Earlier this week, the NY Post reported that the British singer was approached by AI executives to see if she’d be interested in joining Idol – either alongside Jennifer Lopez or as a replacement if J.Lo leaves.

Cole appeared in the first few episodes of X Factor before being dumped by Simon Cowell. She was criticized for lacking stage presence and for her thick English accent, sources said.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon went all out for their twins’ first birthday party, hosting a swanky soiree for Monroe and Moroccan on April 30.

Now Carey is sharing intimate pics from “dem babies’” bash held at the Plaza Athenee in Paris, France. The pop music diva, 42, and the America’s Got Talent host, 31, invited a few of their close friends to celebrate birthday, as the tots were treated to a toy Ferrari, a rocking horse, and a miniature white piano.

Showbiz 411 reports that the party featured a lovely array of “pastries, balloons, toys and confetti.” Though the twins looked as adorable as ever, their mother was also show-stopper in her nude-colored J. Mendel gown that complimented her husband’s cream-colored suit perfectly.

Three days before feting Roc and Roe’s birthday, Carey and Cannon renewed their wedding vows–a tradition they’ve kept up every year since their 2008 nuptials.

They were married in the Bahamas in 2008. Carey gave birth to twins, Moroccan and Monroe, last year.

At just one year old, Monroe and Moroccan already look ready for prom season! The twins (whose parents affectionately call Roc and Roe) joined Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon for a swanky soiree that included gowns and suits, all matching of course. The pop music diva, 42, and the America’s Got Talent host, 31, invited a few of their close friends to celebrate “dem babies’” birthday on April 29 at the Plaza Athenee in Paris, France.

The French-themed wouldn’t be complete without the right trimmings!

While in Paris, the couple also celebrated their wedding anniversary. The two renewed their vows at the Eiffel Tower after dining at the beautiful Jules Verne restaurant.

Lat month, she made her first return to the stage since giving birth to the twins last April. The singer hit the stage in New York City for a promotional performance for Caesars Entertainment.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” the “Crazy In Love” singer, 30, told the magazine. “”I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

She’s a new mom with a new bod, and today, March 27, Mariah Carey turns 42!

Wife to TV star Nick Cannon, 31, and mother to twins Monroe and Moroccan, this self-proclaimed diva is looking good!

As of lately, the “We Belong Together” singer is the newest spokesperson for Jenny Craig and in just a year, she is said to have lost all of her baby weight and more.

Mariah told Rosie O’Donnell on her show this past November, “The first week, I lost 40 lbs. … of just water. It was just water, initially. When I started with the program, I lost at least 30 lbs. of weight that needed to be lost.”

She added, “The diet is 90 percent of it.” Mariah also told Rosie that she never step on a scale but would rather ask herself, “‘Does this size dress fit me that I wore three years ago? I’m good, let’s go.’ I would go by what it looked like, how I felt.”

Mariah Carey Debuts Slim Figure in First Performance Since Giving Birth (PHOTOS)

Mariah Carey made her triumphant return to the stage on Thursday night, marking the first time she has performed since giving birth to her twin babies in April. Hitting the stage for Caesar’s Entertainment “Escape to Total Rewards” event, Mariah flaunted her slim figure in a curve hugging black dress, as she belted a seven song set which included hits like “It’s Like That,” “Shake It Off,” “Touch My Body,” “Obsessed,” “We Belong Together” and a cover of the Jackson 5′s “I’ll Be There.”

Mariah revealed during the concert that she thought about bringing “dem babies” to the show but realized it’d be past their bedtime — so she decided not to. Aww! Although Monroe and Moroccan (affectionately nicknamed Roc and Roe) weren’t there, Mariah dedicated “Always Be My Baby” to them, much to the delight of the crowd.

Later in the set, Mariah also gave a shout out to her hubby Nick Cannon, who recently stepped down from his radio show after his recent health scare. “Nick, I love you. I know you’re out there somewhere,” Mariah cooed into the mic.

“Coming complete with an onstage beauty crew and even making a few pauses to get a spritz of perfume, Mariah proved she’s still the diva her fans have always known and loved,” one concertgoer tells Celebuzz.

Although she had some trouble with her ear piece and laughed off forgetting a few lyrics, Mariah brought down the house. She even returned to the stage for an encore to sing her hit, “Hero.”

“Mariah seemed a little nervous when she hit the stage, but she’s a total pro and will hopefully be touring again in no time,” another partygoer added.

Clearly, 41 is the new 25!

Legendary singer Mariah Carey looked like a true diva as she arrived at Good Morning America in New York City on Tuesday.

The We Belong Together singer, who was there to talk about her new partnership with the American Heart Association and Jenny Craig, wore a classic, hip-hugging LBD, which she paired with a black wrap and oversized sunglasses. We’re loving this look!

Mariah has had a rough couple of weeks. In addition to grieving the loss of singer Whitney Houston, Mariah’s husband, Nick Cannon, was recently hospitalized for blood clots in his lungs.

Randy Jackson Talks About Mariah Carey Joining ‘X Factor’

Word on street is that Mariah Carey is being courted to join X Factor — which just booted Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones.

While Mariah’s star power could definitely raise the show’s profile, the question remains if she’d be the right choice. Rival talent judge Randy Jackson told reporters, “She’d be amazing.” Could this be a sign of things to come?

“I don’t know if that’s ever going to happen,” Randy said, putting a smackdown on the rumors. “Look, Simon’s one of the smartest people I know. I’m sure he he’s got some very interesting ideas up his sleeve.”

There appear to be numerous shake-ups happening right now on Fox’s freshman reality series The X Factor.

In a tweet, host Steve Jones announced that he will not be returning for the show’s sophomore season. Neither will controversial judge Nicole Scherzinger, whose exit was just confirmed by a show producer, according to the LA Times.

If that wasn’t enough, there are also (admittedly unconfirmed) rumors that, yep, Paula Abdul is leaving the show, too. Yikes!

Of course, The X Factor is no stranger to change; Cheryl Cole was fired from the show shortly after auditions got underway, and was replaced by Scherzinger, who originally signed on as the show’s co-host.

Still, change can be a tough thing to deal with, and while we wait to find out if Paula really is leaving, too, we’ve offered our picks for who we’d like to see join the judges’ panel in season 2. Check them out in our gallery now!

Nick Cannon Back to Work, Explains ‘Mild Kidney Failure’

You can’t keep a good man down! Nick Cannon is back at the helm of his daily radio show on 92.3NOW and talking about the health scare that sent him to the hospital. Mr. Mariah Carey explained that his docs first thought he had acute mountain sickness during the holidays in Aspen with his wife and “Dem Babies,” twins Monroe and Moroccan.

“They thought it was kidney stones … then a kidney infection,” he went on. “They found out my kidneys weren’t functioning well.”

As for the “mild kidney failure” (which is not really a medical term), he says, “We didn’t want to say ‘kidney failure’ so people would think I gotta get new kidneys and Gary Coleman and all that stuff, so we said ‘mild kidney failure.’”

Darren Criss’ Most Surreal Moment: Being Introduced to Mariah Carey by Whitney Houston

Darren Criss may be a big star himself on Broadway and TV, but this Glee guy still gets starstruck.

The actor described his most surreal moment since hitting Hollywood, telling Details magazine:

“I never thought I would meet Mariah Carey, but I really never thought I’d be introduced to her by Whitney Houston. She’s like, ‘Hey, baby, this is Mariah.’ I’m like, ‘I know. I’m Darren. I don’t know what I’m doing here.’”

He said of joining the celebrity elite:

“Hollywood is a strange, strange thing. I feel like I’ve been invited to a very exclusive ball and I’m just trying to make nice with everybody and hope that if they kick me out they’ll at least give me a ride home.”

Darren just hit the Broadway stage this past week to succeed Daniel Radcliffe in the play How to Succeed in Business Without Even Trying. He said jokingly of once again sporting a bowtie, “I’ve been pigeonholed.”

Nick Cannon in ‘Good Spirts’ But Still Recovering After Mild Kidney Failure

Nick Cannon appears to be in good spirits, after he was hospitalized with what wife Mariah Carey termed “mild kidney failure.” In a new photo, uploaded by Mariah, she is playfully kissing her hubby, while he rests up in an Aspen hospital.

“Thank you everyone for all the love & concern. Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis. Hopefully he’ll be discharged within 2 days. As always, he’s laughing and in good spirits,” she tweeted.

The couple have high hopes about Nick’s recovery, telling People, “The situation is not easy.” Carey says Cannon is stable but “in a lot of pain.”

“We are hopeful that he’ll be 100 percent as soon as possible,” she added.

Mariah Carey Gives Health Update on Nick Cannon’s ‘Mild Kidney Failure’

Doting wife Mariah Carey is standing by her man. After her hubby Nick Cannon was hospitalized with what she termed “mild kidney failure,” she’s acting as full time nurse! While a full recovery is expected (whew) she tells People that he’s “in a lot of pain.”

“As always, he’s in good spirits considering the situation,” she said, “[but] the situation is not easy.”

Nick must be on the mend somewhat, because he tweeted that he’s being transferred to a hospital in L.A., saying “I will be a’ight.”

“We are hopeful that he’ll be 100 percent as soon as possible,” Mariah added. “We really appreciate everybody’s love and support.”

Actor and radio host Nick Cannon is getting his new year off to a painful start, as he’s apparently laid up in an Aspen hospital after suffering what his wife Mariah Carey calls “mild kidney failure.”

Carey tweeted a photo of Nick in his hospital bed and also took to her her blog to write some words of support for her ailing hubby. Mariah describes the situation as “role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are.” She continues, explaining,

We’re trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C.

We’re doing OK but we’re “straaaaaanded in Aspen”. #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we’re together, we’re OK. I’m not trying to make light out of the situation because it’s a serious moment that’s very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM.

On Twitter, Mariah said “Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure,” but didn’t give much else in the way of information or detail.

Masked Nick Cannon Helps Wife Mariah Carey Through the Snow (PHOTOS)

The couple spent their holiday in Aspen, Colorado, where they bundled up to brave the elements in the bitter cold ski community. Hence, the mask. Nick gives Mariah a hand as they leave her mother’s store, Joan Boyce jewelry, after they reportedly had a celebration of sorts and sipped on champagne.

It seems the couple is all about the holidays this year. Not only did they have a white Christmas, but in Mariah’s music video for “When Christmas Comes,” she and Nick are seen with their adorable twins, Moroccan and Monroe, dressed in adorable holiday outfits as dotting dad Nick plays with them.

“I’ll Be Home For Christmas” is one of our favorite Christmas classics, and Kelly Clarkson definitely does the song justice!

We love New Girl star Zooey Deschanel, and when she joins with Matt Ward to form She & Him, we can’t stop smiling! Their cover of ”Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is amazing!

Yes, the Biebs makes the list twice. But just listen to his “All I Want for Christmas is You” duet with Mariah Carey and you’ll see why!

Last but not least, we have Darren Criss and Chris Colfer‘s fast and flirty duet of ”Let it Snow”, which will be on Glee‘s 2011 Christmas album! They sound great together, and we love the new take on the holiday hit!

Yesterday, Mariah was bundled up in a kimono style jacket in Aspen, Colorado, as she did a little holiday shopping. The outerwear was tied together by a brown belt and paired with black bottoms and brown boots.
