Breaking up is hard to do — even when you’re a celebrity.

There were plenty of broken hearts this week, with Michelle Williams unexpectedly ending things with Jason Segel reportedly due to their long-distance romance, and Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen parting ways nearly two years after acknowledging their relationship in 2011.

But heartache didn’t conquer everyone in Hollywood. While accepting the Best Picture prize at this year’s Oscars, Ben Affleck candidly addressed questions about his eight-year marriage to the love of his life, Jennifer Garner. And although they split before the awards season, it looks like Jennifer Lawrence has remained on good terms with her ex Nicholas Hoult, who sung his former girlfriend’s praises following her Best Actress win.

The former couple quietly split after a year of dating, primarily because of the long-distance between them — Williams lived in New York City while Segel worked in California. Williams and Segel were introduced by the Oscar-nominated actress’ BFF (and the actor’s former Freaks and Geeks costar), Busy Phillips.

Dembo‘s opinion: What can couples do when they find themselves living far apart?
Rituals are very important in long distance relationships. Find a time every night to talk. Find weekends each month to visit. Touch base the same time each day via text or email while at work. When you miss someone, but you can count on hearing from them or seeing them, it makes the distance easier.

Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner

In the midst of the excitement of winning an Academy Award, winners can often slip-up, forgetting to mention their loved one in their acceptance speech. Luckily, Affleck didn’t falter when he took home the Best Picture prize for Argo at this year’s ceremony. In fact, the actor-director candidly spoke out about his nearly eight-year union with his wife, admitting they’ve been “working on their marriage for 10 Christmases.” The line led many to speculate trouble in their relationship, which Affleck has since denied.

Dembo’s opinion: Ben Affleck looked at his wife, Jennifer Garner during his Oscar speech and made mention of the 10 years of working on their marriage. Of course, each one of us were wondering if there was “trouble” in the Affleck/Garner household. In many ways making reference to his efforts in his marriage didn’t quite fit the moment, however, in a raw, very real moment, we saw a glimpse of a very real couple. The fame, fortune and all the real issues that couples face in marriage today speak to the celebration Ben was feeling about his marriage and like the hard work of making a wonderful film, there is wonderful work happening for Ben and Jennifer to live the life they are living. Good for them.

Although they amicably split before the Oscars, there was no love lost between the Best Actress winnerand her former beau since their January breakup. After her successful run during the 2013 awards season, Hoult even complimented his one-time lady love on her rise as Hollywood’s current “It” girl.
“I’m very, very happy for her,” the Warm Bodies actor told E! News. ”I’m thrilled!”

Dembo’s opinion: So, the question is…Can couples truly remain friends after a break up?
And the answer is…depends on how you define “being a friend”. It is rare when a couple can split up and remain active friends that socialize together, continue staying in communication on a regular basis, especially as one or both move on and find new relationships to engage in. The truth is when people say we are “still friends” they actually mean that they have nothing negative to say about their ex. That they wish them well and hope good things for them. But what they don’t say is that they may be very happy to be away from that person and they secretly wish you didn’t bring up their name at all. Now…that’s much more common!

After meeting on the set of 2010′s Midnight in Paris, the couple have successfully maintained a low-key profile since acknowledging their romance a year later. Flash forward to 2013: McAdams and Sheen decided to part ways, although sources close to the couple claim the split is “not permanent.”

Dembo’s opinion:The advantage of taking a break vs. breaking up is that the intention is to find a way back to one another, if at all possible. The problem for many couples taking a break, is that they don’t establish rules and boundaries. Rules and boundaries allow for the couple to trust that each is spending the time in reflection, being alone, and acting responsibly. If there are no rules to the taking a break period, either individual could get caught up in their new found single hood and behave in a way that damages further the possibility for coming back together.

2013 has not been a good year for love in Hollywood.

One day after it was reported that Michelle Williams and Jason Segel had split, Rachel McAdams is a single lady again.

According to Us Weekly, the 34-year-old actress broke things off with her Midnight in Paris co-star and beau of more than two years Michael Sheen.

Just last week, Diane Lane and Josh Brolin made their split official by filing for divorce after nearly a decade together.

“He’s great . . . you know, everything is mutual. It’s all okay,” Brolin’s father James told PEOPLE this week.

Which is why Michael Sheen’s over-the-top turn as Aro in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 stands side by side with Phoenix and DiCaprio’s work: the gifted English actor gave such a flourish to his role that it stood out even more.

Even though the final Twilight film has arrived, that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Bella and Edward.

With Breaking Dawn — Part 2 grossing $341 million in its worldwide debut, it’s only a matter of time before Summit finds a way to continue their billion-dollar franchise.

But what form will it take – A new film series? A TV spin-off? Both? Celebuzz weighs in…

The world of Twilight has plenty of characters and drama to mine for another series of films or television show.

The trick is knowing which characters are worth hinging the franchise’s future on. Here are 5 possible story directions – in both the TV and film space – that Celebuzz would like to see Twilight take on.

As the films in the Twilight series have steadily improved in quality since the 2008 original, it’s not only appropriate but completely gratifying that Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is by far the best yet.

After the plodding fan service of Breaking Dawn – Part 1, which turned 10 minutes of story into a two-hour tribute to Bella and Edward’s relationship, Part 2 moves (comparatively) briskly towards a sweeping climax that not only brings the franchise full circle but delivers a rousing adventure that should appeal even to non-fans.

Picking up immediately after the events of Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Bella (Kristen Stewart) was transformed into a vampire in order to save her life during childbirth. Equipped with superhuman strength and speed that exceeds even that of the Cullens, Bella tries to get her new abilities under control, even as she embarks on motherhood with newborn Renesmee.

Much to Bella and Edward’s (Robert Pattinson) dismay, Jacob (Taylor Lautner) imprinted on Renesmee — he formed an indelible bond with the child — and vows to protect her at any cost. But when Renesmee is mistaken for a deadly immortal child, the newlyweds are forced to enlist him — and anyone else they can find — to stop Aro (Michael Sheen) from sentencing her and the Cullens to death for harboring what they believe is the most dangerous creature in the vampires’ world.

As a single-serving film and a finale for the series, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 fully satisfies. Compared to its predecessor, which languished in the minutiae of Bella and Edward’s wedding and, of course, consummating that marriage, it’s a gauntlet of activity, throttling through the set-up of the Volturi’s vendetta against the Cullens and wrapping up with a truly epic battle, and one made even more spectacular because it’s absolutely violent as hell.

Moreover, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg and director Bill Condon stage a confrontation that manages to have real emotional stakes. As rousing as is the proposition of literally ripping people’s heads off — which happens a lot – the emotional dimensions of each triumph or tragedy are always accurately pinpointed and maximized. And especially fans will find themselves on a roller coaster of surprise and shock as the fates are determined for characters they both love and hate.

Even as the ensemble cast seems to quadruple in size — if only to provide more background action in the final fight — Pattinson, Stewart, and Lautner do their best work of the series, as if seeming to save their effort in order to leave the best impression upon their fans, not to mention the annals of cinema.

That said, Lautner still struggles to differentiate between the petty sniping of adolescence and a more mature, well-intentioned sarcasm. But Stewart embraces Bella’s sense of empowerment as if it’s her own, and Pattinson wisely steps out of the way to allow his co-star the full berth of a transformation that will completely thrill fans as much as it (partially) redeems her character to critics.

While I won’t spoil any of its surprises, the final act of this film ranks among the most surprising and satisfying of 2012, and that’s no small feat. Further, Condon has really pulled off something with this final installment that seemed previously impossible — namely, making a real movie, or the closest thing to it, not just a Twilight movie.

Ultimately, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is richly rewarding — a thrill ride that will resonate with fans, and remarkably, connect even with non-fans — and it leaves behind a legacy that deserves to be remembered by both.

Indeed, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Jackson Rathbone and more ditched the boring ol’ suit route for looks with color and flair.

Michael Sheen has the last laugh, so to speak, when his villainous character Aro lets out a maniacal guffaw in Breaking Dawn – Part II.

So, how did he develop it?

“It comes out of building up your imaginative connection to the character,” Sheen, age, explained to Celebuzz while promoting the movie. “The more I feel the character, the more time I think about the character, the more time I’ve spent as the character, the more I got the sense of someone who is very split. On the surface, he’s very controlled and he has this quiet, gentle voice, and everything seems very fine. There’s not threat. Very gentle.”

“But underneath is this absolute dark craziness,” he continued. “So I loved the idea of finding something that would stay with people — that would be quite shocking but would give a sense of his true voice.”

“In New Moon, I remember there was a scene where I just laughed and it kind of came out in this extraordinary way,” Sheen — who is dating actress Rachel McAdams — recalled. “And I thought, ‘Yeah, that’s exactly right.’ So it was an instinctive choice. It wasn’t random; it came out of what I was thinking about.”

“It shows that there’s something out of control in Aro,” he added. “And you always sense that there’s something dangerous and unpredictable in there, and that what he shows to the world is not really his true self.”

“It was a good way to get that out. And it’s kind of fun and something that people will remember.”

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part II, which will see the long-awaited battle between Aro’s Volutri family and the Cullens, hits theaters on Nov. 16.

Jolie recently penned the forward to Thornton’s book, The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts, where she explains that he “has a big beautiful heart.” Thornton, 57, has also had nothing but kind words for the mother of six and told ABC’s Nightline that they remain “good friends.”

David Arquette, 41, and Courteney Cox, 48, have been very candid about their mutual adoration for one another despite their ongoing marital issues. She dished to Jimmy Kimmel that even though the two are now legally separated, she and Arquette are “best friends.” The two also agree that their biggest priority is their daughter, Coco.

Rachel McAdams and her beau Michael Sheen were spotted in Toronto taking a romantic bike ride through Queen’s Park. The couple, who met after filming Woody Allen‘s Midnight in Paris, have been enjoying a bit of a summer vacation in Canada over the last few weeks.

It looks like the vacation in Canada has been a bit of killing two birds with one stone for Twilight star Michael!

Michael’s has been in Toronto so he can spend time with his 10-year-old daughter Lily while his ex, Kate Beckinsale, is busy filming the Total Recall remake with Colin Farrell. And since Rachel is a Canadian native, it works out for every one!

His first piece of fan fiction read:

It may seem like an unlikely couple, but People reports that Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen are an item.

The 33-year-old Mean Girls actress was reportedly spotted out and about with the 41-year-old Frost/Nixon star at an afterparty at the Toronto Film Festival.

Later, the couple were photographed holding hands while hanging around the Canadian city.

While the two may have been spotted hanging out, there could be another, wholly unromantic reason behind their friendship: The two are co-stars in the upcoming Midnight in Paris.

Rachel has previously dated such hunks as Ryan Gosling and Michael was once married to the lovely Kate Beckinsale.

Aside from Midnight in Paris, Michael is slated to revive his character of Aro in the upcoming Breaking Dawn. Tina Fey fans may remember Michael for his recent guest apperance as Liz Lemon’s grating “settling soulmate” Wesley Snipes on 30 Rock.

Rachel and Michael’s reps were not available for comment.

Funny lady Tina Fey filmed some smooch scenes for her hit show 30 Rock out on the streets of New York with acclaimed British actor Michael Sheen. However, by the looks of it, Fey (or, rather, her character on the show, Liz Lemon) isn’t exactly enjoying sharing kisses with a Brit. Could it be his bright blue bicycle helmet that is killing the mood? Interestingly enough, Fey’s facial expression is bringing back memories of our first kiss–or rather the pained look our kissing partner had when we went in for a smooch.
