Penelope Cruz will not be starring in the upcoming, Sam Mendes-helmed follow-up as 007′s main squeeze, according to Gossip Cop.

“It’s not true,” a source close tells the publication of the recent reports regarding the role.

Rumors of Cruz’s supposed gig first surfaced when a production source told Yahoo UK that the 39-year-old was in talks to play the next Bond girl, saying, ”The producers have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now.”

Had the rumors been true, Cruz would’ve been the oldest actress to play a Bond girl once the film was released, passing 39-year-old Goldfinger star Honor Blackman for the title.

However, Cruz will still be tied to the Bond franchise somehow as her husband, Javier Bardem, played the villain opposite of Daniel Craig in 2012′s Skyfall.

Penelope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem are set to become parents a second time over, according to Us Weekly. Their reps have yet to return a request for comment.

Hollywood’s hottest Spanish power couple welcomed the first child, son Leonardo Encinas Bardem, in January 2011, some six months after they tied the knot in a private ceremony at a friend’s home in the Bahamas.

Shortly after becoming a first-time mother, Cruz broke into tears as she shared how having a child changed her forever.

“It is a revolutionary experience. That’s the best way I can describe it,” she told Vogue. “It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”

And despite the couple’s fame, Cruz, 38, and Bardem, 43, are dedicated to keeping their little ones out of the spotlight. ”I want my son — and my kids if I have more — to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible,” Cruz said of Leo. “The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy.”

For her second pregnancy, Cruz won’t be going through the ups-and-downs of the trimesters alone — her singer-actress sister, Monica Cruz Sánchez, 35, will be sharing in the pregnancy woes. Sánchez announced in January that she is expecting her first child via an anonymous sperm donor later this year.

Taking a cue from Nicole Richie‘s fleeting fashion, Cruz rocked the red carpet in three different but equally divine looks while promoting her new film Twice Born.

Building up to her big reveal, the actress made her first red carpet appearance in a polished but more casual ensemble, pairing tailored ankle-length pants with a black-and-white floral cardi and sky-high pumps.

Next up?

The Oscar-winner changed into a ladylike floral sheath to walk the red carpet once again at a photo call for the film. The pink-and-black shift was tailored to a tee, showing off her fab figure. A magenta clutch and the same black pumps she wore earlier in the day finished off her look.

Saving the best for last, Cruz dazzled during her final red carpet appearance in a crimson floor-length gown. Accordion pleats and asymmetrical draping added interest to the star’s monochromatic ensemble. Ditching her black pumps and loose waves, Cruz paired the strapless stunner with crimson platform sandals, a metallic red clutch, and a sleek side part.

This woman had a baby!

New mom and wife to Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, will once again steam up the big screen in Woody Allen‘s new movie To Rome With Love, and in anticipation of the romantic comedy, Celebuzz drudged up some stills from the movie.

In the film, the 38-year-old actress — who won an Oscar for her role in Woody’s 2008 movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona– plays a super sexy prostitute that really knows how to wear a red dress.

Also starring Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Ellen Page (Juno), Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), and the director himself (Annie Hall, Midnight in Paris), the movie description reads:

“A story about a number of people in Italy, some American, some Italian, some residents, some visitors, and the romances and adventures and predicaments they get into.”

Two Oscar winners and one steamy photo shoot makes for a great story! 

Penelope Cruz graces Harper’s Bazaar‘s May issue, and the Pirates of the Caribbean held nothing back when it came to talking about her idol Meryl Streep and their nude photo shoot together. 

Several years ago, Penelope, 37, posed in her birthday suit for the AIDS’ RED charity alongside Meryl, 62. “As soon as she got to set, I had to sit topless on top of her,” the Spanish actress recalls. Needless to say, Penelope refers to the shoot as “the most interesting love scene I’ve ever done.”

As mentioned, the Iron Lady actress is a mentor of Penelope’s, the Vicky Cristina Barcelona vixen admitting:

“When I first started watching movies and I saw Meryl’s work, that’s when I became obsessed with acting.”

That’s the understatement of the year. Since breaking into acting, Penelope has starred in various films over the years including Blow, Vanilla Sky, and Volver. Perhaps the biggest change in her life came when she and husband Javier Bardem welcomed their son Leo into the world, and her priorities changed.

“Maybe I’ll make one movie a year, maybe two, but it’s not going to be more than that because I have other priorities now.”
