Prince Harry’s historic trip to the 2013 Warrior Games went off without a hitch.  After landing in Colorado on Friday night, the spare helped serenade Olympian Missy Franklin for her birthday.  Then it was off to Colorado Springs for a sporting event that brought together both UK and US wounded veterans and their supporters.

The cause is one that’s very close to Harry’s heart, as he’s a patron of the UK’s Walking With The Wounded, and recently announced that he’ll travel to the South Pole with the organization.

We’ve been following Kelly Harrison of Keep Calm and Harry On throughout the prince’s US tour, who’s given us a play-by-play on our favorite ginger.

Prince Harry is back on U.S. soil for the first time since that (un)forgettable Las Vegas photo scandal.

On Thursday, the third-in-line to the British throne touched down at Dulles International Airport to kick off a weeklong visit. during which time he’ll do a little press and raise funds for charities close to his heart.

Sen. John McCain had the lucky honor of greeting the prince as the pair attended a photo exhibition on landmines and unexploded ordinance at the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill.

As Twitter and Instagram have been telling us all afternoon, gaggles of female staffers have been lurking about the halls, squealing and snapping photos of the clothed royal.

Harry is scheduled to attend a dinner at the British Embassy later this evening.

On Friday, the 28-year-old royal will head to Arlington National Cemetery for a wreath ceremony before visiting wounded vets at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Other highlights of Harry’s trip will include a tour of post-Hurrican Sandy New Jersey with Gov. Chris Christie, a fundraiser in New York City and a game of polo in Greenwich, Conn. in support of his children’s charity in Africa.

Today, British betting company Ladbrokes released photos of the royal women (Queen Elizabeth, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Cornwall) getting the royal nursery prepped with the help of Pippa and Carole Middleton.

In addition to that, Ladbrokes put together an infographic covering any and all information relating to bets placed on the royal baby’s gender, name, hair color, date of birth and more.

This comes on a day when the UK learned its sovereign would be taking on less royal duties in favor of her son, Prince Charles.  As heir to the throne, Charles will represent Her Majesty at November’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Sri Lanka.

According to Richard Palmer of the Daily Express, the Queen (who turned 87 last month) will most certainly not abdicate the throne like Queen Beatrix, but the Prince of Wales’ presence at Parliament today was a clear indication that she is scaling back her engagements.

Oh my stars, Harper Beckham.  You could have gone the way of Suri Cruise with the paparazzi, but instead you are choosing to use this as an opportunity to smile.  Are you the cutest?

Little Becks and her family lunched at Le Jules Verne inside the Eiffel Tower, and David Beckham made sure to pack Harper’s lunchbox with all her necessities.

Meanwhile, two other little ladies were having a grand old time at the Badminton Horse Trials.  Yesterday, Queen Elizabeth‘s great-granddaughters Savannah and Isla Phillips watched their aunt and Olympic equestrian Zara Phillips compete in Badminton, England.

The girls are 12th and 13th in line to the British throne, respectively.  Their father, Peter Phillips, is Her Majesty’s oldest grandchild.  Phillips, despite being the son of Princess Anne, holds no royal titles because his mother wanted her kids to have as normal an upbringing as possible.

Oh, bugger.  The Daily Mail reports that Prince Harry is telling people Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are having a boy this July.

Despite no confirmation on the sex of the baby from the palace, the spare is apparently so over-the-moon about becoming an uncle.

“Harry has been telling everyone Wills and Kate are having a boy and how thrilled he is at the prospect of having a little nephew,” a source told the Mail.

Apparently Princess Eugenie has also been flapping her gums about the third-in-line being a boy.

“The close inner circle all know that it’s a boy and they’re busily buying gifts with a boy theme,” another source told the Sunday People.  ”There will be an awful lot if blue in their house.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Kate told a group of army wives on St. Patrick’s day that she bought a light blue Bugaboo stroller.

All this comes as a surprise to me, knowing that Harry is fiercely protective of his privacy and that of his sister-in-law’s.

Before ending his tour of duty in Afghanistan, Captain Wales (as he’s known in the British army) told reporters how pleased he was to hear from Will and Kate about their impending arrival, but that Kate deserves to be protected.

“I literally am very, very happy for them,” Harry said at Camp Bastion in January.

“I just only hope that she and him – but mainly Catherine – hopefully that she gets the necessary protection to allow her as a mother-to-be to enjoy the privacy that that comes with. I seriously hope that’s going to be able to happen.”

Last Tuesday, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands followed in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother by abdicating the throne.  This practice isn’t unheard of, but it certainly isn’t the norm in most royal cases.  Beatrix made the announcement on January 28th of this year, prompting many to ask, “Would Queen Elizabeth do the same?”

The simple answer is “no.”  Even in her last years, Queen Victoria was still sovereign, despite others carrying out the day-to-day duties that Her Majesty could not.

Beatrix celebrated her retirement with a formal dinner on April 29th, followed by a ceremony for her son’s inauguration April 30th.  The Dutch throne now belongs to King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, who joins Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and the Duchess of Cambridgeas Europe’s style stars.

Ahead of his first grandchild’s birth in mid-July, Prince Charles held Scarlett Coleman in Poundbury, England today.  The heir to the throne was on a walkabout while celebrating the town’s 20th anniversary.

According to the Daily Mail‘s Rebecca English, Poundbury, an experiment urban extension, was built on the Duchy of Cornwall’s property (as the eldest son, Charles inherited the land upon his birth).  The Prince of Wales was key in creating the town, using his ownarchitectural principles.

Contrary to what some might assume, Charles was very involved in his sons’ upbringings.  In fact, he broke with royal tradition to be present at the birth of his children (traditionally, men were kept away until mom and baby were all spruced up, post-delivery).

Asked on BBC’s Countryfile program whether the thought of becoming a grandfather makes him feel old, Charles said “Of course it does, because you can’t believe, to a certain extent, that’s going to happen in your life. It’s a lovely thought and I look forward enormously to that relationship with a grandchild.”

In honor of Children’s Hospice Week, the Duchess of Cambridge visited Naomi House in Winchester, England today to meet with terminally ill children and young adults.  The center provides respite, emergency and bereavement care, something that is dear to Kate’s heart.

The Duchess is patron of East Anglia Children’s Hospice, and released a video message in support of CHW.

“She is a natural with the children, she will be a great mum, a great mum. I really mean that,” EACH chief executive Graham Butland told the Daily Mail.  ”The way in which she has raised the profile of our charity is something we will be eternally grateful.”

Kate, who wore a peach coat by Tara Jarmon with LK Bennett “Sledge” heels and a custom-made dress, joined a tea party with some of the children from Naomi’s House, and after was congratulated on her second wedding anniversary by Professor Khalid aziz, chairman of trustees at Naomi House.

“It’s especially special that you came here today because today is a very special day two years ago to the day, you were in a slightly larger building then this one – probably not having quite as much fun,” Professor Aziz told Her Royal Highness.”

But you did it very well we were all totally enthralled.  I just hope Prince William is taking you somewhere nice tonight.”

Some of the web’s most outstanding royal blogs have come together to raise funds for EACH.  The Baby Cambridge Fundraiser kicked off its campaign yesterday, celebrating the impending royal birth of Will and Kate’s baby by helping to raise money for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Children’s Hospice Week kicked off in the UK yesterday, and the Duchess of Cambridge released a video message in support of the campaign to bring awareness and support to children with life-threatening conditions, as well as their families.

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices(EACH) in England is supporting families dealing with the challenges these detrimental conditions can bring.

Ahead of the most highly-anticipated birth in recent history, five outstanding royal blogs have come together to raise funds for EACH as the “Baby Cambridge Fundraiser.”

What Kate Wore, A Petite Princess, Duchess Kate, Kate Middleton Style and British Royals have collectively gathered donations from many of the brands Her Royal Highness has worn. A sampling of designers offering items includes Links of London, London Sole, Temperley London and more.

Beginning April 29^th through August 31^st readers will be able to either win those highly coveted items in random drawings or through online auctions benefitting EACH.

The fundraising project is carried out with the knowledge and approval of EACH.  All the funds raised will be donated in recognition of the care they provide young patients and the support offered for family members of those children.  East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices must raise $8.7 million from public donations to deliver services this year. This amounts to more than $23,000 a day, every day of the year.  Services through EACH are offered in three hospice locations in England and include day care in a patient’s family home or hospice, support for family members, various therapies and end of life care.

Oh goodness.  Remember when Princess Beatrice started waving to you from her chauffeured car wearing what looked like a toilet seat?  Then she got out of the car and it was so much more than that?

The design was a Philip Treacy creation crafted to look like a Disney discard.  No, not really, but that’s what it looked like.

Treacy later told the Observer that his royal client was unfairly bullied by fashion bloggers for wearing the hat.  ”She is only 22 and there was a little bit of bullying going on. I didn’t give a f*** about 140,000 bloggers. In the future, we’ll look back and think she looked wild,” he said.

Then there was her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, who looked equally as ridiculous in a Vivienne Westwood ensemble and a hat, also by Treacy.

To her credit, Bea’s Valentino outfit looked gorgeous.  And the fallopian-tube-pretzen-toilet-seat thingie was auctioned off on eBay, raising over $125,000 for charity.

Hurrah!  It’s been two years since Prince William and the former Kate Middleton tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in London, a wedding that prompted 2 billion people worldwide to tune in.

Anne Clark created the genius meme tumblr, Kate Middleton For The Win around the time Wills and Kate announced their engagement. “Like a lot of teenagers I had a huge crush on the young William, but I didn’t know much about Kate until a few months ago,” Clark told me via email just before the royal wedding.  ”I think I like her even more!”

Now, two years later, Clark is a bit of a celebrity herself.  Vanity Fair tapped the New York-based comedienne to create exclusive memes for their site, and Clark recently put on a show at the PIT in NYC to celebrate the impending royal birth.

Two years ago, I asked Clark how she came up with such clever captions.

“I typically look around for interesting photos and then ask myself, ‘If all I really had to do all day was look awesome and drink champagne, what would I say/complain about?’” Clark said.

Yours truly is a smidge obsessed with royal wedding, but why did Clark find the event so fascinating?

“I think it’s the grandeur and elegance of it all,” she told me.  ”The way the royals are so public and elegant and yet so mysterious – it’s really pretty magical. Also, Kate is just so ridiculously good looking and sweet it’s really hard not to love her.”

The Duchess of Cambridge recorded a video ahead of Children’s Hospice Week, her first-ever broadcast message in support of the cause in which she is heavily involved.

The campaign is being put on by Together For Short Lives, a UK charity that speaks for children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions, as well as those who love and care for them.

“Children’s hospices provide lifelines to families at a time of unimaginable pain,” Catherine said in the message.  ”The support they give is vital.”

Her Royal Highness is patron of East Anglia Children’s Hospice, where she made her very first speech in March 2012.

The woman who took topless photos of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge during her September holiday in Provence, France is being charged alongside French Closer’s publisher for “invasion of privacy,” according to both the Daily Mail‘s Rebecca English and E!‘s Melanie Bromley.

The photographer also sold pictures to the regional paper, La Provence, claiming the stills of Her Royal Highness to be “all decent.”

Catherine and Prince William were at Viscount Linley’s Chateau d’Autet when the photos were taken, just before they took off for their Diamond Jubilee tour of South East Asia.

News that topless photos of Catherine had ben published reached TRH during a visit to Kuala Lumpur.  Richard Palmer of the Daily Express told me at the time that “it overshadowed the tour to a certain extent.  They got over it.  They told their chief aides that they felt some closure just by beginning some legal action.

“Prince William wears his heart on his sleeve and he was very angry, upset about it,” Palmer added.  ”He showed that throughout that Friday while the couple toured Kuala Lumpur.”

What emerged out of this ordeal was a test of character for Catherine.

“You see much more evidence of her being the steely one,” Palmer noted.

Prince Harry traveled to Nottingham, England today where he opened the new headquarters for brain injury association, Headway.  Princess Diana was a patron of the charity from 1991-1996.

Harry took on the challenge of changing a baby’s diaper with just one hand, which he failed miserably at.  According to the Daily Mail‘s Rebecca English, Harry grabbed the plastic baby by her leg to flip her over.

“She stayed asleep all the time,” Harry joked of the plastic baby.  ”She didn’t cry once.”

Harry also visited Russell Youth Club, where he met youth workers from four organizations involved with young people in the city.  Harry signed his name on a graffiti wall during the visit

The royal also popped by the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies, meeting staff and students, as well as officially opened the Notts TV Institute.

Taking a page from his father, Prince Charles, Harry stepped in to read the news during a student broadcast, according to the Telegraph.

Papa-to-be Prince William was all smiles on Saturday, as the 30-year-old suited up for a charity gala in London.

The Duke of Cambridge, who was without pregnant wife Kate Middleton, also 30, looked all sorts of dapper as he took part in a benefit for homeless charity Centrepoint and reportedly made jokes about morning sickness.

The Duchess was admitted to London’s King Edward VII Hospital earlier this week for severe nausea related to her pregnancy.

“He said they shouldn’t call it morning sickness as it’s a day and night sickness,” former Centrepoint chairman Michael O’Higgins told reporters [via The Daily Mail].

The scene was a refreshing change from the tragedy that stemmed from the hospital where Middleton had stayed for four days.

Earlier this week, two Australian DJs prank called the hospital, posing as Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth, for an update on the pregnant Duchess.

On Friday, the body of Jacintha Saldanha, a nurse receptionist, was found around the corner from King Edward VII Hospital. Scotland Yard is treating the death as a possible suicide.

Since the tragic news, the hospital’s chairman has penned a letter to 2DayFM’s parent company Southern Cross Austereo.

“King Edward VII’s Hospital cares for sick people, and it was extremely foolish of your presenters even to consider trying to lie their way through to one of our patients, let alone actually make the call,” Lord Glenarthur wrote.

“Then to discover that, not only had this happened, but that the call had been pre-recorded and the decision to transmit approved by your station’s management, was truly appalling.”

The DJs have since been suspended as the station has pulled all ads from its airwaves in the wake of the tragedy.

With a royal baby on its way, photographers are dusting off their cameras and awaiting to snap a photo of Kate Middleton‘s bundle of joy (or her baby bump).

Though the royal family are notorious for keeping their family lives private, they do indulge on occasion, releasing portraits of their newest additions. Prince William and Prince Harry‘s childhood was well documented on film, with their mother — the late Princess Diana — even inviting royal photographers inside their Kensington Palace home to snap photos of the boys’ everyday lives.

Likewise, their father Prince Charles grew up in front of the camera lens.

At only five weeks old,  in December 1948, the Duke of Edinburgh made his public debut when a portrait of his doting mother, Queen Elizabeth II, overlooking the youngster in his crib was released to the public.

With paparazzi camping out at King Edward VII Hospital, where Middleton is currently staying due to a bout of hyperemesis gravidarum, there’s no telling when the Duchess of Cambridge’s baby bump will be snapped and released.

Pregnant Kate Middleton experienced some temporary pain relief on Wednesday thanks to another family visit at the hospital — this time, from siblings James and Pippa.

James, 25, and Pippa, 29, were photographed leaving the  King Edward VII hospital in London on Wednesday after spending some time with Kate, 30, who was admitted Monday for Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

It was Middleton’s second family visit on Wednesday; earlier that afternoon, she was also seen by her husband, Prince William, who has stood by her side throughout her illness.

Middleton’s pregnancy was confirmed Monday after she was admitted to the hospital. Palace officials gave an update on Middleton’s status on Tuesday, saying she is “continuing to feel better.”

“She and the Duke are immensely grateful for the good wishes they have received. She will remain in hospital at present and will continue to be treated for Hyperemesis Gravidarum.”

This is the first child for Middleton and William, who were married Apr. 29, 2011, in London. They are less than 12 weeks along as of Monday, according to an official Palace statement.

The royal family’s best kept secret is finally confirmed: Kate Middleton is pregnant.

Since William and Kate’s lavish royal wedding in 2011, the young newlywed has often been compared to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Now that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are officially expecting their first child, Celebuzz is taking a look back at Princess Diana’s best mommy moments with her little princes.

Even 15 years after her death, Princess Diana is still remembered for her remarkable poise during her time in the limelight, especially amid her very public divorce from Prince Charles. But if there was one thing the People’s Princess was most proud of, it was her role as a mother.

Despite their royal blood, Diana wanted her sons Prince William and Prince Harry to have normal upbringings. She took them to places like Walt Disney World and McDonald’s and bought them video games. In addition, they also visited AIDS clinics and shelters for the homeless with their charitable mother.

When William popped the question to Middleton in 2010, he did so with Diana’s 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring. The ring has a significant emotional significance for William as Diana chose it after she got engaged to Prince Charles in 1981.

But that’s not the only way William can honor his late mother. There’s already talk of the possibility the royal baby will be named Diana, should the bundle of joy turn out to be a girl.
