Olympic gymnastic McKayla Maroney became an Internet sensation last summer when her “not impressed” face was turned into an uber-popular meme.

In fact, the face — which was captured after Maroney finished second in the Individual Vault finals — was such a hit, even President Barack Obama got her to do it with her when the Gold medal-winning team visited the White House in November.

So how did it all happen? According to Maroney, it was all the President’s idea.

“He [asked me], ‘Can I do the ‘not impressed’ face with you? I do it at least once a day, so I would love to do it,’” she told Celebuzz on Wednesday in an exclusive interview. “I was like, ‘Of course! Let’s do it. I’m up for that! [Laughs]”

As for what else was said between them, Maroney says it was all a blur.

“Each of the girls had a one-on-one conversation with him, but to completely honest with you, I can’t remember any of it. I was just like, ‘I’m talking to the President!’”

Still, she looks on the whole meet-and-green fondly.

“He was one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met,” she said of Obama.

Meanwhile, Maroney — who turned 17 in December — has also turned her “not impressed” face into an endorsement deal with Dr Pepper Snapple Group, in which she is helping to promote the company’s new line of 10-calorie sodas.

“I’ve been contacted by a lot of different people and this is the first product that I’ve actually been impressed with. It’s 10 calories, which is great with me being an athlete.”

“I love it,” she said of the line, which includes 7UP TEN, A&W TEN, Sunkist TENTM soda, Canada Dry TEN and RC TEN. “It has the [same] amount of flavor as a regular soda. It’s very cool.”

President Barack Obama put on his best McKayla Maroney face earlier this week when the Olympic gymnast and her fellow “Fierce Five” members – Gabby Douglas, Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman and Kyla Ross — paid a very special visit to the White House.

“Did I just do the Not Impressed face with the President..?” Maroney, 16, wrote on Twitter after the encounter.

Team USA fans may recall that the “not impressed” face was born over the summer, when Maroney competed in the London Olympics.

After receiving a silver medal in the vault competition, the gymnast’s unimpressed reaction was caught on camera. Her famous smirk has since become an extremely popular meme online.

Following Thursday’s meeting with Obama, Wieber, who took home the team all-around gold at the London games, could barely contain her excitement.

“Such an honor meeting @BarackObama yesterday with the rest of the team. We even sat in his chair in the Oval Office!” the 17-year-old wrote on Twitter.

Enter the “Fierce Five,” fresh off “some kind of study abroad program in London” where they learned a lot about the Olympics and Gold.

They delivered his pen like no other interns could.

With a cartwheel from Gabby Douglas, a back walk-over from McKayla Maroney, some floor moves from Aly Raisman, walkout back handsprings from Kyla Ross and a walking handstand from Jordyn Weiber, Colbert got his pen in style to loud cheers from the crowd.

At the Olympics in London, the girls won Team gold. “Flying Squirrel” Douglas also won the Individual All-Around gold medal. Massachusetts native Raisman won two individual medals: Gold in Floor and bronze in the Balance Beam. Though she landed a perfect vault in the team final, Maroney fell during the individual vault finals and ended up with a silver to which a thousand memes were inspired.

Sunday night’s competition at the 2012 London Olympics included results that were both expected and surprising.

Perhaps most surprising was McKayla Maroney’s disappointing performance in the Women’s Individual Vault finals, in which the 16-year-old favorite stumbled on her second routine to finish second.

Also surprising was the Gold medal final in men’s tennis, in which Andy Murray upset Roger Federer just one month the finals at Wimbledon didn’t go his way.

4.) Usain Bolt Remains World’s Fastest Man
As expected, Usain Bolt of Jamaica dominated the Men’s 100-meter final on Sunday, taking the Gold with a time of 9.63 seconds. Yohan Blake of Jamaica (9.75 seconds) and American Justin Gatlin (9.79 seconds) finished in second and third place, respectively.

5.) Sanya Richards-Ross Stages Major Comeback
Four years after winning a disappointing Bronze, in Beijing, American runner Sanya Richards-Ross finally got her Gold medal in the 400-meter finals, finishing the race in a comfortable 49.55 seconds.
