John Barrowman, who plays Captain Jack from Torchwood, will be popping up on The CW’s new fall comic book show, Arrow. He’ll play a mysterious “well dressed man” who is an acquaintance of the Queen family. Arrow premieres on Wednesday, October 10.  [EW]

Which Saturday Night Live star is leaving the show now?

Abby Elliot, daughter of Chris Elliot, who is known for her Zooey Deschanel and Angelina Jolie impressions is leaving Saturday Night Live after just 4 seasons. She is the third cast member vacating their role this season including Kristen Wigg and Andy Samberg. [Splitsider]

Michael J. Fox is headed back to TV… Well, hopefully! The star is reported to be shopping around a new single-camera comedy with director Will Gluck of Easy A and writer Sam Layboure of Arrested Development. The project is being developed by Sony Pictures Television and is based upon the star’s life. All four broadcast networks are said to be interested. [Vulture]

On Tuesday, The Mindy Project cast Tommy Dewey as Mindy Kaling’s love interest and on Wednesday we’ve learned that a few NBA stars will be making guest appearances on the new FOX comedy as well. New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire, free agent guard Baron Davis, and Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger will be playing themselves on an episode where Mindy finds herself in the VIP section of a club with them. Bob Odenkirk is back on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother. Reprising his role as Arthur Hobbs, Marshall’s (Jason Segel) former Goliath National Bank boss, he will represent Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) in his pre-nup negotiations with Quinn (Becki Newton). Odenkirk can currently be seen as Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad. [TVLine]

With the departure of Kristin Chenoweth from The Good Wife due to injury, another reporter type is needed for the show. Miriam Shor, most recently seen on the cancelled ABC show, GCB, will fill the role. She will play a journalist with a national news background. [TVLine]

Nickelodeon announced on Wednesday that it will be launching a new primetime comedy block call NickMom on Oct. 1. At the same time, it’s relaunching NickMom.com. NickMom, which hopes to give mothers a chance to unwind and LOL, will air original programming on Nick Jr. from 10 PM — 2 AM. [Nickelodeon]

Ron Artest is so excited about his Lakers’ victory in last week’s NBA Finals, it makes him want to sing. Or something approaching singing.

As Los Angeles prepared for its victory parade downtown today, the Lakers forward released the video for his song “Champions,” a celebratory tune that will no doubt become a theme song for the City of Angels, right up there with Randy Newman‘s 1983 chestnut “I Love L.A.”

Oh say can you see, Kris Allen singing the national anthem?

Yes, you can—but you’ll have to wait until Sunday.

Us Magazine reports that American Idol winner Allen will belt out “The Star-Spangled Banner” during Game 2 of the NBA finals tomorrow, when the Los Angeles Lakers face off once again against the Orlando Magic.

Allen follows such AI alum as Taylor Hicks, Kelly Clarkson, Rubben Studdard, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks and David Cook in singing the national anthem at NBA championship games.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals will air at 8 p.m. Eastern time on ABC on Sunday.

The Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles boasted even more star power than usual on Thursday night, as show biz’s finest came out in force to cheer on the Los Angeles Lakers during the first night of the NBA Finals.

Hills defector Lauren Conrad and her boyfriend, My Boys actor Kyle Howard, were on hand for the showdown between the Lakers and the Orlando Magic, as were rapper Kanye West, Jessica Simpson and her Dallas Cowboys beau Tony Romo, ardent Lakers supporter Leonardo DiCaprio, One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush and Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden.

In the end it seems that the A-List supporters gave their home team a big boost; the Lakers whooped the Magic 100-75.

After watching her beloved San Antonio Spurs squeezed out of the NBA Playoffs, Eva Longoria and her hubby, Spurs point guard Tony Parker, left the country for a vacation in their beloved Paris.

But Tony will need to go farther than across the Atlantic to escape the round ball.

Is it fandom or family obligation that has dragged him to catch the Ligue Nationale de Basketball Pro A Championship Finals?

Parker’s brother T.J. plays for Stade Lorrain Université Club Nancy (SLUC Nancy), proving that B-ball clearly runs in the Parker family.

T.J.’s team was battling Chorale Roanne Basket, for those of you Euro-sports enthusiasts.

Nancy won, much to the excitement of an enthused Eva.

But Tony seemed to take in his brother’s victory with a level of gravity that would indicate the sting of the Lakers’ victory still burns.

Hollywood loves a winner, so it’s no surprise that the show-biz elite turned out in droves  at the Staples Center last night to watch the L.A. Lakers trounce the San Antonio Spurs in game five of the NBA Western Conference finals.

The many luminaries in attendance included Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas and Jeffrey Katzenberg in a veritable Shrek-topia, Zohan-ready Adam Sandler Lionel Richie, Denzel Washington, George Lopez, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Dr. Dre, who all apparently brought luck with them.

Not so lucky: Eva Longoria, whose cheers for her hubby, Spurs point guard Tony Parker, failed to put San Antonio over the top. Maybe he was distracted by all that cleavage he knows so well.

Ha-ha, chumps! Better luck next year, Eva and Tony!
