Watch out, moviegoers: four Academy Award winners are going to “party like it’s 1959” on the big screen this fall.

On Thursday, CBS Films and Good Universe unveiled the first trailer for Last Vegas, a comedy starring Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro and Kevin Kline. No, they’re not playing older versions of Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and their friends from The Hangover franchise, but the premise is familiar.

Someone’s getting married (Douglas). He calls up his buddies to go to Las Vegas to “get in trouble.” They party with bikini-clad ladies, drink a lot and attempt to dance.

Directed by Jon Turteltaub (who last brought us The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and the National Treasure films), Last Vegas opens Nov. 1.

HBO on Monday debuted the official trailer for Behind the Candelabra, the much-anticipated Liberace biopic from Steven Soderbergh.

The nearly two-minute preview shows a lot of things that will have the celebrity news programs giggling tonight: lots of lovey-dovey scenes between stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon (even though the trailer never actually shows them kissing; thanks, HBO!); lots of hair; and a whole lot of sequin.

But once you get past all that (it is, after all, 2013), the preview suggests that the movie, about Liberace’s tumultuous relationship with his much-younger boyfriend, Scott Thorson, is actually going to be pretty serious — the same approach Soderbergh took to the world of male stripping in last year’s Magic Mike.

It’ll cost a pretty penny to rent out Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ beautiful Bermuda property.

The home, which sits on three acres, is available for rent for a staggering $28,000 per month.

Situated in the elite neighborhood of Warick Parish, the home features views of the Atlantic Ocean and over 7,000-square-feet of living space.

The house comes with a guest quarters as well as four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms.

In 2002, Architectural Digest highlighted the expansive grounds and praised the island retreat for its English countryside décor.

With a home gym, sauna, extra-large climate-controlled closets, herb garden and tennis court, the home is more like a five-star resort.

Steve Martin may be the age of most grandfathers, but he is a father for the first time at 67 years old.

The Shopgirl star welcomed a child with his wife, Anne Stringfield, last December, reports the New York Post.

Martin is reportedly living out his Parenthood days with his writer ladylove and newborn baby in Los Angeles and “has been very private,” according to the mag.

However, he’s not the only Hollywood veteran to become a parent later in life.

Die Hard star Bruce Willis became a father for the fourth when he welcomed daughter Mabel at age 57. The actor told the Daily Mirror that his ten-month-old makes him “very happy,” adding that “it’s just very exciting.”

Other leading men who’ve welcomed children in their fifties include Kevin Costner, Mel Gibson and Michael Douglas.

All the actors have found a renewed sense of youth with their tiny tots and continue to be doting dads well into their sixties.

Matt Damon locks lips with Michael Douglas in the upcoming HBO biopic Behind the Candelabra, about Liberace and his lover, Scott Thorson. Remarkably, however, it wasn’t Douglas who was fantasizing about his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, while the two shared their kiss, but Damon.

“When Matt Damon was kissing Michael, I found [out] — which is very flattering for me — [Matt] closed his eyes and pretended he was kissing me,” Zeta-Jones told Celebuzz while promoting her new movie, Side Effects. “I just thought that was one of the biggest compliments I’ve ever had!”

“If my husband’s going to kiss anyone else in the world, I’m so happy it’s Matt Damon,” she added with a laugh.

Opening Friday, Side Effects — which tells the story of a doctor (Jude Law) whose life falls into shambles after he prescribes a drug to a woman (Rooney Mara) battling depression — reteamed Zeta-Jones with director Steven Soderbergh for the third time (after Traffic and Ocean’s Eleven, respectively), which was something she couldn’t wait to experience.

“He rubbed my feet when I was pregnant on Traffic and that’s the only reason why I keep coming back,” she joked about the Oscar-winning filmmaker. “He looked after a pregnant woman so well, I just knew I’d always be in good hands.”

The film, in which she plays Dr. Victoria Siebert, also allowed her to do a little same-sex kissing of her own, with co-star Rooney Mara.

“I just wish she were prettier, that’s the only thing,” Zeta-Jones quipped. “She’s not funny, she’s not pretty, she can’t act.”

Liberace was over the top and his flamboyance on and offstage was probably years before its time. But, the producers and the cast of HBO’s Behind the Candelabra, a biopic about the legendary pianist, not only wanted to portray that spectacle but also the man and his six-year romance with the younger Scott Thorson.

“It felt like this was a relationship between a man and a woman,” says star Matt Damon, who plays Thorson in the TV movie, at Friday’s Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, Calif.

“You’d feel at moments like ‘This is too intimate, maybe I shouldn’t be here,’” Damon, 42, continues. “But, it’s between a man and a man, and I’ve never seen that movie before. And so it was fun, but we weren’t giggling about it. We took it very seriously.”

Executive produced by Jerry Weintraub (Ocean’s Eleven, The Karate Kid) and directed by Steven Soderbergh (Magic Mike, Erin Brockovich), Behind the Candelabra is based on Thorson’s book of the same title. It covers the secretive relationship between the author and Liberace, played by Michael Douglas, which didn’t end on good terms.

“You’ll find that his whole life is portrayed in the film,” Weintraub explains. “You’ll see everything about Liberace that you could possibly want to see.”

The film goes to great lengths to portray the performer’s life: Shot in Liberace’s Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Las Vegas stomping grounds; constructing 30 different sets; and designing more than 60 costume changes for Douglas and Damon.

“It’s basically a repetition process of looking at a lot of stuff and finding that balance between knowing you’re not an impersonator,” Douglas says of getting into character. “You’re not going to ever be exactly like Liberace and trying to find the balance that makes you comfortable, makes Steven secure, and makes myself attractive to Matt.”

“[Douglas was] very, very attractive,” the Good Will Hunting actor, who goes nude for the role, smiles.

Behind the Candelabra will debut at the Cannes Film Festival before airing on HBO in May.

Matt Damon is getting nude for his role as the lover of flamboyant pianist Wladziu Valentino Liberace – known simply as Liberace — in the HBO movie Behind the Candelabra.

“Normally I’d say no to nudity,” 42-year-old Damon tells Playboy in its January/February issue, on newsstands Dec. 18.

“I mean, it’s tastefully done. Steven Soderbergh directed it and Michael Douglas plays Liberace. But this movie’s not going to be for everyone.”

In the film, due for release next year, Damon plays Liberace’s much-younger lover Scott Thorson – who exposed his life with Lee in a tell-all book and also sued for $113 million in palimony.

The film is so risque that the Oscar winner even shares a romantic, on-screen kiss with Michael Douglas.

“Michael was a wonderful kisser,” jokes Damon.

“For one scene, I had to come out of the pool, go over to Michael Douglas, straddle him on a chaise lounge and start kissing him. It’s not like I kiss him just once. We drew it up like a football plan.”

Damon — who is also co-writing and starring in Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land, in theaters January 4 — opened up to the magazine about his private life, including why he is ”sh*tty” at spicing up his relationship with wife, Luciana.

On the roles he most regrets having to pass up: “Having to say no to Avatar was tough because I particularly wanted to work with James Cameron … I remember thinking, Oh God, not only do I have to say no because of scheduling, but he’s going to make a star out of some guy who’s going to start taking jobs from me later … Milk was another hard one because I was excited it would have been for Gus Van Sant, and I would have had the chance to do scenes with Sean Penn … But when I saw Milk, Josh Brolin was so f*cking good.”

On his image in the media: “The narrative about me kind of goes, ‘He’s a boring married guy,’ which is great, because I don’t get any of that other stuff like Brad Pitt and George Clooney do … People think I’m kind of vanilla and they leave me alone to work, have an actual private life and be a husband and dad.”

On beginning to look his age (42 years old): “I remember having dinner with Tommy Lee Jones 20 years ago. I was looking at his face and thinking, Sh*t, I can’t wait to have lines like that. A guy like that can just sit there and be so expressive. I mean he’s also one of the best actors ever, but I remember being in a hurry to get some of those lines. I’m getting more lines every day.”
On the Bourne legacy coming to an end: “You know what? They might have taken the Bourne series out back and shot it in the head. If that’s the end of it, that’s just the end of it. I hope not. I love the character and the three movies we did, so I’d love to figure out a way to do another one.

On learning new things that he’s frightened of on set: “I learned that I am afraid of heights. When I was doing Syriana, they arranged for my wife, Lucy, and me to go up to watch the sunset over the Arabian Peninsula from the top of that seven-star Dubai hotel that’s shaped like a sail, the Burj Al Arab. So we go to the very top–-60 stories or something—we’re given champagne, and we go, ‘Oh! My God, this is great.” But as I started to walk toward the edge, my legs locked up. I was absolutely frozen. [Lucy] thought it was hysterical.”

On his workout routine: “I don’t have much time between work, parenting and other pursuits I’m involved in, but I lift weights. If somebody’s around to box with, I can hit the focus pads, but I haven’t done that in a while. I used to jog a lot, but now I’ll do maybe one long run a week, or I’ll do sprints.”

On being a man in an otherwise all-girl family:“Lucy and the girls can definitely bring me to my knees. They just know. My wife gives me sh*t because it’s harder for me to discipline my girls, probably because they’re girls. With boys, I could relate more and it would probably be easier. Growing up, girls are so mysterious to us. Even as a grown man, they remain mysterious.”

On growing up with a hot temper: “I would throw blazing temper tantrums as a kid—my parents worried about me. I remember being so angry that I saw red, and no amount of encouragement, love or hugging would get me out of that … there’s a great thing that comes along with being stubborn and obsessive, which is a passion for life. Things matter to you.”

On spicing up his marriage with romantic gestures: “I’m sh*tty at that. I wish I were better because my wife deserves somebody who surprises her with a gift or flowers or some wonderful idea. I’ve never been good at that, and she’s really good at it, which makes me feel even more like sh*t.”

On his legacy: “When I turned 40 I had my whole family and some friends together. I realized I had to make a toast and hadn’t thought of anything to say. I stood up, and what came to me seemed incredibly true in the moment and even more so as time has gone by. I said, ‘I think I might actually be the luckiest guy on earth. I really might be him.’”

From blockbusters to indies, which movies are worth watching on home video?

The Avengers (Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: Joss Whedon’s epic adaptation of the superhero team-up series comes to home video in 2- and 3D versions, along with a bounty of bonus materials.

Picture Perfect? Almost, but not quite. The high-definition picture quality is mildly undermined by a consistent dimness that seems deliberate but is occasionally distracting, especially when you want to admire the otherwise terrific action and effects work.

What Else Is There? Although the “Item 47” short is a silly, fun lark, Whedon’s commentary track offers predictably dry, witty observations that actually enhance audience enjoyment and understanding of the construction of the film.

How Badly Do I Want It? If you’re one of the bajillion people who saw it in theaters – probably more than once – the answer is most likely pretty badly. It certainly lives up to the original theatrical experience.

Cinderella (Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: Disney’s classic fairy tale comes to Blu-ray in a deluxe new edition.

Picture Perfect? As always, Disney brings their classic to HD with such a stunning transfer that it seems inevitable to become a reference disc. Not only are there no flaws, there’s virtually no evidence of restoration work, making this an immaculate viewing experience.

What Else Is There? A handful of new, HD extras augment an expansive spate of bonus material from a 2008 SD edition, making this not just the most comprehensive to date, but perhaps the definitive version of this film’s home video journey.

How Badly Do I Want It? Although this particular Disney film isn’t one of our personal favorites, it’s such a beautiful set that it would be a shame not to add it to the others in your collection.
The Game (Criterion)

The One-Liner: David Fincher’s most underrated film comes to Blu-ray, a thriller about a cushy businessman (Michael Douglas) who receives a gift from his brother (Sean Penn) that turns his life upside down.

Picture Perfect? As with all of their releases, Criterion spared no effort in making this look as stunning as possible, creating a director and cinematographer-approved transfer that features strong contrasts and remarkable clarity.

What Else Is There? A commentary track and a handful of featurettes that previously appeared on the laserdisc release of the film appear here, as well as a few new items that further explore not just the making but the marketing of Fincher’s follow-up to Seven.

How Badly Do I Want It? As one of our all-time favorite movies, this is a must-own for us, but in general it’s a great movie that deserves renewed attention and appreciation.

The Princess Bride (Fox Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: Rob Reiner’s wonderful, romantic fantasy comes to Blu-ray in a new 25^th Anniversary Edition.

Picture Perfect? As with previous versions, the transfer is solid and effective, offering a clean and vibrant picture for fans to enjoy.

What Else Is There? In addition to the extras on all 400 previous versions of this film’s home-video release, there’s a new featurette entitled “True Love: The Princess Bride Phenomenon,” which collects comments and observations from various members of the cast and crew as they recall their experiences making the film.

How Badly Do I Want It? If you don’t have the film on Blu-ray already this is probably a must-own, but there’s not enough new content to warrant throwing out old ones.

Sound of My Voice (Fox Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: In a truly auspicious debut as star and co-writer, Brit Marling delivers a knockout performance as a cult leader who may or may not be more than what she seems. This odd little drama conjures lots of interesting questions and keeps audiences guessing right until the end.

Picture Perfect? An extremely well-shot film, director Zal Batmanglij’s film looks good on home video thanks to a solid transfer that preserves his Spartan compositions and rich but often neutral colors.

What Else Is There? Two making-of featurettes expand the palette of the film and explore its intricacies, but this is a film that not only deserves, but demands more.

How Badly Do I Want It? An odd but truly special little film, this is absolutely worth renting but you might want to watch it once before deciding whether or not to own it.

The men are taking center stage, or front row to be more specific, at this season’s New York Fashion Week.

The Spring 2013 shows have been watched by some of the world’s most stylish — and sexy — men including Kanye West, 35, Ryan Lochte, 28, and even Jennifer Aniston’s fiance, Justin Theroux, 41.

West made sure to tag along with girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, 31, to the Marchesa and Louise Goldin’s shows. His all-denim look was versatile to wear to both runway presentations.

What other men made cameos at New York Fashion Week?

Theroux didn’t have his leading lady by his side for the Alexander Wang show, but the actor’s biker outfit was perfect for the designer’s famously urban and edgy designs.

Michael Douglas, 67, shined in the front row of the Michael Kors Spring 2013 show next to wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, 42. The two posed for the cameras right before viewing Kors’ collection and both looked better than ever.

Douglas was his usual dashing self in a grey cashmere turtleneck, while Zeta-Jones wowed everyone in a brown wrap dress.

Nick Cannon, 31, took a break from caring for his twins with wife Mariah Carey, 42, to take in the Richard Chai Love spring collection — and looked very impressed with Chai’s feminine designs.

Olympians Lochte and Conor Dwyer, 23, made the rounds at Fashion Week and suited up for Ralph Lauren’s show. The two swimmers nabbed seats in one of the most coveted tents and rubbed elbows with fashionistas and editors.

Now that’s a hookup we never expected to see.

Matt Damon and Michael Douglas are playing gay lovers in HBO’s Liberace film, Behind the Candelabra, and new photos of the pair dressed in ’70s attire make them look like a retro-styled couple.

Sporting a feathered wig, pastel shirt and polyester trousers on the Beverly Hills set, 41-year-old Damon looked a far cry from his days as Jason Bourne; he plays Liberace’s lover, Scott Thorson.

And what about Douglas?

The Oscar winner, 67, looked the spitting image of the flamboyant piano player – who became a Las Vegas legend – wearing dark glasses, a yellow suit and a patterned shirt.

During filming, the two re-enacted the early days of Liberace and Thorson’s romance, which started when the latter was just 17. The film is based on Thorson’s book Behind the Candelabra: My Life With Liberace and takes a look into the couple’s five-year relationship, which Thorson says ended due to the musician’s sexual promiscuity and drug addiction.

Douglas’ wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, 42, recently opened up about catching her husband cross-dressing to get into his new role.

“Michael has been in the bedroom and started putting on my diamonds and things,” she told Extra. “I’m like, ‘Michael, please take off those pants. Take ‘em off baby. Come on, give me back my rocks.”

She later admitted she was only joking about his bizarre bedroom antics, saying: “I’m kidding. He wishes he could wear my underwear. If only he could fit in them.”

Real-life lovebirds Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan had a red carpet date night Monday at the New York premiere of their upcoming mega-sequel, Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.

The film’s star, Michael Douglas, who is battling throat cancer, also stepped out for the premiere but did not stop for interviews with the press.

Michael Douglas may regret signing on for Oliver Stone’s ‘Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps’ now that his ex-wife claims she’s owed half of everything the film nets the Oscar-winning actor.

With some help from tearful letters from the Douglas family pleading for leniency, Cameron Douglas, Michael Douglas‘ first-born child, was sentenced today to five years in federal prison for his involvement in a narcotics-trafficking operation.  Prior to personal pleas from Michael and his first wife and Cameron’s mother, Diandra Douglas, Cameron had been expected to receive up to ten years in prison.

Cameron Douglas has had a long track of battling addiction to heroin and other drugs throughout his adult life.

As far as film work, Cameron is perhaps best known for his work in the movie, It Runs in the Family, where he starred alongside his father, Michael, and grandfather, Kirk Douglas.

It’s another day for Shia LaBeouf on the set of Wall Street 2 in NYC!

Today, the Transformers stud was seeing filming scenes with veteran actor Michael Douglas at Central Park’s Zoo in Manhattan.

The actors snacked on hot dogs, soft pretezels and popcorn and were even seen laughing! Must be fun!

It looks like Shia LaBeouf really may be able to conquer Hollywood single-handedly.

In addition to the ongoing, hugely successful Transformers franchise and his upcoming role in the John Grisham adaptation The Associate, EW.com reports that he’s in talks to play a young stockbroker in the sequel to the 1987 classic Wall Street.

The sequel will feature Michael Douglas reprising his role as corporate raider Gordon Gekko and pick up 20 years after the first movie left off. A cinematic time capsule of the go-go ’80s, Wall Street captured the avaricious excess of the country’s financial system at the time.

And judging from recent activities among America’s financial bigwigs, the more things change, the more things stay the same.
