That’s right, ladies. Mr. Gosling wants to see your bum.

But, it’s not quite what you think. Let us explain.

Now that the heartthrob is taking a break from acting (cue tears), he’s stepping behind the camera for his directorial debut of How To Catch A Monster.

The film is being shot in Detroit, Mich. with extras casting director Ryan Hill putting out the word to all locals that “mooning” Gosling could be in their fortuitous future.

Hill writes on his Facebook page:

The movie, also written by Gosling, is scheduled to start filming May 6 with extras being paid $100 a day (not too shabby for getting a glimpse of Gosling all in a day’s work.)

The gritty movie is also looking for a “curvy/plus-size female dancer or two willing to be partially nude/topless” and people for a mosh pit scene.

Starring The Host’s Saoirse Ronan, Christina Hendricks and Gosling’s lady love Eva Mendes, How to Catch a Monster is described as a fantasy noir, suspense and modern day fairytale about a vanishing city where a single mother swept into a dark fantasy underworld, while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.

Sounds like a film we want to see!

The cast that films in the desert together, sticks together. At least, that’s what Saoirse Ronan says.

The Host star tells CB! that she became very close with co-stars Max Irons (Jared Howe) and Jake Abel (Ian O’Shea), who play her onscreen love interests, while filming the sci-fi flick in New Mexico.

“There was nobody there!” Ronan said at The Host‘s Hollywood premiere Tuesday. “There was a Navajo tribe there though in New Mexico who were lovely to us, but we did kind of become like a family.”

“I think if the film’s going well and it’s a nice atmosphere, usually you do anyway. You’re kind of sucked into this bubble,” she added.

“We had a lot of intimate scenes that we did become quite close.”

In fact, the tight-knit trio is something that co-star Diane Kruger, who plays Ronan’s big screen nemesis, missed out on during her scenes — despite being able to drive around in chromed-out cars and hitch a ride in helicopters.

“Well, I didn’t get to make out with Max or Jake, so I get the second best gig,” she tells us.

Although the Twilight saga wrapped up in 2012 with the release of Breaking Dawn – Part 2, author Stephenie Meyer isn’t resting on her laurels or wondering what she’ll do next. Her next project, The Host, arrives in theaters on March 29, and she hopes to recreate to sort of fervor her previous project generated – complete with two new hunks for her female fans to go crazy for.

In a new featurette exclusive to Celebuzz, fans get their first in-depth look at Ian O’Shea (Jake Abel), one of the two leading men (opposite Max Irons) competing for the attention of Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) against the backdrop of the film’s dystopian future.

Abel offers some insights about who his character is, and what he wants – that is, until Stryder shakes up all of his expectations.

“The group I’m a part of is what we believe to be the last pocket of human resistance,” he reveals of his circumstances at the beginning of the film. “[They are] living in the mountains and surviving, barely, day to day.”

Abel says that Stryder presents a threat to the safety and security of the group he’s a part of, but he soon discovers that there’s more to her than he initially assumes.

“When this stranger enters, I think she’s got to go,” Abel says. “But the more I get to know her, the more I see she’s more human than humans are – her generosity, her care, her kindness.”

Given Meyer’s pedigree, The Host arrives in theaters with enormous expectations – both from fans of the Twilightbook series, and critics of its film adaptations. But Abel insists that the film will appeal to everyone, whether or not you know (or like) her previous work.

“I think people who are fans of he previous books and films can easily transfer into this,” he says. “But I think it’s also its own entity – it’s something completely different. It’s something that hasn’t really been done before – and that’s exciting to us.”

With the end of The Twilight Saga hitting theaters this week, could Stephenie Meyer’s next horror/romance tale The Host fill the void left by Bella, Edward and Jacob? Enter Melanie, Jared and Ian.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, in which most of the human race has been wiped out by an alien race known as Souls, The Host stars Saoirse Ronan as Melanie Stryder, a human whose body is inhabited by a Soul named Wanderer.

Max Irons – who once auditioned for the role of Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga – portrays Jared Howe, Melanie’s lover. However, after Melanie is captured by the Souls and implanted with Wanderer, he thinks he’s lost her forever. That is, until Melanie convinces Wanderer, who lives tandem inside her body, to help her search for Jared and her younger brother.

Jake Abel stars as Ian O’Shea, Wanderer’s fierce protector and Jared’s main competition for her affections. This wouldn’t be a Stephenie Meyer film without a dramatic love triangle!

Meanwhile, Diane Kruger and William Hurt star as The Seeker and Jeb, respectively.

The Host hits theaters March 29, 2013.

Stephanie Meyers has moved on from vampires to aliens!

The author, who is responsible for all four Twilight books, has another one of her novels getting ready to hit the big screen, and a teaser trailer for The Host has been released. Though it won’t be released for a year (literally, it hits theaters on March 29, 2013), we get to see the eery sci-fi world brought to life (a little bit, at least).

So, what exactly is this movie about for those who aren’t up to speed?

According to IMDB:

“One soul, the Wanderer, is fused with a captured human named Melanie Stryder, in an attempt to locate the last pocket of surviving humans on Earth.”

It stars Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones), Max Irons (Red Riding Hood), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds), and more.

Between Twilight and Hunger Games, it looks like another book series is looking to be the “next big thing.”

The first book-to-film transition seemed to work pretty well for Twilight author Stephanie Meyer, so she’s giving it another go round with The Host.

Deadline reports that Lovely Bones actress Saoirse Ronan has been cast in the role of Melanie Stryder in the film adaptation of the best-selling book series.

So, what exactly goes down in the sci-fi book?

The Host is about alien parasites who take over people’s bodiess, and Saoirse’s character is one of the last humans around who fights against the species referred to as “Souls.”

The film will be written by Now screenwriter Andrew Niccol. No word on when production would start or a release date.

Is the world ready for an action film for ladies? If you ask Saoirse Ronan, the young star of Hanna, the answer is definitely yes and not just because she happens to play a badass teen assassin in her newest film.

Celebuzz got a chance to sit down with the talented actress earlier this week to discuss her role in Hanna (which hits theaters this weekend) and how she feels about playing such a strong character.

“I like the idea of playing strong female roles,” Saoirse told a group of reporters in New York. ” I think we need characters like that and women in particular seem to really respond well to [Hanna].”

In the film, Saoirse plays a 16-year-old girl who has been living with her father (played by the very hunky Eric Bana) in a remote area of Finland for almost her entire life. Hanna knows little about the outside world but eventually forces her father to let her escape the icy tundra of Lapland and experience real life. Unfortunately, this means that Hanna must battle one very determined special agent (played to perfection by the always excellent Cate Blanchett) and several other nasty characters who want her destroyed. Luckily for Hanna, her father has been training her to do battle for her entire life.

When asked what it was like to watch herself kicking butt on the big screen, the young star suddenly becomes very animated: “It was cool! I was very excited. It was very exciting to watch me fight because I’ve never fought anyone!”

Training for the film was a rigorous process, involving Saoirse to learn karate, archery and how to hold and fire a gun as if she had been popping glocks her whole life. Saoirse likens the fight sequences to ballet choreography and admits that she had to spend two hours at the gym every day in order to match with Hannah’s superhuman abilities.

Although she admits that she was “too young” to watch everyone’s favorite teen action hero, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Saoirse does admire other female characters who don’t shy away from a fight.

“There are certain female characters in action films that I love like the Bride in Kill Bill. I think she’s really interesting because love is basically her motivation and the fight sequences in all those films are really great. And she’s different as well and I like that, I think Hanna is like that as well.”

When asked what she wants young women to take away from the film, Saoirse answers “Strength,” but giggles that she doesn’t want to sound too cheesy.

“I walked away from the film very excited,” said Saoirse “I like that she stays a freak and kind of weird.”

Hanna, directed by Joe Wright, is currently in theaters nationwide.

She may play a butt-kicking teenager in Hanna but Saoirse Ronan looked very elegant when she appeared at the red carpet premiere of her new film on Wednesday night in NYC.

The Irish actress was joined by co-star (and Celebuzz Certified Dreamboat) Eric Bana and fellow cute teen actress Sofia d’Elia Black from MTV’s Skins. Also in attendance: Keri Russell and the handsome Matthew Bomer from White Collar. That’s quite the celebrity guest list!
