After three seasons, it’s no surprise that Arrested Development has racked up its own inside jokes.

From Ann (her?) to the Bluth family’s painfully-inaccurate chicken dances, these are the recurring gags that keep fans wanting more. And given just how popular they actually are, you can bet your sweet Cornballer that a few of these will show up in the upcoming season on Netflix.

To refresh your memory, here are 20 motifs any true Arrested Development fan should — and probably do — know.

1. The Chicken Dance(s)

Apparently, no one in the Bluth family has ever seen a chicken — thus their impressions of the farm animal is anything but, well, a chicken.

2. Sad Walk

Feeling sad? Turn up “Christmastime Is Here” from A Charlie Brown Christmas and slump around with your head down. That’s how all Bluth men do it anyway.

3. The Cornballer

Invented by George Bluth (Jeffrey Tambor) in the mid-1970s, The Cornballer is a device used to make a deep fried snack called cornballs. It was made illegal after it was found to cause serious burns. (But you can still buy one in Mexico.)

4. Ann

Ann (Mae Whitman) herself is a running gag. As a religious plain jane, it’s hard to imagine why George Michael (Michael Cera) is attracted to her. Most of the time, the Bluths either forget her name — Plant? Yam? Bland? — or literally forget her in places.

5. “Marry Me!”

In faking her to a movie producer position, Maeby (Alia Shawkat) uses this line to change the subject and stop people from inquiring her real age.

6. Tobias Is A Never Nude

What’s with the jean cut-offs? Well, Tobias (David Cross) suffers from Never Nude, a rare medical condition that renders him unable to be naked.

7. Kitty’s Boobs

Since taking a two-week medical leave to get breast implants, Kitty Sanchez (Judy Greer) — George Bluth’s former secretary and mistress — flashes Michael (Jason Bateman) every chance she gets, showing him that he has no power over her. Spring break, woo!

8. Tricks vs. Illusions

Being the “serious” magician that he is, Gob (Will Arnett) simply can’t bring himself to refer to his illusions as “tricks.” Similarly, as a pimp, he also refers to prostitutes as such.

9. “Hey, Brother”

Starting out as a common greeting for Buster (Tony Hale) to Michael and Gob, “hey, brother” became one of his signature lines, expanding to “hey, sister,” “hey, adopted brother” to “hey, possible nephew.”

10. J. Walter Weatherman

J. Walter (Steve Ryan) is a one-armed man who George Bluth employed to scare his children when they were younger. Apparently, seeing a man’s arm get ripped off is a good lesson for kids.

11. “No Touching!”

One of the many things you learn in prison. Plus, it applies to Lucille’s (Jessica Walter) parenting method.

12. Family Banners

The Bluth family loves banners. They use one at almost every function they throw.

13. Steve Holt

Steve Holt (Justin Grant Wade) is the secret son of Gob and the jock at Maeby and George Michael’s high school. How do you know who he is? He’s the guy yelling, “Steve Holt!” Every. Single. Time.

14. Tobias Is Oblivious To His Double Entendres

This is Tobias talking about accidentally using his wife’s spa gift certificate on himself: “I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run if you will, so I’m afraid I have something of a mess on my hands.”

15. Annyong

The Bluths constantly mistake the Korean word for “hello” for Lucille’s adopted son’s name. Sadly, it’s also the only thing he knows how to say.

16. “Come On!”

A normal Bluth reaction to anything that frustrates them.

18. “I’ve Made A Huge Mistake”

Another Bluth reaction.

19. Tobias Is Kind Of, Sort Of Gay

He wrote a book called “The Man Inside Me” that’s widely accepted in the gay community. So yeah.

20. The Baton

After several attempts to escape jail, the cops have learned that the best way to subdue George (and sometimes his twin Oscar) is with a swift club to the head.

Just like how there’s always money in the banana stand, there are always famous faces making appearances on Arrested Development.

Even in its fourth season, premiering on Netflix May 26, the cult comedy has managed to add more celebrities to its already-packed rosters of guest stars.

This upcoming season will see Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig play a fresh-faced Lucille Bluth (Jessica Walter), while funnyman Seth Rogen is suspected take on the role of her husband in his younger days, Geroge (Jeffrey Tambor).

In addition to the newcomers, fan favorites from the past will also be making  a comeback.

A lot has changed since Arrested Development went off the air in 2006.

No one — not even showrunner Mitchell Hurwitz — ever thought the Bluths would reunite, sending the actors out into the world to find new projects after a three-season run on FOX.

Well, the gang is back come May 26 — and they’re bigger than ever.

Jason Bateman and Will Arnett both found success at the box office — and not to mention, took their bromance offscreen — while Michael Cera turned into an awkward indie icon after hanging up his banana stand apron. 

So, what has the cast been up to during this so-called hiatus?

Jason Bateman as Michael Bluth

Since Arrested Development went off the air, Bateman enjoyed success at the box office with roles in such films as Hancock, Juno, Horrible Bosses, Couple’s Retreat, The Switch and The Change-Up.

In 2010, Batman started a digital content production company called DumbDumb Productions with Arrested co-star Will Arnett.

He welcomed his second daughter, Maple, with wife Amanda Anka in 2012.

Michael Cera as George Michael Bluth

In 2007, Cera broke out with Superbad and Juno, which he starred in alongside fellow Arrested Development co-star, Jason Bateman. After gaining notoriety as the go-to guy for “awkward” roles, Cera tried to stay out of the spotlight by taking more indie roles in films such as The End of Love and Magic Magic.

Will Arnett as Gob Bluth

After wrapping Season 3, Arnett continued to receive work in both TV and movie. On the boob tube, the Canadian actor guest-starred on shows such as Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock before becoming a regular on The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Running Wilde and Up All Night — all of which have ended as series.

In film, Arnett starred in comedies like Hot Rod, Blades of Glory (alongside Arrested guest star and then-wife Amy Poehler) and Semi-Pro.

during the downtime, Arnett also welcomed to sons, Archibald and Abel, with Poehler. The couple announced their separation in September 2012.

Portia de Rossi as Lindsay Fünke

In 2008, de Rossi became engaged when talk show host Ellen DeGeneres proposed with a 3-carat pink diamond ring. The couple wed on August 16, 2008 (during the brief window wherein same-sex marriage was legal in California) at their home in front of 21 guests. She was granted a U.S. citizenship in 2011.

Aside from appearing in TV series such as Nip/Tuck and Better Off Ted, the Australian actress also wrote a book, titled Unbearable Lightness, that documented her struggles with anorexia nervosa and bulimia during her time on Ally McBeal.

David Cross as Tobias Fünke

Cross saw plenty of work after Arrested Development, lending his voice to animated films such as Kung Fu Panada and Megamind. The actor also appeared in live action movies like I’m Not There and Year One, which also starred his Arrested co-star Michael Cera.

In his personal life, Cross started dating actress Amber Tamblyn in 2009 before proposing in 2011. The couple married on October 6, 2012.

Alia Shawkat as Maeby Fünke

After Arrested Development‘s third season had ended, Shawkat appeared as supporting characters in indie movie such as Whip It and The Runaways.

In October 2009, it was announced that Shawkat, singer Har Mar Superstar and fellow Whip It co-star Ellen Page would produce and write a show for HBO called Stitch N’ Bitch — which has not been picked up to this day.

Acting and producing aside, Shawkat also dabbled in her musical side, singing guest vocals with her onscreen arch nemesis from Arrested, Mae Whitman, on Fake Problems’ album Real Ghosts Caught on Tape in 2010.

Shawkat dated fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff from 2007 to 2010.

Tony Hale as Buster Bluth

Since 2006, Hale appeared in many TV series as a guest star, including Community, United States of Tara and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Hale also had a recurring on Numb3rs and Chuck.

He is currently a series regular on HBO’s Veep.

Jessica Walter as Lucille Bluth

After Season 3, Walter found fame in playing yet another self-centered alcoholic matriarch in FX animated series, Archer. Her husband, Ron Leibman, lends the voice of her character Malory Archer’s husband.

Walter also dabbled in Broadway, starring in the revival of Anything Goes that officially opened in April 2011.

Jeffrey Tambor as George Bluth

Since the season’s end in 2006, Tambor appeared in the highly-successful The Hangover trilogy and the sequel to 2004′s Hellboy, Hellboy II: The Golden Army. The Hollywood veteran also did voice work for animated features like Monsters vs. Aliens and Tangled.

In 2009, Tambor and his second wife, Kasia Ostlun, welcomed twin boys named Hugo and Eli.

It’s been seven years in the making, but last night the Bluth family was finally back together again. The cast of the much beloved show which includes Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, David Cross, Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat walked the orange carpet at the TCL Chinese Theater for the premiere of the show’s new season, which premieres on Netflix May 26.

The show joins finds the Bluth family seven years after we last saw them in the season three finale which aired in 2006. The Bluths have all split up and “time has not been kind” to any of them. “So we’re all kind of a little banged up,” Bateman, who plays Michael Bluth, said.

Everyone in the cast reiterated how excited they were for the show’s return.

De Rossi said of the reunion: “such a relief. It’s so exciting. I’ve been waiting for a long, long time.”

“Seven years in the waiting, as they say,” said Walter, who plays the cold and calculating Bluth matriarch Lucille. Calling the first day shooting “emotional, for me,” Walter added: “I care about this show a lot. It meant a lot for me in my career.”

The entire fourth season, which consists of 15 episodes, will be made available to stream on Netflix next month. In addition to the show’s full original cast, many new actors will appear in the show’s long-awaited fourth season including Kristen Wiig, John Krasinski, John Slattery, Conan O’Brien, Seth Rogen and Isla Fisher.

As for the rumors about an Arrested Development movie to follow season four, the cast played coy.

“If there is a movie, I think we’ve kind of caught the audience up from 2006 to 2012. I think that was the purpose of this series,” said de Rossi. “And now by the end of this series we’ll be in current time. That’s all I know.”

After a first foray into original programming, the folks at Netflix swung for the fence with House of Cards. And, boy, did they hit it out of the park.

The political thriller, a remake of a BBC series based on Michael Dobbs’ novel, follows a cunning South Carolina Congressman as he schemes his way through Washington, D.C. After being snubbed the once-promised position of Secretary of State, Francis “Frank” Underwood (Kevin Spacey) — with a helping hand from his equally hard-hearted wife Claire (Robin Wright) and a hungry rookie reporter, Zoe (Kate Mara) — plots a masterfully-orchestrated plan to topple the newly-elected president.

Since last Friday, the series’ entire 13-episode first season has been available to Netflix’s 33 million streaming subscribers worldwide. So if the dark, expertly-directed drama is right at your fingertips, what are you waiting for?

Celebuzz has five reasons to tune into Netflix’s already acclaimed House of Cards.

1. Binging can be a good thing. While critics are wary of House of Cards‘ all-at-once release, binge-watching has simply become a part of programming culture. Whether coming late to the party on a still-airing series or running through a retired show, many viewers have stopped slowly savoring shows, instead indulging in multiple episodes — or, dare we say, an entire season — in a single sitting. While it may not leave you time to mull over that cliffhanger, a television bender comes with the instant gratification of a full story in one fell swoop.  So, sit back, relax, and splurge on the show.

2. Spacey is spot-on. The actor is one of the main reasons House of Cards can stand among the most elite TV series. He’s a beloved character actor from acclaimed films such as American Beauty, Seven and The Usual Suspects. Spacey’s just-sinister-enough portrayal of the shrewd, ruthless Majority Whip of the House of Representatives — a Democrat with a Southern snarl — is a large part of what has House of Cards watchers coming back for more.

3. For Fincher’s sake. House of Cards is from David Fincher, the brain behind The Social Network, Fight Club, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Not only did he take the directing reigns for the new drama series, but Fincher even threw his Academy Award-winning weight behind the show by executive producing. And it all pays off — the show is shot and directed as beautifully as his big-screen successes.

4. Rooney Mara’s big sister receives raves. After stealing the spotlight on FX’s American Horror Story, Kate Mara has set tongues wagging as journalist Zoe Barnes, an amateur-but-ballsy reporter at the fictional Washington Herald who will stop at no end to land a scoop. And now that she is earning praise for the part, the actress has her little sister, Rooney Mara, to thank. “I read the script…and fell in love with the role,” she told Elle magazine. So she phoned her sister, who was shooting The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo with House of Cards’ director Fincher at the time. “[I] told her how amazing David’s new project was and that I really wanted the part. Two months later, David asked me to play the role,” the actress remembered.

5. The real Washington. Instead of romanticizing inside the powerful city — a la West Wing — House of Cards pulls back the curtain on the Capital City. Sure, some of the manipulations and power plays on The Hill may be amplified up in the name of art, but at least it digs into the too-often-shrouded wheeling and dealing of Washington.

On Tuesday, Netflix gave its subscribers yet another reason to veg out on the couch all day. The company signed a multi-year deal with Disney to exclusively  stream first-run live-action and animated films. Starting in 2016, subscribers will be able to access theatrical releases from Disney, Marvel and Pixar. Netflix announced the deal via press release.

Meanwhile, less than 24 hours after J.J. Abrams unveiled the poster for his top-secret movie Star Trek Into Darkness, word comes that a special 60-second trailer for the film will hit the internet on Thursday, December 6. Simon Pegg, who plays “Mr. Scott” in the film, tweeted the news of the internet-only trailer on Tuesday. Fans wanting to see the full trailer will have to wait until December 14, when it is released before prints of The Hobbit. [Twitter]

On the heels of news that Dale DeHaan will play Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, his co-star Jamie Foxx recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight regarding his role as the sequel’s villain, Electro. “I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he’s a … genius electrician-type person,” Foxx said. “He gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on.” Andrew Garfield will reprise the role of Spider-Man opposite Foxx in the sequel, which hits theaters May 4, 2012. Work is already progressing on a sequel to Guillermo Del Toro‘s Pacific Rim before the original even has a trailer in theaters. Del Toro and Rim‘s screenwriter Travis Beacham will co-write Pacific Rim 2 for Legendary Pictures, the production outlet behind the original film. No word yet on what the story will be, other than it will be set in the same “monsters vs. 30-foot robots” world of the original film. Pacific Rim opens July 2013. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Frances Ford Coppola, after a string of small indie movies, is returning to studio filmmaking. The Godfather director is currently looking for studio to set up home for his next film, a sprawling New York-based epic that spans from the 1920s to the ’60s. The mystery project will mark the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s first studio film since 1997′s The Rainmaker, starring Matt Damon. [Entertainment Weekly]

Zero Dark Thirty‘s Jason Clarke and Drive‘s Oscar Isaac will topline Mojave, written and directed by Oscar-winner William Monahan. The thriller’s plot is being kept under wraps, but the story reportedly centers on two men who end up in the dessert and find themselves entering “a vortex of criminality and violence.” Monahan will finish the big screen adaptation of Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, starring Charlize Theron, before shooting Mojave early next year. It turns out getting a Christmas card from Anne Hathaway isn’t as hard as one would suspect, but it’ll cost you—you can receive a holiday greeting designed by the the actress for just $5,000.

Hathaway, along with Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba, has created personalized holiday cards in conjunction with Netflix and Feeding America, a charity focused on providing meals for the needy this holiday season.

Each of the stars donated their artistic talents and names for the Netflix gift, which costs a cool 5K but provides 80,000 meals, according to the group.

Alba’s card features a snowman that the 27-year-old’s daughter Honor Marie would approve of, complete with a carrot nose. Affleck, 36, opted for candy canes and the message, “Fill a bowl, Feed America.”

Johansson, 24, went an artful route with a charcoal sketch of intertwining hands. Rounding out the group is 26-year-old Hathaway, who festooned her offering with some festive yarn and a simple, “Happy Holidays.”
