But the talented actors were photographed kissing Tuesday afternoon in New York City while filming a scene for their new movie, Thanks for Sharing.

In the film, from Kids Are All Right screenwriter Stuart Blumberg, Gwyneth and Mark play two sex addicts who just so happen to fall for each other. (Something tells us the may wind up doing a lot more than just kissing.) Tim Robbins and Joley Richardson co-star.

]]> All the superheroes are joining forces on May 4, 2012, but until then Entertainment Weekly (on newsstands Sept. 30) has your first look of the comic book stars in their Avengers costumes. 

The film unites Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Mark Ruffalo’s The Incredible Hulk, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. Renner told EW of the characters: 

“Just because they’re super heroes doesn’t mean they’re super friends.”

This movie is sure to be full of surprises with writer-director Joss Whedon admitting to the magazine: 

“There is a weird element of: they handed me one of the biggest movies of all time, and I’m making it up as I go.”

Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo were just some of the principle castmembers on set to film a scene for the movie, which blasts into theaters on May 4, 2012.

Among the notable glimpses from the set included Scar Jo’s red-orange hair and Chris Hemsworth decked out in his Thor costume – not something you see every day in Manhattan.

In a new interview with GQ (via FOX News), the Zodiac actor claims that the Pennsylvania branch of the DHS placed him on its terrorist watch list, after he screened the documentary GasLand in the Keystone State and spoke out about the practice of natural gas drilling earlier this year. 

Ruffalo’s reaction to being lumped in with Al Qaeda and other baddies? The 43-year-old actor tells the magazine that it was “pretty f*ckin’ funny” to receive news of his inclusion on the list.

The DHS itself would probably find Ruffalo’s story funny too—or at least fishy. Contacted about Ruffalo’s claim by the Philadelphia Enquirer, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency adamantly dismissed the story,  asserting,

“His name is not in any of our bulletins. There is no list, we never even had a list.”

Sounds like someone might be getting an extra-thorough pat-down from the TSA next time he tries to catch a flight.

The 39-year-old hairdresser was found at his Beverly Hills, California, condo on December 1, and died later that evening at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Now Ruffalo’s death has been officially ruled a homicide following an autopsy report, states the New York Daily News.

The findings note, “The entry wound is located at the top of the head at the frontoparietal scalp.”

While foul play was initially suspected in Scott Ruffalo’s death, police let main suspect Shaha Mishaal Adham—who was present in the condo at the time of the shooting—go free, after the incident was deemed a game of Russian Roullette gone badly.

However, a week later cops ruled the shooting to be a homicide, which the coroner’s report seems to now confirm.

In the meantime, Mark Ruffalo, 41, has dropped out of appearing in the upcoming Noah Baumbach film Greenburg.

He’s now expected to be replaced by Ben Stiller.

In a cruel piece of timing, Mark’s latest movie, sadly titled What Doesn’t Kill You, was released on December 12, 2008, less than two weeks after the December 1 shooting.

Actor Jeremy Piven is too ill to continue his run in Broadway’s Speed-the-Plow. TMZ reports that Piven missed Wednesday night’s performance, yesterday’s matinee, and will also allegedly miss tonight’s showing of the David Mamet play. “Jeremy has not been feeling well and the doctors have advised him that he should end his run in ‘STP’ immediately, his rep said. Piven’s illness is reportedly mercury poisoning.

People reports that former Full House actress Jodie Sweetin recently underwent an emergency investigation by Orange County family court for allegations of substance abuse brought up by her estranged husband Cody Herpin. It was decided that Sweetin, a former meth addict, now has to raise Zoie, her 8-month-old daughter with Herpin, in her parent’s home or in the presence of her parents. Custody for Zoie has been ruled 50/50 by a judge between Sweetin and Herpin.

Us reports that a recent story in Star about former 90210 and Saved By The Bell actress Tiffani Thiessen being pregnant is false. “She is not expecting,” a rep says. “They [Thiessen and husband Brady Smith] would love to have a family someday in the near future, but right now she is focused on working.”

The Times Online reports that German film critics are panning Tom Cruise‘s performance in the Nazi thriller Valkyrie in which Cruise plays an SS colonel plotting to assassinate Adolph Hitler. “The only thing that can definitely be said about this cinema adventure is that Tom Cruise, who has been damaged by his bizarre talk-show behaviour, may well continue storming the heights of the Scientology hierarchy as a thetan, but his image as an actor has been finally ruined by Valkyrie,” said Berlin daily Der Tages-spiegel’s critic.

The film is being directed by Noah Baumbach, who previously helmed The Squid and the Whale and Margot at the Wedding. Plot details for Greenburg are being kept under wraps.

Ben Stiller, 43, is expected to replace Ruffalo, 41. Female lead Amy Adams has also dropped out of the film, though no reason was given why. So far there’s no word of her replacement.

Ruffalo’s 39-year-old brother Scott Ruffalo was found in his Beverly Hills condo on December 1 after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. He died on December 8.

Shaha Mishaal Adham had been the prime suspect in the shooting case, as she was present at Scott Ruffalo’s home on December 1. She turned herself in to authorities on Monday, but was cleared of any wrongdoing. It was determined Scott had accidentally shot himself while playing a game of Russian roulette.

In perhaps a cruel twist of fate, Mark Ruffalo’s latest film, the crime/drama What Doesn’t Kill, is out in theaters tomorrow.

E! reports that Britney Spears is back in the Billboard Top 200 at #1. Her newest offering Circus has sold more than 500,000 copies since last week. Her album release is officially the second most successful debut of a solo female artist for 2008, topped only by Taylor Swift.

Coldplay has released a public statement responding to a recent plagarism lawsuit brought against them by guitarist Joe Satriani. The Times Online reports that Satriani’s suit claims that portions of their Grammy-nominated hit single “Viva La Vida” sound exactly like his 2004 song “If I Could Fly.” “With the greatest possible respect to Joe Satriani, we have now unfortunately found it necessary to respond publicly to his allegations,” read the statement. “If there are any similarities between our two pieces of music, they are entirely coincidental, and just as surprising to us as to him. Joe Satriani is a great musician, but he did not write the song ‘Viva La Vida.’ We respectfully ask him to accept our assurances of this and wish him well with all future endeavours.” 

Yahoo reports that Jennifer Hudson is getting back to work since the October shooting deaths of her mother, brother and nephew. She is filming a video for her single “If It Isn’t Love” off of her solo debut album. Hudson had been in seclusion since the tragedy, but recently released a statement after being nominated for four Grammys. “It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing,” she said. “I am extremely honored and humbled by the nominations.”

MSNBC reports that Keanu Reeves, currently starring in The Day The Earth Stood Still, has said “never say never” to possibly starring in another sequel to his 1994 hit Speed. Reeves opted out of the initial sequel to the movie and was replaced by Jason Patric. Keanu says it would be “groovy” to work with Speed co-star Sandra Bullock again. “Maybe (if) we were traveling through Europe… maybe on the Serengeti, and there was some kind of mishap,” the actor added. “It could be like a world tour. (Or) maybe we could go to Polynesia and then take us all across the world. Maybe if we shot for like four months and we have like a week off in every country, telling this kind of adventurous story for this couple.”

Ruffalo, 39, was found in his condo on North Palm Drive in Beverly Hills on Monday, December 1. He passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles late Monday night, according to Beverly Hills Police Sgt. Renato Moreno.

Police are still investigating the shooting of Ruffalo, a hairdresser who is survived by his wife, Lulu. Yesterday Shaha Mishaal Adham, 26, was arrested on an attempted murder warrant related to the case. Brian Scofield, 29, also identified as a person of interest by authorities, is being held as well. Adham’s court date is tentatively scheduled for tomorrow.

According to Mark Ruffalo’s publicist, Jessica Kolstad, the actor had been at his brother’s bedside in the hospital since the shooting.

UPDATE:

According to TMZ, Shaha Mishaal Adham, the woman who surrendered to Beverly Hills Police in connection with the gunshot death of Scott Ruffalo, is claiming that the hairdresser brother of actor Mark Ruffalo shot himself in the head while playing a game of Russian roulette.

According to the site, Adham is claiming she arrived at Ruffalo’s condo to reclaim a Land Rover she had loaned to him.

Allegedly, after Ruffalo put the gun to his head and fired, Adham fled the home and contacted Brian Scofield, her boyfriend, who in turn called 911.

No word yet on if investigators believe Shaha’s version of events.

Page Six reports that the Manhattan loft in which actor Heath Ledger died in January has been taken off the rental market. The $26,000 per month, three-bedroom loft at 419 Broome St. was officially relisted in late July. The Corcoran Group stated that the the 4,400-square-foot rental property is “temporarily off the market.”

80s singing icon Boy George has been found guilty of holding a male escort against his will in a London court, according to TMZ. A jury has found that Boy had chained Audun Carlsen to his bed in George’s London flat against his will and whipped him with a chain until Carlsen escaped. The judge in the case says that Boy (real name George O’Dowd) is facing jail time for unlawful imprisonment.

E! reports that Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks has been served with a libel suit. The stepfather of one of the boys slain in the infamous “West Memphis Three” case is suing Maines for suggesting at a rally for the three imprisoned suspects that he had something to do with his stepson Stephen Branch’s and two other 8-year-old boys’ deaths in 1993. Terry Hobbs states that Maines’ statements were “so extreme in degree as to be beyond the pale of decency and to be regarded as atrocious and utterly intolerable in civilized society” in his lawsuit.

Britney Spears‘ first husband Jason Alexander was arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday for a parole violation. Alexander reportedly did not complete an alcohol education program as part of his parole for a 2006 DUI conviction. Alexander will spend ten days in jail, according to sources.
