Chelsea and Stephen hung out with her handsome dance partner (and rumored new beau of American Idol castoff Pia Toscano) Mark Ballas and model Petra Nemcova at the low-key event. Kane wore a brown silk top and black skinny jeans while her beau opted for a black leather jacket and t-shirt. Later, the two lovebirds were spotted leaving the party together. So, how did Chelsea and Stephen meet?

“We were set up on a blind date by my manager,” the Disney star tells Us Weekly. Apparently Chelsea was a fan of Stephen’s from back when he was stuck in a never-ending love triangle on MTV’s Laguna Beach! Hey, who can blame her?

While no dancing couple will be sent home this week, their performances were ranked by the panel of judges. Ralph Macchio (aka the Karate Kid) and Karina Smirnoff came out on top with a total score of 24 while Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovisky followed them closely with a score of 23. Meanwhile, former Jonas star Chelsea Kane and her partner Mark Ballas came in third with a combined score of 22. Fan favorites Kendra Wilkinson and Wendy Williams didn’t fare as well at the judges’ table but luckily they all have another week to work on their dancing game.

Kirstie was clearly excited that her performance went over well with the judges and the audience. “You are all saying such sweet and complementary things to me,” Kirstie wrote on Twitter shortly after the live show. “Thank u all so much.. I feel like Cinderella tonight…[dance partner Maksim] is amazing.”

Primarily known for looking stunning and clinging for dear life to a palm tree for eight hours during the 2004 Thailand tsunami, Petra donned a scanty pink dress to commemorate her inauguration as spokesmodel for Otto, a German mail-order company.

Or someone’s dog. Or a robot built by a mad scientist for the purpose of taking over the world. The specifics are a bit fuzzy at the moment. Damn it, why are you even reading this right now, when there are perfectly fine photos to ogle?

Anyway, it sure is nice of Petra to give everyone else a reason to celebrate on her big day.

The gala event, which was sponsored by Bold Films, jewelry company Chopard, the Weinstein Company, Audi, Canal + and Hewlett Packard, featured a formal dinner, auction and abbreviated screening of I Am Because We Are, a documentary about Malawian AIDS orphans produced and narrated by Madonna, who was one of the evening’s most highly anticipated guests.

Madge was joined by a slew of celebrities who gussied up for a good cause, including Petra Nemcova, Dita Von Teese, Christian Slater, Juliette Lewis, Natalie Portman and Donatella Versace—for whom, sadly, there is still no cure in sight.

Also on hand, fervent AIDS activist Sharon Stone, who looked sassy but elegant in a leopard-print dress. Okay, not as elegant as she did earlier in the day, but she does what she can. Click in to see stars doing the Cannes-Cannes…

A source revealed that Petra was “flirting heavily with [Sean] at the Chopard party” and said that at another party on a yacht, Nemcova seemed to be dancing with a guy just to make Penn jealous.

But Nemcova really pulled out the big guns (not just her mammaries) when she sidled up to Robin at a party thrown by the editor of Vanity Fair, Graydon Carter. The source dished that both Penn’s sometimes almost ex-wife and the Czech model appeared to be engaged in deep conversation when Sean noticed from across the room and guided Robin to come “meet my friend” on the other side of the room.

Oh, to be a fly on Petra’s cleavage during that conversation…
