If like us you’re still suffering from a tryptophan hangover after consuming a quantity of turkey equal to the weight of a small child, then this might be the perfect week to pick out a few new Blu-rays.

Not unlike last week, the studios have offered a limited selection of titles, but there are a few that are worth your attention – which we’ve compiled here.

From dance battles to animated adventures, musical remakes to period retreads, check out Celebuzz’ Blu-ray picks for the week of November 27.

Lawless (Anchor Bay)

The One-Liner: Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain team up for this Prohibition-era thriller about two brothers who enlist a Chicago expert (Chastain) to help them with their bootlegging business.

Picture Perfect? A solid transfer faithfully preserves the rustic locations as well as the urban ones.

What Else Is There? An audio commentary, deleted scenes and a 21-minute featurette examines the conception of the film, and further explores the world it creates.

How Badly Do I Want It? Mixed reactions from critics makes this a rental primarily, but if you’re a Chastain completist like we are, then it’s a must-have.

Men in Black 3 (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: Director Barry Sonnenfeld reunites with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones (and adds a younger Tommy Lee Jones, played by Josh Brolin) for an overdue third installment in this fun sci-fi series.

Picture Perfect? Although the 2D picture is more solid and consistent than the 3D, both are mostly successful in creating a solid visual landscape that faithfully replicates the theatrical experience.

What Else Is There? An interactive game offers a few seconds of entertainment, but a collection of featurettes and other extras delves into the process of bring MiB’s world to life.

How Badly Do I Want It? If you’re a fan of the first two films (or even just the first), this is well worth checking out as a rental, but Men in Black 3 doesn’t seem like a movie you’ll want to revisit often if it was in your library.

Paranorman (Universal Studios Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: A creepy but charming animated feature that evokes Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas heyday.

Picture Perfect? Unsurprisingly, the film is a visual delight, and the Blu-ray transfer makes it absolutely shine, even when its characters are shrouded in the shadows.

What Else Is There? Some 41 minutes of featurettes offers an inside look at the making of the film, while a commentary track and a U-Control feature ties all of the extras together for one cohesive and complementary viewing experience.

How Badly Do I Want It? If you’re an animation fan, this film is probably a must-own, but it’s a solidly entertaining film that’s absolutely worth a rental, especially if you’re a Burton fan.

Sparkle (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: This remake offers audiences their last look at the late Whitney Houston as Jordin Sparks reinvents this song-filled film for a modern audience.

Picture Perfect? Sony does a great job of reproducing the film’s digital photography on home video, beautifully preserving the skin tones and visual textures of its musical backdrop.

What Else Is There? A 20-minute tribute to Houston anchors the extras-filled disc, which also comes with a commentary track, making-of featurettes and some extended/additional performances.

How Badly Do I Want It? Although it certainly doesn’t compare cinematically to the original, seeing Houston’s final film is certainly worth the price of admission.

Step Up Revolution (Lionsgate)

The One-Liner: Director Scott Speer continues the Step Up series in fine form with this terrific, brightly-colored cornucopia of modern dance; while hardly revolutionary in its storytelling, it’s got some of the best choreography in recent memory.

Picture Perfect? Particularly in 3D, Step Up Revolution looks stunning, offering spectacular clarity even as Speer’s camera immerses itself in the action.

What Else Is There? A commentary track, four featurettes and a breakout feature including all of the film’s flash mob sequences expand the context of the dancing in the film and showcase its incredible set pieces.

How Badly Do I Want It? If you’re a fan at all of its predecessors, this is a must-own, but it’s engaging enough to be a pleasant night even if you’re just looking for some fun.

In a neat bit of art-imitates-life synergy, actors Kathryn McCormick and Ryan Guzman have an introduction in Step Up Revolution where the on-screen couple falls into rhythm with one another just as the actors were forced to as newcomers to the series.

When asked how their first experiences on the set mirrored that meet-cute between the film’s future lovers, Guzman explained that there was at least one key difference.

“She wasn’t shaking her hips as much as she was in the movie when we first met,” Guzman revealed about McCormick in an exclusive interview with Celebuzz.

McCormick explained that they in fact had a long rehearsal process prior to shooting which allowed everyone to get comfortable with each other before a frame of film was shot.

“When we first got to the film, we did a month of training,” McCormick said. “We learned all of the flash mobs that we did, and in that we got to become really comfortable with the mob, with each other, and with the cast and the crew.

Even as the comparative veteran to the franchise, Stephen “Twitch” Boss said that shooting the fourth installment was actually pretty different from Step Up 3D.

“It’s newcomers into a new world so it was its own experience, to be honest,” he said. “But I felt like after the first two or three rehearsals, we were good, because everybody’s down for the cause, and everybody was super cool.”

As speculation continues to swirl about casting 50 Shades of Grey, another leading man is throwing his hat in the ring. The 50 Shades casting was just one of the many hot topics covered when the sexy young stars of Summit Entertainment’s Step Up Revolution Ryan Guzman and Kathryn McCormick stopped by Celebuzz‘s Hollywood studio for a chat with special guest host Jake Whetter.

“Yeah, for sure. Let’s do it,”  Guzman told Celebuzz of playing Christian Grey in the big-screen adaption of the sex-and-bondage-filled blockbuster trilogy.

Would his costar  McCormick hop on board as Grey’s love interest, Anastasia Steele?

“I think I would have to let him have his own journey with that,” she said.

While she may not be into a 50 Shades love story, McCormick had a dream date in mind.

“Something outside [and] something active,” she said of her perfect date. “But also relaxing. Maybe doing something active during the day, and then going for a boat ride at night and relaxing over conversation.”

As for Guzman, he’d like a chance to show off his chef skills to a lady. “I like to cook too [so] I wouldn’t mind cooking a dinner and then bring it out to some scenic area,” he explained. “We would just have a lot of fun. Even though I like shy girls, I like to bring the shyness out of them.”

And that’s not all the Step Up stars revealed about themselves. In a question-and-answer game, Celebuzz put the costars to the test to find out just how well they know each other. When it came to on-set snacks, Guzman always grabbed a Snicker’s bar, while McCormick chose health-conscious bites, like grapes and coconut water.

Tackling a more serious topic, Guzman expressed his condolences for all those affected by the Aurora, Colorado, mass shooting. “Our prayers go out to the victims,” he said. “It’s rough because we don’t know how much media plays into [events like that].”

“It’s just really saddening to see someone get so wrapped up in something that’s not reality,” McCormick chimed in.

But the stars agree their upbeat Step Up sequel was a much-needed break from silver screen violence. “It think it was something that was really necessary to happen when people were really afraid to go to the theaters,” said McCormick.

“I think our movie is pretty fun,” Guzman explains. “It’s a way to step out and have fun. It’s a fun-loving movie.”

Though Step Up Revolution‘s Ryan Guzman auditioned alongside many actresses for the highly anticipated dance flick, he tells Celebuzz that there was instant chemistry when he first met with costar Kathryn McCormick.

“When I first met her, she stood out,” Guzman, 24, recalls. ”As soon as I met her, she just welcomed me with opened arms. She gave me a hug right away.”

He continues, “It was a breath of fresh air. It was like, ‘Okay, this is a real person.’”

How did McCormick feel about their screen test that fateful day?

“I don’t know what happened but all the fear dropped,” she tells us about auditioning for her first feature film. “It was just a moment we created. It felt so right.”

In the movie, Guzman and McCormick play Sean and Emily, two star crossed lovers whose love for dance bring them together to stop Emily’s father from destroying the neighborhood that Sean inhabits.

“I’ve never had that in an audition,” Guzman continues about their onscreen chemistry. “It showed as soon as we went in to read our lines together. The director kind of took a step back and said, “Wow, there’s some magic in the air.”

As the fourth installment of the popular Step Up franchise, Guzman and McCormick admittedly had some big shoes to fill — stepping up (pun intended) to continue the dance saga made famous by costars and real-life couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan.

“We knew we were stepping into our own stories and, if anything, we were excited about the challenge,” McCormick says.

“It’s a family,” she adds. “With that, it only brings out the best in you.”

With Mexican-American lead Ryan Gúzman bringing his Latin swag to the choreography, the Step Up Revolution group busts out a variety of dance moves in this grand finale scene.

The film, produced by Step Up 3D director Jon Chu and directed by Scott Speer, hits theaters July 27.

Step off Channing Tatum, Ryan Guzman might just be stealing your franchise thunder.

Step Up Revolution may be the fourth film in the popular franchise, but from the looks of the movie’s preview its just hitting its stride.

Summit Entertainment released the first three minutes of the film which hits theaters on July 27, and it features shirtless guys and scantily-clad girls as they take over Miami with their intense dance moves.

Closing down a whole block in the sunshine state, the it’s not just dancers who get involved.

Since the film is all about the flash mobs, random passerby peeps inadvertently get in on the action too.

At one point, some of the dancers start busting out dance moves on top of cars equipped with some serious hydraulics.

The film, which also stars Kathryn McCormick, centers around a dance crew (led by Guzman) which is threatened by her father’s plans when he aims to develop their historic neighborhood and displace the group.

The new photos also depict how this film differs from the previous movies in the Step Up franchise.

In the image above, viewers get a sneak peek at the movie’s big flash mob scene, where the entire cast is suited up and dancing on an escalator.

Celebuzz got into the groove with McCormick and Guzman at Step Up alum Channing Tatum‘s premiere of Magic Mike.
