AnnaSophia Robb to Play Young Carrie Bradshaw in ‘Sex and the City’ Prequel

It’s official. Sarah Jessica Parker is no longer the only Carrie Bradshaw to hit TV. AnnaSophia Robb, best known for her role in Soul Surfer, has been cast to play the younger Sex and the City character in The CW TV series titled The Carrie Diaries, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Before landing this coveted role, AnnaSophia also starred as Violet in the 2005 flick Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The Carrie Diaries begins during Carrie’s senior year of high school as the character starts to ask her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while in Manhattan. The show will have large shoes to fill but breathe easy because THR reports that SATC scribe/co-producer Amy B. Harris will adapt the book and act as a show runner.

The highly anticipated prequel will also be executive produced by Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie duo Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage among others.

Love the Look! Sarah Jessica Parker Channels Carrie Bradshaw (PHOTOS)

Calling all Sex and the City fans! Sarah Jessica Parker hit the red carpet looking more like her Carrie Bradshaw character that we all know and love … and we LOVE this look!

The actress showed up to amfAR New York Gala to kick off Fashion Week on Wednesday night, and she couldn’t have looked more style-savvy if she tried. Dressed in a pale pink Oscar de la Renta gown, a Theyskens Theory leather jacket and white gloves, SJP was the trendiest belle of the ball.

She put the finishing touches on the style with Manolo Blahnik shoes (so Carrie), Fred Leighton earrings, Fenton bracelets, and a Carole Tanenbaum vintage necklace.

First Look: Sarah Jessica Parker as Gloria Steinem on ‘Lovelace’ Set (PHOTOS)

Although Demi Moore was originally slated to portray journalist Gloria Steinem in the upcoming biopic, Lovelace, Sarah Jessica Parker has stepped into the role and Celebuzz has a first look!

The Sex and the City star was seen on set of the film in LA on Thursday, and channeled her inner 70s self.

Photogs have been all over this film’s set, snapping photos of Amanda Seyfriend who plays the titular character in the film based on adult film star Linda Lovelace‘s life.

There has been lots of controversy surrounding this project, the biggest being Lindsay Lohan (who was originally supposed to play Lovelace) and Demi exiting the project. Demi exited after checking being hospitalized and checking into a treatment center for exhaustion.

According to IMDB, the film will center around the:

“Story of Linda Lovelace, who is used and abused by the porn industry at the behest of her coercive husband, before taking control of her life.”

It should hit theaters sometime this year.

Sarah Jessica Parker Replaces Demi Moore in ‘Lovelace’

Contrary to earlier reports, Sarah Jessica Parker will be replacing Demi Moore in Lovelace rather than Mary Louise Parker, which Us Weekly reported earlier.

Sarah will be playing the part of Gloria Steinem while Demi focuses on her recovery. Any Sex and the City fan out there should appreciate that this means there will be a Carrie and Mr. Big reunion on the big screen!

Chris Noth has already been cast in the film.

Congrats to SJP on the casting news, and everyone at Celebuzz wishes Demi a speedy recovery.

The smiling tots were spotted on Friday morning and were all bundled up as they headed to the playground with their nanny in New York City. The twins ran into the park and wore matching puffy coats, one in pink and the other in blue. How cute!

The actress showed up to the VRC Oaks Club Ladies Luncheon at Crown Palladium wearing the Philip Treacy fascinator. This headgear may look familiar if you watched the royal wedding.

Philip Treacy also designed the infamous hat worn by Princess Beatrice at Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s wedding.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker was on mommy duty Thursday morning in New York City as she was spotted on her way to drop off her oldest son James Wilkie Broderick at school. She also brought along her adorable twins Marion, and Tabitha, 2, for the ride, accompanied by their nanny.

The Sex and the City star can always be seen spending quality time with her children, and detailed what it was like to meet her twins for the first time, telling Vogue:

“Meeting your children rather than giving birth to them, it’s as if, um, it’s—suspended animation. The gestational experience is gone. It’s as if everything else disappears for a moment, and the world goes silent and—I can’t explain it except to say that nothing else existed. I don’t remember anything but the blanket on the bed that they were lying on and my husband’s face and their faces and my son’s. It’s literally as if sound is sucked from the room. Time stands still. It’s so different, and equally extraordinary. I am very poor at describing it. But it’s amazing.”

Meanwhile, the star is gearing up for her new film New Years Eve, which has an all star cast that includes Jessica Biel and Ashton Kutcher. According to IMDB, the movie is about “the lives of several couples and singles in New York intertwining over the course of New Year’s Eve.” The film is scheduled to hit theaters December 9, 2011.

Such was especially the case for Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker, who was seen juggling an English Muffin and getting her twin daughters Marion and Tabitah into a car Tuesday afternoon in New York City.
