Liam Payne may have just broken up with his girlfriend, Danielle Peazer, but it’s fellow bandmate Zayn Malik that he’s worried about.

“The only person I really worry about is Zayn, because I don’t think he’s quite accustomed to all of this. He’s had a terrible time on Twitter, as did Danielle,” Payne, 19, told The Sun. In August, Malik, 19, quit Twitter, citing “all the useless opinions and hate” as the reason for his departure.

Within 48 hours, the teen reactivated his Twitter account, but according to his bandmate, he’s still adjusting to the public exposure.

“I don’t think he’s quite adjusted to it yet, I’m sure he’ll get it,” Payne said. “He’s my best mate. I’ve got to look out for him.”

The members of One Direction are no strangers to online hate. Over the last year, Payne and Louis Tomlinson’s girlfriends Peazer and Eleanor Calder, respectively, have both endured their share of Twitter abuse.

Early reports of Payne and Peazer’s split alleged that hurtful Twitter messages from One Direction fans were partially to blame for the breakup.

In June, Payne tweeted a series of messages in defense Peazer, who has been charged by some fans with only dating the singer because he is famous.

“Just as I start to like Twitter again I see the nasty side of people who like to dislike somebody who makes me … Me,” the 18-year-old wrote. He added: “”#SometimesIHateTwitter when it becomes a place to abuse people who uve never met never did anything to you but you still choose to be cruel (sic).”

“To all those people who are going to be d**ks and tweet her horrible stuff now just because i mentioned it … boring grow up.”

The boys of One Direction aren’t the only celebrities reeling from cyber bullies. Singer LeAnn Rimes checked herself into a 30-day inpatient facility to combat anxiety and stress after a group of Twitter users harassed her on a daily basis.
