Picture Perfect? A terrific transfer beautifully preserves Cosmatos’ trippy visuals.

What Else Is There? Extended scenes add plenty of visual splendor, while a commentary track by Cosmatos unearths some of the creative and conceptual foundations for the film’s unique storytelling.

How Badly Do I Want It? Not a movie for everybody, but by now our description probably convinced you that it’s either definitely for you or definitely not.

Ghosts of the Abyss (Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: James Cameron followed up his trip to Titanic with this 3D documentary about the ocean’s great mysteries.

Picture Perfect? Although the film utilized 3D technology that predates (a little) the cameras that are now an industry standard, the high-definition transfer offers a clean, clear and engaging visual landscape.

What Else Is There? A single featurette, “Reflections of the Deep” offers additional historical and technical perspective on Cameron’s undersea voyage, even as a 90-minute version expands the journey.

How Badly Do I Want It? Certainly not as exciting as Titanic, but it might be a bonus featurette if you heart goes on after watching his 1997 Oscar winner.

The Harry Potter 8-Film Collection (Warner Home Video)

The One-Liner: Fans of the Harry Potter franchise can get a comprehensive fix (if not an overdose) with this expansive collection that includes all of the films.

Picture Perfect? Most of the transfers have existed in one release or another so there’s no significant improvement, but most of the films looked terrific to begin with so there’s nothing here to disappoint.

What Else Is There? There are enough bonus materials to choke a hippogriff. A bonus disc featuring shorts such as “When Harry Left Hogwarts” and “The Harry Potters You Never Met” gives fans new insights into the creative process and legacy of the series.

How Badly Do I Want It? Really, really bad – especially since the last few films won’t be released in “Ultimate Edition” versions – but if you’ve waited until now this is a great holiday request.

Snow White and the Huntsman (Universal Studios Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: Off-screen controversy notwithstanding, Kristen Stewart’s was the more serious of this spring’s dueling Snow White projects, featuring Chris Hemsworth as her titular companion.

Picture Perfect? Strong contrasts and rich colors bring the film to life on the small screen thanks to a detailed and well-rendered high-definition transfer.

What Else Is There? An extended version adds a few minutes of footage and even fewer real moments of value, while a commentary track gives director Rupert Sanders an opportunity to champion his rendition of the iconic fantasy figure.

How Badly Do I Want It? It’s definitely worth a rental but unless you’re a huge K-Stew fan this may or may not be a must-own.

Titanic 3D (Paramount Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: James Cameron’s award-winning epic arrives on Blu-ray in 2- and 3D versions, giving fans an even more immersive experience.

Picture Perfect? In any dimension this film is a stunner, thanks to a painstaking restoration that beautifully augments Russell Carpenter’s incredible cinematography.

What Else Is There? Two spanking-new documentaries and an hour of deleted scenes allow your experience with the film to (seemingly) never end, but all of the new content is smart and insightful.

How Badly Do I Want It? Honestly? Really badly, because the movie holds up like gangbusters, the presentation is reference-quality and the special features are immersive.

Besides the damage to her relationship with Robert Pattinson, to Rupert Sanders‘ marriage to Liberty Ross, and to her public image as America’s vampire-lovin’ sweetheart, did Kristen Stewart’s cheating scandal also quash her chances to appear in a Snow White and the Huntsman sequel?

Certainly, any on-set reunion between the actress and Snow White director Sanders would be, um… awkward? Painful? Disastrous? It’s no surprise Universal, the studio behind the franchise, might choose to avoid the unpleasantness and bad publicity. But would the studio choose between Stewart and Sanders by firing the star and keeping the director?

That’s the scenario suggested by more than one trade news report on Tuesday, suggesting that the franchise may go ahead without Stewart. But other trade reports dispute the notion that she was fired, since she was under no obligation to return.

Will Kristen Stewart appear in a “Snow White” sequel?

The assertion that Stewart was fired from the sequel first appeared Tuesday in The Hollywood Reporter, whose Kim Masters wrote of a potential sequel, “Kristen Stewart will not be invited to return if the follow-up goes forward.” Masters’ report said it was also unclear whether Sanders would return, though she cited an inside source who said he would. Screenwriter David Koepp, however, was also being let go, Masters wrote. The sequel, she said, would likely be a spinoff focusing on Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman character and would likely go before the cameras next July, when he’s free from his day job as Thor.

A related story by Mike Fleming at Deadline.com seemed to confirm the notion that any sequel to Snow White would likely be a Huntsman-centered reboot. Like Masters, Fleming reported that Koepp was no longer attached to the franchise. He added that Sanders and the film’s producers Joe Roth and Patak Patel were planning to collaborate on true-crime drama 90 Church, putting their potential participation in a Snow White sequel in limbo as well.

Since then, several reports have emerged that call Masters’ article into question, or at least its claim about Stewart. Jeff Wells at Hollywood Elsewhere quoted a Universal rep as telling him that the Reporter story was not accurate. “The studio is pursuing a Huntsman spinoff but exploring all options to continue the franchise. Nobody has ditched Kristen,” Wells quoted the studio rep as saying. “No directors attached, no decisions made other than to look at a Huntsman sequel/spin-off. [So] we’re exploring options to continue the franchise and no decisions have been made.”

The Los Angeles Times cites a source at Universal as saying that the studio is going ahead with a sequel centering on Hemsworth’s character. The paper also says Stewart could be invited back to appear in that film, though it doesn’t cite a source for that claim.

Mark Malkin at E! Online pointed out that Stewart couldn’t have been “dropped” from the follow-up (as the Reporter headline touted) because she was never contractually obligated to appear in a sequel. (Neither was Sanders.) “We don’t have to do it,” Stewart told E! in May, regarding a possible sequel. “That’s the coolest thing. There’s no pressure. But to be able to expand on this would be awesome.”

Masters’ report gave no reason for Stewart’s alleged dismissal, though she speculated that it had more to do with the expense of re-hiring Stewart, now one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses, than with the bad publicity from the Stewart-Sanders scandal. (Similarly, Koepp is one of Hollywood’s top-earning screenwriters.) After all, Masters wrote, Universal spent some $170 million making the movie.

In fact, the studio probably spent tens of millions more marketing and distributing it, and while Snow White did earn $389.2 million worldwide, you have to figure that theater owners kept half of that, meaning that the studio earned only a modest profit. So it’s no wonder that, next time out, they’d want to cut costs. And right now, Hemsworth and Sanders are cheaper hires than Stewart. (At press time, Universal reps had yet to respond to Celebuzz’s requests for comment.)

Her hookup with Sanders does seem to have cost Stewart one movie job. Last week, she dropped out of the film Cali because, as Celebuzz reported, she is focusing her time and energies on trying to win Pattinson back.

 UPDATE: (Wednesday, August 15, 4:00 p.m. EDT) Universal is now shouting from the rooftops to squash the Stewart-was-fired angle. Universal Co-Chairman Donna Langley (and not some anonymous staff publicist) has issued a statement, saying, “We are extremely proud of Snow White and the Huntsman and we’re currently exploring all options to continue the franchise. Any reports that Kristen Stewart has been dropped are false.”

The key phrase there is “exploring all options.” That could mean any number of possibilities, including a Stewart-free sequel, a Sanders-free sequel, or no sequel at all. But right now, the studio wants it to be known that it hasn’t (yet) burned any bridges with Kristen Stewart.

Robert Pattinson has come out of hiding for the first time since Kristen Stewart was caught cheating with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

The Twilight star stepped out on Saturday to let loose with a few pals at country-western bar The Deer Lodge in Ojai, Calif., where he’s been holed up at his Water for Elephant costar Reese Witherspoon‘s off-the-grid ranch estate.

One of the bands Pattinson came to see said they were very flattered that they could help him forget his girl problems for a while.

“Even though we didn’t get a chance to say hello, we are glad to have helped him get over his recent heartbreak,” Ryan Ross from The Lonely Wild told Celebuzz.

So did music help soothe Pattinson’s broken heart?

“Sometimes a couple drinks, some friends, and some loud music are the best medicine,” Ross said.

Ross was so busy playing for everyone at the bar — not just the extremely famous British star in the crowd — the bassist from the Los Angeles-based band didn’t even notice if Pattinson was there.

“We heard that he was there and was enjoying the music,” Ross told Celebuzz, “I would have remembered if anyone was openly weeping about recent relationship woes though, so I can assure you there was none of that.”

A fellow partygoer, Julie Demdam, took to her Twitter page to boast about her bar-mate.

“Robert Pattinson and his friends are at The Deer Lodge getting wasted,” she wrote. “Rob is with some panty droppers. They’re on the dance floor dancing like crazy.”

“He wasn’t moping and the girls were definitely just his friend,” she continued. “The girls were drunk and literally danced on the floor. He wasn’t drunk. Just taking in the scene. Smoked next to him outside.”

After her night alongside R-Pattz, Demdam tweeted, “Awesome night in Ojai. Got to hang out with a rowdy bunch of Brits & one of them happened to be Edward.”

Ever since Stewart’s public apology for her affair, Witherspoon has let Pattinson shack up at her home. Witherspoon said that her former costar is “a very sensitive soul” and that she is optimistic that the ranch will have “a calming effect” on him,” according to the Washington Post.

Meanwhile, Stewart has mostly stayed off the radar while hiding out at producer pal Giovanni Agnelli‘s home. Agnelli, who producer Stewart’s Welcome to the Rileys, recently came to the defense of the embattled actresses. “I’ll say right now what the manipulative media isn’t saying,” he wrote on Twitter. “Kristen Stewart did not have any type of sex with Rupert Sanders.”

And it seems Stewart’s hasn’t taken a hit amid the scandal. She reportedly landed the lead role as Peyton Loftis in an adaptation of William Styron‘s Lie Down in Darkness.

In her ‘Kristen Stewart Explains Cheating’ YouTube clip, McDonald spoofs K-Stew, insisting she has “really good explanations” for why she “did it” with the director of her film, “Snow White and the Thor.”

So what drove the actress into the arms of Rupert Sanders?

Surrounded by moving boxes of “R-Pattz sunscreen,” “R-Pattz clothes,” and “R-Pattz hoodies,” McDonald channels her inner Stewart with constant fidgeting and hair grabbing in the four-minute mock message.

Her list of rationales for sleeping with Sanders ranges from fulfilling the final wish of an ailing Make A Wish kid to preventing the kidnapping of her pet pooch.

But first and foremost, faux K-Stew says she betrayed her beloved R-Pattz for the sake of her Snow White performance.

“On the first day of filming Snow White and the Midgets,” says McDonald, “Rupert came up to me and he was like, ‘I like to get to know my actors. In order to truly get to know my actors, I sleep with them. All of them. Now this relaxes them and they give better performances for it. You wanna give a good performance, yes?’”

“And he said that Martin Scorsese did the same thing with Goodfellas, which is why the fellas are so good,” the comedian continues. “A couple days after we did sex, I asked Thor if he enjoyed doing sex with Rupert and he was all, ‘I’ve not had sex with Rupert, or any man.’ It turns out that no one has sex with Rupert, just me…and one dwarf.”

The video is just the latest in McDonald’s long string of spoofs, which include Stewart explaining Fourth of July, Valentine’s Day and Christmas.

Not only are they not living together, but the Twilight pair are reportedly not in contact. Despite the current tension, Stewart and Pattinson may face each other on September 6, when they are expected to appear together at MTV’s Video Music Awards.

Just two weeks before news broke of Kristen Stewart‘s affair with Snow White and the Huntsman helmer Rupert Sanders, the director’s wife, Liberty Ross, opened up about a recent rough patch in her 10-year marriage — and how their relationship became “so amazing” after it.

The couple hit a hurdle when they relocated from London to Los Angeles as Sanders launched his Hollywood career, Ross admitted in an interview with YOU Magazine (excerpted by the Daily Mail).

Just on the heels of Kristen Stewart‘s unfortunate indiscretion with Rupert Sanders and subsequent apology, Celebuzz uncovered footage of the director’s wife Liberty Ross praising the choice of the Twilight actress for the lead role in Snow White and the Huntsman.

“[Kristen] was my number one choice,” Ross told Celebuzz at the film’s London premiere in May, “I think there is no better Snow White in my opinion. She is great.”

Ross, interestingly, played Stewart’s mother in Snow White.

And her praise of Stewart didn’t stop there.

“I mean, I’ve never watched a ‘Twilight’ movie, so i don’t really know, but I loved her in Sean Penn’s film just for that moment that she’s in it,” Ross, who has two children with Sanders, raved of Into the Wild. “Ever since then — she’s got something very transfixing about her. The romance between Twilight on-and-off-screen lovers Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson has been rocked by reports that the 22-year-old actress had a fling with Snow White and the Huntmen filmmaker, Rupert Sanders, 44.

After reports of the alleged fling lit up the web, Us Weekly published paparazzi snaps that seem to show Stewart getting intimate with Sanders — who has two child with model wife Liberty Ross — during a daytime rendezvous in a car.

Neither Stewart nor Sanders have released a comment about the reported tryst.

“Kristen is absolutely devastated,” a source told Us. “It was a mistake and a complete lapse in judgment.”

Just two days ago, Stewart attended the Teen Choice Awards with longtime love Pattinson, seemingly as head-over-heels as ever.

How is the Twihard nation taking the news?

The K-Stew and R-Patz-loving crew is more shocked — and saddened — than anyone.

Following reports of Stewart’s alleged fling, Celebuzz’s readers hit the comments section, as did fans on Facebook and Twitter, to express their hopes and despair regarding the famous duo. A fair number of fans believe Stewart strayed, but there is also a very vocal group of naysayers.

If Kristen hooked up with Rupert, shame on them both because he is married. Whether Kristen and Rob were/are really a couple, again who cares? I will never understand how “fans” get so invested in the lives of “stars.” Please, for your own sake and peace of mind, live your own life and leave these people to the tabloids, movies, etc.

Leah: there’s just no way. for all we know they were talking about the movie and someone fabricated the “Kissing” nonsense to make a few extra bucks.

Lori: Kristen was walking on some trail and absolutely no one had tweeted or has a pic of her? For real? the article said that people saw them kissing in the car but no one knew it was Kristen? For real? The hugging pics are her hugging him “hi” and “good-bye” that’s so obvious. This whole thing is BS!!! Kristen is driving another man in her car that isn’t Robert Pattinson and only 1, that’s right 1 person saw this? For real?

The fan-favorite Twilight romance may soon fizzle.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson‘s years-long relationship has been rocked by reports that the actress hooked up with her much-older, married Snow White helmer, Rupert Sanders.

After news of the alleged tryst spread like wildfire on the web, Us Weekly printed incriminating photos of Stewart, 22, and Sanders, 41, cozying up in a car in what looks like to be a romantic moment.

So who is Rupert Sanders?

1. Snow White and the Huntsman is his first feature.
The big-screen fairytale adaptation is Sanders’ feature film directorial debut. The big-budget flick, which re-imagined the traditional Disney fairytale, pulled in $20.3 million domestically on its opening day in June 2012.

2. He is married to model-actress Liberty Ross.
Sanders tied the knot seven years ago with Liberty Ross, sister of Oscar-winning composer Atticus Ross. The British Vogue cover girl played Stewart’s mother in Snow White. London-born Ross, 33, recently shared photos and details of her family’s Hawaiian vacation, on the heels of Snow White and the Huntsman‘s promo blitz. Just hours before her husband’s alleged affair exploded, Ross tweeted simply, “Wow,” before deactivating her account. It remains to be seen how the fallout will affect the film’s sequel, which is reportedly moving forward with both Stewart and Sanders.

3. He is a father of two.
British-born Sanders lives in Malibu, California, with his 7-year-old daughter Skyla and 5-year-old son Tennyson, both of whom had bit roes in their father’s blockbuster.

4. He praises Stewart’s acting skills.
“When you see her act you realize why she is such a huge movie star and why she’s going to continue to get bigger,” Sanders gushed to Screenrant. “I’d first seen her in Into the Wild and I was really blown away…She’s one those actors who does these smaller films and then she does these big movies and she’s really managed her career so well in that way. She’s incredibly spirited and very kind of wild and also she’s got this kind of this alchemy to her. You’re not quite sure what it is about her, but on screen she’s just incredible.”

5. Other than Snow White, his resume includes commercials and short films.
The director has helmed many TV advertisements, including one for Halo 3: ODST, which earned him two Golden Lions at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

Hollywood be warned: There is another Hemsworth brother en route.

Just when you thought our screens were overloaded with Hemsworth, the older brother of Liam (The Hunger Games, Last Song) and Chris Hemsworth (Snow White and The Hunstman, Thor) has signed on with a leading talent agency to try his luck as an actor in the United States.

While he hasn’t jagged the success of his star siblings, the 32-year-old is a known face on the small screen in his native homeland of Australia.

Does Luke think his famous name will lead to a big break?

“It does help having two brothers in the industry already… to a degree,” Luke told Sydney newspaper The Daily Telegraph at brother Chris’ premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman.

“Do I have an unfair advantage? Uh, well, yes and no.

“But you’re still doing the same things; you’re still learning lines and doing the same thing every day, going to the same auditions as everyone else — you still have to get over the line yourself.”

And the answer to the question you all want to know: Is he single, or not?

Like Liam, who just got engaged to Miley Cyrus, and Chris, who welcomed his first child India Rose with wife Elsa Pataky, Luke is spoken for. Indeed, he and his wife have just had their third little girl.

Brother Chris was also super supportive of his older brother’s ambition to emulate their success aborad.

“Luke was actually acting before both Liam and I,” the Thor star said.

“Then he went and did other things. But he’s getting back into acting now — and it’s great.”

Kristen Stewart got a little playful at the Australian premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman on Monday night. The 22-year-old posed for a few funny photos on the red carpet, where she sported a dark green, gold-embellished skirt and matching strapless top that showed off her slim figure.

Stewart wore her dark hair up in a messy beehive bun and finished off her look with sparkly Christian Louboutins, which she quickly swapped for comfy Converses when she was done on the red carpet.

Kristen Stewart may be reprising her role as Snow White once more.

According to Deadline, Universal has fast-tracked a sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman with screenwriter David Koepp (Panic Room, Spider-Man, Angels & Demons) already hard at work at the script.

Will the Huntsman himself, Chris Hemsworth, be back for more as well?

Reportedly, both Stewart, 22, and Hemsworth, 28, signed on options for two sequels prior to working on the film. If the studio does decide to forge ahead with the saga, the two actors will most likely return for round two of the fairy tale adaptation.

Snow White and the Huntsman, which opened June 1, has raked in $118 million worldwide and is currently closing in on its $170 million reported budget.

Many fans are hoping for the sequel as the movie’s love triangle — between Stewart, Hemsworth, and Sam Clafin‘s characters — remains unresolved.

Writer Evan Daugherty even confessed that Snow White’s romantic tension was so important that once Hemsworth was cast, they rewrote part of the script:

“It may be more resonate for a modern audience to cast a younger Huntsman so you could develop a bit of a romance and a bit of a tension between Snow White and the Huntsman.”

Don’t mess with Kristen Stewart.

The 22-year-old star stopped by NBC’s TODAY on Thursday to promote her upcoming film Snow White and the Huntsman — out June 1 — and talked about when she accidentally broke her co-star Chris Hemsworth‘s nose.

“I swear I didn’t mean to,” Stewart insisted to hosts Matt Lauer, Ann Curry and others. “He got too close.”

Stewart also dished a bit about the film’s numerous fight scenes, saying that director Rupert Sanders gave them free range instead of choreographing the scenes.

“It’s so much cooler to watch someone instinctively … become this skilled martial artist. She really moves toward fear.”

Snow White and the Huntsman isn’t a love story, but that doesn’t mean Kristen Stewart can’t find a little comfort in her hunky costars before taking down Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron).

In the original fairy tale, Snow White is destined to be with the Prince but as Stewart, 22, herself told Celebuzz, this film was an opportunity to take what you think you know– along with the idea of destiny– and turn it upside-down.

But it was actually Chris Hemsworth who made the story into a bit of a love triangle:

As Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron prepare for the release of their highly anticipated film, The Snow White and the Huntsman ( in theaters Friday June 1), the gorgeous duo posed for Interview magazine in one of their sexiest and most dramatic shoots yet!

The co-stars certainly channeled the dark side of their classic fairytale in a series of serious yet extremely glamorous photos (above). They both bring a new meaning to the term gothic glam, posing in black floor-length gowns and extremely dark lips.

Kristen, 22, is seen wearing a Givenchy slip with a Maison Martin Margiela coat, while Charlize, 36, is rocking a black Lanvin dress and Tom Ford.

The ladies sit down with the mag and have nothing but praise for one another. What do they reveal?

“She is unlike anyone I’ve ever encountered, she’s a f*cking movie star,” Kirsten says of the Evil Queen, Charlize.

“I’m a huge Kristen Stewart fan, too,” says Charlize. “There’s not an ounce of her anatomy that knows how to half-ass anything.”
