E! Online reports that her mother Betty Witherspoon is suing John, her estranged husband (and Reese’s father), for bigamy. According to the site:

“While Betty and John have been separated since 1996, the Legally Blonde star’s parents are still legally married. As a result, Betty is seeking to have John’s Jan. 14 marriage in Tennessee to Tricianne Taylor annulled, USA Today reports. In her lawsuit, filed against both John and Tricianne, Betty insists she is still in love with her husband and does not want to divorce him.”

Sounds difficult, but Reese looks to be dealing well with it.

Reese and her husband of just over one year, Jim Toth, will welcome their first child together later this year.

Reese’s mom, Betty, has filed a lawsuit against her husband of 42 years, John D. Witherspoon, alleging that he married another woman even though they are still married.

In court documents, Betty said she fears her 70-year-old husband, a physician, suffers from early onset dementia and has a drinking problem.

“No person in Tennessee can marry another while being married at the same time of the second marriage,” said the petition, which includes a marriage certificate for John Witherspoon and the woman he has since marred, Tricianne Taylor.

Already mom to 12-year-old Ava and 8-year-old Deacon (from her first marriage to Stop Loss actor Ryan Phillippe), it would make sense for her to expand her brood with her new hubby!

Professionally, the newlywed has been on a press tour promoting her new movie This Means War (out now) which costars Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese’s pal Chelsea Handler. 

The 36-year-old actress was spotted taking a hike with friends in LA on Wednesday morning, but cleverly concealed any possible baby bumpage by wearing a baggy sweatshirt. On Wednesday, a number of reports began swirling that Reese and her hubby of about one year. This will be Reese’s third child, as she is already mom to Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8.

Deadline is reporting that Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz are all set to hit the big screen in One Hit Wonders, which will be written and directed by Glee‘s Ryan Murphy. The rough plot of the film is that the three ladies are washed up 90s pop stars, who decide to form a super group in the present day. The idea was conjured up by the quartet during a dinner at LA’s Soho House, and since we know how musical Reese and Gwyneth are (Walk the Line and Glee, anyone?), this is sure to be a fun flick! And it probably doesn’t hurt that both GP and Reese have Oscars under their belts.

Also, a very funny Saturday Night Live fella is expected to help out on the music front. Any guesses as to who?

Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island cohorts are in talks to produce the tunes for this flick. With hits like “I Just Had Sex” and “The Creep,” we have a feeling this is going to be our new favorite movie!

Also, these boys are known to collaborate with Justin Timberlake (Cam’s ex!) regularly, so could we be getting a JT cameo, too? Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
