After a long week of remaining mum (or honeymooning), Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are speaking out about their glamorous weekend nuptials, which saw Nicole donning three (!) Marchesa dresses, an elephant roaming the property of Nicole’s dad Lionel Richie and the couple’s daughter and son serving as flower girl and ring bearer.

“It was magical,” Nicole, 29, tells People magazine. New hubby Joel, 31, said: “It was the best night of my life.

People also provides the first wedding photo of Nicole and Joel, in which she wears one of her trio of gowns – a lacy, long-sleeved number with a dreamy voluminous skirt “crafted from more than 100 yards of hand-draped silk organza and tulle petals.”

Nicole and Joel’s much-anticipated nuptials took place beneath a tent “transformed to resemble a French garden.” And we’ll be dreaming of just that until more photos surface.
