Opening up about the media mogul, he gushed about his dream of teaching her to salsa and jive.

“I would do my best to teach her some dance moves. I’m a huge fan, and I admire her,” the 26-year-old dancer told Celebuzz at the Dr. Scholl’s “Get Up & Go!” Event in NYC.

So does he think Oprah could win the Mirror Ball trophy?

“She has what it takes to be humble and learn the moves. She has the drive to be successful. Those are the qualities I’d want in a partner,” Chmerkovskiy said, adding that she’d likely make it to the end.

“Someone as successful as her wouldn’t be where she is, if she didn’t have good work ethic… I don’t need a supermodel, or athlete. I just want someone who has the desire to do well and put in the work,” the sexy dancing pro added.

In promotion of his new book Your Passport to Success, Stedman sat down with TODAY show’s Matt Lauer and gushed over his gal, calling her “special” and referring to her as the “greatest” person. 

“I’m very fortunate to be able to have that opportunity and to learn so much from her. What I’ve learned from her throughout the years is that she’s a thinker. She understands the process of success.”

He adds, “So it’s nice to have been around someone for all these years.”

Matt touched on Oprah leaving her show to start her own network OWN that has not done as well as expected. Stedman responded, “Well, first year should be tough. If you’ve been working on a show for 25 years, you’ve been number one and you’re starting off with the first year in developing OWN, it should be tough. You have to reorganize. … Every year it gets better and better and better and better. That’s part of the process.”

Celebuzz got a chance to talk to the hilarious actress about the third season of Childrens Hospital, her work on Party Down, and how she feels about her husband (and Parks & Recreation mustachioed stud) Nick Offerman gunning for Oprah to play his first wife on his hit NBC show.

Childrens Hospital plays off of a lot of other medical shows – were you a fan of medical dramas before you started the show?

Yeah, I don’t watch any. I watched ER when it was at its peak of success. But no, I’m not a medical drama person…I don’t like them. It kinda grosses me out or something [laughs].

That’s funny, because I interviewed Rob Corddry last week and he also said that he wasn’t into medical dramas at all when he started the show.

Well, I’ve seen enough episodes of those shows to send them up, but I don’t watch them on a regular basis.

You guys also have a lot of great guest stars coming through the show – are there any dream guest stars that you’d like to work with?

Oh, yeah! Catherine O’Hara, she can play my sister [laughs]. There are so many people… I think that something that is really noteworthy is that there is this whole big far-reaching circle of people who do comedy in Los Angeles. A lot of the Upright Citizens Brigade people moved to Los Angeles in the last couple of years and it turned everything around for comedy in Los Angeles. There is this influx of new people with innovative ideas and that is part of the reason that Childrens Hospital has come together in the way it has.

It’s really interesting, there is this big network of comedy people. I’d say that it is overall really supportive and collaborative; everybody wants to work with everybody else. There is no exclusivity about it, if you’re funny and you’re a nice person you’re in!  So that’s what’s been really great, that extends to Parks & Recreation, that whole group, and certainly Amy Poehler and Aubrey Plaza and all of those people, those are New York transplants. The whole Party Down group is included in that too. So it is definitely really great!

There has definitely been a lot of crossover between shows – especially Parks & Recreation, Party Down and Childrens Hospital. Have you found any difference working for a more off-beat comedy like Childrens Hospital and Party Down as opposed to a traditional network sit-com?

Maybe there is more a cool factor for shows like Childrens Hospital that are so off the beaten path that it gives you the impression that you are the only person who has discovered it. So that is appealing to audiences I think. It’s funny that this show has done so well, because it is on this network that people aren’t particularly familiar (Adult Swim). I didn’t know much about it. I had heard about it but that was it, I didn’t know that it was the nighttime version of Cartoon Network and I didn’t know that they take a lot of risks on that network and they’re really innovative, they do it their way.

It’s great too, it’s great from a producing standpoint because there is no interference from the network. On shows like Childrens Hospital and Party Down, I don’t think we get like any network notes from Adult Swim and we got a few on Starz. That’s kind of freeing too, it becomes more of a hotbed of creativity when you have the freedom to be innovative. Some of the episodes of Childrens this season, there is something really groundbreaking about some of them because I haven’t seen anything done like that on television. Just conceptually and technically, the look of the show and the way it is shot. Content-wise, all of the episodes are just jokes, but I think conceptually what they are doing with the show is pretty innovative.

Does it feel liberating as an actress to play a character like The Chief who is so, well, gross? Everyone wants her but she is literally falling apart.

That is the joke, she is the most disgusting person on earth but everyone wants to f**k her. Every year I try to think of how to get grosser and grosser – now I’m up to, I walk on a walker, I have a hunchback, I have a traveling mole, I can’t wear any makeup, I wear giant glasses and I wear man’s wig. Where do you go from there, I’m not sure [laughs]. I got really mad because they are doing this other show on Adult Swim where a female character wears an eye-patch and smokes a pipe, and I was like, ‘Damn! Why didn’t I think of that?’ So if you have any suggestions, I’m open to them.

I can’t think of that many other actresses who would [play a gross character]. I guess Catherine O’Hara would do it. I mean, Laura Linney has done stuff without makeup, but she is on John Adams which is on HBO, with like 20 Emmys, but you know, this is comedy.

Going into Parks & Recreation your husband Nick Offerman (who plays Ron Swanson on the show) recently said that he thought Oprah should play his first wife, Tammy 1, because she is the only person who could intimidate you. Do you agree with that?

Yeah, I totally agree with that. That pitch actually came from a friend of mine I have known since first grade. Nick and I were in Oklahoma City, and we were having dinner with this guy and he said ‘What about Oprah?’ and Nick and I were like, ‘Yes. What about Oprah, what about Oprah.’ So we pitched that to [NBC] really hard but I don’t think….I think they have to go somewhere in a realm that would be…I don’t know, I don’t know what they are thinking. I don’t think Oprah turned it down, but I think they are trying to be a little more realistic [laughs].

Aside from Oprah, are there any other women that you’d like to see play Tammy 1?

We were pitching a lot of people, we were pitching Helen Mirren, Rosie O’Donnell, Roseanne Barr. We tried to think of people that were intimidating but funny too. What do you think?

I think Helen Mirren would be pretty good.

She would be so good! I like the idea that she is a little older. Ron likes the older ladies.

She signed off by leaving her fans an email address (oprah@oprah.com) and promised to read as many as possible, adding: 

“I want you to know that what you have to say matters to me.”

After all was said and done, she just couldn’t bring herself to say goodbye:

“I won’t say goodbye, I’ll just say, until we meet again.”

Meanwhile, new reports say Oprah’s final guest for her very last show tomorrow has been revealed.

Supposedly, the very last person to share the stage with the daytime diva will be … Oprah!

“This is my love letter to you,” Access Hollywood quotes her telling the star-filled audience (famous pals such as Tyler Perry, Maria Shriver, and Gayle King have been with her all week).

Another audience member told the Associated Press: 

“It was just her the whole time, a recap of what she believed in, what we’ve given her as viewers and what she hopes she has given us.”

Though, according to the list, Oprah made $290 million while Gaga grossed $90 million, Forbes says the artist’s influence spans over a wide range of areas. Forbes calls out the fact that Gaga has “32 million Facebook fans and 10 million Twitter followers–aka Little Monsters–who helped move 1 million digital downloads of her recent single ‘Born This Way’ in only five days.”

So where did teen heartthrob Justin Bieber rank on this list?

The Biebs came in at No. 3 which isn’t anything to turn a nose up at! At 17, the musician has grossed $53 million over the last 12 months. In addition to his YouTube video for “Baby” having over 500 million views, Bieber had a 3D documentary, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, come out that has made $100 million in counting. Now the pop star is currently on a worldwide tour.

Bieber is so popular that he beat out the likes of music alums U2 and Elton John who rounded out the top five list of the most powerful celebrities.  Another young celeb to make it into the top 10 was country crooner Taylor Swift. The singer pulled in a whopping $45 million and is No. 6 in the web ranking. 

Oprah, who’s retiring her show after 25 years, was joined by a long list of celebrities including Beyonce, Madonna, Maria Shriver and Tom Cruise, who were all there to bid her farewell.

Although most of the show’s content is still under wraps, several tidbits have been leaked. So what can we expect from the star-studded event?

- Oprah’s charity work was showcased, as celebrities reflected on her influence. “She fights for things she believes in, even if it makes her unpopular,” Madonna said. “You always had the power, and that is the message you brought into our lives,” said Tom Cruise — who thankfully did not jump on the couch.

- Performances by: Jamie Foxx, Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, Patti LaBelle, Beyonce and Rosie O’Donnell.

- Jerry Seinfeld reportedly gave a short stand up routine.

- Maria Shriver bravely attended the farewell show — on the same day it was revealed that her husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, had fathered a child with a woman. Although that topic wasn’t discussed, Maria let Oprah know what a great friend she had been through the years. “You have given me love, support, wisdom and most of all the truth,” Shriver told Winfrey.

According to reports, Winfrey will discuss on her show today how her mother had another child named Patricia, who was put up for adoption at an early age in 1963. Winfrey’s mother never told Oprah about the other sibling, as Winfrey–who was 9 years old at the time–was living with her father.

The AP is reporting that in 2007, Patricia found out that Winfrey was her half-sister, and Oprah found out in November about Patricia. They then met for the first time on Thanksgiving. Oprah, Patricia and the mother will all be on Monday’s show, which is themed around reunions. You have not one but two shows on Oprah’s new network. You must be pinching yourself.

I’m pinching myself, my assistant’s pinching me, I’m having people pinch me all over town. I love being pinched. I love to talk about my shows like crazy. Start your tape recorder because I never shut up!

Done and done. Your OWN Show is the search for the next big talk show host.  The show is executive produced by Mark Burnett, the man behind Survivor and The Apprentice, but how is it different from the other reality competitions out there?

Everyone’s like, ‘How’s it different?’ Um, they get to work with Oprah! They’re not just getting a show on Food Network, they get to work with Oprah!  She’s on the show some of the time. I get to have moments where I’m like, ‘Oprah, sit right over here, thank you so much!’ Basically, there were 20,000 videos uploaded from applicants and we brought the Top 10 to vy for their own show. Every week they’ll have their challenges – producing a makeover show, interviewing a celebrity, all the things that they’re going to have to do if they become a TV star on the network.

So did you find the next Oprah?

I don’t know if there will ever be the next Oprah because she’s such a one of a kind and was such a pioneer but we definitely did find a great new TV star. All 10 of them were amazing. I was worried it was going to get like a Florida election, but we found a great winner.

Working with Oprah, do you ever give her style tips?

I just started working with her so I don’t give her too many fashion tips. I would never go, ‘You’re not going to wear that, are you?’ But we did get to spend a lot of time on the set of Your OWN Show and it was fun getting to see her different outfits and her jewelry was pretty awesome. When you get to sit right next to her, you get a close look.

You’re also filming Carson Nation, in which you will make over the country one small town at a time.  Where do you even begin?

I pick all the towns and cities by randomly throwing a dart at a map of the United States… over my shoulder. I wanted to do this in small town America because that’s where I’m from. I’m from Allentown, Pennsylvania. I want to show people that you don’t have to live in Paris or New York or Los Angeles to have access to style. It’s very democratic nowadays. You can get great things almost anywhere.

What can you tell us about the journey thus far?

It’s kind of like a makeover roadtrip across America. It’s me driving a big trailer outfitted with all kinds of makeover magic. We’re making people over, giving them their dream weddings, renovating their houses, doing whatever we can to inject some style into their life. We’re actually going to try to enlist the help of local resources, like teaching the person in the small town how to give great highlights so that when we leave, their community actually will have cuter hair. So everyone wins! It’s not just one person. We’re trying to make over the whole town.

If you were really ruling over a Carson Nation, what would you have us all wearing?

I would like to think we’d all be in beautiful tailored clothing that was made in Italy somewhere but then everyone would look the same and I think the great thing about clothing and fashion is that it allows you to express who you really are. Or who you want to be that day! So I think everybody should look different. In a perfect world, everyone would look different but there probably wouldn’t be any polyester and there wouldn’t be any gauchos. I just don’t see the need.

What are you expecting to see from the people you meet on Carson Nation?

One thing with Queer Eye, I was shocked at how welcoming people were.  I thought it would be like, ‘Ew here’s that gay guy’ but instead it was like, ‘The gay guys are here, thank god!’ I’m hoping it will be the same and it won’t be like Too Wong Foo and they try to run me out of Dodge.

Beyonce Knowles was the only musician to crack the list’s top 10 by earning $87 million, but Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift all made the top 20 while at the same time shutting out some big name leading men, who often are the usual suspects for an end-year list like this.

Holding down the last spot is Judge Judy, whose monetary success is equal to Taylor’s at $45 million.

Few athletes can have as poor a year as Tiger Woods and still remain relevant, but he’s done that and more, raking in $105 million in 2010.

Back in 2004, Oprah’s “Everybody gets a car!” episode ended in a nightmare after each “lucky” audience member was required to shuck out $7,000 of their own money for taxes on their new ride.

This time Larry Edema, an audience member who’ll make the trip to Australia, tells TMZ that Oprah had a certified public accountant offstage who handled the tax issue immediately.

Also included in the Oprah special: sightseeing costs and travel-related expenses like passport fees.

According to reports, Oprah will announce on Monday that shes’s flying her studio audience Down Under in celebration of her 25th – and final – season. Considering it’s supposed to be a surprise, there’s no mention of the big reveal on her show website, where she only says: “This is my last chance to do something really big.”

If the rumors are true, the Big O is certainly going out with a bang! She’ll also be chatting with her dear friend, John Travolta.

The Top Gun actor returned once again to the stage of Oprah—where he famously jumped up and down while professing his love for Katie Holmes—on Friday, and we’re happy to report that there was no such hopping around this time. Instead, Cruise and host Oprah Winfrey spent their time discussing a very important topic: His four-year-old daughter with Holmes, Suri Cruise. Specifically, her inimitable sense of style, ill-considered high heels included.

So how are Tom and Katie helping to mold little Suri into a considerate, responsible human being? Basically, they let her do whatever her little heart desires:

“She likes to dress herself and wears whatever she wants to wear…She wants to wear it, she wears it…a girl wants to wear what she wants to wear. I’m not gonna tell her different. She’s got great taste.”

Good call, Tom. Because that won’t lead to problems down the road at all.
