McDreamy is dipping his toes in the coffee business world.

On Friday, Patrick Dempsey and his company Global Baristas were approved to buy Seattle-based coffee company Tully’s, which filed for bankruptcy in October 2012.

The approval comes just days after Dempsey’s camp won an auction against coffee giant Starbucks and five other bidders. But the original victory had to be reconsidered by a judge after Starbucks’ bidding partner filed an objection, according to the Associated Press.

“I’ve been deeply humbled by the outpouring of support from the city of Seattle and am very proud to be a new business owner in this amazing city,” the Grey’s Anatomy actor said in a statement.

“We have a lot to accomplish over the next few months and years, and I am excited to now call Seattle my second home.”

Dempsey and his company will purchase Tully’s for $9.2 million.

Tully’s, which has been around since 1992, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy some three months ago, leaving the future of more than 500 employees up for grabs.

Dempsey and Global Baristas will now have full control of Tully’s 47 locations in the Seattle area. Incidentally, his hit ABC series is set in the rainy city.

“We won !!! We won !!! Thank you Seattle ! See you soon!” the actor wrote on Twitter following Friday’s victory.

“It’s 2 in the morning just got home, 15 hour work day, what a day ! This one I will never forget ! Good night,” he later added.

On this episode of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, directed by star Kevin McKidd, we finally began moving forward from the terror and trauma of the airplane crash.

After watching people die, lose limbs, go temporarily insane and suffer in other ways, it was nice to have an episode that felt somewhat normal. We were back to the daily drama of the surgeons dealing with difficult patients, mixed with some humor and a whole lot of, well, sex. Like I said: back to normal.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy, “I Saw Her Standing There.”

You know, I can’t say that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) has always been my favorite character on this show. In fact, I know for a fact that there have been plenty of times over the past nine seasons where she has driven me downright crazy. But on the most recent few seasons I have fallen in love with her story, and tonight we met a new Meredith.

This new chick is a badass and I dig it. I am amazed at how far she’s come since the neurotic girl we saw on Season 1, and every week I find myself looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen with her next.

Another story I enjoyed on tonight’s episode was Arizona’s (Jessica Capshaw). After watching three episodes where I alternately wanted to scream at her or smack her, Arizona finally got to a place where she accepted what had happened in the crash. The scene at the end where she actually looked at her leg and confronted the damage was great. I know that wasn’t easy for her and, I’m not gonna lie, it made me tear up a little. I’m so happy to see that she and Callie (Sara Ramirez) are on the mend.

One story that I didn’t like so much in the beginning of the episode was Cristina’s (Sandra Oh).

I know she’s always been pretty much a cold fish, but I just couldn’t understand the flippant way she discussed her new “sex friend” with Meredith. Sure, Owen (Kevin McKidd) cheated on her and they’re not exactly together right now, but it still felt like she was doing it to get back at him. Trouble is, Owen didn’t do it the way she did. He slept with one person one time because he was upset and drunk. The only thing that redeemed her story for me was the development of her friendship with Dr. Thomas (William Daniels). I’ll admit that surprised me a little bit and I’m curious to see where that goes.

Avery (Jesse Williams) and Kepner (Sarah Drew) continuing to sleep together, while promising that each time would be their last, provided a few laughs. As did Bailey’s (Chandra Wilson) attempts to steal surgeries and all of her wacky jokes in the operating room. I never thought I’d see the day when Meredith was the one acting tough and Bailey was the one acting funny, but yet here we are.

We may not have seen much of Karev (Justin Chambers) in this one, but when he did show up, he definitely made a difference. From his priceless reaction to the guy with the swollen testicle, to his quiet and earnest conversations with Arizona, Karev managed to do a lot in very little time.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Arizona falling down, her leg falling off and Karev catching her just in the nick of time.

Thank you, TV gods.: Arizona pulling that blanket aside and inviting Callie to sit with her to watch a baking show.

Awk-ward: Avery, Kepner, Webber (Richard Pickens Jr.) and Catherine (Debbie Allen) all working in one O.R. together. Yikes.

Hotness: The entire first two minutes of this episode. It was all sex, sex, and more sex.

Fab-u-lous: I know I’ve already mentioned it, but they keep showing us more bits of Derek and Meredith’s house so I can’t help but to mention it again. I mean come on, did you SEE that kitchen??

Can. Not. Wait.: It’s probably not fair to mention something that I saw in the preview, but the one for the next episode looked amazing and I truly cannot wait to see it.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9. This episode felt like the good old days and I liked it.

The past few episodes of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy have been a bit heavy, to say the least, as the doctors of Seattle Grace deal with the aftermath of last season’s horrific plane crash which took the lives of Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) and Mark Sloan (Eric Dane).

Just in time to keep us from running out of tissues, Thursday’s episode, “I Saw Her Standing There,” which is directed by star Kevin McKidd will take on the much-needed task of lightening the mood.

McKidd, who plays Chief of Surgery Owen Hunt on the drama, told Celebuzz the episode was “pretty light fun.”

“It was fun for me [to direct],” he said, “because I usually do the more dramatic stuff so it was really fun to do some far-out comedic storylines.”

Thursday’s episode features the return of Doctor Catherine Avery (guest star Debbie Allen) who Richard (James Pickens Jr.) calls on to help him with a complicated procedure. Last time we saw Catherine around, she and Richard were sleeping together, much to the chagrin of her son Jackson (Jesse Williams).

We’ll even see the former chief of surgery get a bit spiffy with a new tie when she comes into town.

Meanwhile, Jackson and April (Sarah Drew) will continue going strong and hitting the sheets in the call room and the bedroom. Christina (Sandra Oh) will also find herself attempting to forget her troubles by hooking up with another doctor in Minnesota.

But of course not everything can be light in the world of Grey’s Anatomy.

Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will be weary of talking about her surgeries given Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) current predicament with his hand and Alex (Justin Chambers) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) will face their guilt over Arizona’s (Jessica Capshaw) status as an amputee as she begins to try on prosthetics for her leg.

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 PM on ABC.

Get your tissues ready Grey’s Anatomy fans.

If you thought last week’s Season 9 premiere of the ABC drama was emotional with the death of fan favorite Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), you’ve seen nothing yet. The network has just released a supersized trailer for Season 9 and this Thursday’s return to the crash site is going to be tragic.

Not only that but the trailer features plenty of juicy scenes from upcoming episodes and luckily some of them had us smiling. With our favorite hospital staff’s “biggest challenge to live like there’s no tomorrow” there will be tons of drama ahead.

Here’s six things we learned from the trailer. Note: Spoilers ahead and in the video.

1. While those that saw the commercial for this week after the epic premiere know this, not all fans may be aware that Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) apparently made Callie (Sara Ramirez) promise they wouldn’t take her leg. Obviously, she couldn’t keep this promise and the repercussions for their relationship will be felt throughout the season.

From the looks of these scenes, it was a must-do surgery in an attempt to save her life, so she can’t be mad for too long. Later in the trailer we see Callie shaking Arizona in the shower in an attempt to will her back to her life.

2. Happy News! April (Sarah Drew) is back after Owen (Kevin McKidd) asked her to return to Seattle Grace. AND sometime after her return, Avery (Jesse Williams) asks April (Sarah Drew), “Do you want to get married?” Um WHAT? This news is exciting and crazy!

3. Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) recovery won’t be easy as we saw him unable to perform surgery last week when his hand went numb. Presumably, to help him get over this tragic experience he’ll visit the wreckage of the plane crash which is being tagged in a warehouse.

4. Before Cristina (Sandra Oh) ran away to the Mayo clinic, she was unresponsive to her BFF Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) while recovering. Lying in her hospital bed, understandably angry over the tragic event, she chucks a vase at the window where the interns are watching her.

5. Meredith and Derek will celebrate their second chance at life by having sex… and lots of it.

6. Dr. Weber (James Pickes, Jr.) may not be the chief any longer but he still gives the best advice. He tells Bailey (Chandra Wilson), “Do something and don’t look back.”

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 9 PM on ABC.

“The babies were born a few weeks early, but are in good health and both Mom and Dad are overjoyed,” said a joint statement from their reps on Wednesday.

Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey used some of his skills he has learned on the ABC hit show in real life!

TMZ reports Patrick came to the rescue of a teenage driver, who crashed his car in Malibu right in front of the actor’s home Tuesday around 5pm.

Apparently a young driver lost control of his Mustang and the car flipped repeatedly, crashing into the actor’s front yard. Dempsey ran out of his house to the car with a crowbar in hand and successfully pulled the boy out of the car. The car was totaled and there were no injuries luckily.

It was a starry night in New York City Tuesday for the Transformers: Dark of the Moon premiere. Rosie Huntington Whiteley held it down in a strapless red dress, but the guys looked just as dapper as they walked the red carpet.

Shia LaBeouf- who made headlines today for revealing he did hook up with Megan Fox while filming- looked smoldering in a gray suit. And it looks like the guys color coordinated!

Josh Duhamel and Tyrese also rocked a a similar look wearing gray with a white shirt underneath.

Grey’s Anatomy hottie Patrick Dempsey is living up to his nickname of “McDreamy.”

Dempsey lost his shirt as he hit the beaches of Hawaii with his wife Jillian and their family. The couple has twin boys, 4, Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen, and another daughter Talula Fyfe, 9. 

Dempsey isn’t the only hot dad out and about this week!

Owen Wilson was spotted with his newborn Robert Ford Wilson, also in Hawaii. The two played in the sand and took a stroll together for a little father-son bonding time. Although he’s only three months old, RFW is already a jet setter — arriving via private plane. This trip marks a return to the islands, as he was born in Hawaii on January 14, 2011.

Meanwhile, new dad Orlando Bloom can’t escape the cameras when he steps out with baby Flynn Bloom. Bloom and his wife Miranda Kerr were spotted arriving in New York City with their adorably chubby-cheeked newborn. ThePirates of the Caribbean actor held his 3-month-old baby close to his chest as he and his new wife made their way through throngs of photographers.

Sounds like Grey’s Anatomy will be getting a little Glee-ful.

Series creator Shonda Rhimes reveals to TV Guide that the long-running medical drama will be filming a musical episode for later this season. According to Rhimes,

“We keep saying that Season 6 and 7 are seasons to try anything and everything that we’ve always wanted to do. I’ve wanted to do a musical episode since the first day we started shooting Season 1. Now, we’re in that place that we have the space to try it. Also, it’s a period of time in which I finally have the right idea and the right talent to make that happen.”

While Rhimes notes that the storyline is in its “very early stages,” she does reveal that the episode will be “a Callie-heavy story” (not surprising, since the character is played by Tony winner Sara Ramirez) and that fans will be pleasantly surprised by the vocal talents of the show’s cast:

“You will be very surprised to discover that some people sing quite well. That’s sort of a little gift to the fans, to discover that people who are not necessarily known for singing have pretty great voices. Also, some people won’t be singing because it doesn’t go with the story.”

Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time that a hospital-centered television show has burst into song; in 2007 Scrubs aired the lauded episode “My Musical”:

Grey’s Anatomy heartthrob Dempsey is officially on board for the upcoming sequel Transformers 3, which begins filming this month. Paramount Pictures is guarding the plot as if it were Fort Knox, but according to EW.com, Dempsey will play Fox’s boss in a role that’s “significant to the plot.” Which is way better than a role that’s completely superfluous to the plot, believe us.

The movie will film in such far-flung locations as Africa, Moscow and China—which means, alas, that we might be deprived of McDreamy sightings in the States for a while. Still totally worth it, if you ask us.

Grey’s stars Patrick Dempsey, Katherine Heigl (whose character apparently still hasn’t been killed off), Eric Dane, Justin Chambers and Ellen Pompeo were all gussied up this week, shooting a wedding scene for an upcoming episode.

Patrick Dempsey, 42, is seen here taking a short break from filming his ABC hit Grey’s Anatomy. You might recognize him as the legend the world refers to as “Dr. McDreamy.”

No one fills out a winter overcoat accompanied by an earnest gaze like Demps.

He also looks a lot calmer since he’s not in his vintage Jag, eyeing the paparazzi like they were about to key his baby.

Despite admittedly being a dork in his younger days (Dempsey told People he once used an entire bottle of Polo cologne on his body before going to a party), he’s now the kind of elegant gentleman that most blokes aspire to be.

The actor has even come out with his own fragrance—Patrick Dempsey Unscripted.

“I love the smell on him,” his wife Jillian Dempsey, 41, says of her husband’s cologne. “If he wears it for a full day and it’s on his clothes, it literally becomes his scent. I feel it’s a part of him now, and it makes him even more sexy to me.”

The couple were married in 1999, and apparently his scent is sweet enough to keep them together.
