As previously reported, Rob Lowe is the latest celeb slated to appear in a movie for network, playing lawyer Jeff Ashton in the upcoming Prosecuting Casey Anthony movie. This will be the second time the 40-year-old will tackle a real-life character since his much talked about role in Drew Peterson: Untouchable.

However, Lowe’s not the only celeb who’ve starred in Lifetime dramas. From The OC‘s Mischa Barton to 90210 resident Tori Spelling, more and more Hollywood stars have hopped onto the TV movie bandwagon — even Lindsay Lohan is set to play Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming flick!

The film will be based on Ashton’s book about the case, Improper Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony. The highly publicized trial dominated the news in 2011, when Anthony was acquitted in the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Is Rob, 48, good for the role?

Lifetime executive Rob Sharenow believes so. “We’re thrilled to have Rob returning to our network, after his amazing star turn as Drew Peterson. He’s one of those rare stars who can do it all, comedy, drama, heroes and villains,” Sharenow said in a press release. As of late, the movie is titled Prosecuting Casey Anthony.

He also starred in Water for Elephants alongside Reese Witherspoon and completed work on a couple of films due out next year. Rob Kardashian

2011 was definitely the breakout year for the youngest member of the Kardashian Klan. He started off the year by playing in the 2011 NBA Celebrity Game during the NBA All-Star Weekend and then proceeded to appear in two of his family’s reality shows: Keeping up with the Kardashians and Khloe & Lamar. Rob then kept the public’s eyes on him when he announced his participation on season 13 of the popular Dancing with the Stars reality competition in which he earned second place with partner Cheryl Burke.

Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. is known for his consistently great roles in both hit television series and big blockbuster movies. This iron man of actors took 2011 to film several movies including Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (out in theaters now) and The Avengers (due out in 2012). If that wasn’t enough, he’s also gearing up to film the much anticipated Iron Man 3 sequel. In October 2011, Downey also became a recipient of the American Cinematheque Award. Very impressive!

In the complaint, Laura says that Sheryl frequently walked around the house naked, divulged details about her sex life with her husband and discussed her children’s penis sizes in front of Boyce.

TMZ reports that Boyce alleges Mrs. Rob Lowe once responded to Laura’s calling in sick by saying, “[Boyce] got strep throat from sucking n****r d**k. I mean black d**k,” in reference to the young woman’s boyfriend.

Additionally, Boyce claims wrongful termination and has enlisted the legal services of Gloria Allred, who is also representing former Lowe nanny Jessica Gibson, the first family domestic to file a countersuit against the Lowe family.

Rob’s lawyer Larry Stein says that even if Boyce’s story isn’t BS, it’s still a big whatevs. “The alleged statements by Sheryl are totally unrelated to, and do not provide any support for, Gibson’s claims against Rob.”

Sounds like the premise for a very juicy episode of Fox’s The Moment of Truth…or Maury. Yay, lie detector tests for everyone!
