Boston will be getting huge support from the music world come May 30.

On Friday, it was announced that Beantown favorites New Kids on the Block, Aerosmith and James Taylor will headline a concert benefitting victims of the Boston marathon bombing.

Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration will also include apperances by Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, Carol King, Boston and Dane Cook.

“Like so many other proud Bostonians who have been extremely generous, we are honored to step up and do our part to help the victims and their families,” NKOTB’s Donnie Wahlberg said in a statement. [via Reuters]

“Hopefully this event will not only raise money, but spirits as well.”

Proceeds from the benefit concert, set to take place at the TD Garden, will go to the One Fund created by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday.

Looks like this wallflower’s got “The Right Stuff.”

On Thursday, the New Kids On The Block revealed the new music video for their single, “Remix (I Like The),” the first track off their upcoming album 10.

The video follows a lonely wallflower, played by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Artemis Pebdani, who finds herself at a typical house party with no one to talk to.

After a quick face wash, she flicks her hair back and dances her way around the house… and eventually into the arms of Donnie Wahlberg.

10, slated for an April 2 release, will be the pop group’s first studio album since 2008’s The Block.

Wahlberg, along with Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, Jordan and Jonathan Knight are gearing up for a summer tour with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men.

The Package Tour kicks off with three shows in Uncasville, CT starting on May 28. The tour will also take NKOTB and company to cities including Toronto, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Atlantic City.

Donnie Wahlberg was spilling the secrets on his New Kids on The Block bandmates and his brother Mark Wahlberg on Tuesday’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

The NKOTB member and Blue Bloods actor took part in a “Spill the Tea” portion of the show where Cohen asks him all the things he wants to know about his early days.

Not only was he quick to point out that his brother Mark and his band Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch went on tour with NKOTB and not the other way around, but he also told us who has better game between the brothers.

“I had different game. I’d say I had better game. I had mature game. Mark had young cocky game,” he said.

What did Wahlberg have to say about his the other band members?

The actor also spilled that he and Joe McIntyre got along the least during their boy band days, although the pair are good friends now. McIntyre, apparently, also lost his virginity on tour. Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, and Danny Wood were also members of the Boston-based boy band.

Asked whether they knew that Knight was gay during that time, he revealed, “We were suspicious when we walked into a hotel room and saw him with a guy.”

He continued, “But, look, he was dating Tiffany too, so who knew?”

Wahlberg also dishes on which guy hooked up the most, was the biggest diva and had the worst hygiene in addition to what song they got tired of performing.

The boy bands took over the plaza in New York City on Friday! New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys were welcomed by screaming fans as they performed their big hits from the ’90s and early ’2000s on the TODAY show!

NKOTB came out first, dressed in fancy matching military-esque costumes. The group went with an audience favorite, performing “The Right Stuff.” Up next was BSB!

Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, A. J. McLean and Howie Dorough sang their hit “Larger Than Life.” The boy bands, who now call themselves NKOTBSB, are currently on a national tour through July 15. 

In other New Kid news, Joey McIntyre added a little member to his brood this week! The singer and his wife Barrett welcomed a baby girl on Tuesday. “Kira Katherine McIntyre was born May 31st at 12:30 pm PST. 7 lbs., 3 oz., 21 in. A beautiful baby girl with great timing and gorgeous hair,” McIntyre Tweeted.

Before Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers, it was the Backstreet Boys and the New Kids on the Block that were making the ladies swoon.

Not only have they combined their star power for an American tour — but they released an original track together! The song popped up on Billboard this morning and it’s called “Don’t Turn Off the Lights.” In addition to their wildly popular tour, the boy bands have also made headlines this year for their personal lives as well.

NKOTB Jonathan Knight revealed in January that he was gay after teen star Tiffany said she dated a New Kid in the 90s that turned out to be a homosexual. “I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact that I am gay!” Knight said in a statement.

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this year that BSB member AJ McLean entered rehab as well as Nick Carter‘s younger brother Aaron Carter.

The Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block ushered in the return of the boy bands with an epic joint performance on Sunday night’s American Music Awards.

The two groups shared the stage with mash-ups of their biggest hits to prepare rabid NKOTB and BSB fans for their sure-to-be-dreamy joint tour together next summer.

The two bands performed a medley of NKOTB’s “Step by Step” and “You’ve Got It (The Right Stuff)” with BSB’s “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” “I Want It That Way” and “Larger Than Life.”

Last year New Kids on the Block fans rejoiced after hearing news they probably never thought would come—that the seminal boy band were reuniting after 14 years for a new album and a world tour.

In September, NKOTB released their latest LP The Block and kicked off their New Kids on the Block: Live world tour, featuring Natasha Bedingfield and fashionable chart topper Lady GaGa as opening acts on their American dates.

But while the international leg of the tour was originally slated to end on February 5 in Dusseldorf, Germany, the band have announced 13 more North American dates for spring.

Celebuzz has learned exclusively from the band that the next round in the tour will hit cities in Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, California and Canada.

A full decade before *NSync and the Backstreet Boys struck pop gold, Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood racked up 80 million record sales worldwide throughout the late ’80s and early ’90s.

They hit the top of the U.S. album chart twice, and conquered the Billboard Hot 100 three times, with “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever),” “Hangin’ Tough” and “Step By Step.”
