We all know how shocked Taylor Swift gets when her name is called, only now the queen of the surprise face is giving it her best in a new promo shot for her upcoming stint on New Girl.

T-Swift’s much-anticipated appearance on the season finale of the hit Fox show May 14 has the country pop superstar playing Elaine — a wedding guest at Cece’s (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang’s (Satya Bhabha) nuptials.

And leave it to Swifty to have the whole episode centered around her. In fact, it’s Taylor-made with the name of the episode titled “Elaine’s Big Day.” By the look of the pic that’s exactly what it is: Tay-Tay dressed in lace and pearls and holding court in the crowd of wedding reception guests.

What pray tell could she be doing?

“She was amazing. She’s a fantastic actress. She did such a good job,” executive producer Liz Meriwether told E! News. “Our set is a fun set to come to, but it’s also a little bit crazy because there’s a lot of improv and people shouting out extra jokes and she completely held her own and did such a great job with it. She fits in great. She’s really, really great in the finale. It’s really funny.”

From awkward onstage moments at the MTV Movie Awards to rewindable spots on Modern Family and New Girl, we’ve got 60 seconds worth of wacky TV goodness.

It was more like a laugh fest at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills as the cast and producers of FOX’s New Girl took over PaleyFest. The panel consisted of inside jokes, awkward moonwalks, poking fun at one another and quirky moments from the beloved Zooey Deschanel and creator Elizabeth Meriwether as they had the whole audience bursting with laughter.

Though the night was full of witty one-liners, there was one thing everyone had on their mind: What’s happening with Jess (Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson)?

After news of the show getting picked up for a third season, it was apparent that the writers had plenty of ideas to keep audiences guessing what will be next for the quirky cast. Yet, at the same time they had no specific plans on what kinds of situations the cast could possibly come across.

“There are some benefits to not plan, sort of do what we want. And do what feels right for that episode that we are working on at that moment. Then, try to push ourselves to go as far as we can and next episode solve the problems that we started. It’s a funny way of doing it but it kind of helps to keep pushing, instead of saying, ‘In this moment, this is going to happen and then this is going to happen,’” creator Meriwether added.

But what we can be sure is that there will be plenty of entertaining plots, a death, an Elvis costume and the cast losing their virginity.

Here’s some inside scoop on what fans can look forward to as season two comes to a wrap.

1. Nick and Jess’ future. With the recent kiss between Jess and Nick, viewers are dying to know what’s next for the two. Will they get together, will they make it work, or will they just forget about it? “I think that they are very good together,” commented Johnson. “I personally don’t know if they are ready to be in a long term relationship. But, I like the fact that they are exploring this dynamic and we’ll see what happens.”

2. Schmidt’s (Max Greenfield) and Cece’s future. Another couple who just can’t seem to decide who they want to be with may have some turn of events. When asked if Cece’s (Hannah Simone) wedding was going to happen, the producers couldn’t help but deflect the question. Though they did add, “With an engagement you would think a wedding might be in the future. The story will continue, we really don’t know.”

3. The death in the family and Elvis. It’ll be a turn of events as the gang heads to Chicago after news of Nick’s father passing away. For the emotional episode, the producers brought in an amazing guest cast with Nick Kroll as Nick’s brother and Margo Martindale playing Nick’s mother as fans get introduced to his big family, who word has it aren’t too fond of Jess. Aside from the upsetting family news, Deschanel channels her inner rocker and dresses up as Elvis Presley.

4. The gang loses their virginity.  Now this might be the next most anticipated episode in our books, as the cast gets a blast from the past and we see how the group all lost their virginity. Written by Meriwether, the episode has Nick as his sixteen-year-old self with braces and Schmidt in his “Fat Schmidt” days. Word has it that he gets “overzealous with some lube” as he is “seen in his dorm room moving through space,” according to Johnson.  It’ll be a fun time for the cast as they spend some extra time in the hair and makeup department this week.

5. Schmidt’s first name. The mystery continues on what could possibly be Schmidt’s first name. Producers Dave Finkel and Brett Baer stated, “We wrote it in an episode and we cut it out. We do have some, two maybe, we’ve been going back and forth.” As for Greenfield and his opinion on what his character’s first name might be, “I don’t ever want to know, I think it should be Schmidt forever.” We guess this might be an unsolved mystery for now.

6. Guest stars galore. The rest of the season is sure to bring back some beloved characters as Lamorne Morris who plays Winston alluded to a Justin Long comeback. Aside from Nick’s family members guest starring, we will also see Ellen Albertini Dow, Bill Burr, and Jess’ dad played by Rob Reiner reprising his role on Episode 24. The producers have even thought about introducing Schmidt’s family and exploring the idea with a potential single mother and his relationship with his father. Maybe even a possible spot for Zooey’s sister, Emily Deschanel?

Much like the rom-com movie genre, TV has its own formula for love. That is, of course, the age-old “will they or won’t they?” relationships.

It works, because we’ve all been there. Whether it’s on screen or in real life, couples rarely have the perfect relationship. On TV, it’s usually an on-again-off-again type of love that captivates us. Hate it or love it, these relationships keep us coming back for more.

So, will they or won’t they?

Jake Johnson, who plays the endearing curmudgeon, Nick, loves the way FOX’s New Girl is playing out the possibility of a romance between his character and his adorkable roommate Jess (Zooey Deschanel).

“I think what the writers are doing with Nick and Jess is very realistic,” Johnson told Celebuzz. “That is, you know, who you have a crush on and if you’re single and somebody else is single, you know, if there’s a thought. You might not do anything about it, but you both know it’s there.”

Johnson warns that things between Nick and Jess will get “really heavy” on the second half of the season. Timing will be everything. “A lot of people say ‘will they or won’t they’ and I think it’s way more of ‘when will we try this,’” he explained.

“Will we be ready at the same time? Because I think both those characters know there is something to this, but neither of them knows what it is or if it will work so they’re kind of like ‘not now.’ And they’re waiting for that moment to say, ‘Are you ready? Am I ready?’ I think it’s going to be a delicate balance to figure out when is right.”

While much of the attention on the first season paid to Jess and Max Greenfield’s Schmidt, Nick has become something of a breakout character on the comedy’s sophomore season. Johnson thinks the show’s writers found Nick this year.

“Sometimes in Season 1, I didn’t know who Nick was,” the 34-year-old said. “There would be an episode where I didn’t fully get him and this year every episode I feel like he’s Nick.”

Johnson says he usually agrees with his cranky alter-ego’s sentiment even if he doesn’t always agree with how Nick handles uncomfortable situations. “I’m not a big believer in positive thinking,” he laughed.

“I don’t like ‘The Secret.’ I don’t like people going through knee surgery who are saying, ‘Life is amazing.’ You are stuck on your back. You’re allowed to say, ‘This is terrible.’ And so I think that part of Nick I can relate to. I like that Nick says how he feels.”

The Chicago native said it was growing up in the city that houses the legendary Second City and gave Jim Belushi, Bill Murray and Chris Farley their start that made him a career in show business.

“I really looked up to them and idolized those guys and wanted to act,” he said. “And then I saw Cheers when I was [a kid] and I fell in love with it and I wanted to be on a TV show. Cheers was the show that my whole family watched together and we cared about it and we talked about it. TV was something my family loved.”

Johnson actually studied writing at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and is currently writing a comedy pilot for FOX with director Max Winkler. “I feel like writing is more intellectual and thoughtful and you have to think about it. And I think acting is kind of more emotional and in the moment,” he explained.

These days, he always hears from people who think they are just like Nick but always add, “that’s just between us.”

“Nick’s not a nightmare. He just isn’t the most flowery guy,” Johnson said. “Here’s the reality of Nick: We’ve got a small group of people who think they’re like Nick, but we’re strong.”

New Girl airs Tuesdays at 9PM on FOX.

Forget formal black — Zooey Deschanel is red hot.

The New Girl actress matched her strapless, floor-grazing Oscar de la Renta ball gown to the legendary red carpet as she arrived at the Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Sunday.

“Yeah, I didn’t know what anybody else was going to wear,” Deschanel said of her dress choice. “I just chose this because I liked it.”

Deschanel — who is “excited” to be nominated for Best Actress in a TV Comedy Series for her Fox hit New Girl— honored old Hollywood with a nail-art manicure, which has become something of a signature for the always adorkable actress.

“These are film cameras and filmstrips and it’s continuous,” Deschanel said, showing off her golden tips. “It’s serial nails, if you will.”

In a sea of color on the red carpet, Deschanel wasn’t the only star to show up in a scarlet hue for the 70th annual awards show. New mom Claire Danes — up for Best Actress in TV Series Drama for her starring role in Showtime thriller, Homeland — debuted her post-baby body in a red-hot Versace gown, while Silver Linings Playbook star Jennifer Lawrence — vying for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy — was on fire in a Dior Haute Couture creation.

But this year, Deschanel is hoping her dress doesn’t present any malfunctions, as it did at the 2012 Emmy Awards when her powder-blue skirt got stuck on Lucy Liu. “She didn’t even know what was happening. It was pretty amazing,” she recalled of “trying to keep Lucy Liu from walking off with a part of my dress” on the carpet.

“Those dresses are expensive,” she continued. “I don’t want to be responsible for anything. You have to be very careful. [But] this fabric is not as ‘hookable.’”

FOX’s The Mindy Project will be seeing some cast changes from its series. Amanda Setton, who portrays sexy receptionist Shauna will be written out of the show mid-season, while Anna Camp‘s Gwen is being bumped to a recurring role. [EW]

Law & Order veteran Dennis Farina has been cast to play Nick’s (Jake Johnson) scam artist father in a 2013 episode of New Girl. In the story, Nick is highly suspicious about his dad’s impromptu visit, though Jess (Zooey Deschanel) couldn’t be more delighted to meet the elder Miller. [TVLine]

Judd Apatow‘s The Simpsons episode is getting made — more than two decades later. The FOX series’ executive producer Al Jean confirmed that the script the Knocked Up and This Is 40 writer-producer-director penned 22 years ago will (finally) air next season. [EW]

Whitney Cummings has announced the first guest on her new E! talk show, Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings. The Office and The Mindy Project star Mindy Kaling is set to appear on the inaugural episode. Will Ferrell, Lizzy Caplan and Ginnifer Goodwin will also be guests in the near future. [E! Two new faces are heading to Mystic Falls as Camille Guaty and Charlie Bewley will guest-star on at least two episodes of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries. Guaty, whose credits include Prison Break and Las Vegas, will play Caitlin, a woman from Professor Shane’s (David Alpay) past. [TV Guide]

Sitcoms across the board failed to make people laugh and many comedies suffered a ratings drop on Tuesday night. FOX’s New Girl took a hard hit and managed to rake in only 4.1 million viewers, falling two tenths to a series low. Meanwhile, NBC’s The New Normal hit a new low in their demographic, drawing in only 4.35 million viewers. [TVLine]

It’s time for Mike Rowe to clean up his act. After eight seasons, the Dirty Jobs host announced that the Discovery series has indeed been canceled. “A few weeks ago, I was officially informed that Dirty Jobs had entered into a new phase,” host Mike Rowe wrote on his blog. “One I like to call, ‘permanent hiatus.’ Or in the more popular industry vernacular, canceled … Dirty Jobs is a very personal show, and it’s difficult for me to imagine a future that does not involve exploding toilets, venomous snakes, misadventures in animal husbandry, and feces from every species.” [EW]

Though recently canceled, ABC’s Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue will not leave fans hanging, promises their respective showrunners. “We have time to tweak,” Last Resort creator Shawn Ryan confirmed, adding that Episode 13 will serve as a full-fledged series finale. Meanwhile, 666 executive producers David Wilcox and Matt Miller teased that the show “is building to a powerful and surprising series finale, where all your questions will be answered. We hope fans of the show continue watching all the way to the end of Jane and Henry’s incredible journey to the dark side.” [TVLine]

Gobble Gobble! It’s Thanksgiving week and you know what that means!

Holiday episodes and TV marathons galore all over the small screen as Americans get to cooking, eating and sleeping.

There’s a bountiful feast of fantastic options on TV this week as you contemplate whether or not to have that second serving of turkey and potatoes (go ahead!). And, of course, there’s always football. Many broadcast shows will also be celebrating the holiday with special episodes.

ABC’s Happy Endings is showing how the gang met on an un-aired season of The Real World while FOX’s New Girl is introducing Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel) parents played by Jamie Lee Curtis and Rob Reiner.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of marathons for you to catch of  all your favorite shows or perhaps even discover some new ones while you’re relaxing the days away. Where does one begin to catalog the best “Schmidt moments” from FOX’s hit show New Girl?

Whether he’s floating his latest catchphrase, or scoring a date with yet another beautiful lady despite himself, Schmidt is non-stop entertainment.

Played to perfection by Max Greenfield (who has a tendency to steal every scene he’s in – including those with the amazing title star Zooey Deschanel involved), Schmidt is a supporting character who is anything but an afterthought.

To no one’s surprise, Showtime has renewed the Best Drama Emmy winner, Homeland, for Season 3. The show starring Damian Lewis and Claire Danes garnered its best ratings ever last night. Season 2’s fourth episode had a record 1.75 million viewers. A familiar face will be showing up on The CW’s Supernatural this season. Actor Jon Gries, who appeared on the Season 5 episode, “Sam, Interrupted,” as Martin Creaser will be back in Season 8’s “Citizen Fang.” Sam (Jared Padalecki) will alsk Martin to keep watch over vampire Benny (Ty Olsson) after there are some mysterious deaths in Benny’s hometown. Jesse James is teaming up with the Discovery Channel for a new series, Jesse James – Outlaw Garage. The show will feature the bad boy in his new business venture at the Austin Speed Shop in Texas. As part owner of the shop, he will attempt to take his employees to the next level in making their shop the best in the country. The show premieres Monday, Nov. 5 at 10 PM on the Discovery Channel. Breaking Bad’s Betsy Brandt will pop up on the NBC drama, Parenthood, for one episode. Brandt will play the ex-wife of Ray Romano’s Hank Rizzoli. Hank was last seen kissing Sarah (Lauren Graham) on the emotional show. No airdate has been set for her episode. [TV Guide]

FOX has ordered more episodes of both Raising Hope and New Girl. Raising Hope’s full season will now total 24 episodes instead of the initial 22-episode order. Star Lucas Neff tweeted the announcement. Sophomore comedy New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel will also air 24 episodes now. [THR]

The Critics Choice Movie Awards will be broadcast live this year on The CW. Nominees for the 18th annual awards show will be announced Dec. 11. The show will air live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at 8 PM. [The CW]

WE TV has given the greenlight to a new original series, Obsessed with the Dress, which gives viewers a peek into former beauty queen Michele Strom’s dress shop, The Winning Crown, where clients shop for the perfect dress which may increase their chance at a crown. WE also announced it has renewed Kendra on Top and L.A. Hair for their second seasons. All three series will premiere in 2013. [WE]

Dance duo, DJ’s Mix – Jaycee, 9 and Dylynn, 10 –  have won Disney Channel’s “Make Your Mark: Shake it Up Dance Off.” The duo were chosen from more than 90,000 online dance video submissions and will appear on an upcoming episode of Shake It Up. [Disney Channel]

ABC’s Sunday Night lineup was up in the ratings last night. Once Upon a Time rose to 9.7 million viewers up three tenths of a point in the ad-coveted 18-49 demographic. Meanwhile, Revenge and 666 Park Avenue showed 8 percent and 20 percent climbs respectively. NBC won the night with 15.6 million viewers for Sunday Night Football. CBS’ Sunday lineup, delayed because of football, was down for The Amazing Race and up slightly for The Good Wife. [TV Guide]

The cast and creators of FOX’s New Girl should be smiling this morning as they are seemingly the only scripted show who remained steady in the ratings on Tuesday. Though CBS won the night overall, their shows did take a dip of between nine and 16 percent. NBC’s comedies also suffered from declining ratings as their usually strong lead in of The Voice was a recap special. Meanwhile FOX’s other comedies, including freshman series The Mindy Project and Ben and Kate, were all down more than 20 percent from last week. The premiere of the CW’s Hart of Dixie was steady in its key demographic of 18-34 but down 13 percent from it’s debut last year. [EW]

What award is bringing the stars out to salute Ellen DeGeneres? 

Emmy host Jimmy Kimmel along with Kristin Chenoweth, Steve Harvey and Lily Tomlin will honor DeGeneres as she receives the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Oct. 22 at the Kennedy Center in Washington. Also on hand to honor the funny woman will be John Krasinski, Sean Hayes and Jazon Mraz. The show will be broadcast on PBS stations on Oct. 30. [AP]

ABC’s new musical drama Nashville is teaming up with Taylor Swift’s record label, Big Machine Records. It was announced that one song from the three to seven musical performances per episode will be released to iTunes by Big Machine. Two songs will be released from the premiere – “Love Like Mine” as sung by Hayden Panettiere and “Back Home” performed by Charles Esten. “Telescope” performed by Panettiere on Episode 2 will be the first song sent to country radio. Nashville premieres Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 10 PM on ABC.  [THR/Billboard]

Strike Back will be back on Cinemax for Season 3 in 2013. The Emmy-nominated series will shoot in South Africa and Hungary for its new 10-episode season. The currently running second season finds the team of counterterrorism operatives tracking stolen nuclear triggers while facing their own issues. Adult Swim favorites, Children’s Hospital and National Terrorist Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle (NTSF:SD:SUV), have been picked up for new seasons. Children’s Hospital, created by Rob Corddry, will be back for Season 5. NTSD:SD:SUV, which focuses on government agents protecting the city, is making its Season 3 return. [Deadline]

The Hollywood Reporter has once again compiled its list of showrunners to watch for 2013. Included on the list are House of Lies’ Matthew Carnahan, Nashville’s Dee Johnson, The Mindy Project’s Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton, and Arrow’s Andrew Kreisberg and Revolution’s Eric Kripke among others. Sahara Davenport, 27, also known as Antoine Ashley, passed away due to heart failure on Oct. 1 in Baltimore. Davenport, is best known for his appearance on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Logo released the following statement: “Logo is profoundly saddened by the passing of Antoine Ashley who fans around the world knew and loved as Sahara Davenport. He was an amazing artist and entertainer who’ll be deeply missed by his Logo family. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, especially his boyfriend Karl, in their time of need.”

Fans of Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) on FOX’s New Girl may not be happy by this news. Olivia Munn, who currently stars on HBO’s The Newsroom, is set to play Nick’s recurring girlfriend Angie in an arc this season. It is believed that her first episode will air in November. [THR]

To celebrate the final season of Jersey Shore, MTV is bringing you Snooki and the gang for a whole week. Staring Thursday at 10 PM, the network will host a “Jerzathon” of all five previous seasons back-to-back leading up to next week’s premiere. The marathon will start with “Gym, Tan, Look Back,” a retrospective special featuring cast interviews and footage from Season 6. Select castmembers will also be tweeting during the marathon this weekend. Jersey Shore’s final season premieres Thursday, Oct. 4 at 10 PM. [MTV]

The CW has announced they are joining the ranks of networks offering up pilots online prior to premiere day with Emily Owens, M.D. The medical drama, starring Mamie Gummer, will be available for viewing via iTunes, CWTV.com, and Facebook beginning Monday. Emily Owens, M.D. premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 9 PM on The CW. Midseason CW show, Cult, has cast the parents of Skye Yarrow (Jessica Lucas). In Cult, Skye plays a researcher for the show within a show (also called Cult) and works with reporter Jeff Sefton (Matt Davis) to find his brother after he goes missing because of his intense devotion to the series. Playing Skye’s parents are Dawson’s Creek alum Obba Babtunde and Veronica Mars alum Erica Gimpel. [Zap2it]

We’re looking forward to another two years of The Soup on E! as Joel McHale has signed a new deal with the network to extend the show. In addition, the Community star’s production company, Free Period Productions, will develop nonscripted projects with E! while he will develop scripted projects with Sony Pictures television. [THR]

On FOX’s breakout hit New Girl, Max Greenfield plays Schmidt, a guy who was probably voted “Most Likely to be Shirtless at Any Given Moment” in high school.

But it’s Schmidt’s lack of modesty that has made him one of television’s funniest characters. After all, it’s not every day that a guy throws a “penis cast removal party.”

“First episode, it’s off. He’s back!,” Greenfield told Celebuzz. “Thank goodness. That needed to happen. But it’s off and he’s a free man again. And that’s a good thing for everybody.”

That is, everybody except for Parker Posey.

The Party Girl actress will guest star on the Season 2 premiere episode, entitled “Re-launch,” as a shot girl at Schmidt’s penis cast removal party. And, of course, with his nether regions now diaper and cast-free, Schmidt is looking for some action.

“When someone like Parker Posey steps on the set, the sparks are flying before anything is even lit,” said Greenfield. “He’d be a fool not to try something.”

And yes, this means that Schmidt’s and Cece’s (Hannah Simone) awkward-yet-adorkable relationship is over… for now. After his attempt to “White Fang” her on the Season 1 finale, it looks like Cece called it quits.

“He’s a free man in every sense of the word now,” said Greenfield. “And it’s going to get truly scary for everyone else involved.”

Watch out, ladies! Schmidt is back on the prowl.

Though he may not always be thankful for Schmidt’s “no shirt, no problem” philosophy, Greenfield is extremely grateful for the show’s success, especially among A-list “movie people.”

“It’s crazy,” he said. “It was nuts when we went to the Golden Globes, and you have all of these fancy movie people sitting in the middle. And then all of the sudden, you’re going to bathroom and Rob Reiner is, like, right next to you, saying ‘I love your show!’ It’s like, what is happening? It’s all very surreal.”

Meanwhile, in between his hectic shooting schedule and creative side projects, Greenfield has also turned Schmidt into a viral internet sensation. Back in April, the actor went rogue and posted a workout video featuring his character Schmidt. Are there anymore spontaneous Schmidt videos in Greenfield’s future?

“I have a couple of ideas,” he said. “We’ll see what happens. My only problem is that I’m so busy with the show, I literally don’t know when I’ll have the time to do it. But we’ll see!”

New Girl Season 2 premieres Tuesday at 8 PM on FOX, followed by new show Ben and Kate, then another all-new episode of New Girl at 9 PM.

Are New Girl co-stars Max Greenfield and Zooey Deschanel planning to coordinate their looks at the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night?

Well, if the decision was up to funny man Greenfield, the Fox sitcom duo would be the talk of the Emmys — complete with matching tuxedo nails.

“I think it’s something that people are going to be excited about and that people are going to talk about,” teased Greenfield in an interview with Celebuzz. “We don’t want to make too much of a splash so that we take away from the event. You know, we don’t want the Emmys to be all about Max and Zooey — but it will be talked about.”

Jokes aside, Greenfield, a first-time Emmy nominee, will be documenting his big night… for Gwyneth Paltrow?

When he’s not rehearsing scenes for his hit sitcom or writing, directing and starring in his own web series for AXE, Greenfield is an avid reader of Paltrow’s lifestyle newsletter GOOP.  Now that he and “GP” — as he affectionately calls the actress — are on friendly terms, he’s even going to give GOOP readers the inside scoop on Emmy night.

“It’s all going to be documented — everything that goes into such an event and prepping myself for such an event will be documented in this GOOP piece,” said Greenfield. “I think maybe I’ll take a few pictures that night, but I don’t want to be that annoying guy with his camera all night.”

For Greenfield, the thought of even being nominated for an Emmy is unbelievable. ”It felt like a very big 180,” he said, noting that just two years ago his biggest role had been playing a young Sandy Cohen in an episode of The OC. But to be nominated alongside his New Girl co-star Deschanel is even more incredible.

“We were emailing back and forth the entire day,” he recalled. “We just couldn’t believe it.”

As for Deschanel — who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy — she notes that while she doesn’t have a speech prepared yet, she’s not going to worry about that just yet.

“We work crazy hours, and I try to keep things as low-key as possible because it makes me less nervous,” the actress told Celebuzz and a group of reporters during a Fox conference call. “And I try to just have a good time while getting ready. It’s silly to get upset about anything because the whole thing is supposed to be fun. It’s a treat that we’re all getting appreciated, and it should be something that we all enjoy. So I never freak out. It’s not work — It’s fun.”

What about Deschanel’s Emmy dress? The comedy actress nominee revealed that the dress will have the same vintage look as her 2011 Emmys ensemble. ”I think it’s a really great dress, and I’m really excited,” she said.

New Girl’s resident douche, Schmidt (Max Greenfield), is coming out with his own book. The Douche Journals: The Definitive Account of One Man’s Genius chronicles every “douche-y” infraction Schmidt has ever made. Which Friends star’s show got picked up for another season? 

Matt LeBlanc’s Showtime series Episodes has been renewed for a third season. LeBlanc, who plays himself on the show, won a Golden Globe for the award in January of 2012. The third season of the critically acclaimed show will consist of nine half-hour episodes. [Showtime]

Ed O’Neill is lending his voice to Disney’s animated series, Fish Hooks, on Friday. The Modern Family star will voice a spider who interrupts Milo, Bea and Oscar during their game night. The episode entitled “Spiders Bite” airs Friday at 9:15 PM. [Disney]

The 85th Academy Awards Ceremony will again be directed by Don Mischer. Additionally, his production company will produce both the Oscar pre-show and Governor’s Ball. The director, who previously worked on the last two Oscar Awards telecasts, will join already announced show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Mischer is sure to be a great support for the first-time producers. [The Wrap]

Now, this is a Fifty Shades of Grey casting idea that we can get behind.

New Girl funnyman Max Greenfield told Celebuzz that portraying playboy millionaire Christian Grey in the big screen adaptation of author E.L. James’ racy trilogy could be the role of a lifetime.

“I want to audition for the movie,” said Greenfield. “I think I’d be great in it!”

But is Greenfield ready for all of those NSFW scenes? 

He added, “Look, when I read the book, I thought, ‘What a comedy!’ I think maybe I can bring a little bit of validity to the situation. Sometimes, you try to figure out life and what it all means, and maybe I only got this New Girl job so that I would be enough of a commodity to get the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey. I’d probably retire after I did that because I think my performance would be just spot-on.”

“I don’t even think it’s a shirtless thing,” he deadpanned. “I think it’s more of a raw intensity thing. Obviously, I’m the man for the job.”

And when it comes to casting his perfect Fifty Shades of Grey co-star, Greenfield said he wants Girls star Lena Dunham to play his leading lady, Anastasia Steele. After all, the actor said, he’d love to guest-star on the HBO series.

“She’s fantastic,” he said of Dunham. “What if Judd [Apatow] and I collaborated and turned Fifty Shades of Grey into a movie together? That’s what I’d like to do. Me, Lena [Dunham] and Judd. It’s a done deal. I’m calling whoever owns the rights and making this happen.”

But will the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon ever pop up on New Girl? Greenfield seemed hopeful that Schmidt might take an interest in the novel after realizing how many ladies he could score — after his penis cast removal, of course.

“I have read anything in any of those scripts about Fifty Shades of Grey, but I’m sure that it’s going to come up. If we were going to do it, we’d have to dedicate an entire episode to it and go all out. Slowly but surely, everyone in the apartment will be reading it. It will be like a sexual awakening!”

New Girl Season 2 premieres Sept. 25 at 8 PM on Fox, followed by another all-new episode at 9 PM.
