It looks like red is making a comeback when it comes to celebrity hair color!

Actress Michelle Monaghan is the latest to join actresses Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively, among others, in the returning hair trend. She was recently spotted at the Toronto International Film Festival sporting the new ‘do, and we must say that we can’t complain about it.

Monaghan was at TIFF to support her next film, Machine Gun Preacher, which she stars in alongside Gerard Butler. The action-filled flick, out November 18, tells the story of Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing biker tough guy who found God and became a crusader for hundreds of Sudanese children who’ve been forced to become soldiers.

Just days after Reese Witherspoon wed Jim Toth, her ex Jake Gyllenhaal was all smiles at his premiere for Source Code in Los Angeles.

Jake, who looked dashing in a grey suit, was in a friendly mood happily talking with some lucky fans and the many reporters on hand at the Arclight Cinerama Dome. Why can’t all celebs be so nice?

Flashing his signature grin, Gyllenhaal played it up for the cameras with costar Michelle Monaghan, putting his arms and hands tight around her waist. But was he able to get his flirt on at the after-party with any available ladies?

Nope, seems like the bachelor is all business right now.

At the after-party at Boulevard 3 in Hollywood, insiders tell Celebuzz Jake held court at a middle table inside and was seen talking with mostly studio types. A few other celebs in attendance at the bash aside from Jake’s Source Code costars included Mark Sanchez and Shameless star Cameron Monaghan.

“Jake was so nice, he talked to everybody who came up to him telling him congratulations,” the partygoer tells us. “He was overheard saying he was really proud of this film in particular and was excited that it was being well received so far.”

Glad Jake is in such good spirits despite Reese’s wedding!

While Witherspoon was exchanging nuptials this past weekend, Jake was spotted Saturday partying and bowling with guy friends at new hotspot Spare Room with Adam Levine.

Everybody and their mother came out to the premiere of Star Trek on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Held at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California, the red carpet was filled with beautiful people, including the film’s hot studs, Zachary Quinto (on the arm of Winona Ryder!!!) and Chris Pine.

Other stars who showed up to see the sexed-up version of the classic film include supermodel Heidi Klum, Eric Bana, Hayden Panettiere, a newly blonde Leighton Meester, Peter Facinelli, Michelle Monaghan, Neil Patrick Harris, Sophia Bush, Amanda Bynes, Nicollette Sheridan, Tori Spelling, Kristin Cavallari and Kendra Wilkinson.

Michelle Monaghan, what happened?

The Eagle Eye actress and new mom turned up to a Vogue and BWM celebration in New York City last night, where the German auto makers unveiled their new 7 Series model.

While a beamer may be aesthetically pleasing, we were overjoyed with Michelle’s mod metallic cocktail dress, simple pumps and smoky eyes.

An unpleasant exchange occured, however, when Monoghan decided to switch ensembles en route to amFAR’s gala to kick off New York’s Fall Fashion Week.

The star changed into a dizzying Louis Vuitton dress, with intense left-side detail and busy Vuitton pumps.

It wasn’t broke, Monaghan. What possesed you to “fix” it?

We get a stab at being fashion forward, but with your gal-next-door look an aspirational outfit will always be a sophisticated one. Leave avant garde to the pro’s or, at very least, the spokespeople.

The 61st annual Directors Guild of America Awards were held Saturday night in Los Angeles at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, and Slumdog Millionaire came out on top in the cinema category.

Danny Boyle‘s romance flick—which is set against the backdrop of an all-or-nothing Indian game show—won him Best Director at the DGAs, beating out the auteurs behind Milk, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Dark Knight.

Most of whom Boyle will face at the Oscars on February 22 in the Best Director category. Slumdog is nominated in ten categories.

Yahoo! reports that there have only been six times in Oscar history since 1948 when the DGA winner for Best Director hasn’t gone on to Oscar gold. However, three of those instances have occurred since 1995. Keep your fingers crossed, Dan.

Of course, even if Slumdog should fail to win big at the Oscars, Boyle and company have already done pretty well for themselves. The film has won several awards, including four Golden Globes, five Critics’ Circle Awards, and a National Board of Review award.

The Office, The Wire, Recount and America’s Next Top Model took home awards for television direction.

On-camera faces who showed up for the awards ceremony included Slumdog stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, Benjamin Button‘s Taraji P. Henson, Amy Adams, Claire Danes, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Brolin, Marisa Tomei, and Doubt‘s Viola Davis.

Shia LaBeouf‘s a lucky guy—in more ways than one.

The actor’s new thriller Eagle Eye had its premiere at Mann’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles last night, and the event was given an extra boost by the appearance of his Transformers co-star and aspiring ox-strangler Megan Fox.

The white-hot brunette’s presence was so formidable, in fact, that it threatened to eclipse the film’s female stars, Michelle Monaghan and Rosario Dawson.

LaBeouf deserves a big hand for harnessing his pal’s star power in service of his latest project. No doubt this will help to make Eagle Eye a smash-hit—and not the kind that LaBeouf’s been used to lately.
