The security guard who was allegedly shoved by a foul-mouthed Sam Worthington may press charges against the Avatar star, following a reported drunken incident over the weekend.

“I don’t know,” Vortex restaurant security guard Jerry Link told Celebuzz exclusively.  “I couldn’t even tell you that. I have to talk to the company I work with first to see how we handle that.”

Worthington was originally charged with disorderly conduct by Atlanta police after the incident; the charges were dismissed because the witness was a no-show in court.

According to Link, Worthington put his hands on him three times.

“He bumped into me first, then he shoved me in the chest twice,” he says.

Link reveals that the 36-year-old Australian-born star looked more like one of the homeless people who frequent the Atlanta area where the restaurant is located — and not a famous actor.

“We see all sorts of people in the area. He had on a hoodie, dingy basketball shorts, and had a handful of loose shirts in his hand,” he said. “We get lots of homeless people and drunk college kids. I would never have thought he was an entertainer.”

In addition, Link’s observations of the actor were of someone “way over the limit.”

“I know when a person is intoxicated,” he said. “He was walking down the street staggering and he couldn’t stand up straight. He approached the entryway, and I told him we weren’t going to be serving him.”

That’s when the actor turned “belligerent” and Link says Worthington started “threatening” him. “He told me to get out of his way and was screaming profanities, like ‘F**k you! I’m coming in!’ He told me that he’d get through and was arguing with another customer. I told him, ‘You don’t want to go to jail for something stupid.’ He said ‘I’m not going to jail.’”

Link pepper-sprayed the actor, who was subsequently arrested shortly after 10 p.m. Nov. 3.

“He didn’t actually calm down until he realized he was going to jail,” Link said.

As previously reported, the venue told Celebuzz it was making no comment about the incident.

Worthington bonded out on $453 bail.

Avatar star Sam Worthington was “falling off balance” in the moments before he was refused entry to an Atlanta restaurant and bar on Saturday night, according to an Atlanta Police Department report obtained by Celebuzz.

The officer who arrested and charged 36-year-old Worthington with disorderly conduct wrote that a witness to the incident, Andrew Hammac, told law enforcement that the foul-mouthed star of Terminator Salvation, Clash of the Titans and Avatar pushed a security guard twice.

The victim, Jerry Link, told cops he refused Worthington entry to the venue “due to the fact that he was highly intoxicated.”

“Mr. Link tried to converse with Mr. Samuel by attempting to let him know why he could not enter,” officer Moss wrote in the incident report.

The officer added, “Mr. Link then stated that Mr. Samuel was being disorderly verbally by using profane language. Mr. Link also stated that Mr. Samuel pushed him twice with his hands. At that time Mr. Link pepper-sprayed Mr. Samuel and handcuffed him until the police arrived.”

The arrest happened shortly after 10 p.m.; charges against the Australian-born actor were dismissed Monday because the witness was a no-show in court.

The report reads as follows:

“He advised me that the male who was detained by security had been pepper sprayed. I then spoke to Security office who sprayed and detained Mr. Samuel Worthington. Security Officer Jerry Link stated that while he was on duty at the Vortex he observed Mr. Samuel walking on the side walk. According to Mr. Link, Mr. Samuel appeared falling off balance while he was talking towards the Vortex restaurant. Mr. Link then stated that he advised Mr. Samuel that he could not enter the Vortex due to the fact that he was highly intoxicated. After Mr. Link tried to converse with Mr. Samuel by attempting to let him know why he could not enter. Mr. Link then stated that Mr. Samuel was being disorderly verbally by using profane language. Mr. Link also stated that Mr. Samuel pushed him twice with his hands. At that time Mr. Link pepper sprayed Mr. Samuel and hand cuffed him until the police arrived. Mr. Andrew Hammac (witness) stated that he observed Mr. Samuel acting very disrespectful and he appeared to be very drunk. Mr. Hammac also advised that he saw Mr. Samuel push Mr. Link two times. Mr. Samuel was taken into custody.”

As previously reported, the venue told Celebuzz it was making no comment about the incident.

Australian-born actor Sam Worthington was arrested in Atlanta on Saturday for allegedly fighting in a bar, Celebuzz has confirmed.

Police say that Worthington, 36, was refused entrance to the venue Vortex because security at the door believed he was too intoxicated. He’s been charged with disorderly conduct and was bonded out on $453 bail.

Worthington — best known for the portrayals of Jake Sully in Avatar, Marcus Wright in Terminator Salvation and Perseus in Clash of the Titans and its sequel, Wrath of the Titans — allegedly pushed the doorman twice and the doorman responded by pepper spraying him and putting him in cuffs until the cops arrived.

TMZ reports the incident was caught on surveillance video.

A spokesperson for Vortex told Celebuzz the venue was not making any comment.

When Superman Returns was auditioning for the role of Clark Kent, the filmmakers has a tough time locking down a rising young actor as none of them wanted to be tied down to a multi-picture commitment that could last a decade or more — not to mention be typecast as fanboy-bait. No wonder actors were leery of franchise films in general.

However, actors today are so eager to star in franchise movies that several performers are even starring in more than one franchise. Take Chris Pine, for instance: Though he has a solid starring role in the Star Trek movies as the young James Kirk, he also started filming Jack Ryan, a film meant to reboot the Tom Clancy spy franchise with the 32-year-old playing the title CIA agent.

Why do actors suddenly want to be in a franchise, let alone two? For one, the pay is good and sequels mean a guaranteed paycheck for years.

For another, they’re almost surefire hits, which in turn make an actor marketable for other movies. And if an actor is in more than one film, he can avoid being typecast; the impulsive, intuitive James Kirk bears little resemblance to the cool, analytical Jack Ryan.

So who else is juggling multiple franchises?

Pine is just one of many stars handling two or more franchises right now.

There’s also Daniel Craig, who has both the James Bond movies and the Millennium trilogy, which started with 2011′s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Robert Downey Jr. is actually working on three franchises now. Besides starring as Tony Stark in the Iron Man and Avengers films and the titular character in Guy Richie‘s Sherlock Holmes series, he’s also signed a deal last fall to play Perry Mason, in what would presumably be a series of movies about the sleuthing defense attorney.

Unemployable a decade ago because his past drug history had made him uninsurable, Downey seems to be making up for lost time and taking advantage of his current box office popularity while it lasts.

Such multitasking seems to come into vogue about once a decade. Ten years ago, the Lord of the Rings movies featured several actors (Christopher Lee, Ian McKellen, and Hugo Weaving) who were working on other franchise movies at the same time — Lee had the Star Wars prequels, McKellen the X-Men movies, and Weaving the Matrix trilogy.

Before that, the 1980s were a heyday for franchise-jugglers like Harrison Ford (who alternated between Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies) and Sylvester Stallone, who developed the Rocky and Rambo franchises.

Nowadays, actors are worried about being thrown out of work altogether by digitization, as movies like Avatar seem to herald a future when actors are replaceable by pixels. No wonder so many stars are taking the path of Avatar’s Sam Worthington, who’s switching back and forth between his role in James Cameron’s otherworldly franchise and his Perseus in the Titans movies. From ancient Greece to the interstellar future, he’s got his bases covered for the next few years.

After the triumphant opening, the focus has now switched to this weekend’s box office battle and Celebuzz has your early look at the contenders. Let’s take a peek.

Two very big — yet very different — fantasy films go head to head.  First up we have Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to 2010′s Clash of the Titans.  

This installment focuses on Perseus (Sam Worthington) as he tries to live a quiet life with his 10-year-old son, Helius (John Bell).  Meanwhile, a battle of power rages between the Gods and the Titans, played by Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes.

In another fantasy world, we have the first of two Snow White adaptations to be released this year, Mirror Mirror.  

 The film stars Lily Collins as Snow White, Armie Hammer as Prince Charming — and Julia Roberts as the evil queen. This version is much lighter and more fun than the darker Snow White and the Huntsmen, which releases in June.  Mirror Mirror looks to be quite the romp and is bound to be a family favorite.

From the less fantasy, more real category, this weekend sees the premiere of the documentary Bully.  

The much-hyped docu-film follows the lives of various teenagers as they deal with bullying in schools. This eye-opening view into the world of teens and bullies is a must see for anyone who is unaware of the severity of this national dilemma.

Hey all, you might have heard, but there was this little thing called the Golden Globes on Sunday, which is one of the rare opportunities for show-bizzers to reward themselves for a job well done.

Behold! The trailer for James Cameron‘s upcoming epic-to-be, Avatar, has been released, along with a handful of cool new stills from the production.

Due in theaters on December 18, the film, which stars Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi and Zoe Saldana, follows paraplegic war veteran Jake Sully (Worthington) as he travels to another planet to work with a mining operation and finds himself at odds with the local population.

The first official still from James Cameron‘s insanely anticipated movie Avatar has made its way onto the Web, via Slash Film.

The still depicts Sam Worthington as paraplegic war veteran Jake Sully, who travels to another planet to work with a mining operation, only to find himself tangling with the local population.

Avatar, which also stars Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi and Zoe Saldana, hits theaters on December 18.
