Well, that’s exactly what happens on an upcoming episode of the series, in which Jess, single for the first time, has an “attachment-free” fling with the True Blood hunk. Attachment or no attachment, we highly support this.

In the meantime, Jess also has more men to look forward to in her future: According to reports, actor Dermot Mulroney will play her love interest in an upcoming arc. Color us very, very jealous.

]]> True Blood hunk Ryan Kwanten is heading to New Girl while on hiatus from his hit HBO show! The Australian actor was hanging at the Bertolli Meal Soup Chalet hosted by Gen Art in Park City and in between watching some NFL playoff games, stopping by the Solstice Sunglass Boutique  and hanging with Laura Prepon, he told Celebuzz how excited he was for fans to see him head to Fox for a bit.

“It’s the Valentine’s Day episode and I’m Zooey Deschanel‘s dream guy–well supposedly,” Ryan said with a smile. “He’s the guy on an internet dating site that would have all the great boxes checked and seem perfect…but lets just say she speculates that a little bit too much!”

Ladies–for the record, Kwanten also told us internet dating is not for him. “I’m bad enough as it is,” he said laughing. 

Back to his time on set, he sang Zooey’s praises:

“She is such a sweetheart. I hadn’t met her before the show, but I am even more of a fan than I was before. She really is wonderful.”

So could this guest stint lead to an even bigger role?

“I don’t know! I would love to come back though,” Ryan said. “I guess we’ll see how it plays, but if they would want me back I would treat it as an honor.”

Thankfully for us True Blood fans though Ryan gets back to work on the show soon, but was tight lipped about what’s in store for season 4.

“You are going to get me in trouble, I can’t tell you anything!”

He did tell us he was “excited” to see all his cast mates. His True Blood costar Joe Manganiello has a little movie coming out this summer called Magic Mike and if you read Celebuzz then we hope you guys have heard of it. Still, Ryan looked a bit shocked when we filled him in on what Joe’s been doing during hiatus!

“A male stripping movie! Wow that is great, I could see Joe doing quite well. I’ll for sure see it! Hey why not, right?”

E! Online is reporting that True Blood‘s uber-sexy Ryan Kwanten will be stopping by for the freshman comedy’s Valentine’s Day episode to woo the quirky title character.

If you watch the show, you know that Zooey Deschanel‘s character is newly single, but the real question is, are these two going to hit it off?

According to E! Online, this is going to be more of a “hit it and quit it” situation for Jess.

“Jess will be celebrating her first Valentine’s Day in six years as a single girl, and what better way to do that than with a meaningless one-night stand? So she drags Schmidt (Max Greenfield) out to a bar to be her wingman, and that is when she meets Oliver (Kwanten).”

But then she quickly realizes they have little in common. Too bad!

But you are in the hands of an Academy Award-winner [screenwriter Alan Ball], so that level of protection is like a security blanket,” he admitted. “If you are comfortable in your own skin you still feel like you are doing it for the right reason, so it doesn’t bother me.”

The trio hit up the Camp Playboy party and were playing Ubisoft’s Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking on Kinect for a while. Even though Nina and Ian are a bit closer (the two have been dating for almost two years), there was no third-wheeling here!

While True Blood has been a huge success (despite the Emmy snubs), Alexander revealed to Vogue Magazine that he wasn’t immediately sold on taking the role. The actor admits that at first, he wavered on whether he wanted to play the sexy vampire Eric Northman. “I was nervous about doing a TV series, because I wasn’t sure I wanted to play the same character over and over.”

However, his success on the small screen is getting recognized. He received an honorary degree from the Leeds Metropolitan University in England on Wednesday. Check out the pics below!

You’d better get an eyeful while you can, because the actor hints that his troubled character could meet his end this season.

“I think out of everyone this season, [my character] has by far the hardest time staying alive — if he does,” Ryan tells MTV.

Unfortunately, that’s about all he can reveal. “I’m kind of sworn to secrecy,” he adds. “The disclosure agreements I feel are getting bigger and bigger every year, in terms of how much we can and cannot say.”

He does hint that there are some big surprises this year, in which the series deviates from the book series its based on: ”The good thing with the show, even with people who are well-researched, is that you’re constantly surprised. In season one, Lafayette was supposed to die — and he’s still alive, thank God. [Series creator] Alan Ball prides himself on doing a very TV-savvy version of the books … Keeping the fans of the books happy and also making it appealing for an audience.”

That’s where this season’s shockers come in, he says: “Toward the latter third of the [season], there’s a whole new twist that you’ll be very, very surprised by.”

Tuesday night, Alexander Skarsgard (solo), Stephen Moyer and wife Anna Paquin (glued at the adorable hip) and Ryan Kwanten (so hot, so talented) made a splash in Hollywood.

Alex was happier than ever to pose with fans inside “Fangtasia,” the True Blood after-party Tuesday in Hollywood. Alex never flinched at an adoring fan, and chatted with Kwanten and fellow ab-throb Joe Manganiello, who was accompanied by his gorgeous fiance.

Anna and Stephen couldn’t stop gushing at each other the whole night, while Joe did the same to his number one babe, dressed to kill in a gold Max Mara dress.

Despite all the women on the prowl for Alex, he was simply a gentleman, obliging many pictures with adoring girls but chatting with guy friends, mostly.

It’s hard to find a cast as down to earth, cool, and fun as the True Blood folks so trust us, it’s worth your while to tune into HBO June 26 at 9pm.

With the season four premiere True Blood quickly approaching (it kicks off Sunday, June 26), Celebuzz had the pleasure of chatting with Ryan Kwanten – the ridiculously good-looking star of our summer TV obsession. And in case you didn’t know, the Australian native is more than just a pretty face (and hot body) — he’s got some serious acting chops that have kicked up some Emmy buzz, and recently he became a life-saving hero.

The down to earth, humble, and flat-out awesome actor took the time to talk with us about the new season, the Emmys and … well … getting naked:

We are big True Blood fans here! How has filming season 4 been so far? 
We are at the tail end, we have about another month to go. It has been a whirlwind of a season. We are certainly not getting smaller, it’s been taken to a whole new level.

What can we expect out of your character, Jason Stackhouse, this season?
Jason got it so low on the evolutionary totem pole, so every season he grows more than any other character. This season is no different and probably his biggest growth period. Now a young boy turns into a grown man, and trusts his disposition of authority. He is supposed to look after the family that Crystal left him with so there is a real sense of authority that he really hasn’t really had before. He has always lived a very selfish and self involved life and now he thinks of others before himself.

Everyone loves Jason the playboy, though. Is Crystal coming back or are you getting a new love interest? 
Crystal does come back and there is some dark and disturbing scenes that happen. Jason is used to getting poked rather than punched but this is taken to a whole new level. He will be lucky to get out of here alive.

True Blood has such a die-hard fan following. Is it a little intimidating at times?
You work so hard on the show so to have people see the effort — it is a very nice feeling. Last week we were filming in a small town back-to-back and the whole town must have turned out to watch us shoot the scenes. Literally at all hours of the night! These fans could not of been more interested, it’s very cool.

A lot of these fans are petitioning for an Emmy nomination for you! Seriously, if you go through the message boards on True Blood fan sites they want Jason Stackhouse to get some love this year.
Really! Our fans are amazing. If people want to petition I am all for it, but I am not the best at tooting my own horn.

Really though, is it something you have thought about at all? It’s a possibility!
Oh no, not really. It’s just great being a part of something fans enjoy so much. It’s very flattering.

You’re too modest! Here, how about I’ll join the fans and start the campaign for you?
[laughs] Hey if you want to go for it!

You play the lovably dumb Jason so well. Are people ever surprised when they meet you that your character isn’t really you at all?
When people hear me talk I think they realize that it is a character. It always is a nice compliment when people finally see that it’s just character, because that means I fooled them I guess!

How do you feel about the nude scenes that frequent True Blood, and your character in particular? Trust me, your female fans don’t mind them!

I know you are involved with the City of Hope. Can you tell readers a little bit about your involvement with this charity?
I have unfortunately been struck by cancer in various ways. My mom had breast cancer twice, and a couple of my close friends have recovered from cancer. I was recently at an event where a lady was talking and asked the crowd to raise their hands up if they haven’t been affected by cancer….and no one put their hand up. I remember when I first started getting involved I had to do a double-take when I saw some of the statistics. It can’t be right, it seems to be blown out of proportion but no.

You are saving lives in more ways than one…recently it was reported you saved a man’s life on Hollywood Boulevard. Is this true?
I don’t know if I really saved his life, but I definitely pulled him out of harms way.

So besides True Blood, donating your time to charity, and being a real life hero, how do you spend your free time?
To be honest, I love working so much. I love this business, so even when I am not working I am very focused on my career. I am not a prude so I do have friends and go out but it’s still a very private life. I try and let the drama be on screen.

That’s a good way to be! Who are you dying to work with in the industry that you haven’t yet?
There are a whole host of A-list director crop that I would love to get my hands on. Whether it be JJ Abrams, Steven Spielberg or even Coen Brothers.

If you ask us, saving someone’s life deserves an Emmy nomination and a Coen Brothers movie…at least! Oh, and the fact Ryan’s actually a good actor doesn’t hurt the cause either.

Check Kwanten out when True Blood premieres on HBO on June 26 at 9 pm, and in the upcoming films Griff the Invisible and Knights of Badassdom (which Ryan describes as Role Models meets Shaun of The Dead). Check out the Griff the Invisible trailer below: 

Looks like Ryan had a few action scenes because you can see him in character as Jason Stackhouse on the ground running away from something. Not a bad view from behind!

Glad to see Kwanten’s arm muscles look as good as ever, too.

He’ll be back on TV sooner than you think! Ryan Kwanten and the cast of True Blood return for a fourth season June 12 on HBO. Something is going to go down with Ryan’s sexy (and usually shirtless) character Jason Stackhouse as the teaser below shows.

Get a good look while you can ladies! This Ryan recently told the New York Post that he plans on quitting acting and getting out of the limelight. “I think I’m going to end my acting career. I’m so introverted. I’m ready to be behind the scenes. I’m 36, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years,” he said of his decision. So what’s his next move? He’s ready to get out of Los Angeles. “It’s so hard to go out in LA. I’m going to move,” he said. “I’m going to spend a third of my year in New York.” Despite his desire to leave the biz, Ryan has come out with two movies already this year, The Lincoln Lawyer and The Bang Bang Club.

Scruff or no scruff, smile or no smile, Ryan Gosling melts hearts every time he hits the red carpet. Following his dramatic film Blue Valentine in 2010, Ryan is set to star in three films in 2011: Drive, The Ides of March and Crazy, Stupid, Love.
