After screening his latest film, Django Unchained, at a BAFTA event, the director hinted that tommy guns and fedoras are in his future. “I could conceive maybe someday doing a 30′s gangster picture, or something like that.” The Pulp Fiction director also said that making another Western could be in the cards. Fans of the TV show Friday Night Lights are going to have to take a knee if what Coach Taylor says about the prospective new movie is true. While promoting his new film, Zero Dark Thirty, Kyle Chandler said that, despite reports to the contrary, he is neither involved in any plans to bring the NBC series to the big screen, nor wants to be. “My general attitude about Friday Night Lights is, it was a great movie with Billy Bob [Thornton]. It was a great TV show,” Chandler said. “But they ended [the show] at exactly the right time, and exactly the right way as well.” The actor went on to say that he has yet to see a script for the film, or have any contact with director Peter Berg regarding the project. Thursday’s release of an announcement trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness is just the beginning. On December 14, Paramount Pictures will present the first 9-minutes of the film attached to IMAX prints of Warner Bros.’ The Hobbit. On Monday, Mammoth released a never-before-seen introduction to Stephenie Meyer’s uber-popular novel The Host, written by — who else? — Meyer herself.

Celebuzz has your first look at the chilling three-page set up.

After the jump, read as Meyer paints the scene for her New York Times bestselling follow-up to The Twilight Saga, in which a young girl refuses to give up her mind after an unseen enemy invades her body.

The novel, released in 2010, is already being adapted into a movie, starring Oscar-nominated youngster Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) as the film’s protagonist, Melanie. Also featured in the Andrew Niccol-directed thriller: William Hurt (A History of Violence; Kiss of the Spiderwoman); and Diane Kruger, of Inglourious Basterds fame.

The film opens March 29, 2013.

Picking out an engagement ring is a pretty big deal but picking out an engagement ring for Edward to give Bella in Eclipse is an even bigger deal.

Twilight Saga author Stephanie Meyer was very adamant about getting the Eclipse engagement ring just right. The film’s prop master, Grant Swain, reportedly spent a huge amount of time researching the ring and commissioning samples from various designers.

Unfortunately, none of these rings were to Stephanie’s liking and she eventually had to design the ring herself with the aid of Portland-based jeweler Rick Thurber. In Eclipse, Stephanie describes the ring as “set with slanting rows of glittering round stones.” The result? A beautiful pave-diamong ring that wasn’t even finished until a few hours before the filming of the engagement scene began.

We can understand Stephanie’s pickiness but if a ring is being given to us by Robert Pattinson we don’t think we would mind too much what it looked like.

A Twilight documentary? Why not?

In a new interview with MTV, the creators of the first ever documentary dedicated to the vampire sensation explain what fans can expect.

Director Jason Brown reveals, “One of the things that you’ll see in the film is how vampires actually relate to Forks, and whether there’s some truth to the characters that you’re familiar with. This teaser gives you a glimpse at that.”

He goes on, saying, “You’ll see shots of the forest and some shots of signs about vampires. You’ll meet a real-life Bella and a real-life Alice that are in Forks.”

Wow. Just wow. Watch the trailer below:

Twilight in Forks will be released on DVD on October, with plenty of juicy town secrets revealed.

You’ve heard it folks, straight from the Twilight author’s mouth.

Boo Boo Stewart isn’t the only person who thinks that the fourth Vampire flick, Breaking Dawn, should be split into two movies.

In a new interview, Stephenie Meyer was asked “if all four of the Books are made into movies, which would you most look forward to work on?

Meyer responds, “If they do all four – I really think they have to do five movies, cause I don’t think you can do Breaking Dawn in one movie, You have to split it up. You do it right, well you do it in two.”

In the Stephanie Meyer book, Bella’s dress is described as an early 1900s design with modern tweaks to the train and veil.

Bella’s mother tells Bella when she sees the dress, “You look like you just stepped out of an Austen movie. It’s gorgeous! So graceful, so elegant.”

TheWrap.com is reporting that Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final book in the Twilight series, has been given the green light by Summit Entertainment. According to an inside source close to the series, Breaking Dawn will start shooting in the spring of 2010.

Though they just started filming the second film, New Moon, the saga’s popularity has nowhere to go but up. And with hot co-stars like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, why wouldn’t you want to see more Vampire action?

New Moon is currently set to be released in November of this year, while the third film, Eclipse, is tentatively set at a June 2010 date.

Summit Entertainment’s Twilight opened this past weekend and shattered box office expectations with a whopping $70.6 million take. The film’s production budget was $37 million.

Robert Pattinson, 22, pictured here arriving at New York City’s JFK airport on Sunday, can expect the grueling promotional trail to stretch on and on.

Box Office Mojo notes that Twilight boasted the fourth best November opening ever, coming in behind three of the Harry Potter films.

Twilight has also set a record as the highest-grossing debut weekend for a female-directed film. Catherine Hardwicke, 53, who lensed the vampire flick, has now beat Mimi Leder‘s previous record of an initial $41.2 million intake for 1998′s Deep Impact.

Needless to say, Summit officially announced on Friday that New Moon, the first follow-up to Twilight, will be going into production shortly.

Today is like Christmas Eve for Twilighters across the nation!

With the film adaptation of Stephanie Meyer‘s book Twilight out in theaters tomorrow, the fan fever has spread across the Internet like a vampiric frenzy.

There’s a vibrant section where Buzznet users tell their own stories of having to move to a new town far away from where they grew up, just like the character Bella Swan.

Brush up on all the Twilight lore you can sink your teeth into before heading out to see the movie this weekend!

E! reports that the Los Angeles world premiere of the vampire teen flick Twilight was total chaos in Westwood Village last night.

“Thousands” of fans reportedly stood on corners near the Mann Village and Bruin Theatres to scream and cheer for the stars of the movie (tentacle-haired heartthrob Robert Pattinson, 22, and Kristen Stewart, 18, with her hair up in waves and clad in an edgy, red, white and silver asymmetrical dress) as they arrived on the red carpet.

The film’s other actors, Peter Facinelli, 35, (husband of 90210‘s Jennie Garth) and young stars of tomorrow Kellan Lutz, 23, Cam Gigandet, 26, Jackson Rathbone, 24, and Taylor Lautner, 16, were also shrieked for.

And even the writer of the Twilight book series, Stephanie Meyer, was screamed at and besieged for autographs. Writers are superstars now thanks to JK Rowling!

Actor Jamie Foxx, musician Perry Farrell, and the band Paramore (who have a single on the film’s soundtrack) were also in attendance.

The rest of the world will have to wait until Friday to see if the film lives up to the all of the anticipation.

Hopes are particularly high across the Internet, typified by the bloody optimists of Buzznet.
