Natina Reed of Blaque died late Friday night after being hit by a car while she was crossing the street in Atlanta.

Reed, who appeared in the 2000 film Bring It On, was brought to a local hospital after the driver called 9-1-1, but she was pronounced dead just before 11PM, Gwinett Police confirmed to TMZ.

Sunday would have been Reed’s 33rd birthday.

Since the singer’s tragic passing, celebrities from the music world and beyond have expressed their shock and grief via Twitter.

Every wanted to live in an MTV Crib? Well, now you can.

Rap mogul Russell Simmons has put his sky-high downtown New York City duplex back on the market for a cool $11 million. The Lady Liberty penthouse — located at 114 Liberty Street in Financial District — was up for grabs years ago, but never sold.

Sean “P. Diddy” Combs was a potential buyer. But talks fell through following 9/11, when wreckage from the fallen Twin Towers nearly destroyed the digs.

But the now-renovated swanky apartment is for sale again.

With 7,175 square feet of interior space, the penthouse boasts four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a staff room and a library. Not only does the Def Jam Recordings founder’s place have a spacious chef’s kitchen with a breakfast nook, but the upstairs master bedroom is even accompanied by a kitchenette. Twelve-foot ceilings and wide windows fill the rooms with natural sunlight.

And the outdoor space is something to be seen. A greenery-adorned roof desk offers 3,500 square feet of exterior space with breathtaking views of downtown Manhattan and the water.

Back when Simmons was still with ex-wife Kimora Lee, the apartment — in all its swanky glory — was featured on an episode of MTV Cribs as a tribute to the lives lost in New York City on September 11, 2001.

Simmons slashed the price tag on the apartment back in 2005 — hoping to secure a buyer in the wake of 9/11 — but no one bit. Now the real estate listing is now back up to it’s original selling price of $11 million.

Hmm…what do we have here? Although Kim‘s Twitter-loving brother Rob Kardashian has denied rumors that have been swirling about his relationship with Run’s House star Angela Simmons, stepping out together for all the paparazzi to see isn’t the smartest idea. Finally, Russell Simmons has come right out and said what we’ve suspected all along: That Tila Tequila deserves a spot on the list of The Most Important Women in the History of the World.

In his celebrity blog entry for Global Grind on Friday, the former Def Jam mogul praised Tequila for a blog entry that she herself had written, exposing and condemning the cruelty of the fur trade.

“Our blogger, Tila Tequilla, trumped all of our other celebrity bloggers by handing in the most viewed and commented blog in the history of Global Grind on the subject of animal abuse,” Simmons wrote.

Simmons then went on to draw parallels between Tequila, American First Lady Michelle Obama and French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, both of whom recently pledged to go fur-free.

“This day marks a shift in human consciousness,” Simmons raves. “We are finally, after years of going head to head with the fur industry, changing the way the world views fur.  It is no longer being viewed as a way to floss and show off your status or bank account- it is now a billboard of cruelty on people’s back.”

And Tila Tequila has played a crucial part in this shift in consciousness. If a female version of Mount Rushmore is ever created, Tequila has surely earned a place on it.

Although multiple sources in reports say that Kimora Lee Simmons is expecting a child with beau Djimon Hounsou, hip hop impresario Russell Simmons seems less than pressed.

Russell, 51, has been bouncing all around Park City, Utah from gift lounges to private dinners to late-night partying at the Sundance Film Festival.

While Simmons broke up with his rebound gal, model Porschla Coleman, in the late summer of 2008, love was maybe the last thing on Simmon’s mind yesterday when he rolled to a cast party for Push.

Starring Mariah Carey, Mo’Nique and Paula Patton, Simmons came to celebrate with director Lee Daniels as well as singer Corinne Baily Rae and Patton’s husband Robin Thicke at The House of Hype.

No wonder he’s been mum on Kimora’s little one, clearly he’s booked on the Park City social circuit.

Looks like it’s a hit-or-miss month for celebrities seeking custody of their kids.

Kimora Lee Simmons, ex-wife of rap mogul Russell Simmons, has gained sole custody of their children, eight-year-old Ming and five year-old Aoki, according to People magazine.

Kimora, the 33-year-old CEO of the Baby Phat clothing line, will receive $20,000 per kid each month in child support, until the girls are 19. Big Russ is also required to buy or lease a car valued at no less than $60,000 every 24 months for Kimora in which to tote the tykes around.

But hey, at least he’ll get to see daughters sometimes. As in, one week out of every eight, with a bit more time for summer vacations and holidays.

Hmmm, apparently the $100 million in annual earnings Baby Phat rakes in isn’t enough to make ends meet. Russell’s probably gonna have to do a whole lotta yoga before he calms down over this.

Kimora, who’s currently “kind of engaged” to actor Djimon Hounsou, filed for divorce in March. Hopefully, Russell will figure out something to do on the weeks he doesn’t have Ming and Aoki.
