The 50-year-old actress, who’s being eyed to appear in the next Police Academy movie, was spotted shopping at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills yesterday, her Van Cleefs and Arpels necklace and Ostrich Birkin bag accessorized by a T-shirt bearing the enigmatic message, “Make Believe Not War.”

Stone failed to elaborate on the shadowy declaration before zipping off in her Bentley Continental GTC convertible. Maybe she’s asking people to make believe that injecting Botox into children to cure their foot odor is an appropriate medical treatment.

TMZ reports on a Chicago Sun-Times story which claims that Britney Spears is considering putting out a line of workout videos. The videos will be inspired by Brit’s love of dance and she reportedly got the idea after watching her mother’s old Jane Fonda videos.

People reports that Elisabeth Hasselbeck has no plans to leave her hosting job at ABC’s morning chatfest The View. Hasselbeck was rumored to be considering a hosting job at Fox News. “While Elisabeth [Hasselbeck] has a great relationship with Fox News, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that she is leaving The View,” her agent said Thursday.

The LA Times reports that Dancing with the Stars winner Helio Castroneves has been indicted on charges of tax evasion and tax fraud. The DTWS champion and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner reportedly used offshore accounts to hide millions of dollars of income from the IRS.

Singer Natalie Cole has been released from the hospital. People reports that the 58-year-old singer, who suffers from Hepatitis C, is resting at home. Cole was hospitalized in New York City last month and had to cancel all of her October tour dates.

According to Star, the 43-year-old Entourage actor was sniffing around 19-year-old barely-legal actress Hayden Panettiere at a post-Emmy’s party.

“He was trying to be charming and kept saying he ‘wanted to show her around town’,”  a partygoer told the magazine. “But Hayden soon excused herself and escaped.”

Jeremy is a proud lawbreaker. Maybe he believed Hayden was underage and he was just trying to maintain his cred as an outlaw?

Summer ’08 hasn’t been too kind to the cougarific Sharon Stone. The fur-loving, single mom is dealing with a lawsuit from victims and family members affected by this spring’s Chinese earthquake, and was hit with more bad news this week: 

• Looks like the busty blonde just wants attention, as witnesses saw her dining alone at the secluded and private Ivy restaurant on Robertson Blvd. Never heard of it! 
• On Tuesday she reportedly lost custody of her 8-year-old son, Roan, as an L.A. judge ruled that the boy would be better off with ex-hubby Phil Bronstein. 
• Yet, the supposedly unfit mom shrugged off the negative press and hit up Coffee Bean just a day later. Wonder who kept her up all night?

Us Magazine reports that, according to court documents relating to a September 12, 2008 hearing, Bronstein “shall have permanent sole custody of child. Court finds that respondent [Sharon Stone] failed to meet her burden of proof and denies respondent’s [Sharon Stone's] request for modification of custody.”

The order, which reverses an October 2007 decision that gave the couple “joint legal and physical custody” of Roan, is permanent, unless circumstances change.

No word on whether Sharon will blame the government of China for this unfortunate reversal of fortune.

On the plus side, this frees up Stone’s schedule so that she can further pursue other interests.

UPDATE: According to TMZ, the court clerk made a typographical error in the original court case document when originally writing Bronstein “shall have permanent sole physical custody of child.”

Says the site, “The clerk also wrote, ‘Custody, visitation, holiday and vacation schedule shall remain in place as outlined on 10/4/07 order.’ That’s the order that gave Sharon joint physical and legal custody of the kid.”

Marty Singer, Sharon’s lawyer, tells TMZ the inconsistency is obvious, and the judge didn’t take away Stone’s joint custody: “She still has it and the clerk just screwed up when she wrote Bronstein now has ‘sole physical custody’.”

Way to go, Sharon. Saved by a technicality!

Why would a judge ever want to keep a child away from the cougar with the mostest? Maybe he just doesn’t like her views on China.

Now that Roan is safely with his father, this seasoned lady-on-the-make is freed up to visit her prowling haunts. Maybe she’ll catch a live one!

Thankfully the Basic Instinct actress left her shirt on. Also absent was any of the Stone’s furs, which have gotten her in hot water with PETA.

Did Sharon have a lunch companion? She does like to nosh with her male counterpart  James Woods. Bet they share some good baiting tips.

Constantly in the public spotlight, and looking like she knows her way around men young and old, Ms. Stone hosted the 2008 Eagle and Badge Gala in Los Angeles.

Since her classic ladyflower-flashing scene in 1992′s Basic Instinct, Stone has gracefully aged into the hot dame we see before us.

Despite being the queen cougar, Sharon also devotes the majority of her time raising money for charities such as AMFAR.

So she’s not just an older vintage of sexy, she’s also philanthropic.

China needs to recognize!

Sharon’s being slapped with a lawsuit to the tune of $1 billion by victims and family members affected by this spring’s Chinese earthquake.

Fox News says Stone was “served with legal papers announcing [New York] attorney Ming Hai’s intention to sue her for harming Chinese people when she suggested the catastrophic quake last May was ‘karma’ for the regime’s occupation of Tibet.”

But, really, does Sharon look worried? Hell no! Lawsuits or bras, she doesn’t let the small stuff hold her back in life.

But some celebrities are just not capable of being so mild.
