Lindsay Lohan’s portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor on Lifetime’s Liz & Dick garnered 3.5 million total viewers Sunday night with an average of 1.3 million viewers in the ad-coveted 18-49 demographic. The biopic was down 3 million viewers from the network’s Steel Magnolias remake in early October, which had a total of 6.5 million viewers. Steel Magnolias’ ratings made the film the most watched original TV movie this year, where as Liz & Dick comes in at No. 4. In comparison, Lifetime’s original film, Abducted: The Carolina White Story, which also premiered in October saw 4.1 million total viewers. Meanwhile, in 2010, the network’s Sins of the Mother starring singer Jill Scott was the second most-watched original movie premiere at the time with 2.7 million total viewers.  [Deadline]

Wolfgang Puck is headed to The CW’s 90210. The master chef, who has previously made guest appearances on Las Vegas, Frasier and The Simpsons, will appear on an episode set to air in February. He will judge a food truck contest organized by Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord). [Huffington Post]

ABC’s Nashville is giving fans more Peggy Samper. Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who joined the show in a guest role, will now also appear on three episodes of the show’s last nine episodes. She’ll also have the option of becoming a series regular if the show gets a second season. ABC recently picked up Nashville for a full season. [Deadline]

Sunday’s ratings were once again ruled by football. NBC’s Sunday Night Football game which featured the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers helped the network nab the No. 1 spot with an average of 15.3 million viewers. FOX’s Sunday night Animation Domination also got a boost from the runover of NFL games on the channel. Meanwhile, ABC’s Once Upon a Time saw improved ratings with 8.8 million viewers. [Zap2it]

Bravo is launching Play Live, a 360 live on-screen experience, which allows the network’s viewers to interact with its programming. Fans will be able to play along and vote on what’s hot or not with on-air content using their mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers by visiting bravotv.com/playlive or by downloading the Bravo Now app. The experience will debut with Monday’s Watch What Happens Live, which airs at 11 PM. The third season of BBC’s Sherlock may not air until late 2013 or 2014 now that the production of the drama has been pushed back to March. The show, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, was originally slated to return to production in January. Sources now say that the BBC will air the show in late 2013. With PBS required to wait until after the BBC airs Season 3, it’s possible that the show may not see the airwaves stateside on PBS until 2014. [EW]

Syfy and BBC One’s Merlin is set to end after Season 5. Co-creators and executive producers Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy have said the series is ending at its natural point. The duo will also be leaving Shine TV, the production company behind Merlin, at the end of the year to start their own company. Merlin’s finale will air on BBC One around Christmas in the UK and on Syfy on Jan. 4 in the US. The possibility of a spin-off is being explored. [TVLine]
