Last year’s big winner Marion Cotillard baffled in a busy skirt, intricate bust and morose lipstick (that frankly ages the talented French thesp), while Sophia Loren went completely off the rails with something between a pageant gown and pajamas, gossamer silk sleeves and oversized jewel detail abound.

Perhaps the nights biggest disappointmet was knockout Freida Pinto, who disappointed in drab John Galliano. For a girl taking carpets by storm of late with her high-fashion sensibilities and modern cuts, the shrouded shoulder and dainty ruffled trim are a tragic miss.
