Rumor has it that Lindsay made a good impression on the set of Machete her newest film with Robert Rodriguez that Tarantino is eyeing her for a role that will make her rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that are her career.

Tarantino has a good reputation for giving stars with uninspiring careers a good bump: he made John Travolta a star again in Pulp Fiction and rescued Uma Thurman from a dead-end film career when he cast her in Kill Bill (granted, she may have gone back on that dead-end path, but that wasn’t Tarantino’s doing).

God knows that Lindsay’s career has gone from bad to worse. She hasn’t starred in a film that reached the theaters since 2007 and she has become somewhat infamous for being unemployable. Not only that but her disastrous private life hasn’t helped her career one bit. Lohan is living proof the the old adage “any publicity is good publicity” is simply not true.

German paper the Bild reports that the Pulp Fiction director has a unique way of dealing with heavy-lidded thesps who snooze during his productions—he snaps a pic of them sleeping with a monstrous purple phallus nicknamed “Gerry” and puts the incriminating photo up on a “Wall of Shame.”

Apparently, Tarantino has employed this tactic to keep his talent alert on every film since Kill Bill (hmm; was David Carradine a victim?), keeping the toy at the ready in a chair for the first drop of an eyelid.

Known recipients of the punishment include Inglorious Basterds‘ Brad Pitt and his co-star Gedeon Burkhard, who plays Cpl. Wilhelm  Wicki in the Nazi-slayin’ flick.

“I fell asleep and had to pay the price,” Burkhard tells the paper.

Wow; let’s hope that the folks at Guantanamo don’t get wind of this tactic.

Also on hand for the opening was Tarantino, Basterds‘ Diane Kruger (showing off a lot of back), Christina Ricci and Billy Burke.

RiRi showed up looking absolutely stunning at the London Premiere of Quentin Tarantino‘s new flick Inglourious Basterds.

The films leading lady Diane Kruger showed up on the arm of Tarantino, and looked equally sexy in her short, black dress.

“Don’t take a picture of your wife’s butt,” Pitt says, in reference to Ashton Kutcher having tweeted a picture of his wife Demi Moore’s butt to the whole world in March. “That’s silly. Take pictures of other people’s wives’ butts.”

Truer words were never spoken, but truth is not always as important to Pitt, like when it comes to stating one’s true income in an online dating profile.

“Everyone lies online. In fact, readers expect you to lie. If you don’t, they’ll think you make less than you actually do,” Angelina Jolie‘s baby daddy reveals. “So the only way to tell the truth is to lie.”

Likewise, Pitt supports a bit of harmless, potentially bogus online dating if it keeps you happy.

“Who cares if your Warcraft wife is really a dude,” he jokes. “If it’s good, don’t check under the hood.” 

However, he draws the line when it comes to all this technology impeding on his business in the bathroom.  Pitt says, for instance, that he would never talk on the phone will peeing.

“No, you can’t talk on the phone! Do you want the guy next to you to hear your entire conversation?” Pitt asks. “That’s why you should only text in the bathroom. Just be sure you don’t hit the wrong button and end up putting a photo of your junk on Twitter. Trust me, you don’t want those followers.”

Wise words.

The World War II epic about a group of bounty hunters who track down and brutally kill Nazis had its premiere at the 62nd International Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, drawing everyone and his brother—along with the world’s favorite vampire.

Stars Brad Pitt (along with his babymama Angelina Jolie), Diane Kruger and Melanie Laurent were on hand, along with Sharon Stone, Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt, Emile Hirsch, Joshua Jackson, Dita Von Teese, Joss Stone and—last, but totally not least—Robert Pattinson.

According to The Insider, the film’s debut was met with an 11-minute standing ovation. No wonder Tarantino felt compelled to bust out the dance moves on the red carpet.

People magazine reports that Pitt has agreed to play Lt. Aldo Raine in Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming WW II action flick Inglorious Bastards.

Pitt first saw the film’s script—which Tarantino has been talking up and working on for years—early last month, while awaiting the birth of his and Angelina Jolie‘s twins, Knox and Vivienne. A couple of we

eks ago, the Man They Call Q went the extra 5,700 miles and flew to France in order to convince Pitt to take the part.

The film—which Simon Pegg and Leonardo Dicaprio are also being courted for—is scheduled to begin filming in Germany on October 13. Filming will be on an accelerated schedule to make next year’s Cannes Film Festival. Which would cut into Pitt’s parenting time, but hey—like every guy with a growing family, he could probably use the cash. And those $300,000 tables don’t grow on trees.

So part-time mom Britney Spears is looking sexy again, says The Telegraph, because Tarantino has handpicked her to be the lead in his remake of Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

“Quentin is convinced Britney will be brilliant,” says a source. “She’s delighted. She’s playing the most important character.”

That character is Varla, a murderous stripper who kills a young man then takes his girlfriend hostage. Britney’s family is probably elated with this new opportunity.

The Telegraph promises “the troubled singer will also have sex scenes with another girl before the drama ends in a blood-bath.”

“Q” has been working on the much-hyped screenplay for several years, and wants Brad Pitt to star as one of his dirty dozen, Aldo Raine. The director and actor took a meeting on Tuesday, according to Variety.

Do it, Brad. This movie sounds boss!

Brad’s got his hands full with new twins Knox and Vivienne, but the movie will reportedly shoot this fall in Germany and France. Which would be convenient, seeing as France is the new headquarters for Pitt, his babymama Angelina Jolie, and their multi-cultural brood.

Tarantino is also said to be courting Leonardo Dicaprio for a part in the flick. Leo will probably say “yes” quicker, seeing as he doesn’t have six kids weighing him down like Brad does.

Out on what looks like a lunch date, Tarantino was treated to a kiss on the cheek by a female passerby. Interestingly enough, she appears to be holding what looks like a box of shoes near Tarantino, who is rumored to have something of a foot fetish.

She’s lucky he doesn’t organize a gang of hapless thieves to plot a heist and snag her footwear. Actually, he could just knock her out cold with a head-butt, then go back to hammering nails with that thing.

In his defense, that movie is terrible, and it’s oddly fitting that it will only be remembered for behind-the-scenes psychotic behavior.

Maryland native Jack Jordan, 37, is the “former” mental patient being tried on charges of misdemeanor stalking and coercion. Jordan was arrested outside Thurman’s apartment in October of last year.

Thurman was reported to be pale and without makeup as she teared up testifying how Jordan made her fear for the safety of her family. She explained her reaction to a card he passed her via an assistant on the set of My Super-Ex Girlfriend.

“I noticed words scribbled out, chocolate, mouth, soft kissing, my hands should be on your body. It was like a nightmare,” Thurman testified. Where did the chocolate come in? Never mind.

Jordan also contacted Uma’s brother and sent her father, a Columbia University professor, all sorts of delusional emails.

“I imagine us in a cave a long time ago, and us mummified,” Uma read. “The only thing that keeps me from going to the river to die is the voice of you and your father.

Thurman says she was “scared.” You would think she’d be kind of used to it. She’s probably received creepier script notes from Quentin Tarantino.
