Bridget Jones ate ice cream during her moment of need. Beyonce Knowles does crawfish.

The embattled 31-year-old singer, who will be performing during halftime at the Super Bowl next month, bobbed up after the supposed-so-scandalous president’s inauguration for dinner with husband, Jay-Z.

The pair got the First Family treatment in New Orleans at Mother’s on Monday night; the restaurant has confirmed security was just as tight as the moment President Barack Obama was sworn in at his second inauguration — and where Beyoncé lip-synced when she sang the national anthem.

“They came in with their security people,” a rep for the restaurant, Charles Pizzo, told Celebuzz.

“A lot of people recognized them so we put them in a private part so they could eat in peace. We had a policeman stationed at the door so the area was off limits.”

What was on the menu? Cajun cooking, of course.

“They ordered two bowls of crawfish e’touffee,” Pizzo added. “Beyonce had fried catfish and Jay-Z had the calamari. They also shared some sides of potato salad, grits and French fries. It’s comfort food.”

The new mom, who’s in town to rehearse for her big Super Bowl debut, clearly deserved the “comfort” slip-up, especially after photos of the svelte superstar on the cover of the February GQ leaked on Instagram.

But if this southern feast wasn’t enough, the couple left with their just desserts.

“They took home a slice of sweet potato pie and an order of bread pudding with brandy sauce,” Pizzo said of the famous pair, who posted their sweet satisfaction for the eatery.

The tip?

All Pizzo would tell us was that the couple was “extremely good.”

Sandra Bullock showed off her big heart when she helped open the Warren Easton Charter High School Health Clinic in New Orleans on Sunday.

The 46-year-old actress, who is currently residing in the Big Easy, cut the ribbon for the clinic on the five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The original school and clinic was destroyed during the infamous hurricane.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star remained tight-lipped about her allegiances in a post on her official Web site, after the New Orleans Saints—for whom her boyfriend, Reggie Bush, plays—secured a spot in the game.

Offering few clues, the cagey reality-TV personality wrote,

“I really can’t believe I am writing this post! The New Orleans Saints are going to the Super Bowl!!! Reggie deserves this, the team deserves this and the town of New Orleans deserves this! I could not be more proud! Super Bowl baby!”

Oh, Kim; why must you always be so mysterious?

The people have spoken, and they want Brad Pitt to lead them!

At least, the people of New Orleans, anyway.

MSNBC reports that a movement is building to recruit the Inglourious Basterds star into the 2010 New Orleans mayoral race, going so far as to print up T-shirts with the actor’s likeness and the slogan “Brad Pitt for Mayor.” (Pitt has no made secret of his fondness for the Crescent City, having lived in New Orleans for a while and contributing significantly to the Lower Ninth Ward’s post-Katrina rebuilding with his Make It Right Foundation.)

Transformers babe Megan Fox hit up the Big Easy on Friday, arriving on the New Orleans set of her upcoming film Jonah Hex to get prettified in the make-up trailer.

The comic-book adaptation co-stars Josh Brolin in the title role of a Wild West bounty hunter tracking a voodoo baddie who wants to liberate the South by assembling an army of the undead. Fox plays Leila a prostitute that Hex rescues from a brothel.

The film, which also stars Will Arnett and John Malkovich, is slated for an August 6, 2010 release.

Pop music’s reigning comeback queen Britney Spears took to the stage for her first tour in five years on Tuesday at the New Orleans Arena, and now we have photos from the concert!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were in their home-away-from-home New Orleans last night to attend a special screening of Pitt’s latest flick, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Jolie, 33, rocked a white dress by Scott L’Wren for the occasion. Pitt made the scene in a three-piece Tom Ford suit, accessorized by a sweet, sweet ‘stache.

The film, directed by David Fincher and written by Eric Roth (whose credits include Forrest Gump), stars 45-year-old Pitt as a man born in his 80s who ages backward, with sexy and confounding results. Based on a 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the movie is set in New Orleans.

“This [movie] is like a love letter to New Orleans, from beginning to end,” Pitt told reporters last night.

Maybe so, but that love letter comes with a hefty C.O.D. charge; Louisiana taxpayers chipped in $27 million for the film’s budget, thanks to a state law. Maybe Pitt can dip into his furniture budget and flow some of that scratch back to the people.

Seriously though, Pitts efforts to help rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and love for that city are well-known and producing results.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button opens on December 25.

Just over three years ago, the state of Lousiana was dealt with $81.2 billion in damages when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and flooded 80 percent of the city.

And now, according to the New York Times, Louisiana has shelled out more than $27 million in tax money to the upcoming Brad Pitt movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

“Residents are financing a hefty share of Brad Pitt’s next movie—$27,117,737, to be exact, which the producers will receive by cashing or selling off valuable tax credits,” reports the Times.

Opinions differ as to whether the production of Button has generated any money for the state.

“All areas of the state have prospered as a result; everyone sees it,” said Sherri McConnell, director of Louisiana’s Office of Entertainment Industry Development.

“There’s no way you can say this makes money for the public,” counters Greg Albrecht, chief economist for Louisiana’s legislative fiscal office.

And while Pitt and his wife Angelina Jolie have professed their love of New Orleans’ French Quarter, local taxpayers may be fighting mad when they hear how much bike-pedaling Brad’s latest flick has cost them.

Photographers caught a spectral-looking Angelina Jolie and some of her brood taking a walk around New Orleans’ French Quarter yesterday.

Brad Pitt, Angie and the fam have returned to their old stomping grounds of New Orleans after a whirlwind weekend in New York City for the premiere of Angelina’s Changeling flick.

Jolie, accompanied by kids Zahara, Pax and Shiloh (plus two bodyguards) stopped at Verdi Mart with the kids.

It’s been reported that the gorgeous and motherly Angelina has been suffering the effects of post-partum depression since giving birth to twins Knox and Vivienne in July.

It also appears as though she’s still feeling down, judging by the long black dress, pale skin and huge sunglasses. Do chains and a headstone come with that outfit?

Hopefully some time with the kids will pull her out of her funk and get her to stop dressing like an unearthly specter when she’s not on the red carpet.
