On last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel debuted this Lonely Island-esque music video for “(I Wanna) Channing All Over Your Tatum” by Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx with increasingly bizarre cameos from Olivia Munn, Gabourey Sibide, Miley Cyrus and oh my god is that Matt Damon at the 3:50 mark? Please someone tell me what is going on here.

Don’t mess with robot police officers. They can sense sarcasm, hurt you and offer you colorful (and probably dangerous pills).

This is the scene that sets the foundation for Elysium, the sci-fi thriller starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.

TriStar Pictures’ new extended trailer — which runs for some three minutes — sheds more light on the storyline set in 2154. Secretary Delacourt (Foster) and the wealthy live on Elysium while Max (Damon) and the underprivileged remain on Earth, pretty much rotting away.

The new preview also includes more screen time for Diego Luna, who helps prepare Max for his journey to Elysium and what appears to be the ultimate battle with a character named Kruger (played by Sharlto Copley).

Elysium, directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9), opens stateside Aug. 9.

Hayden Panettiere waved “Hello” as she made her way inside the BBC Radio 2 studios in London, England. The 23-year-old Nashville star has been across the pond all week, beginning with the annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

In other global sightings, Gerard Butler promoted his latest film Olympus Has Fallen in Munich, Nick Lachey paid a visit to Global Toronto’s The Morning Show and Amanda Seyfried hit the red carpet in style for the Shiseido Cle De Peau Beate gala dinner in Hong Kong.

Stateside, Olivia Palermo, Anna Kendrick and Chace Crawford celebrated the Governors Ball Party early with the help of SKYY Vodka, Gretchen Rossi showed off her engagement ring at the Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine 5 Year Anniversary event in Los Angeles while Katie Holmes braved the rain after dropping daughter Suri off at school.

This weekend, Ben Affleck will be officially named Guy of the Year at the 2013 Spike TV Guys’ Choice Awards — five years after longtime BFF Matt Damon took home the same award.

In honor of Affleck’s latest piece of hardware (adding to his growing collection of Golden Globes and Oscars) and his friendship with Damon, Celebuzz is taking a look at the duo through the years, beginning with their Good Will Hunting days.

The 2013 Spike Guys’ Choice Awards, which will be handed out in Los Angeles on June 8, will air on Spike TV on June 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Jimmy Kimmel, Vince Vaughn and Kevin Hart will also be honored at the show.

That’s director George Clooney to you, Matt Damon.

On Thursday, Clooney was spotted calling the shots on the set of his new film Monuments Men in Buckinghamshire in southeast England, as Damon prepped for a scene with a horse and carriage.

The film, which has been in production since March 2013, is based on Robert M. Edsel’s 2009 book The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History. Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, Bill Murray and Clooney himself also star in the big screen adaptation, which will tell the story of an Allied group that sets out to save pieces of art and other cultural items during World War II.

The film reteams Clooney with his Argo co-producer Grant Heslov. The pair also wrote the screenplay for Monuments Men, due in December.

Last night, HBO premiered its highly-anticipated biopic, Behind The Candelabra.  It was gayer, grander and glitzier than any of us could have imagined.

Michael Douglas and Matt Damon played their roles perfectly (as did Damon’s butt), and who’d have thought that Rob Lowe would steal the show as Dr. Jack Startz?  Add too much botox on top of an already-gorgeous mug, and you’ve got yourself an early 80s plastic surgeon (complete with a leisure suit).

“When I walked on the set and looked at Michael with his fat suit and caftan, Matt in his velour, butt-hugger shorts and Farrah wig, and me as Startz — I said, ‘It’s over for all of us. This is it,’” Lowe said in an interview, according to the Huffington Post.  ”There were days when I would go, ‘This is the end, for sure, of my career.’”

Hell no, Lowe!  It did the exact opposite.

Now this is “Elysium.”

Matt Damon has placed his seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms mega-mansion on the real estate market for a whopping $20 million.

Located in Miami, the 12,700 square foot estate is situated on two contiguous lots overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Listing details reveal that the abode also features a custom-fitted den, a home theater, a temperature-controlled wine cellar and a roomy kitchen equipped with high-end stainless steel appliances and furnished marble counter tops and back splashes.

But this is just one of the many properties the Oscar winner owns.

Last September, Damon, 42, splashed out $15 million for another lavish pad located in California’s upscale Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

The home, which boasts six bedrooms and eight baths, also happens to be a few doors down from childhood pal Ben Affleck‘s multi-million digs.

HBO on Monday debuted the official trailer for Behind the Candelabra, the much-anticipated Liberace biopic from Steven Soderbergh.

The nearly two-minute preview shows a lot of things that will have the celebrity news programs giggling tonight: lots of lovey-dovey scenes between stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon (even though the trailer never actually shows them kissing; thanks, HBO!); lots of hair; and a whole lot of sequin.

But once you get past all that (it is, after all, 2013), the preview suggests that the movie, about Liberace’s tumultuous relationship with his much-younger boyfriend, Scott Thorson, is actually going to be pretty serious — the same approach Soderbergh took to the world of male stripping in last year’s Magic Mike.

March 14 — a.k.a. 3.14 — is Pi Day, a celebration of the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Many honor the mathematical holiday with wacky traditions, from foodies ironically indulging in pies — even the pizza variety counts — to MIT announcing acceptances to freshman applicants.

It isn’t a live show without a little controversy.

In between all the glitz and glamour, the podium at the Oscars has provided some pretty shocking moments over the years.

Take it from the winners themselves: From F-bombs to politically-fueled rants, delivering the perfect acceptance speech in front of millions of viewers can cause even the most poised actor or filmmaker to fall under pressure.

At the same time, not all speeches go awry. Whether they’re tearfully thanking their parents or jumping for joy, those few minutes in the spotlight, with the golden statue in hand, can be the most gratifying and humbling moment in a celebrity’s career.

While accepting the award for Best Original Screenplay in 1998, Good Will Hunting stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were so overcome with happiness they drifted away from their formal thank-yous and began yelling out all the names they could remember mid-way through their speech.

In turn, Angelina Jolie raised many, many eyebrows among Academy members when she infamously professed her love for her brother James Haven (whom she also shared a smooch with before taking the stage) as she accepted the honor for Best Supporting Actress for her work in 1999′s Girl, Interrupted.

Most recently, Melissa Leo drove the FCC’s censors wild after dropping an unexpected F-bomb while taking home a win for her supporting role in The Fighter in 2010.

Jack Davenport, stars as Derek Wills, the seductive director/choreographer on NBC’s Smash and promises an explosive second season for the show.

“There are lots of cop shows and medical shows, but there’s only one show on TV about Broadway,” Davenport t0ld Celebuzz. “And that’s clearly what people come for, so why not double down on that? In many ways, we’ve done that literally, because now there are two musicals, not one. Broadly speaking, we’re giving more of what people want, we hope.”

So does that mean the snappy director will finally get his own time in the spotlight?

“Without being too specific, some of Derek’s more questionable interpersonal techniques may come back to haunt him in no uncertain terms,” the actor teased. “What has been interesting is playing a character whose job it is to essentially appear invulnerable, becoming really quite vulnerable at times, so that’s been kind of great.”

The 39-year-old actor also said that Derek is not based on any one director, explaining, “If I did, I probably wouldn’t be talking to you right now, I’d be in court!” Rather his diva antics are “possibly filched from one or two directors” that he has worked with.

That would definitely not include the late Anthony Minghella who directed him in The Talented Mr. Ripley alongside Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.

“That movie does stand up, doesn’t it? It’s a beautiful film to look at. Also, that film represents the only time in my life I’ll be able to say, ‘I was in a film and had a bigger part than Philip Seymour Hoffman.’ It didn’t really work out for him, but that’s OK,” he joked.

Davenport’s father, Nigel, is also an actor and he says that being surrounded by thespians as a child influenced his career choice. “Both my parents did the responsible thing at the time, which was to slightly warn me off it because it’s not the easiest life,” he said.

“It’s not coal mining, but it has its moments. In truth, I was surrounded by a lot of actors as a kid. I was always beguiled by this unpatronizing, playful group of people. I just wanted to be in that tribe really. I wish I could pretend it was burning ambition, it wasn’t and it still isn’t. I wanted to be in that tribe and now I just want to remain a member of that tribe, that’s it really.”

You may also recognize the actor from the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy in which he played Commodore James Norrington.

“It was a lot of fun,” he remembered. “It was a pretty mad ride because it sort of represents the last moment when movies were made like that. 700 of us flew to the ends of the earth for years and blew sh** up, big things, and now they do it all on computers.”

Back on dry land, the married father of one is relishing playing the resident bad boy of Broadway.

“The devil always gets the best tunes!” he laughed.

AnnaSophia Robb put her best Carrie Bradshaw face on as the young actress filmed new scenes for her CW show The Carrie Diaries in New York City on Wednesday.

“On set with our director jannturner and @jakerobinsonact,” the 19-year-old wrote on Twitter.

On the west coast, Kim Kardashian dressed up her growing baby bump in a form fitting black dress and blazer. The 32-year-old reality TV star headed to Santa Monica, Calif., for a conference.

One day after attending the 2013 Oscars Luncheon in Los Angeles (and posing for the nominees class photo), Anne Hathaway jetted off to the City of Love with her love, husband Adam Shulman.

The 30-year-old Les Miserables star stayed warm in a long black coat, knee high boots and purple scarf.

In other sightings, a fresh-faced Alessandra Ambrosio was spotted picking up a hot beverage in Brentwood, Calif., while Anna Paquin took her baby twins out for a stroll in West Hollywood.

Matt Damon locks lips with Michael Douglas in the upcoming HBO biopic Behind the Candelabra, about Liberace and his lover, Scott Thorson. Remarkably, however, it wasn’t Douglas who was fantasizing about his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, while the two shared their kiss, but Damon.

“When Matt Damon was kissing Michael, I found [out] — which is very flattering for me — [Matt] closed his eyes and pretended he was kissing me,” Zeta-Jones told Celebuzz while promoting her new movie, Side Effects. “I just thought that was one of the biggest compliments I’ve ever had!”

“If my husband’s going to kiss anyone else in the world, I’m so happy it’s Matt Damon,” she added with a laugh.

Opening Friday, Side Effects — which tells the story of a doctor (Jude Law) whose life falls into shambles after he prescribes a drug to a woman (Rooney Mara) battling depression — reteamed Zeta-Jones with director Steven Soderbergh for the third time (after Traffic and Ocean’s Eleven, respectively), which was something she couldn’t wait to experience.

“He rubbed my feet when I was pregnant on Traffic and that’s the only reason why I keep coming back,” she joked about the Oscar-winning filmmaker. “He looked after a pregnant woman so well, I just knew I’d always be in good hands.”

The film, in which she plays Dr. Victoria Siebert, also allowed her to do a little same-sex kissing of her own, with co-star Rooney Mara.

“I just wish she were prettier, that’s the only thing,” Zeta-Jones quipped. “She’s not funny, she’s not pretty, she can’t act.”

Matt Damon Gets Sweet Revenge Against Jimmy Kimmel

The friendly feud between pals Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon has gone on for years, but last night Damon finally got his revenge. Check out Newser to see Damon take over Kimmel’s show.

After years of being “bumped” from Jimmy Kimmel Live! at the end of each show, Matt Damon has finally gotten even.

Not only did he kidnap Jimmy Kimmel — gagging him with a tie and duct-taping him to a chair — but the Oscar-winning actor completely took over the host’s late-night ABC talker on Thursday night.

“There’s a new host in town and his initials are M.D.,” Damon said in the opening monologue of the show, which he renamed Jimmy Kimmel Sucks. “That’s right, the doctor is in…. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long, long time. This is like the time I lost my virginity, except this is going to last way longer than one second.”

And he brought along a slew of A-listers to help him in the hijacking, which follows a long-running faux feud between Damon and Kimmel.

Jennifer Lopez, Sally Field, Robert De Niro, Don Cheadle, John Krasinski and Oprah Winfrey all appeared in a video applauding Damon for dethroning Kimmel for the evening. Others played a part in the actor’s Ap on stage: Ben Affleck served as a cue-card boy; Sheryl Crow replaced the in-studio band leader; Andy Garcia sat in as his sidekick; and Robin Williams helped him bring his monologue to a close.

As for guests, Nicole Kidman, Gary Oldman, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon and Demi Moore all crammed in on the talker’s couch, before Demon brought out his final guest solo, Kimmel’s ex-girlfriend Sarah Silverman. And all along, a tied-up Kimmel was banished to the back of the stage.

Damon’s takeover comes at a prime time in terms of publicity, as the show moved this month into the same timeslot as CBS’ David Letterman and NBC’s Jay Leno.

The bad blood between Damon and Kimmel dates back to the the third season of the talk show host’s ABC show, when he made a tradition of saying, “Apologies to Matt Damon, but we ran out of time,” at the end of each episode, despite the actor never being booked to appear.

Then when Damon finally sat down on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he cursed out the host before storming off stage. And in 2008, Damon teamed up with Kimmel’s then-girlfriend Silverman in a YouTube clip, in which she revealed to Kimmel: “I’m f***ing Matt Damon.” But as recently as November, Kimmel had no plans of sitting down with the A-list actor anytime soon.

“Matt Damon is unwelcome on my show,” Kimmel told Celebuzz. “We have standards and he does not meet them.”

Liberace was over the top and his flamboyance on and offstage was probably years before its time. But, the producers and the cast of HBO’s Behind the Candelabra, a biopic about the legendary pianist, not only wanted to portray that spectacle but also the man and his six-year romance with the younger Scott Thorson.

“It felt like this was a relationship between a man and a woman,” says star Matt Damon, who plays Thorson in the TV movie, at Friday’s Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, Calif.

“You’d feel at moments like ‘This is too intimate, maybe I shouldn’t be here,’” Damon, 42, continues. “But, it’s between a man and a man, and I’ve never seen that movie before. And so it was fun, but we weren’t giggling about it. We took it very seriously.”

Executive produced by Jerry Weintraub (Ocean’s Eleven, The Karate Kid) and directed by Steven Soderbergh (Magic Mike, Erin Brockovich), Behind the Candelabra is based on Thorson’s book of the same title. It covers the secretive relationship between the author and Liberace, played by Michael Douglas, which didn’t end on good terms.

“You’ll find that his whole life is portrayed in the film,” Weintraub explains. “You’ll see everything about Liberace that you could possibly want to see.”

The film goes to great lengths to portray the performer’s life: Shot in Liberace’s Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Las Vegas stomping grounds; constructing 30 different sets; and designing more than 60 costume changes for Douglas and Damon.

“It’s basically a repetition process of looking at a lot of stuff and finding that balance between knowing you’re not an impersonator,” Douglas says of getting into character. “You’re not going to ever be exactly like Liberace and trying to find the balance that makes you comfortable, makes Steven secure, and makes myself attractive to Matt.”

“[Douglas was] very, very attractive,” the Good Will Hunting actor, who goes nude for the role, smiles.

Behind the Candelabra will debut at the Cannes Film Festival before airing on HBO in May.

Another year, another round of dramatic celebrity transformations.

Bold haircuts were responsible for changing some of Hollywood’s most famous faces — and setting major trends — in 2012.

Between Anne Hathaway’s buzz cut for her role in Les Miserables to Miley Cyrus’ punk rock ‘do, dramatic haircuts became springboards for both beauties to experiment with more daring personal styles.

But hair wasn’t the only thing transforming some of Tinsletown’s brightest stars. Some of our favorite celebs went through some major weight ups and downs this year as well.

A few inches off the top of her head wasn’t all Hathaway lost for her Les Mis role this year — the Oscar hopeful turned to extreme dieting to lose 25 pounds to play the dying prostitute.

After giving birth to her first child, Jessica Simpson went with a more healthful approach to shed the baby weight, signing on as Weight Watchers’ newest spokesperson to help her shed the rumored 70-plus pounds she gained during her pregnancy. The new mom recently revealed her jaw-dropping weight loss before announcing her second pregnancy earlier this month.

Some stars, however, weren’t satisfied with just one transformation, shocking us with multiple makeovers in 2012.

Moneyball star Jonah Hill slimmed down in the later half of 2011, leaving fans shocked by this actor’s almost-gaunt appearance. But by mid-2012, Hill had filled out to almost his original weight from years prior.

No stranger to shocking looks, Ke$ha shocked critics and fans alike when she showed off a glam new look at the American Music Awards. But it wasn’t long before the edgy singer ditched her blonde waves and soft makeup for a goth-inspired hair and makeup.
