Bryn came along, Maria “started to understand the beauty of constancy and history and change and going on the roller coaster with someone.”

Maybe Maria’s taking her cues from Mariah Carey. She’s also a fan of roller coasters.
