Whether or not you hail from the Emerald Isle, St. Patrick’s Day — marked every March 17 — is a time for everyone to feel just a wee bit Irish.

From pub crawls, to parades, to parties, people come together to celebrate the life and legend of Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognized of Ireland’s patron saints. And what better way to pay tribute to this ages-old holiday than with a drool-worthy dose of Irishmen?

Do you want to live like Bond, James Bond?

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan – who portrayed secret agent James Bond in the official film series, starring in four films between 1995 and 2002 — has put his gorgeous Malibu, Calif., beach-front compound up for lease. But you better be rich: The Thomas Crown Affair star is asking for $250,000 per month to rent the property.

According to the real estate listing, the leasee will immerse themselves “in 13,000 square feet of newly built luxury on 120 feet of beachfront with sublime ocean and mountain views.

“This magical seaside estate designed by Ralph and Ross Anderson features contemporary Thai/Balinese architecture, soaring ceilings, walls of glass, lush tropical gardens, three master suites, a dozen bathrooms, well-appointed his and hers dressing rooms, and gourmet kitchen.”

Some of the other amenities Brosnan, 55, his wife Keely Shaye Smith and their children — Sean, Paris and Dylan — also enjoy: a large saltwater swimming pool, indoor Japanese spa with soaking tub, infrared or traditional sauna, steam room, cold plunge, full size gym, private screening room with bar, music room, library, separate guesthouse and pool cabana.

The home was built from scratch in 2000, the year after he premiered The World Is Not Enough – the nineteenth spy film in the Bond series and the third to star Brosnan.

Why did the Brosnans decide to rent the home in the heart of summer?

He is busy working on a number of new projects, including Love Punch, which also stars Oscar-winner Emma Thompson.

The plot involves a divorced couple who scheme to recover the retirement money that was stolen from them.

The comedy is expected hit theaters in 2013.

Whoa, hey! Put down those pitchforks and torches, R-Pattz fans: we don’t think that Robert Pattinson is dirty or smelly. We think R-Pattz only smells like the finest of European flowers and bathes with the angels on a daily basis. However, the film execs currently looking to cast a new James Bond, don’t really think so well of our beloved, sparkling dreamboat.

Pattinson was reportedly being considered to be the new Bond but the film execs behind the film decided that he wasn’t right for the role because “the public perception [is] that Robert Pattinson’s personal hygiene is, well, lacking” and Bond is thought of as being clean and debonair.

Pattinson has reportedly joked that he is like “an old Irish alcoholic” and admits to lacking physical agility and strength, which plays a big role in Bond films. So, maybe R-Pattz understands the decision to exclude him the Bond films. We guess that gorgeous, rumpled hair doesn’t really translate to “spry.”

We think cutting R-Pattz from Bond has more to do with his age than his bathing habits. The film execs even mentioned that next to Pierce Brosnan (who, in a strange twist, plays R-Pattz dad in Remember Me) and Daniel Craig, “Robert Pattinson is a puppy.” Well he is, what, half their age?

Maybe in a few years we will see the Bond-ified R-Pattz? Until then, we are satisfied with him remaining our sweet Edward.

We wonder if Kristen Stewart will be jealous? Umm…who isn’t?

Variety is reporting that Summit Entertainment has found the leading lady for the new Robert Pattinson romance Remember Me. 

The lucky gal? Emilie de Ravin, who plays the mysterious Claire on the hit show Lost. Also signed on for the sure-to-be hit film are Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper. 

The film begins production in New York City on June 15, where RPattz is currently preparing for his role.

Looks like Angelina Jolie‘s bag-of-bones physique isn’t the only thing keeping her from signing on for the upcoming Thomas Crown Affair sequel.

Crown star Pierce Brosnan tells People magazine that he’d prefer to make screen time with Charlize Theron instead of Brad Pitt‘s lady.

“Charlize Theron is someone who I’ve always admired. I think she’s someone who has acquitted herself grandly,” the Disney-lovin’ former James Bond says. “Nothing against Angelina Jolie. I think she’s a magnificent actress. But Charlize has an inner strength and femininity which I really like to watch.”

Uh-oh; maybe the South African-born actress and World’s Leading Authority on Everything should consider hiring on extra bodyguards. Angelina Jolie has no qualms about avenging perceived wrongs, and she has a pretty rough-and-tumble posse to back her up.

Brosnan might do well to proceed with caution as well; Charlize might be a joy to watch, but she has a reputation for being a little flaky.

Megan Fox isn’t the only petite waif being told to pack on the pounds for a movie role.

According to U.K. rag The Mirror, Angelina Jolie is the top choice to play the female lead in the Pierce Brosnan-produced sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair.

However, a source says “movie bosses” want Jolie to add some weight.

“It is going to be very physically demanding, which is why they want her to carry the extra weight. They don’t want a reprise of what happened with Wanted, where she was fainting and they had to take her costumes in.”

Uh, wasn’t the general concensus that she looked pretty hot in Wanted? You crazy Brits.

Oh, well. Just keep some of the baby weight on, Angie. Sure, Brad might complain, but he’s not signin’ the checks!
