Lady Gaga is being asked to make amends for wearing an assault-rifle bra in concert last week — by a man who barely survived the Columbine shooting.

“She should apologize if she upset people, because the climate surrounding guns is highly emotional right now,” Richard Castaldo told Celebuzz. “It is in poor taste and does not seem like the best time to do something like that.”

Castaldo was one of the first students to be shot by evil gunmen Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris in the April 1999 massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado. Twelve students and one teacher died that day; 21 others were hurt. Castaldo remains paralyzed from his injuries.

Gaga’s gun-blazing appearance at a Vancouver, Canada, concert on Saturday came only a month after gunman Adam Lanza killed 20 children and six teachers at an elementary school in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. The 26-year-old singer paired the bizarre bra with green military trousers and platform boots to open the North American leg of her Born This Way Ball tour.

“The timing was insensitive, and people will be offended by something like that,” Castaldo said. “If you go to a Lady Gaga concert, you expect that kind of thing. But I just hope that she was not making light of a real-life tragedy, because Sandy Hook was very sad.”

A representative from the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence agrees that the singer made a mistake by donning the bra.

“Lady Gaga should have used more common sense because she has such a responsibility with her level of fame and is a role model to millions of teenagers around the world,” said Ladd Everitt. “Exactly what was the message here, and why was it necessary in the first place in the current climate regarding guns? I believe she needs to show more respect to her fans.”

Castaldo, meanwhile, is facing yet another uphill battle: his Hollywood condo went into foreclosure at the end of 2012. The 31-year-old says he’s been receiving help from Occupy LA and hopes to prevent a full eviction by Friday. “Hopefully, I will be able to stay in my home, but it has been really stressful for me in recent months,” he said.

Still, he thinks his current misfortunes — and his past ones — pale in comparison to others’.

“Sandy Hook was worse than Columbine because all those little children died,” he said. “I would like the government to ban semi-automatic rifles and to have stricter background checks on gun owners as a result.”

The small New England town will see six more funerals and remembrances on Wednesday, less than a week after Adam Lanza stormed into Sandy Hook and gunned down 26 victims — 20 children and 6 adults — in one of the deadliest school shootings in United States history.

Along with funerals for four children who lost their lives on Friday, Newtown will memorialize Sandy Hook’s beloved principal, Dawn Hochsprung, and first-grade teacher Victoria Soto, who died shielding her students from the gunman.

1. President Barack Obama to lay out plan on gun control.
Following public outcry for tighter gun controls, the POTUS is set to announce Wednesday that Vice President Joe Biden will lead an inter-agency process to develop new policy in the wake of the school massacre.

2. Authorities unable to retrieve information from gunman’s computer.
Adam Lanza apparently smashed his computer and damaged the hard drive, a law enforcement official said according to CNN. The FBI is assisting the Connecticut State Police in the investigation to try to retrieve data.

3. National Rifle Association releases statement on Sandy Hook.
“Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting,” the nation’s leading gu rights lobby said. “The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again.” The group is planning to hold a news conference on Friday.

4. Sandy Hook students won’t return to school until 2013.
Though roughly 4,700 pupils returned to Newtown classrooms on Tuesday, Sandy Hook remains shuts. The victims will never return to the building, now considered a crime scene following Friday’s bloodshed. Now the district is making plans to enroll surviving students at a former school building in the neighboring town of Monroe, Conn. But Sandy Hook students will not resume classes until January.

5. Ke$ha speaks out on “Die Young” controversy.
Just three days after the Sandy Hook mass shooting, Ke$ha’s chart-blazing single “Die Young” lost 19 million listeners in radio play, a sign that stations pulled the hit from airwaves in the wake of the tragedy. Now the pop star is saying she did not want to sing those party-themed lyrics in the first place. “I understand. I had my very own issue with ‘die young’ for this reason,” Ke$ha tweeted on Tuesday, a message that has since been deleted. “I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO.” She later added, “I’m so so so sorry for anyone who has been effected by this tragedy.and I understand why my song is now inappropriate. words cannot express.”

6. Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” pulled from radio playlists.
The group’s hit song about school shootings — which includes lyrics like, “You better run, better run, faster than my bullet” — is getting less airplay in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre. L.A.’s KIIS-FM yanked the tune from rotation, as did the WDAQ radio station in Danbury, Conn.

But in the six Newtown schoolhouses that reopened its doors to roughly 4,700 returning students, tensions are high.

“Obviously, there’s going to be a lot of apprehension. We just had a horrific tragedy,” said Newtown Police Lieutenant George Sinko, according to Reuters. “We had babies sent to school that should be safe and they weren’t. You can’t help but think … if this could happen again.”

1. Ke$ha’s “Die Young” drops on charts.
The pop star’s single ranked at No. 3 on radio playlists on Friday, reaching 167 million listeners across the country, according to figures from Mediabase reported by TMZ. 2. Hollywood is cutting shooting scenes and cancelling premieres.
After calling off the Jack Reacher premiere planned for Saturday in Pittsburg, Pa., Paramount is amending promotional materials for Tom Cruise‘s new action flick, which opens Friday. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that one scene in particular is sure to be scrapped from promotional spots: Cruise’s character shooting a semi-automatic weapon. The Weinstein Co. cancelled the Tuesday night Los Angeles, Calif., premiere of Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino‘s new film starring Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz.

3. ABC pulled murder-filled Scandal episode.
The network took down the mid-season finale of the political thriller TV series from its website in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting. The hour-long episode, which aired Thursday, featured the brutal killing of a family of four. Just after it was made available on ABC.com Monday, it was pulled from the site “out of respect for those affected by the tragic events in Newtown, Conn.” But by Tuesday morning, the episode had been restored on ABC.com.

4. NBC’s The Voice pays tribute.
On Monday night’s episode of the hit singing competition, the contestants, coaches and hosts came together on stage for a rendition of “Hallelujah” in a candle-lit tribute to the Sandy Hook victims. As the group sang somberly, they held white cards emblazoned with names of 26 killed in the massacre.

5. Funerals continue.
On Monday, the Newtown community came together to lay to rest two of the tragedy’s youngest victims, 6-year-old boys Jack Pinto and Noah Pozner. On Tuesday, families and friends will say goodbye to two more children, in funerals for James Mattioli and Jessica Rekos. As the town braces to bury another 22 of their own, residents and visitors have been building makeshift memorials as places to grief together.

“I tried to ring a warning bell about this a decade ago. The disease has only gotten worse,” Moore wrote on Sunday. “But…you feel something different in the air across America tonight, don’t you? And perhaps a few are willing to look at the deeper issue of how this country officially sanctions violence as a means to an end.”

Other celebrities echoed his call for gun control action. Rashida Jones argued that “gun control is our only road to freedom;” Ben Stiller made a bid to “stop the access to guns in our country;” Susan Sarandon encouraged her followers to “let NRA know how you feel;” and Piers Morgan wondered whether President Barack Obama will “have the courage to stand up to the American gun lobby?”

The vigil marked the fourth time in his presidency that Obama has offered solace to a community in the wake of a mass shooting. Before taking the podium for his nationally televised speech, the president met with families of the victims and with the first responders who were on the scene following the shooting.

2. Adam Lanza’s former babysitter is shocked.
“Adam always struck me as a really introverted kid,” Ryan Kraft, who babysat Lanza 10 years ago, told KCAL in Los Angeles, Calif. “He was really really quiet. And whenever we were doing something, whether he was building Legos or playing video games, he was really focused on it, like he was in his own world.” But he never dreamed Lanza would become a mass murderer. “Nothing went through my head,” Kraft told KABC in Los Angeles of his reaction to news of the Sandy Hook shooting. “I just got really sick to my stomach and I just couldn’t think for a while. I was shaking.”

3. Sandy Hook Elementary re-opening remains distant.
Classes were cancelled for Monday. Now the district is making plans to enroll surviving Sandy Hook pupils to a former school building in a neighboring town about 15 minutes away. While work crews got to preparing Chalk Hill Middle School in Monroe, Conn., on Sunday, no date has been set for the children to resume classes. “It is important that the Sandy Hook students get back to school quickly in an environment that is familiar and safe,” James Agostine, Monroe schools superintendent, said in a statement.

4. Imitator sparks panic.
A teenager opened fire at a private medical clinic in Paysandú, Uruguay, on Saturday, admitting to authorities that he was trying to imitate the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting, according to NY Daily News. After the 18-year-old fired three shots, police stepped in and detained the gunman. No one was injured in the incident.

5. Movie premieres postponed.
Tom Cruise‘s new action flick Jack Reacher did not premiere in Pittsburg, Pa., on Saturday as previously planned. “Our hearts go out to all those who lost loved ones,” Paramount Pictures said in a statement, adding that it postponed the red carpet event “out of honour and respect for the families of the victims whose lives were senselessly taken.”  Parental Guidance, the new Billy Crystal and Bette Midler-led comedy, also called off its Los Angeles, Calif., premiere, which was set for Saturday.

6. Morgan Freeman statement was a hoax.
The day following the massacre, a statement blaming the media for sensationalizing the tragedy spread like wildfire across the Internet after it was attributed to actor Morgan Freeman. But the actor’s publicist has said his client never made or posted any such statement. Freeman’s camp is currently trying to determine the origin of the hoax.
