The 2013 CMT Music Awards are underway!

Some of country music and Hollywood’s biggest names — including Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Kevin Bacon – put on their fancy dresses and jackets on Wednesday for the star studded show, held at the Bridgestone Arena.

Miranda Lambert, Eric Church and Luke Bryan are all up for four awards, while Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney and show co-host Jason Aldean are nominated for three trophies.

Swift and Underwood are each up for two, including Video of the Year for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “Blown Away,” respectively.

The show, hosted by Kristen Bell and Jason Aldean, airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CMT.

Forget about all the amazing films at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Let’s talk about Nicole Kidman.

Since the beginning of the festival more than one week ago, the actress and Cannes jury member has been on nearly every best dressed list, thanks to gowns by Dior, Calvin Klein, L’wren and Valentino.

Saturday’s premiere of Roman Polanski’s big screen adaptation of Venus in Fur was no different, as Kidman stopped red carpet traffic with a satin Chanel Resort 2014 dress, complete with black and white ruffle detailing.

The 45-year-old finished off her look with red pumps and a chic up do.

Grace Kelly would be proud.

Nicole Kidman was every bit of picture perfect at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday. The glamorous actress donned an off-white gown from Valentino’s Spring 2013 Couture line as she hit the red carpet for the premiere of Alexander Payne’s new film Nebraska.

Other Cannes sightings include Alessandra Ambrosio dropping by Roberto Cavalli’s boat party and Jessica Chastain sparkling in a purple dress for the premiere of All Is Lost.

Over in London, Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith talked about their new film After Earth inside the BBC Radio One Studio, a newly-single Ian Somerhalder enjoyed a stylish night out while Channing Tatum’s pregnant wife Jenna Dewan headed to a doctor’s appointment.

Stateside, Michelle Rodriguez got all dolled up for a Fast & Furious 6 press event in New York City, Nicki Minaj got into character on the set of The Other Woman and Jessica Biel took her dogs out for a walk around the Tribeca neighborhood of the Big Apple.

There has been a lot of great style hitting the Cannes red carpet this year, and some of the looks have been downright sexy. That’s why we’re rounding up the 10 sexiest looks from Cannes… so far.

Britney Spears stepped out in her casual best as she ran errands in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The 31-year-old singer, whose latest song leaked on Friday, was joined by her adorable pet pooch, who donned a pink outfit for the day.

Elsewhere in sunny California, Mark Wahlberg was all smiles on the set of his new film 2 Guns. The actor has been doing reshoots for the new bromance cop film, co-starring Denzel Washington.

On the east coast, Jane Lynch performed in “Annie the Musical” on Broadway, Drake relaxed poolside in Miami and Matt Bomer suited up for USA Network’s Upfronts event in the Big Apple.

At the Cannes Film Festival, Liv Tyler attended a photocall for Magnum while Nicole Kidman and Naomie Harris celebrated all things women and film at a Calvin Klein event.

The 2013 Cannes Film Festival kicks off today in France and already it promises to be one of the most star-studded events in the festival’s 66-year history.

Case in point: Just look at this year’s ridiculous jury, which includes more Oscar winners than the actual Academy Awards ceremony. Such is the case when you hire Steven Spielberg as Jury President.

Nicole Kidman arrived to the 2013 Cannes Film Festival Tuesday afternoon with the style and elegance of a modern-day Grace Kelly. (Which is funny, because she’s about to play her in a movie.)

The 45 year Oscar winner, who is one of the nine people judging this year’s film lineup, looked beautiful in a sparking blue cocktail dress, and was more than willing to pose for photos as she prepared for 10 days of movies. (Wouldn’t you be, too?)

Another day, another set of famous faces spotted on the Anchorman: The Legend Continues set. This time it’s Kirsten Dunst and Jim Carrey.

The film, which will reunite original Anchorman stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate and David Koechner, has been filming a fight scene all week in Atlanta’s Woodruff Park. A nod to the famous fight scene in the first movie, this fight will apparently feature cameos from every single actor in Hollywood. Already this week Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Sacha Baron Cohen and Kanye West have been spotted on set — all dressed as news anchors. It appears that Carrey will also appear as a newscaster, while Dunst looks to be playing an angel who appears on a rooftop nearby.

Yesterday’s shoot was a mini-reunion for Dunst and Carrey, who co-starred in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind together.

Also set to star in the highly anticipated sequel are John C. Reilly, Nicole Kidman, James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Harrison Ford, Will Smith and Liam Neeson. The sheer mass of cameos in Anchorman 2 make it like Hollywood’s version of a high school reunion, reuniting cast members from Mean Girls, Walk Hard, Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock and K-19: The Widowmaker.

Last September, Koechner told Celebuzz exclusively that the movie’s premise centers around the advent of the 24-hour cable news network. The film is expected to hit theaters this December.

Nerd Prom, also known as the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, was more like a glamorous film festival or awards show last night, judging from some of the gorgeous gowns found on the red carpet.

From Kate Mara’s white hot long sleeved Prada number to Jessica Pare’s black-and-blue creation from Antonio Berardi, Hollywood’s finest ladies hit all the right fashion notes at the Washington Hilton.

Nicole Kidman looked like she was ready for a party at Jay Gatsby’s mansion, thanks to a light purple Emilio Pucci dress.

Kerry Washington was also a hit in a print gown by Wes Gordon.

It was the bombshell divorce that rocked Hollywood to its core.

And nobody was more surprised than A-lister Tom Cruise when his ex-wife Katie Holmes decided to call it quits on their five-year marriage.

In a rare interview with German TV network PRO 7, the actor opens up about the headline-making split and how he has moved on.

“I hadn’t expected it,” he told PRO 7 while promoting his new sci-fi film Oblivion in Vienna.

Former Dawson’s Creek star Holmes, 34, filed for divorce from Cruise on June 28, 2012, just five days before the star’s 50th birthday, giving him plenty to ponder about as he hit the milestone.

“Life is a challenge. You are 50 and you think you have everything in order and suddenly it hits you, that’s what life is all about,” Cruise said.

The revealing interview, which was published in Germany’s Bunte Magazine, is just a glimpse inside how the superstar truly coped when the shocking news hit the press.

Cruise and Holmes married in a romantic wedding ceremony at 15th Century Odescalchi Castle in Italy on November 18, 2006, and their daughter Suri Cruise was born in April of that same year.

But their fairytale romance came to an end when Holmes filed for a divorce amid rumors that she was at odds with her husband’s Scientology beliefs.

The couple inked their divorced papers on July 9, 2012 with Cruise reportedly paying $400,000 a year in child support while getting liberal visitation rights to see his daughter.

This was Holmes’s first marriage and the third for Cruise, who was previously married to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two children, Isabella, 20, and Connor, 18.

Now nine months later, the Mission Impossible star — who is reportedly worth $250 million — reveals that humor and throwing himself into filming Oblivion in Iceland helped him get over the heartbreak.

“Life is like a tragic comedy, you need a sense of humor,” said Cruise, who is known to do all his own action stunts.

“I have done white water rafting, I dipped, with the snowmobile on the glaciers, drove around and climbed mountains.”

And despite the intense media speculation surrounding both his private and personal life, Cruise is determined to keep his feet on the ground, while maintaining a good family life and accessibility to his fans.

“Suri, Connor and Isabella have grown up on movie sets — the door is always open for them.

“I don’t have a sheltered life, I want to be in touch with people,” he added.

Cruise’s latest $120 million sci-fi blockbuster, which also stars Olga Kurylenko and Morgan Freeman, opens across America on April 19.

From movie sets to talk show appearances, the last 24 hours have kept Hollywood busy.

Christian Bale was spotted rocking a comb over on the set of David O. Russell’s untitled project. The film, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, marks a reunion for Bale and the filmmaker, who directed the Batman Begins star in 2010’s The Fighter.

Elsewhere on the east coast, Olivia Wilde bundled up in a black coat and matching scarf while out for a walk with friends. The night before, the 28-year-old actress and her fiancé Jason Sudeikis attended the opening night of Broadway’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s, starring Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke.

Drew Barrymorewas also spotted out in New York City. The 38-year-old showed off her spring colors in a black top, floral print pants and bright red shoes as she headed out for the day.

On the west coast, Zoe Saldana donned a cute polka dot sweater while out running errands in L.A. A new trailer for the star’s next film, Star Trek Into Darkness, was released this week. The highly anticipated sequel to J.J. Abrams’ 2009 film, also starring Chris Pine and Benedict Cumberbatch, opens in theaters May 17.

Some of Hollywood’s cutest families were also out and about. Ben Affleck was spotted grabbing a cup o’ Joe with his daughter Seraphina, Sandra Bullock and her son Louis hitched a car ride in Hollywood, while Tiger Woods’ ex Elin Nordegren watched their daughter Sam play soccer in Florida.

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has scored a major legal victory after a Los Angeles judge tossed a lawsuit which alleged the actor hired a private eye-to-the-stars to spy on his ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

Former tabloid magazine editor Michael Davis Sapir had sued 50-year-old Cruise for $5 million, alleging he maintained a “long-standing business relationship” with Anthony Pellicano, a crooked investigator who is now serving 15 years in prison for tapping the phones of Hollywood’s rich and famous.

On Monday, Los Angeles Superior Court Elihu Berle ruled that Sapir’s allegations failed to fall within the statute of limitations.

What does that mean?

Here’s the 411: A statute of limitations is a time period after an event that legal proceedings based on that event may be initiated. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Berle said Sapir should have investigated the Pellicano link in 2003, when he was sentenced to 30 months in prison. But he didn’t — and it took until December, 2009 to file suit.

Unless Sapir appeals the ruling, the sensational claims against the Mission Impossible star will now not be tested in a court of law.

That’s a major relief, no doubt, for Cruise, who has been battling backlash since he split from ex-wife Katie Holmes on June 28 last year.

As Celebuzz previously reported, the allegations against Cruise and and his lawyer, Bert Fields, were detailed in paperwork filed with the L.A. County Superior Court.

“In or about the mid 1990s,” Sapir claimed, “Cruise visited Pellicano’s office for the purpose of listening to wiretaps.”

He alleged: “During the time Cruise was about to divorce Nicole Kidman, Pellicano recorded conversations of Kidman and Cruise. Pellicano discussed with at least one of his employees the substance of those recorded conversations.”

Cruise, according to Sapir, had a “pattern and practice of hiring Pellicano, either directly or indirectly, for the express purpose of conducting wiretaps.”

He claimed Pellicano taped conversations between him and his attorney to gain an advantage for Cruise in slander litigation he’d filed, after the editor offered a $500,000 reward for evidence proving the Top Gun actor was gay.

Cruise sat for a closely guarded deposition in the case before Christmas.

Ah, the princess life.

Fans of Nicole Kidman and Grace Kelly were treated to new stills from the biopic Grace of Monaco this week. The images come just days after The Weinstein Company wrapped a deal to acquire the film over Oscar weekend, according to Deadline.

The picture will tell the story of how the famous princess transitioned from Hollywood to royalty during the ‘60s. Tim Roth plays Prince Rainier III. Milo Ventimiglia, Parker Posey and Frank Langella also star in the movie.

During a recent interview with Collider, Kidman, 45, talked about the “trepidation and fear” involved in playing the iconic figure.

“I watched a lot of her movies, I watched a lot of footage on her. There’s home videos and stuff like that,” she said.

“You have access to her, she’s sort of, even though she was from another era, she’s still so present.”

Keith Urban’s got one of the best support systems in the world — and her name is Nicole Kidman.

According to the country superstar’s pastor in Nashville, Urban’s relationship with his wife of nearly seven years has served as a rock for the “Better Life” singer, whose past includes addiction to cocaine and alcohol — and three stints in rehab.

“As an observer, I would say his faith is a strength,” Father Ed Steiner of The Cathedral of Incarnation exclusively told Celebuzz. “And as an observer, I would say Nicole’s faith has an influence on him as well — because he madly loves her.”

And they’re not afraid to show it in public.

“If I were to hear that they were breaking up, I think I would just have to give up my job,” Steiner said. “You know I’ve been doing this for 30 years, it’s the whole body language thing you just see it. Their body language suggests that they are a man and woman madly in love. The way you see them talk about the children . . . just to see them strolling about the campus they are like a couple that are clicking — it’s obvious.”

The pastor is also convinced that Kidman, 45, is much better off with Urban than her ex-husband Tom Cruise– a marriage Steiner thinks was destined to fail because of their wildly different religious beliefs.

“They don’t mix [Scientology and Catholicism]. They don’t mix. She’s a very passionate Catholic . . . I only know this from reports, not from them, that when they got married it was clear she was Catholic. The agreement going into marriages with him was ‘you do your thing, I’ll do mine.’”

However, Stenier admits that the Paperboy actress does not speak much about Cruise.

“My experience of Nicole and Keith is they’re not going to say anything ill of anyone else, even if they want to and even if they’re angry. They’re so content with who they are as people, that they’re not caught up in their own stardom.”

Kidman does, however, gush about her love for all four children — including her adopted kids with Cruise, Isabella and Connor. With Urban, the actress has two daughters Sunday Rose, 4, and 23-month-old Faith Margaret, who was born via a surrogate.

“Without betraying any confidences, she’s a happy mother. Very happy mother,” according to Steiner. “Like any parent, whether they are natural parents or adoptive parents, those are her children. No matter what happens, she’s always going to be their mother, even if she never acts in another movie.”

In fact, Kidman is currently busy trying to organize Faith Margaret’s baptism, but busy schedules have so far made it hard.

“It hasn’t happened yet, we’ve tried, but somebody couldn’t get here, somebody was sick, the baby was sick — sometimes it’s just difficult to strategize. Finding the time when they’re both in town and both sets of parents can get here at the same time, that’s a challenge,” Steiner said.

One thing that really impresses Father Steiner is how well disciplined little Sunday Rose is when she attends church.

“I don’t like the word strict — I would say they are parents that are teaching their children very properly. They set an example. It’s not lost on anybody.”

Urban, also 45, is a very hands-on dad and makes sure he gets to know everyone who interacts with Sunday Rose.

“At the times when they’ve had to take their daughter to the church nursery, Keith is not the type of father who just drops his daughter off. He visits with all our sitters, he visits with the religious Ed teachers. He interacts with other people’s children in a very, very positive way. What I’ve really experienced from him is what a loving father he is. Not too many fathers are as expressive in their love for their children as is he,” Father Steiner said.

When they’re not on set, the couple makes Nashville their home for several weeks at a time — attending church every Sunday.

“My experience of them is, if they are in town then they are at church,” said Steiner. “They clearly both take their faith very seriously.”

“[Nashville is] their home, there’s no doubt. I mean this is where they live. But their hearts will always be in Australia, that’s where their families are, that’s where they were raised. I suspect as with anybody that can do it they are going to be in both places for the rest of their lives.”

Nicole Kidman, Carly Rae Jepsen and Florence Welch’s gowns weren’t the only things sparkling on the red carpet at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Along with this year’s more glamorous fashion came a whole lot of bling.

Though Carrie Underwood decked out her neckline in diamonds, necklaces were few and far between, with the majority of baubles located further north or south.

Glittery rings (either a single eye-catching cocktail ring or a series of stunners), bedazzled bracelets (from stacks of bangles to bold cuffs), and dazzling danglers were the night’s big jewelry trends.

She may have played it safe in the fashion department, but leave it to Rihanna to go all out with her bling.

The performer turned heads for more than just her red-hot ensemble — her Neil Lane jewels clocked in at over $2 million.

With such eye-catching extras, stars kept the rest of their accents relatively subdued, sticking to simple metallic clutches. Shoes, on the other hand, offered a bit more pizzazz. Pointy-toe pumps were certainly the most popular style, but Adele and Solange Knowles managed to add some flair to the classic heel. Meanwhile Jennifer Lopez and Kat Von D finished off their looks with fancier footwear.

The SAG Awards may have been the week’s big red carpet fashion event, but it was far from the only one. Sure, the awards show lineup is intense, but Tinseltown’s trendsetters aren’t slacking on style between award shows.

The red carpet never rests in Hollywood, and this week it was rolled out for a fresh batch of movie premieres, from Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters to Warm Bodies.

Even New York’s famous faces refused to let the big chill put a damper on their style. And while it wasn’t nearly as cold on the West Coast, Aussies Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett headed down under, where spring’s big trends didn’t seem out of place in the summer weather.
