Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Get Up Close and Personal in OUT’s ‘Love Issue’ (PHOTO)

Neil Patrick Harris and boyfriend – or, as he prefers to call him, “better half” – David Burtka recently opened up about their longstanding relationship in OUT’s ‘Love Issue,’ in which the couple explained why they love each other and why they hope to one day get married.

In the touching cover story, Harris described Burtka as “classically sexy, yet he’s very much a boy in his energy. It’s a great dynamic.”

“When I see people who are equally attractive,” he added, “they tend to seem quiet and kind of Marlboro Man-y, and David’s the antithesis of that. He’s more like Tigger. I’m, in turn, very introspective–the thinker, rather than the doer. I tend to weigh options before making decisions, and David is the polar opposite of that. We’re hyper similar and also incredibly opposite.”

Burtka, meanwhile, wrote he “can’t breathe” without Harris. Still, he doesn’t want people to think that they are the perfect couple.

“Nothing’s perfect,” he wrote. “A relationship is work and it changes. It’s more good times than bad, but it’s not always good. We have a great recipe for a wonderful relationship, but we don’t want to be the poster boys for gay relationships. We’re not trying to pretend that we are perfect. We’re just trying–in a good, positive, loving way–to life our lives.”

And with gay marriage now legal in New York State, will the couple ever tie the knot? The thought is definitely on Harris’ mind.

“I’m not the biggest fan of the word ‘partner,” he wrote. “It either means that we run a business together or we’re cowboys. ‘Boyfriend’ seems fleeting, like maybe we met two weeks ago. I’ve been saying ‘better half’ for as long as I’ve been able to. I think it’s a little self-deprecating and clearly defines that we’re in a relationship, but it would be nice to say ‘my husband.’” Aw!

NPH served as somewhat of a co-host to Drew Carey as he was there in support of cancer research and helped contestants collect their prizes.

Goodbye east coast!

After spending the week co-hosting Live with Kelly, Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka were seen leaving their NYC hotel on Friday, and of course, were doting on their 13-month-old twins Gideon and Harper. (PS, how cute are Harper’s animal print pants?! If you parents out there are wondering they are 77kids Leopard Print Cord Jeggings)

While Neil and the fam consider the west coast their home for now, could NPH be making the move permanent to host with Kelly Ripa full time?!

Neil tweeted:

“Having such fun spending my mornings with @KellyRipa. I’m kinda sorta falling in love with her. What do I say to David?”

Fear not loyal How I Met Your Mother fans, as Neil is secured to star on the hit CBS series for at least one more season. NPH — such a jokester!

Neil Patrick Harris on Engagement to Partner David Burtka: ‘It’s Complicated’

Neil Patrick Harris seems to have done the impossible in Hollywood — not only is he a successful film and TV star, but he manages to balance that with fatherhood and his long time partnership to David Burtka.

So when news broke a few months ago that gay marriage was being legalized in NYC, NPH tweeted about tying the knot with his beau, but recently revelead to Details Magazine that the situation is “complicated.”

Neil revealed:

“It’s complicated. David proposed to me five and a half years ago in New York on the same street corner where we met. The following year on Valentine’s Day in Santa Monica, one of my gifts was a ring and I proposed to him. Then, when the marriage-equality stuff was on the tipping point in New York, where we have residency because we have an apartment there, it seemed my responsibility to at least tweet about it—to say, “Please vote for marriage equality in New York, it would be nice to get married someday.” It passed, and then someone tweeted David asking if we were going to get married, to which David replied, “Yes, I proposed to Neil and he proposed to me.” Which I think sounded immediate and wasn’t. It’s exactly what we didn’t want to do, because we contemplated getting married in California, before the Prop 8 debacle, and I opted not to immediately because I didn’t want it to be a media event. I didn’t want to go marching down the street with camera crews. Oy. To get married? Really? It seems like you have an agenda when you do it that way. I wouldn’t want to get married to be an example. I’m hoping we’ll be able to get married in California soon, but there are no plans afoot.”

Well. regardless, we would love to see these two get married. They already have two adorable children together, 13-month-old twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott. Check out some photos of the happy fam below.

Tiny people (aka babies) seem to be the newest accessory for celebrities! Just kidding, but proud parents have been getting snapped with their adorable bundles of joy all fall and the pics couldn’t be cuter.

From Willow Hart and Flynn Bloom‘s too-cute cheeks to Harper Seven Beckham‘s baby fashion to Harper and Gideon‘s Peter Pan costumes, these babies are really showing up their celebrity parents.

Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Honored at L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s 40th Anniversary Gala (PHOTOS)

Stars joined in this past weekend to celebrate “40 Years of Family” with the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center.

To celebrate this event, How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris and his partner actor/chef David Burtka were given the Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award, presented by Glee star Jane Lynch!

They happy duo looked stylish and oh-so handsome as they suited up for the commemoration, with Neil wearing a gray pinstriped suit and David in a sleek black suit with black tie. The charismatic couple talked about how fortunate they felt. NPH went on to say in his acceptance speech:

“Our society still spends a lot of time arguing about what defining a family means. But David and I have come to realize, and really what the center has exemplified, is what matters is the greater community that surrounds our children.”

Also honored was transgender activist and this past Dancing With The Stars season’s celebrity contestant Chaz Bono. His fellow DWTS contestant David Arquette (who looked dapper in a Commonwealth Proper styled suit) had the pleasure of presenting Chaz with the Board of Director’s Award that night. The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center has been fighting for equal rights and advocating diversity to enrich the lives of gays, lesbians, transgenders and bisexual people since 1971.

Also in attendance were celebs such as Dita Von Teese, Dancing With The Stars dancer Karina Smirnoff, and Fashion Police co-host George Kotsiopoulous among others.

Neil Patrick Harris and boyfriend David Burtka enjoyed a little family time Wednesday afternoon at the Marmalade Cafe in Sherman Oaks, CA, where they were joined by their baby twins, Gideon and Harper.

The happy-go-lucky family looked relaxed and casual as they made their way through the parking lot, with Neil and David holding on to Harper and Gideon, respectively.

Neil and Nate became parents last year with the help of a surrogate. Gideon and Harper recently celebrated their first birthday.

Box Office Battle: ‘Tower Heist’ vs. ‘A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas’ (POLL)

A common thread that will be featured in this weekend’s box office is comedy and laughs galore. Opening this weekend is Tower Heist staring comedic heavyweights Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller. In the raucous Harold & Kumar franchise, A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas opens this weekend as well.

With Neil Patrick Harris, and more ruling theaters this weekend, we guarantee that movie goers will exit theaters with tears in their eyes (in a good way of course!)

In Tower Heist, Stiller and Murphy set out to rob a wealthy businessman after they learn that have fallen victim to his Ponzi scheme. Stiller and Murphy share enormous chemistry and no doubt will serve up pure laughs. Check out the hilarious trailer for the film:

In A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, John Cho and Kal Penn reprise their roles as Harold and Kumar, two hysterical stoner friends. The films center on the twosome’s misadventure when they accidentally burn down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree.

Also reprising his rol e(portraying an exaggerated version of himself), NPH returns to offer up some additional raunchy humor in this comedy.

Neil Patrick Harris and partner David Butka got into the Halloween spirit, going all out as Peter Pan characters this year. Before heading out for the trick-or-treating festivities, Harris tweeted a photo of himself dressed as Captain Hook, Burtka as Peter Pan and one-year-old twins Harper and Gideon dressed as Tinker Bell and John.

‘Harold & Kumar’ Star Melissa Ordway Talks Stripping Down For Neil Patrick Harris

Stripping down for a movie scene is tough but it’s even tougher when you’re doing it in front of one of your biggest idols — just ask Melissa Ordway!

She currently stars as Gracie, a naive Rockette who falls for Neil Patrick Harris (playing an exaggerated version of himself), in A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas. Although Ordway previously worked with NPH on his hit show How I Met Your Mother, the young starlet told Celebuzz that she was still a little shaken up when she had to undress for the legendary actor.

“I was very nervous,” Melissa said, “It’s always nerve-racking to not have a lot of clothes on in front of a group of people, especially someone that you are a fan of!”

“But everyone was really nice. Neil made me feel good about it so everyone made me really comfortable. The nerves went away after the first take.”

Not only did Neil help Melissa relax, but he couldn’t stop making her break out of character!

“It was difficult for me not to laugh during the scenes because he is so talented and hilarious,” she added. “I would just sit there and crack up! Some of the things that come out of his mouth aren’t even on the script and they’re hilarious!”

But NPH isn’t the only Hollywood hunk that Ordway is getting cozy with on-screen! In the new sci-fi thriller In Time, Melissa plays a prostitute who gets involved with Cillian Murphy.

“I play a 60 year old prostitute — which is another classy role,” Melissa jokes, “Luckily, I’m a fully clothed prostitute! I just look a little rough around the edges.”

It’s about time Neil Patrick Harris got his own star on the family Hollywood Walk of Fame!

The How I Met Your Mother “ladies man” received the honor today in Los Angeles. The only question we have is how this hasn’t happened until now.

Neil has been a working actor since he was a child, finding fame as a kid doctor on Doogie Howser. He later made the leap to Broadway, where his considerable talents were highlighted — yes, he’s a triple threat!

During the actor’s strike a few years ago, Neil kept his creative juices flowing by playing a mad scientist in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-aLong Blog, which is out now on DVD.

As for his current job sitch, he’s hard at work on HIMYM. In fact, he’s even showing off some of his dancing skills on the show’s premiere this coming Monday, September 19. Here’s a sneak peak!

NPH was joined at the star ceremony by his fiance David Burtka; the two have adopted twins — a boy and a girl.

Neil Patrick Harris‘ twins Gideon and Harper are only 10-months-old, but they’re already living in the lap of luxury!

The How I Met Your Mother star and his longtime partner David Burtka soaked up the sun in the south of France (along with Elton John and his new bundle of joy) and it looks like the gang had a blast! Sidenote: how adorbs does Neil look in his plaid shirt?!

We hope that doting daddy Neil can enjoy this time off while he can!

The 38-year-old actor is set to return to the set of the hit CBS show How I Met Your Mother set at the end of the summer and it seems as though his womanizing character Barney will go through quite the transformation.

The sixth season left off as we found out that Barney is (spoiler alert!) preparing for his wedding! However, who he is marrying is still a mystery.

TVLine sat down with HIMYM‘s co-creator’s and said the identity of Barney’s bride is “the central mystery of the season. Someone has convinced Barney to put on a boutonniere and walk down the aisle. We’re going to find out who that is this year.” Many have been speculating that it could either be his buddy and former GF Robin or Nora, the British beauty who managed to get Barney’s attention.

Neil Patrick Harris and longtime love David Burtka celebrated Father’s Day with their 8-month-old fraternal twins, Harper and Gideon on Sunday! Though his sweet-cheeked babies couldn’t look any cuter in these pics taken in Sherman Oaks, Calif., NPH tweeted that they weren’t as angelic as they seemed.

The How I Met Your Mother star wrote:

“Are the twins’ unique fussing, crying, and crabbiness today supposed to be some sort of karmic Father’s Day lesson?”

In addition to celebrating Father’s Day, NPH recently had a birthday. “My b’day was unreal,” he tweeted. “D created a surprise ‘murder mystery’ with 25 close friends in character. I was the detective and had to solve crimes!”

The actor and Tony Award host tweeted again about the birthday soiree, writing: “Then, in the backyard, he hired a group of acrobats to do this epic Cirque-like show in/around the pool. With fire!! @Davidburtka rules.”

Neil Patrick Harris Gets the Blues in New ‘Smurfs’ Trailer (VIDEO)

The latest trailer for the animated/live action movie, The Smurfs, has hit the web and if you ask us, it looks pretty smurfing cute!

Neil Patrick Harris stars as a normal guy who randomly ends up in the possession of the little blue creatures., and sure enough, chaos ensues.

So, when can you catch the movie?

The film hits theaters on July 29. It features the voices of Katy Perry (Smurfette), talk show host George Lopez (Grouchy Smurf), Saturday Night Live star Fred Armisen (Brainy Smurf) as well as Hank Azaria as their arch nemesis Gargamel. You’ll also see Glee‘s Jayma Mays as Neil’s wife and Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara on-screen as well.

Neil Patrick Harris & Katy Perry Are Seeing Blue in New ‘Smurfs’ Trailer (VIDEO)

They worked together on How I Met Your Mother in February, but now Neil Patrick Harris and Katy Perry are getting animated in the latest trailer for The Smurfs.

The film revists the popular 80s cartoon, with NPH starring as a normal guy whose life is taken over by the tiny blue-hued creatures and the “Teenage Dream” songstress taking on the voice of Smurfette.

Who else stars in the sure to be fun family film?

In the flesh, The Smurfs features sexy Modern Family star Sofia Vergara and Glee‘s Jayma Mays, plus also features the voices of George Lopez and The Office‘s BJ Novak (to name a few).
