The Jonas Brothers are back.

Not only is the boy band set to hit the road again in February, but they will also finally drop their follow-up to 2010′s Lines, Vines and Trying Times this year.

“The new album is finally done, and we are so excited,” Kevin Jonas told Celebuzz, in an exclusive interview.”We wanted to take a little extra time on it to make sure it was right and we’ve been working for almost a year now on it.”

But longtime JoBros will find that their music has matured, as new stages in life inspire their songwriting.

“I’m in a completely different place than I was when we wrote our last album three years ago,” Kevin explained, noting he’s now been married to wife Danielle Jonas for three years. “I’ve been through a lot, so much good. And I’ve learned a lot about Danielle and…I’ve really grown as a person, too.”

“I was very excited to put that into music,” he continued. “Everything I write, there’s a piece of Danielle in each part of it. Each one of the guys, as well, puts their own individual stamp on it.”

Now they’re taking their new sound on the road, with a 12-date Latin and South America tour. “We’re just really looking forward to seeing the fans again,” Jonas said. “The fans down there are so passionate and so exciting.”

While Danielle will join the JoBros for part of the tour, the couple has mastered keeping their love alive while Kevin is away alone. “Because I travel so much, we always just look toward the day I’m coming back,” Kevin said. “It might be Monday, I’m coming back on Saturday, but Saturday is the focus.”

“It’s about communication,” Kevin continued. Which is why the couple has made a tradition of trading handwritten letter, sometimes as small tokens of affections and others to be mailed during periods of long-distance. “That’s why we’re so excited to be a part of the U.S. Postal Service’s Seal With Love campaign,” he said, with Danielle adding that “it makes it known that it’s coming from the heart.”

For the longtime loves, mail has always be a means of sharing their romance. Danielle still cherishes a extra-special Valentine’s Day package she once received from Kevin. “He had mailed me a big box of letters, a stuffed animal and a video camera with him showing me the stage and what he was doing on tour,” she recalled. “I don’t think I’ll ever forget that.”

But their Valentine’s is “not always about the gift,” Kevin added.

“We always try to do something together. For us, the tradition is writing letters to each other. That way you can collect them throughout the years.” And though they stayed mum on the details this year’s V Day plan — when they will be filming the second season of their E! reality show, Married to Jonas — the couple are planning to “get away,” Kevin said, “and spend some time, just me and her. We’ll definitely have a good time.”

FOX’s The X Factor host Mario Lopez has some extra time to relax now that one of his hosting gigs, America’s Best Dance Crew, is coming to an end. MTV is canceling the Randy Jackson-produced dance show after seven seasons from 2008 to 2012. [THR]

E! has renewed Married to Jonas for Season 2. The show, which features Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle, is produced by Ryan Seacrest productions. The second season will follow Kevin and his brothers as they finish their new album and head back on tour. The series is set to return in spring of 2013. [E!]

ABC gave a nod to its much beloved new series, Nashville. The network ordered nine more episodes from the musical drama to complete its full season. The series is the highest watched of the network’s freshman dramas with an average 9.4 million viewers. [EW]

CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 is paying tribute to its predecessor yet again by filming an updated version of fan favorite episode, “Hookman.” The episode, which aired almost 40 years ago, won an Emmy in 1974 for Best Music Composition. Peter Weller will star on the episode as the title villain and is also set to direct the episode. [EW]

Fans of FOX’s Fringe , get excited. The Science Channel is about to broadcast the series in its entirety beginning next week on Tues. Nov 20. On Tuesday, the network will air the two-hour pilot and one episode then will air the first season in full on Nov. 23 and 24. Season 2 will begin airing the following Tuesday with three hours of Fringe every Tuesday from then on. The block of shows will include featurettes, entitled “Science of Fringe,” in which real scientists explain the phenomona tackled in the show. [EW]

Shirley Jones, the matriarch of the Partridge Family is coming to the Cul-de-Sac on TBS’ Cougar Town. Jones and her better half will buy the house next to Jules (Courtney Cox) on the condition that they are welcomed into the crew. Season 4 of Cougar Town kicks off Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 10 PM on TBS. Bachelor Ben Flajnik is reportedly heading back to TV with a new series on E! The reality star is in talks with the cable channel for his own series. It will feature Flajnik and his co-workers at his Sonoma based winery, Envolve. His friends and family will also be a part of the show. [Wetpaint]

The voice behind Elmo, Kevin Clash, is taking a leave of absence. In a statement released by the Sesame Workshop, it was a revealed a now 23-year-old man approached executives in June with a claim that Clash engaged in a sexual relationship with him when he was 16. Though the company’s investigation “found the allegation of underage conduct to be unsubstantiated,” they did find him guilty of using poor judgment and breaking internet usage policies. Clash denies all allegations and issued a statement to TMZ saying, “I had a relationship with [the accuser]. It was between two consenting adults and I am deeply saddened that he is trying to make it into something it was not.” [TVLine]

ABC’s Once Upon a Time took a dive in the ratings Sunday night after three straight weeks of gains, falling a total of 23 percent with only 8.7 million viewers. Meanwhile the network’s freshman supernatural drama, 666 Park Avenue, remained steady but matched a series’ low. NBC won the night with Sunday Night Football and 18.7 million viewers. [TV Guide]

Though FX’s Louie won’t be back until Season 4, HBO has announced they will broadcast a new stand-up comedy special from Louis CK in 2013. The Emmy-winner’s special will be taped at one of his 16 stops on his sold out tour. [HBO]

But, the young couple has something else up their sleeve and Celebuzz has an exclusive sneak peek.

From family members pressuring them about having a baby, heated spats and more than a few misadventures in party planning, we’ve watched Kevin and Danielle experience some very loving situations and some very uncomfortable ones. On the next episode, the pair has apparently found a way to combine the two.

What’s Kevin and Danielle cooking up?

Honestly, we have no clue. But, clearly Kevin is giddy with excitement over telling his in-laws whatever it is while they’re uncharacteristically “roughing it” on a camping trip. Danielle, on the other hand, is searching for the right moment to drop the bomb.

Life was bound to change for Dina Deleasa after her sister, Danielle Deleasa, married Jonas Brothers band member Kevin Jonas. But, one would expect those changes to get multiplied exponentially after agreeing to be on E!’s new reality series, Married to Jonas. But, the Jo Bro sister-in-law says that just isn’t the case.

“Everybody has been really, really positive,” Dina, the oldest of the Deleasa girls, tells Celebuzz. “We were definitely bracing ourselves for both sides of the coin, but people have been so nice.”

“The Jonas Brothers fans are like a strong army, so they are really great,” she continued. “They are really supportive, and I have to say, I know the show has only been out for a couple weeks now but I haven’t really had any issues like going to the grocery store and there’s like people on me. Like I’ve been pretty good at being undetected at this point.”

Celebuzz spoke with Dina about life as a Jonas in-law, the issues that have arisen onscreen and what’s to come on the series.

Celebuzz: When you all were deciding on whether to do the show, were there any hesitations from you or your family?
Dina Deleasa: We definitely all had hesitations when going into this. We wanted to be supportive of Kevin and Danielle and what they wanted to do, and it took a lot of family meetings, a lot of talking, because this is something that maybe Kevin has dealt with and Kevin is used to but it’s not something that Danielle and the rest of the family are accustomed to. So, Kevin and his family have been really helpful all along the way with helping us out with any questions we had.

We just thought if we could put something positive out there, then it was worth doing. And at the end of the day, as long as we kept our family unit intact and our values intact and what we had with each other and didn’t compromise it, you know, just for TV, then we were okay and we were doing the right thing. And that’s exactly what we did. What you see is just us spending time together and how we live or as we do life.

CB: On the show, Dani is getting a lot of pressure to have a baby. What are your thoughts on that?
DD: Any newlywed, naturally, is going to get asked, “When are you going to have the baby?” That’s all just like normal talk. With Danielle and Kevin, obviously things are a little bit different because of his schedule and her lifestyle and the traveling. But, having a baby takes a lot of thought for anybody, for any couple. It’s a big life change and you shouldn’t just throw life changes to the wind and just say, “Whatever.” So, they’re doing the right thing by thinking about it and talking about it and trying to make sure they’re as ready as they could possibly be for a baby.

CB: Does it bother you when Kevin’s mom is critical of Dani like when she used paper napkins instead of cloth ones?
DD: Not really, because we know them on another level. And we really know their intentions and really know Denise’s heart and everything. And that mother-in-law/ daughter-in-law relationship is always difficult to find like your good spot where you really understand one another. At the beginning, it’s all everyone’s just taking things a certain way and interpreting things, but I know that every family is different. And, you know, Kevin’s family really loves Danielle and they really want the best for Kevin and Danielle.

And as far as us with them, it’s the same thing. They are always reaching out to us. I text message Denise and Denise text messages me that, you know, “Thinking about you. Praying about you.” So, we have a different relationship that’s on another level that might not come through necessarily on TV just yet.

CB: On the next episode, Kevin is going to be planning your birthday party. How does that work out?
DD: Kevin just always wants to do everything for everyone. He’s awesome. But, sometimes he gets himself into a little bit of trouble. He’s overzealous, but that’s part of his personality. And, yeah, he attempts to throw me a birthday party and everyone’s going to get to see how exactly he does that.

CB: So, how does Kevin do in the end?
DD: He’s very creative. He can make lemonade out of lemons, that kind of thing. He definitely can. That’s basically, I think, the biggest message, is he may mess up in the beginning, but he always pulls it out in the end.

Nick Jonas‘ potential new gig as a judge on American Idol may just be the tip of the iceberg for a new phase in the careers of the Jonas Brothers. All three of the singing siblings may find their showbiz sell-by dates extended by their ventures into reality TV.

Besides Nick’s possible job on TV’s biggest reality competition, there was also Joe Jonas‘ recent stint as a celebrity bachelor on Fox’s The Choice. And there’s E!’s new celebreality series Married to Jonas (debuting Aug. 19), which will focus mostly on Kevin and Danielle Jonas‘ marriage but will also feature all three brothers as they create new music for the trio’s reunion.

Could moving into reality TV be a smart move for a group who, as they age out of the boy-band sweet spot (replaced by younger stars like One Direction and Wanted), may want to reach a new audience and reconnect with the initial fans who may have outgrown them? More broadly, could they be creating a template for career longevity for tween icons whose stardom usually has a built-in expiration date?

Mind you, this is assuming Nick Jonas even gets the Idol job, which is by no means a done deal. In fact, Jonas’ enthusiastic Twitter touting of his candidacy probably means he’s a long shot, said TVLine.com Senior Editor and Idol expert Michael Slezak. “When you’ve tweeted it, you’re probably less in the running than you think you are,” Slezak told Celebuzz, noting that Jonas may be running afoul of the Fox network and the show’s creators, who prefer to release such information on their own timetable. “It’s a savvy move to get himself free publicity, but not if he actually wants the job.”

Still, even if Nick doesn’t end up telling Idol contestants how pitchy they are, the brothers will still have ties to Idol host and reality mini-mogul Ryan Seacrest, who’s producing Married to Jonas. “An association with Ryan Seacrest is never a bad thing,” Slezak said. “If you’re good to Ryan, hopefully he’ll be good to you.”

Actually, there is an earlier model of success for tween-music heartthrobs to transition into non-musical fame via reality TV: Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. “They showed that the celebreality route can be the best path to a second career,” Slezak said.

But reality TV could take the Jonases away from their first career, as it did Simpson. “The risk for the Jonas Brothers is that these commitments take them further and further away from what drew fans to them in the first place: music,” said Hollywood Reporter music editor Shirley Halperin. “Look at Jessica Simpson, who was a singer, then turned reality star (on a very similarly-themed reality show) — she was never able to regain her music following. Although she found a new calling in fashion.” Then again, Simpson and Lachey seem to have found the trade-off worthwhile, Slezak said. “They’re not on the Billboard charts anymore, but they’re still making pretty good money, and they’re still very present. So for Kevin, that makes sense.”

On the other hand, if the Jonases make a point of using reality TV as a way to return to music stardom (as seems to be the case with Married to Jonas), that can be a smart strategy, experts say. In an age of declining radio and MTV exposure for musicians, reality TV may prove an ideal platform, at least for pop singers. “The traditional objection to music stars going on realty TV is a loss of credibility,” said Michael Hirschorn, founder of Ish Entertainment and a veteran creator of celebreality shows. “For stars who are pop or boy-band whose sell was commercial from the beginning, reality TV is just and extension of that. it is a good way to extend your brand or to sell records. It is arguably the only effective way now to break thru the clutter.”

Ultimately, whether reality TV helps or hurts the brothers depends on execution, Slezak said. It’s OK for celebreality stars to be funny or even weird as long as they don’t come off as “desperate.” That’s the word Slezak used to describe Joe’s stint on The Choice. Of the three brothers’ attempts at TV fame, “that was the most ill-advised,” Slezak said.

Whatever happens, the group’s initial die-hard fanbase will probably stick with them, as fans have for another brotherly trio, Hanson, “that has held onto its core audience and kept the fans satisfied even through changes in popular music, marriages, kids, and various label deals,” Halperin said. But that group of early adopters can’t increase; it can only shrink. “A  teen audience can grow with you, but in age, not necessarily in size,” she said.

The difficulty for the Jonas Brothers may be in developing distinct identities for audiences who don’t know the trio. “One challenge for them is differentiating themselves from each other,” Slezak said. Can all three of them find success? “It’s always hard for everybody to have the same level of post-teen heartthrob success.”
