Farrah Fawcett would have celebrated her 66th birthday today.

The iconic actress and model with the famous megawatt smile died of cancer on June 25, 2009, with her partner Ryan O’Neal and her best friend Alana Stewart by her side.

“I still think about Farrah every day — she remains an inspiration to both myself and a lot of other people who knew her,” Stewart told Celebuzz exclusively.

Stewart, 67, who helps run The Farah Fawcett Foundation, misses her dear friend and the memorable birthday parties she used to host for her every year.

And she will talk to Fawcett’s longtime love O’Neal today about the woman who played such an important part in both their lives.

“I will speak with Ryan to reflect with him on Farrah. We both really miss not being able to celebrate her birthday with her,” revealed Stewart, who was married to rock legend Rod Stewart, with whom she has two children, Kimberly, 33, and Sean, 32, who happens to be dating much-older Beverly Hills housewife Adrienne Maloof, 51. She also has a son Ashley Hamilton, 38, with ex-husband, actor George Hamilton.

“Farrah used to love the birthday parties I would throw for her because she really liked to have fun and knew how to enjoy herself.”

And there are two things Stewart will never forget about her BFF.

“I miss her sense of fun and the conversations and companionship we shared. She was truly a great and loyal friend,” she added.

“Both Ryan and their son Redmond O’Neal are doing well just now and Farrah would be really happy about that. But the reality is that we all still really miss her.”

Both Stewart and O’Neal combined to produce Farrah’s Story over three years ago that documented the TV star’s brave battle with cancer — and was watched by nearly nine million viewers when it aired on NBC.

Stewart has continued to celebrate her friend’s life through The Farah Fawcett Foundation that has helped to fund much-needed work in the field of cancer research.

“The foundation is a living testimony to what a brave person Farrah Fawcett was and we are using that memory to continue the fight against the disease that took my friend and that has affected so many other millions of other people.”

Today, the Alex and Ani store at 150 Worth Avenue, Suite 119, in Palm Beach, Florida, will co-host a Charmed By Charity shopping event in Palm Beach to mark Fawcett’s birthday anniversary and to benefit The Farrah Fawcett Foundation.

Armani Beauty celebrity makeup artist Tim Quinn, a cancer survivor who had worked with Fawcett over the years, will co-host the event.

Ryan O’Neal has suffered a setback in his legal battle against the University of Texas and its lawsuit over ownership of an Andy Warhol portrait of the actor’s longtime lover, Farrah Fawcett.

In a judgment handed down on Wednesday and obtained by Celebuzz, Los Angeles Superior Court judge Maureen Duff-Lewis rejected the 71-year-old actor’s motion to dismiss the case and ordered the case to go to trial next month.

The university sued the actor in August 2011, claiming the portrait — said to be worth up to $30 million — belongs to the school because Fawcett agreed to have all her artwork donated, after her 2009 death at the age of 62, to her alma mater.

The judge ruled, “Triable disputed issues of fact exist as to who is the owner of the portrait and of the Warhol napkin; triable issues of facts as to whether there was consent, acquiescence and/or ratification by the University of Texas.”

In August, O’Neal fired back at the college in a sworn declaration and bid to have the case tossed before trial.

“I am shocked and appalled that the University of Texas has alleged that I [stole] the Warhol portrait, which was a gift from my good friend, the late Andy Warhol,” O’Neal said.

The portrait of the Charlie’s Angels star was spotted hanging above O’Neal’s bed inside his Malibu, Calif. home in an episode of his reality TV show, Ryan and Tatum: The O’Neals.

Warhol made two portraits of Fawcett in 1980. After her death one print was delivered to the Austin campus, but the other never materialized.

Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O’Neal opens up about his tumultuous, sometimes tragic, personal life in his new memoir Both of Us: My Life With Farrah, in which he documents his entire relationship with actress Farrah Fawcett, as well as his struggles with his four children.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight that aired on Tuesday, O’Neal — the actor who starred in such movies as Love Story and Paper Moon — recalled a particularly painful moment documented in the book, in which the couple’s only son, Redmond, threatened to stab himself with a knife. The reason: Ryan and Farrah were fighting yet again, and Redmond simply wanted them to stop.

It gets worse …

“So, we stopped,” Ryan said, through tears.

Redmond is currently serving a one-year sentence in a rehab center after he pleaded no contest to felony gun and heroin possession, last August. In September, Redmond had his probation provoked, when he admitted to using narcotics in the rehab facility.

At a hearing in March, a Los Angeles County judge praised Redmond’s progress in rehab, and said he would delay sentencing on his probation violation if Redmond, 27, continues to do well.

Meanwhile, in the his interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ryan gave an update on his relationships with his three other children: Patrick, Tatum and Griffin.

“I have a great relationship with Patrick,” he said. “Tatum is a work in progress, but Griffin is gone. He’s gone. You can’t win them all.”

“They were difficult to raise and hold onto Farrah at the same time,” he added.”

Ryan, 71,– who is currently battling prostate cancer — had Tatum and Griffin with his first wife, actress Joanna Moore, and Patrick with his second wife, Leigh Taylor-Young.

Farrah died in June 29 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 62.

In the September issue of Vanity Fair, O’Neal admits that he hit on his own daughter, Tatum. The best part about it? He did so at the July funeral of his longtime companion, Farrah Fawcett.

“I had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me,” O’Neal recalls. “I said to her, ‘You have a drink on you? You have a car?’ She said, ‘Daddy, it’s me—Tatum!’ I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it’s my daughter. It’s so sick.”

Wow. Suddenly, Hulk Hogan‘s hands-on relationship with his daughter Brooke looks like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting. We’d ask O’Neal what he’s been smoking, but we suspect we already know.

Farrah Fawcett, who died last Thursday at the age of 62 following a long battle with cancer, received a send-off filled with loved ones at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles on Tuesday, E! Online reports.

The funeral, which began at 4 p.m., was attended by her longtime beau Ryan O’Neal, Alana Stewart, her ex-husband Lee Majors, former Charlie’s Angels co-star Kate Jackson, novelist Jackie Collins and actress Joan Collins, among many others. 

O’Neal, who was scheduled to read the 23rd Psalm during the ceremony, was also one of the pall bearers.

Stewart and oncologist Dr. Lawrence Piro delivered eulogies.

Ryan O’Neal says that he and Farrah Fawcett are finally planning on tying the knot.

The couple has been together since 1980 and he has been by her side every step of the way since she has taken ill with cancer.

In a new interview with 20/20 airing Friday, O’Neal says that while she is “Fighting for her life, I’ve asked her to marry me, again, and she’s agreed.”

He went on, “I used to ask her to marry me all the time. But … it just got to be a joke, you know. We just joked about it.”

O’Neal still has his sense of humor. When asked what he will be wearing to the ceremony, he joked that he will be dressed “like a gigolo.” “You know? And a little thin mustache and slicked-back hair. I don’t know. We have fun, we tease about that.”

Redmond O’Neal, the troubled son of actor Ryan O’Neal and cancer-stricken former Charlie’s Angels star Farrah Fawcett, was granted a little temporary freedom to visit his sick mother on Friday.

In Touch reports that O’Neal was allowed out of Twin Towers correctional facility on May 15—the same day that the Fawcett documentary Farrah’s Story aired—to pay a visit to her.

This is the second time he’s been allowed out spend time with his mother, who’s currently struggling with anal cancer—the first time was on April 25, during a visit that was recorded for the documentary itself.

It may also be the last time that the 25-year-old, who’s racked up numerous drug charges in the past couple of years, gets to see Fawcett. Ryan O’Neal reportedly told friends recently, “Farrah’s condition has gotten worse in the last couple of days.”

Ryan O’Neal is in legal hot water again—and this time it’s not because of his apparent appreciation for controlled substances.

Radar Online reports that 20-year-old “family friend” Dania Marin is seeking a restraining order against the 68-year-old actor, alleging that O’Neal made some highly inappropriate suggestions to her. 

According to court papers filed by Marin, O’Neal “asked me if I wanted to masturbate with him. Offered me a car back if I would engage with him.”

Someone pass the brain bleach, please.

The incident allegedly occurred on May 6, two days before the filing of the request for the restraining order.

All of this comes at a time when Farrah Fawcett, O’Neal’s longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend and mother to his son Redmond O’Neal, is battling cancer. Not to mention Redmond’s own entanglements with the law.

Good times, good times.

A hearing on Marin’s request is scheduled for June 17 at Los Angeles Superior Court.

Ryan O’Neal is apparently ready to let his son Redmond learn an important life lesson.

Radar Online reports that the actor won’t be posting the $75,000 bail that Redmond incurred from his drug-possession arrest on Sunday—meaning that he could be staying in the pokey for the next two weeks.

“Redmond won’t be leaving jail anytime soon,” a family source says. “Redmond could remain in custody until his next court date on April 24th. His dad won’t be bailing him out. There is no chance that Redmond’s friends would be bailing him out either  as they don’t have the financial capability to do so.”

Redmond, the 24-year-old son of Ryan and actress Farrah Fawcett, was busted on Sunday while attempting to visit an incarcerated acquaintance at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California. Redmond was allegedly found in possession of heroin and Xanax, and was booked on two felony counts of suspicion of possession of narcotics and bringing narcotics into a jail.

The O’Neal family seems to be plagued by substance-abuse problems. Ryan and Redmond were arrested in September for suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. The elder O’Neal was sentenced to an 18-month drug program in January.

In addition to this latest family hardship, Redmond’s mother, Farrah Fawcett—who’s been struggling with cancer for the past few years—was hospitalized last week, and it was announced that the cancer had spread to her liver.

Will Redmond O’Neal ever learn?

The son of Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett has once again been arrested for drug possession. In a not entirely bright move, O’Neal was visiting an incarcerated friend at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California, on Sunday when he was stopped in a routine car search. Police reported that O’Neal was acting erratically when they talked to him, and that he openly admitted to being in possession of narcotics.

Radar Online has learned that Redmon was in possession of heroin and Xanax, and has been booked on two felony counts: Suspicion of possession of narcotics and bringing narcotics into a jail. His bail stands at $25,000 after his Tuesday hearing.

Redmond was arrested in September 2008, along with his father, when the two were found with meth in their home. He missed an arraignment for the 2008 drug bust in February in Malibu and was issued a bench warrant for his arrest.

This arrest comes with the heart-breaking news that his mother is in critical condition in the hospital. Fawcett, who has been battling cancer since 2006, checked into a Los Angeles-area medical facility on Thursday.

Actor Ryan O’Neal is beloved and admired for his work alongside the likes of Barbra Streisand, Ali MacGraw and Barbra Streisand again.

But the most important role of his 67-year-old life may be joining his daughter Tatum O’Neal (who won an Oscar working alongside him in 1973′s Paper Moon) and his son Redmond O’Neal in a united battle against substance abuse.

The elder O’Neal was sentenced in Los Angeles Friday morning to an 18-month drug program.  The sentencing stems from a September 23, 2008, arrest of Ryan and his son, 23-year-old Redmond, on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.

Law officials had come to the O’Neal home in Malibu to check on Redmond’s probation status. Redmond’s possession case will be heard on February 20.

Ryan’s daughter, 45-year-old Tatum, was arrested last year in June in Manhattan on suspicion of trying to buy crack. That wake-up call, according to Tatum, caused the Oscar-winner to recommit to her own sobriety.

The arrest of her dad and brother, seeming at first to be the next chapter in an ongoing family tragedy, may hopefully turn out to be an answer to Tatum’s prayers.

Redmond O’Neal‘s less-than-stellar fall just keeps spiraling down. Maybe that’s why he felt the need to hit up the Country Liquor store today in Malibu after his latest court appearance?

Back in September, actor Ryan O’Neal, 67, and his 24-year-old son Redmond were arrested for possession of methamphetamine at Ryan’s Malibu, California, home.

His half-sister Tatum O’Neal told People in September, “I’m praying for both of them. I’m praying for my whole family. I hope Red will get treatment. That’s what he needs.”

Now the AFP reports that a plea hearing for both Ryan and Redmond was postponed until January 9, 2009.

Hopefully that blue can from the liquor store in Red’s hand is just a Pepsi. The last thing he needs right now is to add even more charges to his rap sheet!

Tatum O’Neal is currently the most sober O’Neal which isn’t saying much since the actress and ex-wife of tennis star John McEnroe was busted for buying crack and cocaine back in June.

Still considering that her younger brother Redmond, 24, and her Pop, Ryan, 67, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine on Wednesday, Tatum’s near summer long sobriety is quite a feat. If it’s true.

Tatum opened up to People about her wishes for her little brother: “I’m praying for both of them. I’m praying for my whole family. I hope Red will get treatment. That’s what he needs. There is hope for Redmond. He deserves to have the life a [young man] – going to school, hanging out with friends, getting a job. I wish the best for him.”

As for Tatum’s own recovery, she told the magazine: “I’m sober. I thank God every day I have been able to overcome my demons and my stuff.”

And she will be fine so long as long as none of her pets die on her any time soon.

And this morning, Ryan and his 24-year-old son, Redmond O’Neal, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine at the actor’s Malibu, California, home.

According to the Los Angeles Times, police were conducting a probation search on Redmond—who was arrested for carrying heroin and meth in a DUI bust last year—at the O’Neal manse shortly after 7:00 this morning. The search turned up methamphetamine on Redmond’s person, along with a vial of the substance in Ryan’s bedroom.

The two were taken to the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s station and booked.  Both O’Neals were released on $10,000 bail each.

No word on whether or not Bijou Phillips came to their rescue.

Her memoir said using drugs was in her DNA, but that she had beaten the beast. Now, the animal has bitten Tatum O’Neal once again.

The 44-year-old actress, ex-wife of tennis star John McEnroe and mother of three was busted June 1 by New York City cops, after she was seen handing money to a known drug dealer.

The arrest, part of what officers called a routine street sweep, occurred about 7:30 p.m. near her East Broadway apartment. After the transaction, officers found one bag of crack cocaine, one of regular coke and a clean crack pipe. Guess the party hadn’t started yet.

The New York Daily News said Tatum initially told cops she was doing research for a movie role, then crumbled under the pressure.

“I’ve been clean for a long time,” she reportedly said. “Today was the first time I was relapsing, but you guys saved me! Can you let me go?”

She was charged with a misdemeanor—seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance—and released. The alleged seller, Allen Garcia, was also taken in for felony sale of a controlled substance.

O’Neal’s arrest comes on the heels of her memoir, A Paper Life, in which she described herself as a child of both privilege and dysfunction. She cited early and rampant drug use by both of her parents, as well as abuse, orgies and a memorable makeout session with Michael Jackson.

During her 2006 stint on Dancing with the Stars, O’Neal, the youngest person ever to win an Oscar, felt together enough to dole out advice for Britney Spears, who also had just lost custody of her kids. “I went through my problems, too,” she told Entertainment Tonight, “and I relate to her…I had to realize that I had to take my own responsibility for everything.”

Looks like Tatum’s had a change of heart.
