Twilight fans kept Breaking Dawn — Part 2 at the top of the box office for the second weekend in a row, leading to the biggest Thanksgiving weekend ever.

Daniel Craig’s Skyfall and Ang Lee’s Life of Pi also delivered big business.

The final film in the Twilight saga scored $43 million over the weekend, for a total of $64 million over the five-day holiday frame – enough to retain the number one spot for the second week in a row.

Breaking Dawn — Part 2, starring Kristen Stewart, has earned $200 million in the U.S. as of Monday, bringing its worldwide total to a franchise-high of $577 million.

In it’s third frame, Skyfall earned $34 million over the weekend, making the 23^rd James Bond film the first 007 picture to hit $200 million in the U.S. Directed by Sam Mendes, Skyfall’s current worldwide box office rests at an impressive $790 million.

Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln continued to show great legs at the U.S. box office, securing the No. 3 spot with $25 million. Dreamworks’ Rise of the Guardians, considered to be a major player at the Thanksgiving box office, came in at No. 4, with a less-than-expected take of $24 million.

Meanwhile, 20^th Century Fox’s adaptation of the novel Life of Pi exceeded expectations, scoring a fifth-place finish with $22 million in three days. The 3D film was expected to gross $20 million for the entire holiday period, a total it cleared in its first three days.  Currently, Pi’s five-day total sits at $30.2 million.

MGM’s long-delayed remake of Red Dawn opened at No. 7, with a 3-day tally of $14 million ($22 million over five days).

Next weekend finds Brad Pitt’s crime thriller, Killing Me Softly, competing with Team Edward and James Bond for box office supremacy.  Killing opens Friday, November 30.

Instead of utilizing the conventional channels of auditions, agents and carefully-orchestrated meetings, Skyfall beauty Berenice Marlohe used the power of Social Media over the casting couch to become the latest James Bond girl, Celebuzz can reveal.

The 33-year-old French stunner — who plays femme fatale Severine opposite British hunk Daniel Craig — was determined to land her dream part after becoming mesmerized by Grace Jones in A View To A Kill back in 1985.

And despite the fact that a whole slew of better known actresses and models were ahead of her in the line to audition for director Sam Mendes, crafty Berenice was the one to land the dream role.

“Berenice used Facebook to contact Mendes agent and sent him some footage of her acting. This was then forwarded to the casting agent for the movie before a meeting with the director was set-up and the rest is history,” a Skyfall insider tells Celebuzz.

“Ironically, at 5 foot, 9 inch tall she lost out on a lot of roles in her native France because of her height and the fact that she has such a strong presence but Mendes believed she was perfect to play sultry and adventurous Severine.

“Now, she’s planning to re-locate to Los Angeles full-time to try and cement her career in Hollywood and with glowing references from the likes of Mendes and Craig it looks like she is set to become the next big female European import to conquer Tinseltown.”

The former painter and pianist is currently working on Terence Malick’s as yet untitled film starring A-listers like Natalie Portman, Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, Christian Bale, and Michael Fassbender.

Skyfall has well and truly put the Bond franchise back on the global map — making it to number one in 25 overseas markets and raking in an impressive $77.7 million in it’s opening weekend in the U.S.

Forget spring cleaning — Kate Winslet is getting ready for fall by getting rid of some excess bagage.

Winslet, 36, split from director Sam Mendes, 47, in 2010, and now it seems the couple’s New York City penthouse is on the market for a cool $30,000 a month. Mendes signed over the apartment to his Oscar winning ex-wife for $2.15 million, reports the New York Daily News.

The four-bedroom, five-bath Penthouse A has a 1,700-square-foot terrace and 12 oversized corner windows overlooking New York City’s iconic Chelsea neighborhood.

What else does it boast? 

The A-list duplex has 13-foot ceilings, a main living space that stretches nearly 47 feet long and a closet that would make even Carrie Bradshaw giddy. The location is perfect for any art lover, as the neighborhood is home to the city’s bustling art scene.

Book readers will be pleased to know the apartment features a long wall of built-in book cases and a central wood-burning fireplace perfect for a cozy night in. And for a glimpse of the outdoors, Winslet’s duplex has a 1,700 square foot wrap around terrace — with the perfect view of the Hudson River.

Winslet’s center-island kitchen has birch-colored, flat-fronted cabinetry, a long snack bar, suitable for her two young children, and super-sized stainless steel appliances.

The couple bought the apartment for $4.995 million in 2004.

Prepare to be shaken and stirred, James Bond fans.

After experiencing financial woes that threatened to put the venerable Bond spy-movie series on ice, MGM issued a press release today indicating that the 23rd installment of the big-screen saga is indeed a go—with some very specific and encouraging details.

According to MGM, Daniel Craig will reprise the role of the super-suave British spy, despite initial questions as to his availability. Working behind the camera will be Jarhead and Road to Perdition director Sam Mendes, who will inherit helmsman duties from Solace’s Marc Foster. Veteran Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, meanwhile, will be joined by The Aviator writer John Logan to pen the script.

Five months after announcing her split from director Sam Mendes, Kate Winslet is stepping out with a new squeeze, British model Louis Dowler. The Oscar-winner and Titanic star walked hand-in-hand with with Dowler Saturday night in London’s Soho, where the new couple hit hot spot club, Mahiki. Winslet, a mom of two, looked sexy while flashing a fair amount of leg in a little black dress, while Dowler, who has modeled for Burberry, revealed that he has fantastic hair.

It’s the news every English thespian geek has been waiting to hear: Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes are getting back together.

Or are they? PopEater reports that the two will be spending summer together in one of their country homes in order to “reignite their spark.”

The couple announced that they were divorcing less than four months ago. The Oscar-winning duo met in 2001 and married in 2003. They have one child together.

Oscar-winning actresses Sandra Bullock and Kate Winslet are currently in the news for their crumbling marriages and it has brought back talk of the rumored “Oscar Curse.” It goes like this: when a female actress wins an Oscar, her marriage or relationship will fall apart within the next few years. The Curse is infamous around Hollywood and is almost as feared by actresses as visible signs of premature aging.

Reasons for the splits vary: from the male significant other’s jealousy (we’re looking at you, Ryan Phillipe) to simply growing apart. We weren’t sure if we believe that the Oscar Curse is really true, but there are a surprising number of famous Oscar-winning women whose relationships broke up in the wake of their Oscar win. In other celebrity breakup news: rumors are coming up that the reason behind the split between director Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet might be Mendes’ relationship with 27-year-old Vicky Christina Barcelona actress Rebecca Hall. Winslet reportedly became “frustrated” with Mendes’ relationship with Hall, whom he met in 2006 and spent the past year working with for dual theatre productions of The Cherry Orchard and A Winter’s Tale for The Bridge Project. Take note, ladies: if there is one thing that gets the guys going, it’s brainy theatre productions.

Winslet felt that Mendes’ friendship with Hall was going a little too far and was uncomfortable because, as a friend of Winslet’s reported, Hall is “totally Sam’s type–a thespian mix of brains and beauty.” However, a source close to Mendes says that “to insinuate that there is anything further in the friendship is taking it too far.” Leave it to the Brits to make a tawdry divorce scandal sound intellectual.

But don’t blame everything on Hall just yet: A close friend of Winslet’s says that Winslet and Mendes had a tough conversation where Mendes reportedly told her that he can’t be in one relationship for the rest of his life since he didn’t find it “inspiring.” Oh, is that what a marriage is supposed to be about, your need for creative inspiration? Maybe that is just a fancy-pants British way of saying: “Look, I just really want to sleep with this young actress who isn’t you.”

While it seems like love is definitely in the air in Hollywood these days with the recent engagements of Hilary Duff and Simon Cowell, another Hollywood marriage has bit the dust. This time, its happened to Titanic sweetheart Kate Winslet!

The Oscar winner has split with husband of almost seven years, director Sam Mendes. Their mutual lawyer has confirmed the breakup.

“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.”

“They ask that the media respect the privacy of the family.”

With Revolutionary Road scoring so many awards and nominations, actress Kate Winslet and her director/husband Sam Mendes are doing a lot of traveling lately.

Just don’t expect them to travel together.

The Daily Mail reports that Winslet, 33, and Mendes, 43—who starred in and directed Revolutionary Road, respectively—avoid being passengers on the same airplane whenever possible.

Marital discord at work? No, they just want to make sure that Kate’s kids—Mia, 8, and Joe, 5—aren’t orphaned in case one of them is in a plane crash.

If it sounds like paranoia on the couple’s part, it’s a partially justified paranoia.

According to a friend of the director’s, Mendes was booked to fly on American Airlines Flight 77, which was crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Prior to the flight, the director was forced to change plans due to scheduling issues.

Winslet, meanwhile, was on a British Airways flight from London to Dallas with daughter Mia in October 2001.  A passenger claiming to be an Islamic terrorist stood up on the plane and bellowed, “We are all going to die!”

(The passenger, 29-year-old Youri Kanounnikoff, from France, was eventually charged with creating mischief, endangering life and uttering threats.)

Consequently, the two are understandably skittish when it comes to air travel.

“Where possible, Kate and Sam do prefer to travel in separate planes,” says a spokesperson for the couple. “It is not always possible but, for obvious reasons regarding the children, they do travel separately when they can.”

Why not just stop flying commercial? If a self-professed lousy actress like Nicole Kidman warrants a private jet, surely the eternal star and director of one of the year’s biggest hits do too.

Kate Winslet, 33, and Leonardo DiCaprio, 34, wowed their London fans on the red carpet as only genetically perfect master thespians can.

The stylish co-stars were in London at the Odeon Leicester Square last night to premiere their Golden Globe-winning flick, Revolutionary Road.

It’s the tragic story of a couple in the 1950s trying to cope with the responsibilities and expectations of married life after they move to the suburbs.

The Oprah Winfrey-approved Winslet wowed the gawkers in a Narciso Rodriguez creation (he designed Michelle Obama‘s dress for her speech at the Democratic National Convention) that was topped off with streamlined Chopard earrings.

The center of Winslet’s dress invited the general public in to verify that her curves are very, very real.

The mother of two told Britain’s GMTV recently that she’s spending so much time with Leonardo while publicizing their movie that she’s starting to think of him as her actual husband.

Kate says that DiCaprio “feels more like my husband than my real husband, I have to say. I’m talking about him so much!”

Her husband, Road director Sam Mendes, doesn’t seem to mind. Even when they were filming Kate’s sex scenes with Leo.

It seems as if Kate had more of a problem with that particular shooting day.

Kate Winslet? Work out at a gym? She’d sooner go down with the Titanic.

“I have cellulite, I don’t go to the gym because I don’t have time but I do Pilates work out DVDs for 20 minutes or more everyday at home,” Golden Globe nominee Winslet, 33, explains in the February U.K. edition of Elle.

The Berkshire, England-born babe teams up once again with her best pal Leonardo DiCaprio, 34, in the drama Revolutionary Road, out now in theaters in a limited release. The film is directed by her husband, Sam Mendes, 43.

“What I love about Revolutionary Road is that, up close you see all the scars, wrinkles and lines on my face and on Leo’s. I was nudging Leo saying, ‘Look, our faces move!’” Kate tells the mag.

Winslet was noticeably irked when British tabloids claimed photos of her were touched up for a recent Vanity Fair cover shoot.

Perhaps to cut off any more such rumors before they start, the actress tells Elle that her skin-baring scenes in Revolutionary Road are all her.

Kate also makes liberal use of her body’s contours and curves in The Reader, in which she plays a suspected Nazi war criminal with a taste for much younger lovers.  Rest assured that what’s shown on the screen is all Kate.

“There are two things I’ve never been offered: one is cocaine, the other is a body double,” Winslet notes.

Last night, Kate Winslet, 34, and Leonardo DiCaprio, 35, attended the premiere of their new film, Revolutionary Road, at the Mann Village in Los Angeles. The new film about suburban angst in America marks the first time the two have worked together since their global super smash Titanic in 1997.

It’s also the first time Kate has worked with her director husband of five years, Sam Mendes, 43.

Kate has already spoken of the “meltdown” she had when having to perform love scenes with DiCaprio directed by her husband.

The movie, in which Winslet and DiCaprio play a troubled couple in 1950s New England, is far and away a different thing from the “My Heart Will Go On” romance of Titanic.

“This is not the movie that most people expected to see,” DiCaprio told InStyle. “But that was part of the idea.”

Revolutionary Road has already been nominated for a Best Picture Golden Globe, and Kate and Leo are up for best actress and actor.

Winslet, who was accused by the British press of having had her image airbrushed in a recent Vanity Fair profile, looked slim and stunning in a black Balmain dress with a jeweled shoulder strap along with Christian Louboutin peep toe heels.

The profile, ironically, mentioned the intense media focus on Winslet’s fluctuating weight and how she felt that she was one of the only “fat” actresses in Hollywood after her breakout Titanic role.

Winslet’s representative denied any image alteration in the magazine, and the rep was obviously in the right.

After a hectic week of lost wallets, checking in with on-and-off girlfriend Bar Refaeli and inching closer to award season, Leonardo DiCaprio enjoyed some male bonding on Friday night at a Los Angeles Lakers game.

DiCaprio, 34, scooped his fellow actor pal Lukas Haas, 32, and partook in courtside seats for the game. Leo sipped a cold one and munched on concessions, dressed casually in a black hoodie, baseball cap and cross-trainers.
