FX’s new spy series The Americans is only two episodes in and it’s already a winner for the network in ratings.

If not for its original plot, than for the phenomenal performances from both Kerri Russell and Matthew Rhys. If that doesn’t do it for you, then it may be the unexpected twists and turns set in 80s America.

At a recent screening of the new thriller, Executive Producer Graham Yostrevealed what we can expect to see from the series about a couple of KGB spies living in suburbia.

1. In a land far, far, away, and by far we mean 1980s Washington D.C.Following last week’s episode, “The Clock,” Yost says fans can expect the drama to be greatly influenced by the real life defense initiative Star Wars. “Star Wars becomes something very critical to the season,” Yost simply says.

2. Life imitates art. If you’ve wondered how much of our nation’s real life issues will tie in with the series or just how close to home things will hit, wonder no more. “In the fourth episode, President [Ronald] Reagan, who had an assassination attempt 69 days into his presidency [will be portrayed on the series],” the show boss says. “We’ll see [iconic journalist] Walter Cronkite and various things. You’ll see footage of the assignation attempt and that kind of thing, and also stock images.”

3. Something big this way comes. The assassination of a national figure is just one of the crucial things affecting the Jennings’ lives and Yost can’t wait for viewers to see it go down. “There is something that happens in the fifth episode that I remember reading in the script and going, ‘Oh my God, that’s fantastic!’ And to do that in an early episode, I think was brilliant.”

4. No one’s fate is set. Life is unpredictable, even more so when you’re under cover in a foreign country. Yost tells reporters, “We know who won the Cold War, we don’t know if Phillip and Elizabeth will survive, and that’s the story of the series. Will their marriage survive? Will their children survive? And will they actually not be killed?”

The Americans airs Wednesdays at 10PM on FX.

Sienna Miller proved in London last night that you’ve got to have friends, even better when they’re costars.

Miller and fellow beauty Keira Knightley turned out in BFF-force to the British Independent Film Awards, held on the Thames riverfront in London at the historic Old Billingsgate.

The pair strode the carpet to promote their new romantic triangle flick Edge of Love, a loose biopic  of poet Dylan Thomas, costarring Miller’s once-paramour Matthew Rhys.

The pair were spotted rekindling their headline making affair on Thanksgiving, when 26 year-old Miller attended a book party in London with Getty, 33. While that night they were spotted socializing as late as 2:30am, we’re guessing Miller had a softer go with Kiera.

Knightley has already settled on one beau, which we admit is a decidedly positive influence on embattled Miller.

Brothers and Sisters co-stars Matthew Rhys and Balthazar Getty were also friends. That is, until Balthazar began dating Rhys’ ex Sienna Miller. Then things weren’t so peachy.

E! is reporting that Rhys is furious with Getty for taking up with the fast n’ loose actress. And the two are no longer speaking.

Balthazar went AWOL over the summer, and the Brothers honchos thought Rhys would be the best person to locate the home-wrecking duo.

Rhys apparently didn’t know that Getty had been seeing his old fling until producers clued him in. Ouch.

So exactly how many lives must Sienna Miller ruin before someone stops her?

Nearly a week after their breakup, it’s still a mystery as to why in the world Sienna Miller would kick Rhys Ifans to the curb mere weeks after she spilled the sassy secrets of their romantic success to U.K. Elle.

First came news that Ifans had snooped in Miller’s text messages looking for “incriminating evidence” prior to their split. Now, according to British newspaper the Sun, Rhys has gone on a bender and is threatening to deliver a thumping to Matthew Rhys, Miller’s costar in The Edge of Love and Sienna’s once and, Ifans suspects, now current lover.

“He’s spent the week in the pub texting Sienna—begging her to change her mind,” says a source close to the ditched actor. “His hurt has turned to anger, and he has said that he will sort Matthew out when he sees him—he’s raging.”

The insider adds that Ifans has told Miller he’ll “punch [Rhys'] lights out” if he finds out she was cheating with him and that he plans to “ruin her big night at the [Edge of Love] premiere” with a public showdown.

Way to be really scary chivalrous, Rhys! Women really respect that approach. Just ask this guy.
